                                  (・ε・'*) -->This might be a long chapter.

"You should've asked somebody else, why me?"

"You're the only person whose free right now."

"Still though. Couldn't it have been-" EJ scratched the back of his head. "Oh, I don't know.. Toby?"

Jeff halted as he let out a shudder. "Don't you remember last time?" He mumbled under his breath.

"He set the kitchen on flames." Jeff reminded the black hooded male.

EJ nodded slowly as if he were reconsidering the thought. "So, what do you want to make for the girl?" He asked curiously, walking along side with Jeff towards the kitchen down the hallway.

Jeff hesitated. "I'm not sure yet." He admitted. "We'll go search something up and if it's easy to make, we'll do it."

The both of them had reached the dark kitchen at the same time. EJ had made himself comfortable in the new home by sitting criss-cross on the sofa chair while Jeff had walked a little further to open the dim light.

"Grab the laptop." He added to his black hooded friend as he turned around.

EJ had grabbed his laptop and had opened it, the dim light shining across his face. He abruptly shielded his empty eyes away from the light as he handed the laptop towards Jeff. "Password." He said bluntly.

Jeff grabbed the laptop out of EJ's reach and began tapping on the keys to access his computer. Soon, the homescreen was unlocked and he was able to get in. He opened up a tab on his computer and began clicking on keys for easy meals to make for the girl.

"Find anything yet?" EJ asked, peering over Jeff's shoulder to get a good look at the computer screen.

Jeff kept scrolling through the main browse, though his eyes stang from the bright light, he maaged to adjust the brightness to a low dim light so that both him and EJ could see properly.

"Can't we just make cheesecake like Hoods and Mask?" EJ asked, already lying on the sofa, looking up at the ceiling.

"Too much ingredients." Jeff murmured, his eyes still fixed on the screen as he kept scrolling down basic cooking remedies.

For a moment, they were both silent until the black hooded male had rised up and glanced at Jeff. "Soup?" He suggested.

Jeff looked up from the computer screen and looked at his hooded friend. "You know how to make one?" He asked.

EJ had properly sat up now, and was now rolling up his sleeves. He lifted his mask just above his mouth as he let out a smirk. "Watch me."

Jeff had closed his laptop, and was now paying more attention to his black hooded friend. He had rose up from the sofa and began walking to the kitchen.

Jeff followed him.

The black hooded male reached out above him and opened the cabinet above him as he struggled to get a bowl. Jeff could hear him cursing under his breath as he tried climbing up the kitchen counter to grab the bowl.

Jeff couldn't help but let out a smirk as his friend had gotten up on the kitchen counter before banging his head above the cabinet.

"Shit!" The male cursed as he banged his head above the cabinet. He slowly got off the kitchen counter and rubbed his head in pain before turning around to face Jeff.

Jeff had his one hand clamped on his mouth, trying so hard not to grin or smile. He could hear EJ growl under his breath. "Help. Me." He commanded, still rubbing his head from the shock.

Jeff let him had his few moments of laughted before it died away. He let out a low sigh. "All right." He agreed.

Jeff walked towards the black hooded male before veering sharply towards the fridge. The black hooded male stared at him. "What are you doing?" He asked.

But Jeff didn't answer. Instead, he pulled out a long metal stick which had a small grappling hook at the end. He then walked back towards the cabinet and gripped the high handle of the cabinet with the small hook and pulled on it.

Immediately, the cabinet let out a small creak before opening fully. He then used the hook to grab one of the bowls before placing it gently on the kitchen counter. Jeff turned around to see the black hooded male, his expression unreadable since it was hidden from his mask, but he was silent, making Jeff smirk.

He turned back around and began rubbing the edge of the bowl with a circle around his fingers. "So, what soup do you plan to make?" Jeff asked, not even bothering to turn around.

Before the black hooded male could answer, there was a knock on the door. Suddenly, both Jeff and EJ went dead quiet, Jeff slowly turning around to look at EJ before EJ let out a defensive shrug.

Jeff mouthed to EJ to get the door, but EJ didn't seem to get it. Instead, he tilted his head in a confusing way before Jeff lost his patience.

He walked over to EJ and lifted his foot before kicking EJ towards the door. The black hooded male staggered from the impact before regaining his balance and walking towards the door in a sulking position. But before he reached the door, he turned around to face Jeff and held out his hand before lifting a middle finger at Jeff's face.

