2. Sᴀᴍᴀɴᴛʜᴀ
Samantha hated to be late. She would rather be in the place one hour earlier than five minutes after the time. That was the reason why she was up so early. Nobody was up yet, so she could get dress and eat breakfast calmly. It was 7.15 am when she started preparing breakfast. Looking at the hours she knew her mother would be up soon, so she decided to prepare the meal for everyone. She was starting to eat her pancakes when the footsteps on the stairs were heard.
"I was going to make you breakfast!" Her mom whined, making her way to the fridge.
"Well, I made you breakfast instead." She shrugged, smiling. "Will you pick us up from school later?"
"Yeah, of course." She sat at the table. "Where's your sister?"
"Oh..." She looked at the kitchen door. "She must have eaten something bad at the party. She wasn't feeling well."
Her mom looked at Samantha and sighed.
"Poor girl. Maybe I should check on her." Samantha got alarmed and shook her head while drinking her milk.
"No need. I went there before getting down. Actually, I'm going to take her something light to see if she can go to school later. She wanted to come with me, but I thought it would only make her even sicker. The schools have all kinds of smells. It's disgusting, really." Samantha made a disgusted face like she just smelled something bad.
"I love how you take care of each other. It's so heartwarming." She placed a hand on top of her heart. "You two are truly a blessing."
Samantha smiled, with a mouth full of pancake. If mom only knew how many times, she took care of Mirabella without their parents knowing. If it wasn't covering up for her it was by holding her hair while she puked. If it wasn't by helping her sneaking out, it was by sobering her up. She couldn't understand how her sister kept on repeating the same mistakes time after time. Once, Samantha almost chocked while smoking a joint. She never did it again. Unlike her sister, she understood when something wasn't good for her. After finishing breakfast, as she said to her mother, she took some bread and an apple to her sister. She knew Mirabella wasn't going to eat that, but her mother needed to be tricked. She searched for a piece of paper and a pen and when she finally found it, she wrote a note.
You ate something bad at the party. You wanted to go to school.
She placed it next to the food and left. Said good morning to her dad who was getting out of the bathroom and kissed her mother goodbye when she found her at the stairs.
"Have a nice first day!"
"Thanks, mom!" She replied before starting to make her way to the bus stop.
She put her earphones on her ears and choose a song to hear while waiting for the bus. Like promised, the school bus arrived at 8.07 am and she and a bunch of other kids hoped in. It was only a ten-minute ride, so when she arrived at the school headquarters, she took her sweet time. There were kids everywhere, some of them already in groups, chatting, some by themselves, some dressed like it was a ball, some like they didn't even know they were out a bed. She smiled. If she was here, she was going to make the must of it. People seemed nice, maybe she would try to make friends after the class's presentation. An incredible loud motor noise snapped her out of her thoughts, and she looked back. A shiny yellow car parked in front of the building with 3 people on it. The girl on the back was rolling her eyes while the boy was making out with the one on the front. Samantha understood very well what the stranger was feeling. A lot of people started to approach the car, looking very excited. Were they like the Beckham's from Bristol? Eventually, the kisser girl got out of the car and that was when Samantha noticed. Twins, just like her and Mirabella. And what amazed her the most was the different clothing. Just like her and Mirabella.
"C'mon Em!" The girl shouted and once again the girl on the back seat rolled her eyes.
With some difficulty, Em left the car and followed her sister. The click of her twin high hells announced her arrival when she was passing by Samantha and soon enough a lot of girls surrounded her, almost knocking Samantha down. She quickly got out of that mob and headed inside trying to find the place where the presentations were going to take place. She soon realized she would need a map for the first days. The school was huge, and she would easily get lost in there. When she finally reached the gym, the stands were already with a lot of people, which made her choice of seats easier. She sat in the middle of the stand, next to the door, and waited for it to start. At 8.35 am, five minutes later than what said in the e-mails, the teachers arrived, and she took her notebook and pencil out of her backpack. The headmistress checked the microphone and started to talk.
