Tears flooded (Y/N)'s eyes as she looked at his soft green eyes. He looked back at her, standing up and brushed the dirt off of him. The tears soon faded as she reminded herself that she won't cry over him again. She was angry, and looked at the boy with fire in her eyes. She scanned him and saw that he still looked the same. Taller than her, soft brown hair, still 18.
He mumbled "shit." and looked away from (Y/N).
"Is it just me or do I see little ol' five?" Klaus blurted.
(Y/N) broke through Luther and Diego's arms and stared at five. "How could you?" She cried. "You promised me you wouldn't leave." Five looked at her with sympathy in his eyes. "(Y/N)-" "I don't want to hear it." She stormed inside straight to her room.
He looked at the others and saw their disapproving looks and the shock on their faces. "Shit."
*Timeskip*
(Y/N) leaned on the counter, next to Klaus, who had his hand patting her shoulder. Five was jumping everywhere to get the supplies to make a sandwich.
"What's the date? The exact date?" He asked.
"The 24th." Allison replied.
"Of what?" He said harshly. (Y/N) rolled her eyes.
"March." Allison replied again, confused glances looking between him and Luther.
"Good." He looked up and met (Y/N)'s eyes, but immediately looked away.
"Are we going to talk about what happened? It's been 14 years!" Luther stuttered.
No one answered and it left an uncomfortable science in the room. Five rolled his eyes and replied to him, breaking the awkward tension.
"It's been much longer than that." He looked at (Y/N) again, and kept the eye contact.
This time (Y/N) looked away and back down at the floor. He jumped through Luther to grab an item off of the shelf.
"I didn't miss that." Luther muttered and (Y/N) lightly smiled.
She saw five looking at her and she immediately broke eye contact again as she looked around the room.
"Where'd you go?" Diego asked.
"The future. It's shit by the way." Five replied tiredly.
"Called it!" Klaus yelled, going for a high-five with (Y/N), which she gladly returned.
Five continued his speech about spacial jumps until he looked at Klaus.
"Nice skirt."
"Well Danke!" Klaus replied in German.
"How did you get back?" Vanya questioned.
"I had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exsists across every possible instance of time." Five said.
(Y/N) smirked as she saw her sibling's confused faces.
"That.. that doesn't make any sense." Diego said.
"It would if you were smarter." Five retorted.
"How long were you there?" Luther interrogated.
"43 years." He raised his eyes from his sandwich to look at his family's reaction.
Their faces displayed a look of shock and confusion.
Klaus choked on his drink.
"Wait, so you're like 56?"
"No. My consciousness is like 56. I'm apparently 18 again." Five said sighing.
(Y/N) looked up at him and frowned. She felt the same as him, since she didn't age either.
"Wait, how does that even work?" Vanya quizzed.
"Well, Delores kept saying the equations were wrong." (Y/N) shook her head and felt a feeling that she hasn't felt in a long time. Jealousy.
"Who's Delores?" Vanya asked.
Five ignored her and picked up a newspaper that laid right infront of him. "Guess I missed the funeral huh?"
"How did you know about that?"
"What part of the future do you not understand?" Five said, angry at his siblings for not thinking straight.
He grabbed his sandwhich and started walking out of the room. "Nice to see nothing changed."
"That's all you're going to say?" Allison yelled out to him.
"What else is there to say?" He yelled back.
"That was interesting." (Y/N) rolled her (eye color) eyes and soon left the kitchen and made her way to her room. Of course, since she and five were close when they were children, they had bedrooms right across from each other.
At that moment, she despised having her bedroom right across from him. She remembered when he promised her that he wouldn't be stupid during breakfast and that he would just try to make a conversation with dad, but boy did that go wrong.
*FLASHBACK*
"(Y/N), Do you think dad would let me start using my spacial jumps?" He asked.
"What do you think?" She replied, staring into the ceiling waiting for breakfast.
"He's probably going to say ye-" he started.
"You mean no." (Y/N) finished for him. "Five, think about it. It's dad we're talking about. He's cold hearted and seriously strict."
"Yeah I guess you're right but it won't stop me from talking to him."
"Be my guest Five. But you have to promise me something.." she said, sitting up and looking into his eyes.
"What is it?" He asked, impatient.
"Don't leave me."
"(Y/N).."
"Five promise me. Don't leave me here." She pleaded and watched as five looked down at the floor.
"Okay (N/N). I promise you."
Then the bell rang. The two of you raced downstairs. You both went and stood by your chairs. (Y/N) looked down at the table. Allison and Luther sat across from each other, then Klaus and Diego and finally her and Five. Vanya sat at the end of the table next to her and five, while dad sat at the top of the table. Hargreeves walked into the room. "Sit." He commanded. The eight followed his command and sat down and started digging into the food Grace prepared for them. (Y/N) looked around and saw five suddenly stand.
He slammed his knife into the table to grab everyone's attention.
"A little extra, don't ya think?" (Y/N) mumbled.
"I have a question."
"Five, you are breaking my rules. One, you are talking during the meal, and two you're interrupting Herr Carlson." Dad said, not lifting his gaze from the food underneath him.
"I'm ready for time travel." Ignoring evryone's stares, he looked straight at dad.
"No." Dad blankly said.
"but I'm ready!" Five argued. He jumped to his father to show. "I've been practicing, just like you said."
"Well time travel is different than spacial jumps. One is like sliding on the ice, while the other is similar to descending blindly into freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." Dad said, in a matter of fact tone.
"I don't get it." Five mumbled.
"Hence why you are not ready." Dad said to him, and took a bite from his food.
"But I'm not scared!" Five said. "Fear isn't the issue. It's what happens to the body and mind. Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore." Five scoffed and ran out of the room and straight to the front door.
"Five!" (Y/N) yelled and chased after him.
"Number Five! Hey! Number Zero! You two have not been excused!" Dad yelled after you two. Five was way out the door by the time (Y/N) got there. "Five! You promised me!" She yelled after him, but he didn't hear her. He was long gone.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
There was furious knocking on the door. (Y/N) prayed that it wasn't five. And thankfully, it was only Klaus.
"Hey favorite sibling."
"Hi Klaus- err, favorite sibling."
"Whatcha up to?" He asked.
"nada. Do you need something?"
"I'm going to raid dad's stuff, wanna go with me?"
"Hell yeah." (Y/N) said, her mind now focused on finding out why she hasn't aged.
"Great! Let's go! Dad's funeral is happening soon."
