Iwaizumi gripped onto Y/N's fragile hand. He quickly intertwined his fingers with hers.
Iwaizumi glanced at her with a soft, but sad look.
"Couldn't you have told me earlier?"
"I regret not telling you. But I knew it would worry you."
Y/N slightly pushed herself up on the hospital bed.
"You have so much to live for Iwaizumi. You have exams and graduation coming up anyway."
"I couldn't leave you Y/N. Knowing what the doctor said, I couldn't leave your side."
His grip grew tighter on her hand.
The tension in the room was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
Suddenly, the heart monitor started to beep irregularly
Y/N started to slump down in the hospital bed
Iwaizumi panicked as it went irregular. He pressed the emergency button as quick as he could.
As soon as he pressed it, doctors and nurses started to rush in.
"Iwaizumi, I'm sorry. I love you so much."
"Y/N, you aren't gonna die!"
The nurses started to rush him out of the room.
He yelled out, "I love you Y/N!"
She smiled at him softly, before closing her eyes.
Iwaizumi woke up in cold sweat, anxiety rushing to him.
"It was a nightmare, about that night.." He mumbled.
"I just can't forget that look on her face."
He checked his alarm, 6:30.
He got up and went to the shower.
As soon as he got out, he set up an outfit
(You can choose which one.)
As he walked down the stairs, he saw your leather bag sitting on his floor.
Memories rushed in, from when he went on his first date with you.
"Come on, Iwaizumi! Strawberry milkshakes are the best thing known to man!" She said, as she got a napkin from her leather bag.
He wasn't even able to look at strawberries anymore.
You absolutely loved strawberries.
He was disappointed that he couldn't even do anything without thinking of you.
He left his living room and slowly closed the front door.
Iwaizumi's POV
I arrived at school, on time for practice.
I headed over to the gymnasium, hearing many girls squealing Tooru's name.
The door slid open with Tooru facing me.
"Iwa-Chan, let's have a good practice, okay?"
"Okay."
I walked off, with his eyes at the back of my head.
As he set to me, I missed the spike.
My eyes started to droop slightly
I kept missing spikes over and over again.
Tooru walked over.
"Iwa, are you okay?"
He sent me a soft and caring look.
"I'm fine, just really exhausted."
"You can leave early, alright?"
"Alright, but just a few more spikes."
After perfecting my spikes,
I did a simple nod to Tooru as I went to the locker room to change.
I left the locker room and headed to class.
I couldn't pay attention in class ever since her death.
It felt like I was incapable to do anything.
I loved her so much.
It almost feels like everyone forgot about her.
None brought her up after her death.
And now her desk just sits in the corner of the room.
Like she never existed.
Third Person POV
Iwaizumi silently put his head on his desk while the teacher was starting her lecture.
His classmates glanced at him with a worried look.
For weeks on end, Iwaizumi had been acting odd.
He no longer focused on volleyball or his classes.
The bell rang and the class was dismissed.
Iwaizumi rushed to his locker and then left the school.
As he turned on the light in his living room, he saw the leather bag from this morning.
Come to think of it, he never checked the bag.
Iwaizumi made his way over to the bag and looked through it.
While he was looking through, he found a notepad.
He opened it and read what she wrote.
"Secret compartment in the bottom of leather bag."
He opened the compartment at the bottom to be met with a tape that had "LISTEN TO THIS" on it.
He grabbed a cassette player and popped in the tape.
"If you're hearing this, I'm dead, Iwaizumi."
Iwaizumi sobbed as he heard Y/N's voice flooding through his ears.
"I'm sorry I was weak. Maybe if I survived we could've been together."
He ran his hands through his hair, trying to calm himself down.
"Please, don't cry over me. You have so much ahead of you."
Tears fell from his eyes, dripping from his neck into the cold hard floor.
"I was just a stepping stone in your path. You can forget about me, Iwaizumi.
His tears aggressively fell, leaving droplets on his living room floor.
"I love you so much, Iwaizumi. These tapes are only for you."
Iwaizumi felt like he was suffocating. He couldn't even stabilize his breathing
"These tapes are confessions of what I should've told you before I died."
He got up.
"I made them while I was in the hospital. Thank you for staying with me, Iwaizumi."
"Your first tape is where we first met."
He turned off the cassette player.
He put on his shoes.
And headed to the sweets shop.
