Tony

Here's an interesting update. There's a fucking thousand-year-old vampire in my guest room.

That's right. I don't know what's going on in Andrea's mind that she thought that it's a good idea to put an Original Vampire in house arrest...next to my bedroom.

I'm at the beach right now. I let Andrea do whatever she wanted but I told her that I wasn't going to help her drag The Vampire King's body across the house. Yes, that's very un-gentlemanly of me, but she's a freaking tribrid, she can carry whoever she wants.

I got scared for her, though. Earlier, when Klaus confronted us, she almost looked like she was gonna have another episode. And my heart was breaking just remembering that scene. Goddammit, I really am in love with her, aren't I? The littlest things she does, I appreciate. The littlest things that could not even hurt her, scares me.

"Excuse me..." someone said from behind me.

I looked around to see a man with dark brown hair, with relatively thin beard, and mustache, blue eyes that are almost grey-ish, dressed in very weird clothing and, for some reason, a very weird aura surrounding him.

"Can you help me?" The man said.

I furrowed my eyebrows as I scanned the man before me. Before I could get a word out, his confused expression turned into one of surprise.

"You're Tony Stank!" He exclaimed.

Now that's just insulting.

"And you're the Furry Hippie." I retorted. "It's Stark."

He laughed lightly before nodding. "Right. Tony Stark." He then just smiled and stared at me before approaching me further. "I'm Kai, by the way. It's such a pleasure to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, too, Whiskers." I just responded, but I kept my distance as he kept nearing me. My action seemed to have been weird for him because when I took a step back, he narrowed his eyes and tilted his head before grinning.

"What do you need? This is a private beach so you better hurry up." I asked so I could get this over with.

"Well, I was wondering if you could get me in touch with a friend of mine." He said. "See, I left her here, and she's been running around playing hero. Her name's Hope."

This man is just as weird as he looks. He even looked like he's just messing with me.

"No. I'm sorry, I can't help you." I answered.

This...Kai...he clasped his hands together and slowly nodded, as if still observing my expression and my body language. This conversation just became weird as hell. I should just kick him out of my property. For all I know, he could just be a stalker.

"Nice watch." He said.

I looked down to see the watch that Andrea gave me. The vervain watch.

"It was a gift." I simply answered.

I was about to tell him to leave when he muttered something under his breath. I furrowed my brows at him as I approached him, taunting him.

"What was that?" I asked. If he's cursing me under his breath, I'm going to knock him out. I have a freaking tribrid for a trainer. I will kick his ass.

"Nothing." He grinned. "Thank you so much for your help."

That's all he said before he turned around and walked away. I've had it with weird things today. I already have a lot on my plate.

"Sir, I didn't find anything on the Hybrid Curse. All I have is the Sun and—"

"Shut up, J.A.R.V.I.S.!" I whisper-yelled.

We are in a house with two people who have super hearing. The least we could do is be a little quiet and discreet about what we're doing.

"My apologies, sir." He responded. "The Sun and the Moon curse has the same requirements as the spell you have but for a different purpose."

As I sat in front of my computer in my basement, I clutched onto the piece of crispy old paper that contained the spell that Klaus asked Andrea to do. Klaus said the spell was about the Hybrid curse and that the Sun and the Moon curse was just a cover-up.

"What's the Sun and the Moon curse about?" I whispered to myself.

"The Sun and the Moon—"

"J.A.R.V.I.S. I wasn't asking you, go take a nap."

It's better if that A.I. remains quiet for a while, less chance of us getting caught. I proceeded to read through the very limited sources about the Sun and the Moon Curse.

It is said that the curse contains the spell that keeps the vampires weakened by the sun and the werewolves turning every full moon, making them "servants of the moon" and "slaves to the sun." It has been a battle of the two species to break this curse ever since it was known, considering that whichever side does the spell, their curse will be the one broken while the others' would be truly permanent.

That actually sounds so true. It sounds so detailed and fantastical that it's very easy to believe it. Especially when it sounds like hope to vampires and werewolves, a hope to be relieved of their suffering.

But if that's not true, then what the fuck is the real curse all about?

"Sir." J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice came in again.

"Didn't I tell you it's bedtime?" I told him.

"You did. But I'm sensing some weird activity in Ms. Andrea's neural oscillations." He said. I couldn't help but lean forward as I furrowed my brows. "I think she's having a nightmare."

"Thanks, J.A.R.V.I.S." I said before standing up from my swivel chair and making my way upstairs to Andrea's room.

She's already having a hard time when awake, now her brain wants her to suffer too while asleep? She just can't catch a break.

By the time I got to the halls where the bedrooms are located, I saw Andrea's door partially open. Just standing a few feet from her bedroom, I can already hear strange noises. Papers flying, glass shattering, the radio continuously changing stations. Something was wrong.