Jeff felt his leg twitch, the urge telling him to go strangle his black hooded friend once he returned but he let out a low painful sigh before crouching low and hiding underneath the kitchen counter, watching EJ as he turned the doorknob and opened the door.

__

EJ had reached the door after his insult to Jeff, he silently crept to the door handle before turning the door and opening it. He let his hood down to cover his mask and his face. Light seeped into his empty sockets but he beared the pain as he tried to look at the intruder.

He could see that it was a man about in his 30's. The man looked a bit nervous as he set his eyes on him. Jack could see that the man was hiding a metal basket that was carrying bottles of a white liquid in it. He stared back at the man again.

The man began to slightly tremble before handing out the metal basket to show Jack his gift. "M-Milk?" He stuttered out.

Jack stared at it curiously before turning his head around to see Jeff hiding underneath the kitchen counter. It took him a moment or two before Jeff and him connected eyes and Jeff finally got what he meant. But to his disappointment, Jeff just shrugged before hiding deeper into the darkness.

Jack turned around to face the trembling man again before clutching the small scalpel that hid deep beneath the skin of his jeans in his pocket.

He thought about the milk substance in the bottle as it swayed back and forth in the metal cage basket. Surely, milk was a substance that humans could drink right? He thought to himself. Maybe it could be used to make soup..

His eyes darted towards the milkman in his dark blue uniform before nodding quickly and grabbing three bottles of milk with his one free hand before slamming the door in the milkman's face. He let a loud sigh before looking at the dark room.

He saw Jeff's black hair poking up and then his forehead, and then his eyes. Jeff's eyes darted back and forth before uneasily asking him, "Is he gone?"

Jack let out a smirk before shaking the three bottles of milk up high in the air. "Yup." He reassured Jeff as he stepped out of his hiding spot.

"How many bottles?" Jeff asked, stepping towards him, eyeing the three bottles of milk Jack still had clutched in his one hand.

Jack shoved the three bottles of milk towards Jeffs face, causing Jeff to step back slightly. "3."

Jeff nodded approvingly before turning around to get the bowl. "Then lets get started."

Jeff had told the girl to stay put where she was, and she obeyed. At the first moments there was nothing but silence as the girl stared down at her toes. Jeff had told her that EJ and him would be right back with more food.

Suddenly at the thought of food, the girl felt her stomach growl with hunger as she winced, placing one hand above her abdomen. As she did so, she suddenly heard a loud crashing noise, making her jump. She was curious to go outside and see what was happening, so she silently got up from the bed and made her way towards the door.

She opened the door a little bit to let her one eye peek through the dark hallway. For a moment she saw nothing but empty darkness until two dark figures appeared, one walking towards the door while the other was hiding underneath the kitchen counter.

While standing on one foot and the other foot laying across the bed, the girl's legs grew tired so she adjusted her sitting position, her eye still above the peekhole. Suddenly she could hear two voices. One familiar one that belonged to the black hooded male and another new voice, a deep hollow voice though as she listened carefully, it was as if the guy was terrified.

Poor guy, the girl thought.

Suddenly she heard the door shut and darkness filled the whole room once again. She could see the dark huddled figure slowly emerging out of it's hiding spot as it went to join the other dark figure. She struggled to peer out furhter more out of the peekhole so she decided to creak the door open further. But it wasn't until her foot accidently gave out, making her fall to the floor, her head hitting the door hard, making the door open fully until she fell into the dark hallway.

She blinked before glancing right to see Jeff and EJ both standing close, looking at her. Awkward silence filled the whole room for a few moments before the girl stood up and dusted herself off awkwardly.

"I thought I told you to stay in bed." Jeff told the girl in a icy cold voice.

The girl felt her leg twitch in fear as she clenched her right fist tightly. "I-I" She thought of a good excuse to make. "I'm hungry." She blurted out.

Jeff stared at her while she could see EJ slowly cringe before he lightly chuckled at the girl's response, making Jeff turn around and punch him lightly in the stomach. EJ jerked but stopped laughing, though his mask was lifted only above his mouth, the girl could see him grinning at her.

The girl awkwardly cleared her throat. "What are you making?" She asked, turning to Jeff. Before Jeff could answer her question, EJ cut him off. "Soup." He replied, smirking at a glaring Jeff.

