Losing Grip

Allison was sitting on her couch with her laptop on her lap while she edited the photos she took after the earthquake. Her thigh hurt a little bit as did her arm but nothing she couldn't handle. Allison heard a knock at her door, and she looked at the clock on her table seeing it was eleven thirty in the morning, as she wondered who it was, she put her laptop on the coffee table and slowly got up groaning in pain a little bit.

Another knock was heard, and she sighs a little bit. "I'm on my way, can you calm down a little bit." Allison walks to the door and opens it and is immediately engulfed around her waist in a hug. Blinking a little bit as she looks down and then smiles widely. "Well, hello to you, Christopher! How's my little man doing?"

Christopher chuckles while looking up at her while she rubs his head. "I'm doing well today." She rubs his head again and moves so he steadily walks into her apartment. Allison then turns seeing Eddie and Buck behind him.

A frown crosses her lips as she turns and walks off and smiles at Chris. Buck frowned while Eddie chuckles and looks at him.

"I get the feeling she doesn't like me very much," Buck whispers to him.

"She's like that with every guy she meets," Eddie states with a curt shrug. "Don't take it personally. She is friendly."

Allison rolls her eyes upon hearing the conversation behind her while Eddie and Buck walk into her apartment whole Allison looks at Christopher.

"What game would you like to play, Christopher?"

"Do you have my favorite racing game?"

Allison grins. "You think I would get rid of that game, buddy? You're the only one who kicks my butt at it."

Christopher laughs a little bit while Allison set it up and gave him the controller. "Can you make your infamous steak mac and cheese?"

"For you Christopher, anything."

Allison rubs his head once more as he turns to the TV and begins to walk into her kitchen and grabbed the cold steak she had made and a pan to start boiling the macaroni. Buck and Eddie walk into the kitchen and watch her.

"What have you been doing today?" questioned Eddie looking at her.

Allison shrugs. "Finishing off the photos from the earthquake and looking at the... news..."

Eddie frowns and watches her as she composed herself and began stirring the macaroni. Buck was confused. "The news?"

"Yeah, the news, gotta problem with it?" Allison snapped at Buck without meaning to. Eddie frowns as she takes a deep breath and looks his way. "Sorry, Buck. It's a touchy subject..." Allison takes a deep breath.

"Still nothing?"

Allison shakes her head while whispering. "I've pretty much given up hope that they will never be found. They've just up and disappeared..."

Buck then remembered hearing her name somewhere before when he was searching up some news articles just for fun. She was the Allison Morrow. Buck frowns deeply and spoke up.

"I'm sure they'll be found, Allison." Allison looks at him with a curious, and shocked look on her face wondering how he figured it out. "They're bound to slip at some point."

Allison chuckles and stirs the macaroni once more. "You're smart, Buck. I'll give you that. I'm surprised you figured it out."

"I remember reading the news when it happened. I'm sorry about your friend..."

Allison frowns and begins straining the macaroni and then begins cooking the steak a little bit to warm it up while she mixes the other ingredients in the bowl. Buck looks at Eddie after Allison goes silent and Eddie shrugs while walking to the cupboard and began grabbing her bowels and forks.

"I'm not mad at you, Buck." Allison suddenly spoke up making Buck look at her. "As I've mentioned before, it's a touchy subject. But-- thank you..."

Buck gently smiles and nods while helping Eddie set the table.

"Family brunch has been a thing for a little while now, Hermana. Should we just make this a thing now with Buck?"

Allison after mixing the three wonderful ingredients together paused a moment, Allison then looks at Eddie then glances at Buck, and lightly smiles.

"I don't see why not."

"Who knows, Ali," Christopher says looking at her while he walks over after smelling the food, knowing it was done. "Maybe you and Buck will get together."

Both Buck and Allison freeze in their spot making Eddie laugh loudly. Allison rolls her eyes and begins serving the food to everyone as everyone sat down and began chatting with one another. But something was bothering Allison, a nagging feeling was beginning to build in her stomach. Then a knock on her door knocked her out of her thoughts, Allison raised a brow, got up, and looks through the peephole and her stomach drops. She takes a step back and takes a deep breath trying to keep herself composed.

"Ali? What's wrong?"

"..." Allison turns back, and Eddie could see the tears forming in her eyes making him frown and get up and look through the peephole seeing a man standing there, pacing on her doorstep. "... It's one of them..."

"You mean...?"

Eddie opens the door keeping Allison covered, and looks at him. "How can I help you?" Buck walks up behind Allison, putting a hand on her back as sparks flew through her veins when he did that.

"Does Allison Morrow live here?"

"Why?"

"I..." The man spoke taking a deep breath and looking around his surroundings as if he were running from something. "I'm here to drop something off for her."

Allison frowns, wondering what it could be and then he shoves a box in Eddie's arms and rushes off before Eddie could react. Allison looks over his arm sees the box, and gently takes it while Eddie lets her while quietly shutting her door. Christopher was just eating his food ignoring the scenario happening. Allison walks into the kitchen, sifting through one of the drawers to find a box knife and when she finally found one, she opens the box.