"Welcome students. We are very, very, very happy to have you here and to be part of your journey in the upcoming years. I'm your headmistress, Mrs.Lawes and this is your principal, Doug. This year we have new faculty members that, such as me and Doug are here to help you in the best possible way."
The woman couldn't keep talking. The sound of the door being opened ruined her speech and three boys entered the gym.
"Excuse me, gentleman?" She caught their attention.
"We are so sorry. We couldn't find the gym." One of them said. He had a nice hat over his head and was smiling politely.
"Okay. Just take a seat." She demanded, rolling her eyes and continuing to speak. "As I was saying..."
Cook followed his friends to the available seats. They would have to squeeze but better that than stay each one in a different place. Cook's eyes scanned the room. He wasn't looking for anything in particular, just admiring the pair of boobs in front of him, and then his eyes caught her.
Mirabella happened to be rising her head and found a creepy lad looking at her. She gave him a hard look and he smiled. She quickly became confused and turned her head to the notebook on her lap. What the fuck?
Cook spent half of the time staring at Mirabella, hoping she would lookup. But she never did, she seemed extremely invested in what she was writing, and her eyes never left the paper. Eventually, he started to make conversation with the blonde next to him. He knew her from the previous years.
"We could have a good time. I can even show you my tattoo. It's in a nasty place..." He said to her, smiling brighter.
"Leave me the fuck alone, Cook!" She groaned getting his face away from her.
"Naomi, you don't have to fuck alone, I can fuck you. You know that."
"Hey, you up there!" The headmistress's voice was heard. "Do you mind sharing what's more important than the list of things students are not allowed to do?"
"I was just trying to convince my colleague here to see my tattoo."
"Oh really? Why don't you show us all your amazing tattoo? I'm sure we all want to see it."
"Miss, I don't think you would like to see it." He said, on the verge of laughing, amused.
By this time Samantha's eyes were up, looking at the scene, curious with what would happen next.
"What's your name?" Doug asked him.
"Cook."
"Well... Cook, your superior just gave you a direct order. The only wise thing to do is to follow it." He warned him, smiling in a kind, but terrifying way.
"Okay then. No problem." He got up from his seat.
His friends were gesticulating, saying no, but he didn't listen. Instead, he dropped both his pants and boxers to his ankles and opened his arms, smiling.
Samantha, like the rest of the people, gasped. She couldn't believe what she was seeing, but she also couldn't take her eyes out of it. Cook had a tattoo in his groin. She couldn't understand what it was, but he seemed very proud of it. She tried to not look at his dick, to just focus on his tattoo. But it was hard, the dick was right next to the ink! The chaos was installed, the headmistress was red like a tomato and in no control of the situation, at all.
"Pull your pants up immediately! Get down here!" She shouted, angry, pointing a finger at him.
By now most of the students were laughing wildly. Cook included. He did as demanded and jump out of his seat.
"Miss Woods will tell you what class you are in. The rest of the information is in the brochure that will be delivered to you on your way out." The headmistress said, grabbing Cook by the arm and dragging him out of the gym. Cook laughed to his classmates, giving them a wink.
Samantha looked at the boy, shocked. He was trouble. Samantha always stayed away from trouble.
Miss Woods gave a few steps forward until she reached the microphone.
"Good morning. Please say your name once I... No, no sorry." Some students laughed; the teacher closed her eyes. "If I say your name, please raise your hand." She started to read the names of the first class. Samantha tried to pick everyone's faces, just in case, it was hers.
"Mirabella Cooper." She said.
Samantha raised her hand.
"She's my sister, but she couldn't be here today."
"Oh, okay..." Miss Woods said, writing something on the paper.
"Samantha Cooper."
Once again, Samantha raised her hand.
"Is she your sister too?" Miss Woods asked.
"No, I'm Samantha..."
Again, some students laughed. Miss Woods shook her head.
"Yeah, right. James Cook."
Samantha sighed. Of course, the troublemaker would be in the same class as her. The teacher kept on talking. Samantha took some notes of her new classmates. Freddie, JJ, Elizabeth, Naomi, Emily, Kathrine, Pandora, Richard, Madison, that guy Cook. Once the presentation was over, Samantha caught the brochure on her way out and started to read it. There said she could choose any available locker and so, she started the search for one. Once she found it, she opened it.
