Geraldine switches to her sides for the umpteenth time. She had been having problems with laying down. Which was a serious struggle, Meanwhile, Jayden seemed too quiet over the phone.

It wasn't something that was supposed to surprise her. Because he had been displaying this trait for so long. Talking for long seemed like a very big problem for him. She did most of the talking.

She didn't know why he preferred video calls, since the first time they had it, that had been his mode of communication.

At first, it was difficult, because she had a huge crush, and was trying to hide it, but now she could make eye contact. Though not for long.

"What was your genuine thought of me when we first met?" Geraldine ask intending to start a conversation. Though deep down she wanted to know what he thought about her, especially because she disliked him back in time.

How have things changed?

She disliked this dude so much, how she started developing feelings for him, is still a mystery.

Jayden sits up, making her smile.

"You have to sit up for this?" She laughs.

He only smiles.

That smile

She hadn't seen any sign of him. She did everything possible, not just because of the vlog, not just to see Nathan, deep down she knew part of her wanted to see Leo, while the other part was in denial.

"What do you want to eat?" Nathan suddenly asks, bringing her to reality. That moment she noticed he had pulled his shirt. She had to swallow the huge lump in her throat.

"I am not hungry, thank you." She says very conscious of herself.

"I'm hurt." He says giving her a puppy look. "You don't want anything from Zaddy?" He says and laughs.

Meanwhile, she blush on impulse.

"You are beautiful. How many times have you been told that?" Nathan asks, moving too close to her, making the air heated.

Especially with the fact, he was now drawing an invisible something on her bare lap.

"Your parents!" She blurts out anxiously.

"Dad doesn't stay here, Mum is hardly home, our cleaners slash cook, aren't available by this time. It's just us here, no one will disturb us." He says slowly.

"What about Leo?" She blurts out by mistake.

"Only God knows where he is," Nathan says, now pulling her legs on his lap, making her skirt go higher.

Jason couldn't help it anymore, he had to smile. The recent picture she sent had made him start grinning to himself like a mad man. Or love-struck puppy. Either way, we choose to call it.

"Who is she? She is pretty?"

Now that statement, left his eyes wide open, especially with how easily his mum could take the phone away.

"No!" Jason responds. "Both parents are Nigerians, they are from Akwa Ibom." He says.

"She is pretty." His mum says now bringing the pot of food down. They were finally done with the food.

"Mum, can we eat now," Jason says trying to divert her attention. He could never lie to his Mum, he told her almost everything. She sure knew how to get information from him.

Now she was looking at him. He doesn't respond, he knew his silence gave her the answer.

"Jason be careful. You are about the age of getting a girl pregnant, you are just almost seventeen. Not even seventeen." She says.

He only continues staring at the table.

"She is beautiful." That was the last statement his mum made, before heading to the dining room.

Meanwhile, Ekanem laughs to her heart in contempt, she even got to sit on the floor.

"Roger, Tiger!" Leave there, Ekanem yells, meanwhile Jewel shuts her eyes, while she keeps jumping.

"Open your eyes, they are gone."

Jewel opens her eyes only to see one of them, tugging her skirt.

She calls out making Jewel look back, it took her a matter of seconds to tell, the Puppy was the Jason.

"You named a dog Jason, that's my bothers name." Jewel shouts defensively.

"It's a name." Ekanem laughs, meanwhile Jewel straightens her skirt.

"I will surely charge you more for stress and damages," Jewel says dramatically.

"Come in joor," Ekanem says dragging her in, meanwhile Jewel scanned the environment. The surroundings spelt wealth. "Welcome to my home," Ekanem says quite excitedly. Only for Jewel to catch sight of something, or would we rather call it someone.

Leo just laid recklessly on the couch, like he owned the place or something.

"Sorry about that," Geraldine says, meanwhile she watches Jayden who just layed on his bed. They were currently having a video call.

She was apologizing for hanging up. A little pang of embarrassment coupled with insecurity was what led her to cut the call on him.

One minute she was single, and the other minute she was saying yes to her first boyfriend and crush for a while. This was what she wished for, that he would notice her, or wasn't it?

"Well, they are siblings," Ekanem says.

"I know that now." Jewel hisses and seats on the bed.

Jewel slumps on her bed, immediately she get to her room. She wouldn't call it a great day. There were a lot of messes. Not to exclude the fact she found out Leo still smoked. Worst still he didnt even act like he saw a human being. It did hurt her a bit.

Nathan had called, she had intentionally ignored his call, intending to make it up to him the next day. He was her boyfriend after all. And she couldn't continue doing this.

Not like she was a virgin or something. The deceit was biting her.

"Jewel!"

She sits up immediately her door gets pulled.

"Mum!" She calls out sitting up. She was surprised her mum was still home, although the person she was expecting was her Dad, and she noticed he wasn't back.

"Daddy isnt!" Jewel repeats even knowing the answer. She had just gotten a brilliant plan for herself. She had been thinking about ways to meet up with Nathan the next day and had just gotten the perfect opportunity.