As I neared the open door, the louder the noise got and the heavier the ambiance became. When I opened the door, I forgot for a moment that I was still inside the house, because it looked like I was witnessing a natural disaster right before my eyes.

Almost everything was flying. The lights were flickering; the sound of electricity zapping crystal clear. The change of voices in the radio sounded almost trippy. And the floor looked like a maze because of the many shards of glass that covered it.

When I looked over to Andrea's side, she was sitting upright, her eyes closed, and her hands slightly extended with her fingers softly waving.

"Andrea, what are you doing?!" I shouted, trying to be loud enough to defeat that noise that swallowed the whole room.

"It seems Ms. Andrea is still dreaming." J.A.R.V.I.S. said in the background.

She's doing all this while asleep? If she can do this while she's asleep, then how much more so when she's awake.

This actually made me want to treat her more kindly than constantly tease her about basically everything. The last thing I want is to be on the other end of those shards of glass.

"Shit." I cursed under my breath as I scanned the floor, figuring out where to step to avoid getting cut.

One step at a time, I made my way towards the bed where Andrea was sitting but still deep in slumber. That must be one hell of a nightmare to be causing this much disaster. When I reached her, I extended my hand to grab her arm.

"Andre—" I was cut off because the moment I touched her arm, I felt the air being knocked out of my lungs at the same time my throat started to close up.

I was choking.

I was suffocating to the point that I've knelt to the ground, some of the little shards digging into my skin but I felt almost numb to it because of the lack of oxygen entering my lungs.

"An—" I tried calling out to her, reaching out to her, but every time my hand would touch her, the feeling would get worse, as if she doesn't want anyone touching her.

How am I supposed to wake her?

Seconds passed by, and my head started to become dizzy. I-I don't know if the room is really spinning or it's just me. Either way, it was causing me to feel even worse.

With one last strength I could muster up, I choked out her name.

"Andrea!"

I almost missed seeing Andrea's eyelids unfold, her frightened blue eyes scanning the room before it landed on me. I was about to lose consciousness when everything, including what she was doing to me, stopped. The rush of air that entered my lungs was a fucking relief before I collapse to the floor, not caring if some shards of glass were scraping against my arms.

For a moment there, I thought I was going to die. I've always joked about dying in Andrea's hands would be the best way to go. But with new information being revealed such as the fact that I'm in love with her, changed that. I wasn't ready to die, not when she still has no idea what I feel about her.

For some reason, that's what I was scared of.

"I'm sorry." I heard her say, the strain in her voice straining my heart. "I'm sorry."

Just like that she was out of the house, leaving me to catch my breath on the floor of her bedroom.

"Mother—" I clamped my mouth shut to stop the series of cuss words that were blasting out of me like a rifle gun while I treated every wound I gained from just stepping into Andrea's bedroom.

Of all the people I chose to be in love with, I fell in love with the scariest creature on Earth. The fact that I fell in love was crazy enough, but falling in love in a span of a few days with a woman who's part vampire, part witch, and part werewolf? Yeah, I don't think 'insane' covers it.

I don't even know what to do with it. I mean, should I tell her? Should I not? Rejection is something I rarely come across with but I have a feeling that I'll experience it greatly when it comes to her. I mean, she does find me stubborn and annoying.

"You've got all of them, sir." J.A.R.V.I.S. said, pertaining to the wounds that I was cleaning. Finally, I thought that wasn't going to end.

"Do you know where Andrea ran off to?" I asked J.A.R.V.I.S.

Ever since she ran out after nearly choking me to death—which she didn't mean to do—she sped out of the house. I literally didn't have the strength to run around the city looking for her, considering my knees were bleeding and my back and arms were the same.

"Look out the window." He answered.

I'm in my bedroom which has a large window for a wall that overlooks the view of the beach. And at the sandy shore sat an auburn haired woman, hugging herself as the breeze brushed through her hair and against her skin. She was just sitting there, staring ahead, watching the waves, probably beating herself up because the last thing I saw in her eyes before she ran off was...guilt.

"Watch the Big Bad Vamp for me,will 'ya?" I told J.A.R.V.I.S.

Even though Klaus is spelled in the guest room, I still want to make sure that the loud, scary thing is monitored. The guy has good lungs on him. His scream can wake up the entire city. I know it woke up my entire body, I shivered uncontrollably when he shouted.

"Will do, sir." He answered. I proceeded to walk out the door but not before grabbing a blanket.

I went out to the beach, my shoes sinking into the sand every step I took towards her. Because of how I was struggling to keep my feet from sinking, I'm already 100% sure that Andrea is aware of my presence...Although, she has probably known I was coming since the moment I left the house. The woman does have heightened senses.