"Don't people clean these lockers?" She talked to herself, seeing the dust inside of her new locker. On the door, there was a drawing glued there. The previous owner must have left it there. It was a lovely dog, with the tongue hanging out of the mouth. She snatched de drawing, reading the artist's name. Maxxie. Whoever that was, was talented.
"What a surprise seeing you here." Samantha jumped in her place when she heard someone whispering in her ear.
She looked to the side, and almost smacked her head in Cook's. He was incredibly close to her. Why was he talking to her? He was smiling brightly and then gave her some space.
"Do you need anything?" She asked, looking at the stranger.
"Repeat the shag would be asking for much?" He supported his body by stretching his arm and spread his hand on the locker.
Samantha gave him a look of disgust, now turning to be face to face to him.
"Excuse me, do I know you?"
"C'mon love, don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about."
She had no fucking clue about what he was talking about. But before she could tell him that, Mirabella's voice reached the hall.
"Wassup lads? The trouble arrived!"
Samantha stretched her neck to see her sister in a full glory entrance. Everyone was looking at her. This girl couldn't be anonymous.
"What..." Cook's head snapped from Mirabella to Samantha. Then from Samantha to Mirabella. "Are you twins?" He asked when Mirabella was close enough.
"No, I have no idea who this girl is." Mirabella looked at her sister confused, and Samantha smiled.
"Really? Wow."
"Of course, we are sisters you twat!" Mirabella rolled her eyes and Samantha laughed. "What did I miss Sammy?"
"Do you know him?" Samantha dismissed her sister's question.
"Ah yeah, I rode him last night." She looked at Cook.
Samantha made a face.
"That explains a lot."
Cook was now leaning against the locker, between the twins.
"You thought she was me?"
"You two look the same." He shrugged.
"Yeah, is something common between twins." Samantha said. "Did mom or dad talk to you?" She was now ignoring the boy's presence.
"No, they were already gone. What did you say to them last night?"
"That you caught the wrong bus."
"I don't know what I would do without you." She reached for her sister, hugging her.
"You would probably be at a boarding school." Both of them laugh.
"Sweeeet." Cook said, watching the scene.
"You're gross." Samantha said to him.
JJ and his other friend arrived, not giving Cook a chance to answer.
"Hey lads, this is Bella and Sammy."
"It's Samantha, actually." She said, looking at the two boys.
JJ was looking at the girls with his mouth open.
"This here is JJ, but you already know that Bella."
"You are the girl shouting at us last night." JJ said. "I'm so sorry for cutting the line. I tried to tell Cook that it was better to go to the end, but he didn't listen."
"I never do." He laughed. "This is Freddie." He said, referring to the lad with the hat.
"Now that everyone knows each other. Can I arrange my locker now?" Samantha asked. Turning to her locker and cleaning it with a tissue.
"Yeah... I have to go anyways." The Freddie dude said and left the small group.
Samantha didn't want to get along with Cook, but now it seemed that that wish wouldn't come true.
"What's with the attitude Sammy?" Mirabella asked.
"What attitude?" She asked back, closing her locker and putting the padlock she brought from home on it.
The bell ran, Samantha looked at the timetable.
"You are in my class by the way." She gave it to Mirabella.
"Do you want to skip it?" Cook started talking again. '
"No!" JJ and Samantha said at the same time.
"We are already late. We should go." JJ plead.
"Nah... I'm with Cook." Mirabella said.
"I knew I could count on you, love."
"Bella, don't start the year this way." Samantha said, looking at her sister.
"Sammy, live a little please." Her sister smiled at her.
"I think I'll pass." She passed through Mirabella. "Would you make me company JJ?" She asked the curly-headed boy.
"Ah..." He stared at her, then to Cook, then to her again. "Yes, of course! It would be my pleasure." He shook his head affirmatively.
"How cute." Cook said when both were already far, and Mirabella laughed.
"Do you want to smoke a spliff?"
"Now you're talking." He answered and Mirabella grabbed his hand and pulled him so they could share a joint.