The plan is to get back before her Mum does. Which could be easy.

"The number of cases has reduced for the past two days. " Her mum says referring to the pandemic.

She finally picks up the call, which makes Jayden sit up. He had been calling her for the past two hours on interval.

Her line had been busy.

"Do you want anything?" Nathan asks, meanwhile Jewel looks around. She noticed the pool, two pairs of towels and a lotion lying in a corner.

"No, no!" Jewel responds slowly looking around. She had someone in mind, she wasn't going to chide herself about it.

"So, I have a lot of fun things planned, to make your short visit here worthwhile." Nathan ways gripping her by the waist. Meanwhile, she chuckles uneasily. "Swimming..,"

'Swimming?" Jewel cuts him off immediately.

"Swimming?" Nathan repeats. "Cant you swim?" He asks.

"I can." She responds, moving slowly. "But I didnt bring a bikini." She defends.

"I can give you my singlet if you aren't comfortable with your underwear." He says slowly.

Jewel only gives him a look.

"Come, on! Let me go and get it." He says now running off immediately.

Jewel looks around a bit, before moving closer to the water, she couldn't sit, even though she wanted to. She was putting on trousers.

She stares at the water for close to three minutes, before she notices him running down the stairs.

On getting to where she stood, he hands her a pair of singlets, meanwhile she couldn't help but stare at him, and the small shorts he was putting on. She stared at his body openly.

"Do you like what you see?" He teases, meanwhile she breaks the gaze, feeling a little bit embarrassed.

She turns away from him, knowing the next thing. She pulls her shirt, leaving her in a bra, then slowly pulls her trousers reluctantly, immediately she puts on the singlet.

It wasn't too big, but it covered her butt cheek a little, she gets into the water immediately.

Nathan laughs and attempts to join her, but a call cuts him off.

He slowly walks down to where his phone laid, while she caught sight of Leo. He was upstairs, immediately their gaze met, he walks away from there, making her wonder how long he had been standing there.

"I am really sorry. It's my Dad." Nathan says. She noted he wasn't happy. "He suddenly wants to see me, he remembers he has a son." He says.

Jewel noted, there might be some bad blood between them. With the way he spoke.

"I am really sorry. You can go home, I might come back early, or not. Only God knows the havoc he wants to drop on me, maybe a 3rd wife." Nathan hisses.

"It's okay. I will just wait." She says, chiding a part of her for making the decision.

"I am really sorry." He says now kneeling a dropping a kiss on her cheek. He runs upstairs immediately.

It's been over thirty minutes she had been in the water. Nathan had left for a while. She slowly gets out of the water, picks up the towel, and start wandering upstairs, while she drys herself. She had finally let her emotions get the best of her. She was on her way looking for Leo, even though she didnt know his room.

She starts walking when she gets up. She looks left and right, she suddenly turns left but hears a scream from the right, which makes her start walking down there instead.

She follows the sound, only to meet three doors, almost facing each other, the one on the left was locked, the same as the one ahead. The one at the right was slightly open. She knew Leo was the only one home currently.

She opens the door body, only to receive the shock of her life. A chair was thrown into a corner, the mirror was broken, the room was a mess. And something which broke her, Leo was at a corner sniffing through a paper.

The shock on her face, when their eyes met.

"Where did you get that from?" She asks her voice shaking. This wasn't the Leo she knew, the person looking at her was a different person.

"Dont let your golden boy meet you here," Leo says. He sounded hurt.

"Leo, what are you doing to yourself?" Jewel asks moving closer to him.

"Please, get out." He sounded so polite, even when he wanted to be offensive.

"I am not getting out." Jewel yells, giving him a look. "Do you know the harm this can cause you?" She asks.

"What do you care. Look, you know nothing about me. I would appreciate it if you just leave." He says slowly. "I always end up sad and alone. You choose him over me, that's enough, I get it, you love him, but can you please stop trying to rub it on my face?" Leo asks staring at her.

"I am not trying to rub anything on your face," Jewel says trying to defend herself.

"Jewel, just go please." He begs.

"What are you doing to yourself?" Jewel asks feeling a pang of pain in her chest. She was finding it difficult to breathe.

"I'm fine, I am fine," Leo repeats pushing everything away and coiling himself at a corner. "Please just go." He says. "I told myself, I will forget about you, it would take time, I know that it would hurt me, especially when I get to see you every day. But I will be fine. I keep on losing people I love anyways, first it was her, now you! I am used to it, it's no biggy." He narrates while she stared at him.

She didnt realize when she threw herself into his arms, she hugs him tightly, while he does same.

"It hurts me to see you this way!" Jewel blurts out, in less than a minute, he pulled her, from his arm, and drops his lips on hers. Jewel parts her lips hungrily. While he kissed her so passionately, she could relive what kissing him felt like. It was so heated and passionate, especially when he grabs her ass, and positions her on his crotch.