"I'm outside for a reason." Andrea said, not sparing a glance towards me as I stood behind her.

"Me too." I responded, but for a different reason.

She didn't say anything. Instead, she just hugged her knees further and buried her face in them. I tilted my head and observed her. Does she get cold? I got a blanket for her, but I don't know if it even has a purpose for her. Maybe she just wants to hug her knees? I don't fucking know, I don't remember reading anything about that.

I just took a shot and wrapped the blanket around her upper body, causing her to lift her head and look at me while I began to take the spot beside her. Then I looked at her..

"I don't actually know if a tribrid can still get cold. But, just in case." I said, my shoulders shrugging.

"And just in case, you should stay away from me." Andrea replied while looking straight into my eyes before averting them towards the view ahead. "If you still haven't noticed, I'm having trouble controlling my magic. I could hurt you again."

"So, you choked me, what's the big deal?" I said. Well, I almost died. But, I didn't. So, that counts for something, I guess? "I mean, I do have kinks."

I didn't exactly like it because I couldn't breathe for so long. But, I don't have to tell her that.

To my surprise, I saw a smile stretch on her lips followed by a short, soft laugh. When I say that making her smile or laugh is an achievement, I mean it. And this one, this one feels like I just won a championship.

"Okay, how do you do that?" She asked.

I scrunch my eyebrows, faking my confusion. "Do what?" I asked. But my fake innocence was soon broken when I felt how contagious her smile was that one made its way on my lips. When she smiles, you can't help but smile as well.

"That! We'd have a serious conversation and then you come in and make everything seem lighter, like I didn't just nearly kill you in there." She pointed out.

"Because you're too...dark and gloomy! If I'm dark and gloomy too then we'd be fucking depressed. We need balance as a dynamic duo." I responded.

Andrea's the type of woman that is always dark and serious. The type that would not smile unless you give her a reason to. The type that would not smile unless you worked hard for it.

Suddenly, she looked at me, her eyes narrowing while she tries to hold back her laugh.

"We're a dynamic duo?"

"That's what Clarke called us."

"And you're listening to him because...?"

"Because it's the only decent thing that came out of his mouth!"

When she finally let go and laughed even louder and longer than she's ever laughed before, I swear I felt my heart jump out of my chest. I've always called bullshit on what love supposedly does to us when I see them in movies. I've always said how exaggerated they are. That everything they portray about what love feels like is a fake.

But with Andrea, I feel like I can be cast as a romantic in one of those cheesy rom-com movies. Her laugh was like music to my ears. A sound that I want to listen to for the rest of my life because God knows how much she deserves to be happy after everything she went through and is still going through.

When she laughed, I could not contain the laugh that escaped me as well.

The two of us just laughing lasted for a couple of seconds longer before we were once again swallowed by silence. All we could hear was the splashing of the waves in the background. And normally, I would've said silence is just another word for awkwardness.

However, silence with her feels right. Like, there's nothing in this word that could make me awkward or bored of her even if she just stayed silent for hours. Just seeing her was enough.

"We can be friends, you know." I said. "Not just allies."

We're great together. Yes, we always annoy each other, but that's what makes us so fit together as friends, and maybe more than that but I don't want to get my hopes up just yet.

"You want to be my friend?" She asked, her eyebrows shooting upwards.

Why is she so surprised? Doesn't she have friends back home? Everyone would be lucky to have her as a friend. Having an all-powerful tribrid by your side, we'll be unstoppable!

"Yeah, why not? You can make me the most powerful man in the world and I can...fetch you blood bags." I joked.

Joking aside, it would be really fun if she and I could just treat each other as friends instead of feeling like I'm going to work every time I meet her in my kitchen.

"Wow, what a start to a beautiful friendship!" She said. I've taken note of her sarcasm, but I still agree.

I simply laughed and for a moment, I actually forgot that we were too different from one another. That we're just two people hanging out in the beach, laughing. We should do this more often.

"And then at the end of every day, we can sit out here and just...talk." I said, my gaze fixed on the view in front of us, not bothering to look at her at this very moment because I knew that looking straight into her yes, she'd notice that behind them, I'm actually feeling some strong emotions I've never felt before towards any woman I've ever met.

God, I'm really in love with this woman. So much that it scares me. Because the stronger I love her, the stronger it will hurt when something goes wrong.

I've experienced a lot in life enough to know that there's always consequences for merely being too happy. Because that's life, it's always fucking unfair.

fun fact: this chapter used to be where the epilogue was written skksksksk. You see how short this book was?

In this rewrite, you'll get to see so much more. (Maybe even see Hope as an avenger, who knows? Oh, that's right. Me)

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Sassy Jarvis will be back in the next chapter <3
