I look up and see people cloaked in white.  I guess that's where the arrow came from. I rip it out. More men jumped down. They threw chains like hooks. One wraps around my neck. It burns. I yelp in pain. The man with the chain pulled me down. I wince. Ageria walks forward. 

"Stand down!" She yells.

"Mistress, you do realize what this thing is?" One says.

I thought they would love me. I thought I'd be someone. I can now see this isn't me. I'm not like this. I blast the chains off me with shadows. I stand up. I look at Mom. I look at my family. They're scared of me. Everyone was scared of me. Am I some kind of monster?

I walk forward. The men back away. I look at Mirabel.

"If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me? And if I seem dangerous, would you be scared? I get the feeling just because. Everything I touch isn't dark enough, if this problem lies in me."

Shadows surround me. 

"I'm only a man with a candle to guide me. I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me.

I turn to Ageria. She walks forward to me. 

"Can I clear my conscience? If I'm different from the rest, do I have to run and hide?

Shadows tighten their grip on me. The dagger shakes in my hand. I turn to Mom.

I rise up in the shadows. I grip my head. Blood drips from my chest.