"Don't you think we shouldn't open the box?" Buck suggested. "What if it's dangerous?"

Allison glances at him and then back to the box grabbing the item out of it. It was photos that were printed. Blinking a little bit, she opens it gasping dropping them to the ground, and backing herself to the stove. Eddie and Buck look at her while Eddie walks up to the pictures and looks at them.

Eddie frowns and furrows a brow. "Ali, you need to tell Athena they are here."

"You and I both know they will run again," Allison told him with a heavy frown and puts a hand to her chest. "Cops can't and won't do anything..."

"Athena can and will," Buck assured her Allison looked at him and he gently smiles at her. "Look, I know you don't trust me at all, but I promise you Allison - Athena will do something."

Allison takes a deep breath as she begins thinking about it. Maybe Buck was right. After what happened in Texas, maybe the police here in LA would actually find them and arrest them for what they have done. Maybe... She doesn't know if they could, especially since they're felons and could be in a different state by now.

"Okay," Allison told Buck looking at him and Eddie. "Call Athena and let's see what the police here can do better."

It was an hour later when Athena showed up with Bobby. Eddie and Buck both stayed with Christopher while he played the game while Allison told her story to Athena and Bobby. She was skeptical to share her story with strangers since she didn't know them. But she trusts Eddie and if he trusts them, then she should trust them as well.

After what seemed like forever, Allison finished her story while Athena and Bobby were both shocked by what she went through and lost her friend. Athena had brought her hand and touched Allison's hand while Allison looked up startled at her gesture.

"Allison, I'm sorry you went through all of that alone."

Allison shakes her head and takes her other hand and wipes her eyes a little bit. Bobby noticed a semi-colon on her inner wrist but didn't say a word. "I learned to keep to myself, build walls and not trust men because of it." Allison then looks at Bobby, then she glances over to Eddie. "But thanks to Eddie, I'm slowly breaking down that wall."

"I'm glad that Eddie has helped you with that. But you can always call us if you ever need anything," Bobby assures her as she looks back at him. "I promise you not all men are like that."

"I'm figuring it out slowly," Allison tells him with a small smile. "Thank you."

"You're welcome, honey. Now, do you mind if I take these photos and we can run DNA to see if they are here and go from there?"

"Yeah," Allison nods to Athena handing her the photos. "Thank you again, Athena."

"You're welcome hun," Athena touches her shoulder as she and Bobby got up. "I'll keep you posted with whatever we find. Call me if they ever come back or if anything happens. I'll be here before you know it."

"I will, thank you." Allison smiles at her and they both walk out after bidding farewell to everyone. "I suppose it's getting late." She turns to Christopher who was playing the game intensely. "Come on, buddy, Dad needs to get you to bed."

"No," Christopher jokingly says making her giggle while Eddie turns it off. They all say goodbyes and see you later as they walked out not before Christopher hugs her tightly making her hug him just as tight. "Can I come over tomorrow?"

"I don't see why not," Allison told him rubbing his head and kissing his head while he grins and begins heading to the car. "See you later guys."

"Give me your phone," Buck spoke quickly making her look at him and then holding out her phone to him as he gently takes it while he puts his number in. "If he ever comes back, I'm only five minutes away. I'll come running."

"Ah..." Allison said and gently smiles at him. "Thank you, Buck."

With that, the three leave her while she shuts the door and walks back to her couch and sits down, and sighs. It was five minutes of utter silence in her apartment when another knock came on her door, and she stands up with a small smile on her face.

"Eddie, did you forget some-" She paused when she opened the door and saw him standing there. "Daniel... How did you..."

"I followed Matthew here and figured he'd drop off those photos to you," Daniel spoke with a smirk and leans against the doorframe making Allison's heart pound against her chest. She knew if she tried anything, he's much bigger and stronger than her, and didn't want to risk anything. "Trust me, sweetheart, if I wanted to do something, I'd done it by now. You should know that."

"What the hell do you want?"

"Feisty, just as I remember." Daniel chuckled and leaned towards her making her frown as she reaches into her pocket and quickly dials Buck's number and kept the phone quiet and off, so he didn't know what she did. "Did you think going to the cops was gonna do anything like stop me?"

He walks into her apartment and slams the door shut making her jump as she backs up to the counter and watches him while taking a deep breath and looking up at him. He puts a hand on her bicep and grips it making her flinch while his grip tightens. She glares at him while he smirks leaning toward her and bringing her up to him.

"You can't run this time like you did at the park. No wonder your best friend died that night, she was fun to play with."

"You made her bleed internally!" Allison snaps at him as she tries to get out of his grip but he keeps his hold. "Don't think I've forgotten about that, Daniel."

"I wanted you to remember," smirks Daniel pushing her to the ground and making her grunt as she landed on her shoulder, hard. "That way, whenever this interaction happened again - it plagues your mind even more."

Allison glares up at him, trying not to wince in pain. She knew she dislocated her shoulder when she fell but she didn't want to let him know that. Daniel smirks even more down at her as he gets ready to take off his shirt but then the door slams open.

"Get away from her!"
