Three

"Callum, it's been only two months since Rayla left." Ezra said.

"I've never felt more lifeless." I mutter.

I sat on the bed looking down. I always look down. I can't seem to feel happiness anymore. I've tried but every time it subsides because I know Rayla's gone. She left. It's been two months and I wonder if she'll ever come back.

"You have to give her time." He said.

"I've given her plenty of time." I mutter.

He put his hand on my shoulder.

"I feel nothing. I feel like I'm nothing. I have no purpose. My existence is meaningless." I say.

Ezra let out a laugh. I look at him confused.

"Of course you do! You're my big brother. You're the greatest mage in the kingdom." He said.

It's all meaningless. I let out a breath.

"You think she'll ever come back?" I ask.

"Of course she will." Ezra smiled.

A servant walked in.

"Your majesty you have another meeting today." She said.

He nods. He walks off. Being king is hard. He has a purpose in life. I don't. I let out a breath. Maybe sleep will help heal my heart. I hear something. I turn. I see a ball of black fire. For a moment I thought I was seeing things. I rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't losing my mind. Nope. I open the window. I look at it.

"Come with me, if you desire a purpose." It said.

I looked at it with eyes wide open.