The girl narrowed her eyes at the three bottles of milk the black hooded male carried in his one hand. "You're making soup.." She trailed off before flickering her eyes back and forth towards Jeff and EJ. "With milk?" She asked in a confused tone.

EJ shrugged defensively. "Soup is liquid. And milk is liquid." He shrugged twice. "I don't eat what humans eat."

The girl felt her left eye twitch before she sighed and walked towards EJ. She stood in front of him before realizing how much she had shrunk, due to his tall height. The girl yanked the three bottles of milk away from his hand before marching towards the kitchen counter and placing it on the smooth cold stone surface.

She turned towards them.

"This," she gestured towards the three bottles of milk. "is not how you make soup."

EJ was already sitting on the sofa looking bored, but he was looking at the girl. "Then how?" He asked.

The girl's eye twitched again. Instead of answering the black hooded male, she turned to Jeff. "Laptop." She ordered.

Immediately, Jeff began scrambling to get the computer to hand it to her. She placed the laptop down on the kitchen table and tapped it's screen lightly before it's bright screen light lit up. She began clicking on the keys in a fast pace until she finally hit the enter button as a finish sign.

Her eyes scanned down lists of soup remedies before she finally chose one and clicked on it. She turned the computer screen towards Jeff and EJ. "How about this?" She asked.

Jeff and EJ had to scramble towards the computer before squinting their eyes at the bright screen. Jeff wrinkled his nose. "Chicken Noodle Soup?" He glanced up at the girl. "The heck is that?"

"What the name of the soup says. Chicken. Noodle. Soup." She let out each word in a seperate breath.

"Could I have a kidney soup then?" EJ asked, tilting his head at the girl. The thought of having organs to eat made her have the urge to throw up.

"Just don't make it messy enough for me to throw up.." She muttered before turning away and heading towards the kitchen counter to prepare the soup.

Jeff followed her, leaving EJ laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling. He leaned his elbows far back on the kitchen counter as he looked at her. The girl felt herself beginning to heat up, but she didn't say anything. Suddenly she stopped what she was doing before glancing up. "No chicken.." She mumbled.

Jeff heard her so he turned his head away before shouting to EJ, "You have any animal meat?"

EJ sat up and turned his head to look at Jeff. "Chicken?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"Hang on," he replied before lifting his feet off of the sofa and walking towards the end of the hallway. A few seconds later, he returned with a huge sack that had dried blood sticking out at the bottom. He carried the sack to the kitchen counter before opening the sack and rummaging through it. Immediately the foul stench hit both Jeff and the girl's nose as they both wrinkled their noses and stepped back.

EJ struggled a bit for a few moments before reaching his hand fully through the sack and pulling out a dead bloody chicken. He glanced at the pale girl. "This enough?" He asked, holding the dead chicken by it's one foot.

The girl held her nose by her fingers, unable to speak from the foul stench so she just slowly nodded. EJ then shrugged and gripped the chicken's leg tightly before walking towards the girl. Each step he took made the girl step back. EJ saw this reaction and it made him smirk, slowly walking faster until he was chasing the girl with the dead chicken to the end of the hallway.

The girl, still holding her nose by her fingers, ran away from the dead bloody chicken and from the black hooded male until she was cornered into the end of the hallway. She slowly turned around to see EJ slowly walking towards her, the dead chicken swinging back and forth by it's leg.

Suddenly out of nowhere, Jeff appeared in front of the girl as if he were defending her from the dead chicken. "Oi," he snapped in front of EJ. "Don't tease her."

EJ stopped walking and smirked. He twirled the dead chicken back and forth as he pouted. "Seriously? You're not letting me have fun with her."

The girl felt the black hooded male's eyes turning to her as she shrunk behind Jeff's back. "Oh well," EJ sighed before turning his back away. Both Jeff and the girl watched as EJ slowly disappeared into the kitchen.

After moments of silence, Jeff finally turned his head to look at the girl with hesitating eyes. "You okay?" He asked. The girl didn't answer except meeting his eyes and nodding slowly. Soon, the both of them were walking slowly towards the kitchen, Jeff leading the way while the girl was still hiding behind his shoulder.

They soon reached the kitchen to see EJ sitting on top of the kitchen counter, the dead chicken next to him. Jeff heard the girl inhale a loud breath before walking past him and towards the black hooded male.

