Walking around the village is terrifying because everyone usually stares at me like I'm some curse. I grip the bucket with sand and everything I need. I still feel their eyes on me. People can't change. People will always see me a as a devil and a curse. I can feel the dark clouds on me. I turn and I see people whispering. No doubt it's about me. I'm Bruno. Heck, I make bad things happen.
I walk to Miss Mallia's house. I suck in a breath. I knock on the door. She opens it. Her hair was still red as roses and her dress was still looking like the ocean barfed onto it. Nothing against her clothes, it's just it looks all over the place.
"Hi." I say.
Her eyes glare at me.
"Still mad about that?" I ask.
She huffs a breath. Yup, she's still mad about that. She hates me. I'm fairly sure. She opens the door, but her eyes are bitter to say the least. I'm not surprised. Everyone hates me. She leads me to the backyard.
"So, should I get started?" I ask
"That's what you're here for, right?" She asks.
"Yeah, sorry, bad question." I mumble.
I scratch my hair. I pull it back. I'm dreading what the future will look like. The future always looks bad for me. The future always has dark notes. Why? Why can I not see anything good. I'm really nervous. I finish placing the sand around. I put three piles. I light them on fire. I take a breath. I look at her.
"Uh, I'm ready." I inch for her to come forward.
She nods. She walks over and places her hand in my hands.
"Alright, let's see what the future holds." I say.
My eyes glow green and the sands swirl around.
