Logan remained emotionless as his father abused him. Sure, it hurt, a lot, but he wasn't going to give his father what he wanted. After escaping to his room, Logan regretfully did what needed to be done.
"Virgil, I... I'm breaking up with you." Logan didn't look at Virgil. He didn't want the dark boy to see the tears filling his eyes.
"What do you mean?" Virgil asked, tearing up. "Did I do something's wrong?"
No! Please don't think it's your fault! I don't want to do this! Logan thought. He still wouldn't look at Virgil, instead he turned his back to him.
"I don't love you." Logan forced the words out, wincing and filling with guilt afterwards.
"I-Im sorry.. I-I fix whatever I did wrong!" Virgil didn't understand. He thought they had something. He watched at his now ex-boyfriend closed his curtains.
As soon as Logan had closed his curtains he started crying. He hated himself for causing Virgil to think it's his fault. He noticed how the light in Virgil's eyes had disappeared quickly as soon as the first sentence was said.
He wanted to comfort him and tell him he loved him, but he couldn't...
===Trigger Warning: Cutting====
Virgil sat on his bed and sobbed. He took out his razor and held it to his wrist. The emo slid the cold blade across his wrist and watched as the blood dripped onto his bed. He made a cut for each item on the list the two had achieved.
After that he grabbed his special purple plaid patterned paper and began to write his last letter. Tears fell onto the paper, smearing a bit of the purple ink. He signed his name at the bottom and put on a dark black jacket he hadn't worn in a long time. Then he went out his window.
========
Logan heard a tapping on his window but ignored it. He laid in bed staring at the wall, guilt filling him up. He decided he should go apologize and got out of bed. He opened his curtains to see an envelope taped to his window. He grabbed it and examined it.
The front had his name written in rushed cursive. A bit of blood had gotten on it while the person had wrote it. He opened it up and saw a letter. He carefully read it.
Dear Logan,
I'm sorry I was a waste of your time. I never meant to cause you anymore pain. In fact, I won't be here to cause you anymore pain, I'm leaving.
Remember how you were always so excited about how "Anxiety" wrote you letter about everything they liked about you?
I'm Anxiety. I was going to tell you tonight but I guess you found out by this...
100) The way you always did what you thought was right <3
Yours truly,
Virgil Sanders
Logan teared up and grabbed his shoes. Virgil was going to take his own life because of something Logan did. He hurried out of his window and down the tree as Virgil had taught him.
Then he ran to the forest. He knew the path to the lake by now, seeing as the two had snuck out many times before. He just hoped he wasn't too late. He arrived at the lake and looked for Virgil, knowing the emo couldn't swim.
"Virgil! Virgil, where are you?!" Logan called out. He took out his phone and called the police, asking for help. He continued looking for the emo.
The policeman finally arrived and the two split up. It wasn't long before the policeman pulled a body out of the water. The sight of it made Logan want to throw up.
It was Virgil's body. His skin was a pale blue color, his lips were purple and his wet hair covered the poor boy's eyes.
Logan let out a choked sob as the policeman called for a paramedic. Logan called Virgil's parents to tell them the bad news. He blamed himself for what happened.

A few years later Patton and Roman were celebrating Halloween with Logan. The nerd hates Halloween because it reminded him of Virgil.
He got out a notebook and opened it. He put the date on the paper and wiped his eyes. Tears filled them again as he began to write.
Dear Anxiety,