The girl cringed as she saw the dead bloody chicken but she did her best to hold her nose and squeeze her eyes shut as she picked up the dead chicken ny it's neck and began to wash it. She opened her eyes as she watched the blood slowly fade away from the skin of the chicken, though dry blood stuck some of the feathers into bits of clumps as she watched the pink water slowly drain away.

"Pluck it." The girl commanded the black hooded male who was watching her. She handed the washed chicken towards his face, not looking at him.

For a few moments, the dead chicken dangled there on her hand before it was lifted and the heavy weight was off of her hand. She glanced around to see Jeff sitting on the kitchen table as she narrowed her eyes. "Boil the water." She ordered Jeff.

While the two men were doing the work, she went back to Jeff's laptop to scroll down through the recipe. Noodles were required. But they didn't have any, the girl thought, glancing back at the two men who were nudging each other, trying to knock them down.

The girl shrugged as she glanced back at the computer screen. Chicken and soup is enough, she thought. Suddenly she felt something run down her nose so she wiped it with her palm and glanced down at it. Runny nose, she thought.

Suddenly Jeff's voice voiced through her thoughts by poking her elbow. "Oi. It's done." The girl peered her head around Jeff to see the soup bowls messily slopped around as it was steaming hot. Two of the bowls looked normal except for the other one which was in dried red blood.

Anybody could tell that the bloody bowl was for EJ's. She nodded at Jeff before standing up and getting out the forks and spoons as she set the table. The two men were already sitting next to each other as she sat the bowls down on the kitchen table. "Dig in," she said as soon as the bowls touched the table.

Jeff began poking the chicken at first, as he poked it, the chicken doused itself underneath the soup before floating back up. Jeff looked at it with disgust while EJ was already eating it. He ate the the bloody organs before trying the bloody soup. The girl tried not to look at him so instead she focused herself on her meal.

She had to admit, the soup tasted pretty good. She quietly gulped down the contents, already feeling better from the sickness until she finished the whole bowl. She was so hungry she didn't realize the two guys staring at her as she finished the bowl.

As she did, she set the bowl down on the table back again, wiped her mouth with her sleeve before looking back and forth between the two men who were staring at her. "What?" She asked.

EJ was still staring at her, but he was slowly lifting his spoon, the bloody substance slowly trickling down, making the girl feel sick again. Jeff noticed her reaction so he sent an unseen glare towards EJ, unseen by the girl.

Eventually EJ stopped, but Jeff lost his patience. Twitching his leg, Jeff tackled EJ towards the ground as the girl stood up to help, but the fight was kind of funny to watch. Instead, the girl stood there, giggling at the fighting couple who were struggling to claw each other like cats.

EJ was being crushed on top of Jeff but his legs were trying to kick Jeff's stomach, though Jeff was blocking his hits with his own legs. Both EJ and Jeff's arms were tangled together, trying to have a fist fight.

"You're a lot stronger than before," EJ said quietly, panting and struggling to find his breath.

"So are you." Jeff panted as well, smirking.

Soon, the quarrel was over in a few minutes as the both of them gave up at the same time, panting and laying on the ground. Silence filled the room before a silent giggle was heard above their heads. The both of them looked up to see the girl giggling at them, her one hand trying to block out all the laughs.

Jeff narrowed his eyes as he glanced at EJ. EJ nodded, as if they were both thinking the same thing. Suddenly, the both of them lunged at the girl at the same time, recieving a tiny shriek from the girl as she tried to run away but EJ grabbed one leg of hers as she fell down on top of EJ. Jeff grabbed her one arm but then fell down as well as the girl fell. Soon all three of them were mushed on top of each other like a sandwhich.

EJ on the bottom, being crushed by all the weight, the girl in the middle and Jeff on the top. All three of them tried to claim their place as dominant in the highest place but soon they ran out of energy as they panted and fought for their breath, sprawling across the floor.

Jeff turned his head to the left to see the girl looking up at the ceiling, panting to catch her breath. As soon as he regained his energy and found his breath, he murmured to the girl, laying his head on his arm as he quietly asked, "Feeling better?"

The girl turned her head to look at Jeff as well before letting out a soft smile at him, her eyes glowing with loving affection Jeff had never felt before. "Yeah," she said, letting out a laughing sigh.
