Chapter One

"One thing you'd never hear me say is that I'm tired of living." β€” Soddiken

It started out on a stormy Monday morning, and Y/N was getting ready for their new school. They finished eating their toast, said goodbye to their parents, and headed off to school. Once they went outside, they saw their friend wave to them from across the street. They waved back at them, and before they could leave, their friend asked them, "Hey, so... which school are you going to now? I'm just curious. "Oh... I'm going to Paper High School." Y/N says. "I... I've heard some strange rumors about that school from (Other Friend Name). She says that the teachers there are really strict... but not to a normal degree. Anyway, I hope you have good luck at your new school!" "Thanks?" They said with slight hesitation as they hurried towards their new school.

Once Y/N finally arrived at the school, they were greeted by some of the other students. Some of them, however, were not as welcoming. They had paper balls thrown at them a couple of times by two other people before they went into the building. They were given a schedule by one of the teachers, who had unusually long and spiked black hair. It almost looked like a Christmas tree to them. They went off to their 1st period class, and the teacher had them introduce themselves to the rest of the class.
Yet another horrible ritual of becoming a new student.

The teacher pointed towards an empty desk towards the back of the classroom. Y/N walked over to their new desk when they realized who they were sitting next to. It was those two pranksters from earlier. They remembered from earlier that their names were Oliver and Zip. They stared at Y/N for a few seconds before going back to doodling something in their school notebook. Y/N went back to staring at the teacher and realized that she was the same woman who gave them their schedule from earlier. She was waiting for everyone to finally stop talking before she began the lesson. Once everyone did as expected, she called for attendance, and once she got to Y/N, she still took a moment to process who they were before she started talking about calculus.

"Hey, new kid!" Oliver whispered to Y/N as he nudged their shoulder to grab their attention. Y/N glances over slightly to Oliver before being interrupted by Miss Circle, who prompted him to be silent, almost in a threatening tone. She glanced at Y/N as well but didn't seem as nearly as mad. After we were done with our trigonometry lesson, the time came to do our homework for the day. This time, Zip was attempting to write a message on her homework assignment and show it to Y/N, but before she could do that, she was stopped abruptly, once again, by Miss Circle. She stared with pure rage, with almost a sadistic manner as well.

Once class was over and the passing period had started, Y/N caught a glimpse of a tall figure carrying something in its hand, which looked to be a teaching tool. They saw another shadow running away at full speed away from the other while beginning to gasp for air. They crept silently and slowly across the wall to get a better view of the scene, only to be hit with a sense of guilt and be driven away. They had to get to their next class on time, especially considering the strict standards held up by the school. Still, they felt as though they would need to know what exactly was going on there and who the tall, lanky figure was.

End of Chapter 1

(A/N): I'm sorry that I made this chapter so short. I just didn't want it to feel overwhelming for the first chapter. I still enjoyed making this, and I hope that at least some of you enjoyed reading this as much as I did. Stay tuned for chapter 2 in the near future.
