"Lady and gentleman, this is Bullseye" Stinger said from the front of the briefing room "The communication ship, SS Layton, has become disabled and has wondered into foreign territory. A rescue operation will soon begin. Your mission is to give it air support. There are MiG's in the area. If you witness a hostile act, return fire. They carry the Exocet anti-ship missile. They can fire it from miles away"

Ice glanced at Slider who was seated beside him before he locked eyes with Maverick. They conversed silently before their worried eyes settled on Chaos, the one person they were worried about.

"This is the real thing. This is what you've been trained for. You are America's best. Make us proud" Stinger continued as he stared at the naval aviators seated in front of him "Ice"

"Yes, sir" He responded.

"Maverick"

"Yes, sir" Maverick replied.

"Hollywood"

"Yes" Hollywood said.

"Sector two" Stinger told each of them before his gaze landed on Ivy "Chaos, you back them up with Merlin on ready five"

Chaos nodded her head in understanding but you could tell her face slightly dropped in disappointment "Yes, sir"

"Rise" A naval officer instructed as the pilots rose to their feet and started to leave the room to prepare themselves for the mission.

Ice, Slider, Maverick and Goose approached Chaos with soft smiles but worry evident in each of their eyes "Don't worry about me, Mav" Chaos said, already sensing her brother's fear "You just stay safe, okay? And Goose, look after him out there for me"

"Always Chaos" Goose replied and brought her in for a hug.

"You got it Ivy" Maverick then said as he too pulled her in for a hug before they left to go to the locker room to suit up in their flight gear.

"Good luck out there Slider and stay safe" She told her boyfriend's RIO as he nodded and pulled her in for a hug "You have my word Chaos" He smiled at her before he also left for the locker room to suit up and to also give the lovebirds some time alone.

Ivy didn't know what to say to Ice and instead she just brought him in for a comforting hug before Tom placed a loving kiss on her lips as she smiled "I'll see you out there, Ice"

Ice nodded with a smile, his hand rested on her cheek as hers laid on his chest "I'll see you out there, Chaos" He repeated before they both went there separate ways.

Maverick flew between Ice and Hollywood, his brown eyes falling onto the polaroid of him, Theo, Ivy and Goose as he took a deep breath before giving the mission his full focus.

"Voodoo One, Voodoo One, you got a pair of bogeys. Twelve o'clock, fifteen miles" The radar operator's voice came through the cockpit.

"Voodoo One, Voodoo One, zero-nine-zero. Radar contact, fifteen miles" Slider reported back to the operator "They're doing five hundred miles"

"Roger, that's your bogey"

"Dead ahead, fifteen miles" Slider announced "Airspeed is six hundred knots"

"They're at fifteen thousand feet now, ten miles" Goose stated.

"Eight hundred knots" Wolfman added after what he saw on his radar "Dead ahead now, eight miles. Wood, you got them?"

"Nothing yet. I can't see them" Hollywood replied.

"They must be close. I'm getting a hard on" The RIO said as Maverick shook his head, a small smile on his face.

"Okay, Maverick and Wood, I'm taking the lead. Let's identify them" Ice told them as he lead the formation.

"Roger, Ice, you got the lead. I'm on your left side, a little low" Hollywood said.

Maverick lowered his plane and went towards the right and then levelled out so he was flying directly in line with Hollywood "I'm on your right Ice"

With all three jets assuming their formation, Goose saw something on the radar "Holy shit!" He exclaimed "Maverick, we got a problem here"

"Talk to me Goose"

"I have five aircrafts on radar. Five bogeys" Goose stated.

"Wood, we've got five bogeys" Ice said.

"Wrong, make that seven!" Wolfman exclaimed into the radio "Oh, shit! He's got radar lock on us"

"Get out of there, Hollywood!" Ice instructed.

"Hollywood, get the hell out of there!" Maverick yelled but Hollywood couldn't even respond when a missile had been fired.

"I'm hit. We're coming apart" Hollywood exclaimed "I can't control it! We're going down"

Chaos was sat in the cockpit waiting for her signal when she heard Hollywood screaming and she felt like she was back in the plane with Bullet.

"Wood's been hit. Wood's been hit!" Iceman reported back to the carrier "Voodoo One, Wood's been hit! We've lost Hollywood!"

Everyone let out a sigh of relief when they saw Wolfman and Hollywood eject from the plane and land safely in the water with their parachutes.

"Chaos is airborne" Ivy's voice came through the comms as she and Merlin were on the way for support.

"Iceman, Maverick, what's your position?" Merlin then asked.

"Zero-nine-zero and a hundred and eighty miles!" Maverick replied.

"Got one coming on the left!" Slider warned the two aviators.

"Three MiG's dead ahead, coming in on the left side! I'm going after them, I'm bringing it around on the left! Maverick, cover me" Ice shouted.

"We've got six on our tail, that makes eight of them!" Goose called out as he turned himself around to look out the back "One of them is in guns range"

"God dammit!" Maverick's jaw clenched as shots were fired moments after.

"He's firing!" Goose told his pilot as he turned back around "Break right!"

"Break right now, Ice!" Maverick said just before he pulled on the joystick and pulled the jet to the right, avoiding the many bullets coming his way.

"This is Voodoo One. We are defenceless! Launch the alert fighters!" Ice said into the radio.

"Chaos, were are you?" Maverick asked as he avoided another missile lock.

"Give me thirty seconds and I'll be there Mav" Ivy told her brother.

"Come on Chaos! Get up here! I'm engaged in five, repeat five! I'm in deep shit!" Ice shouted.

"One MiG twelve o'clock high!" Slider alerted Ice "One MiG twelve o'clock high!"

"Watch your back, Ice!" Maverick told him when he saw a missile heading straight for his plane "Break right!"

"Mav, break left!" Goose had also spotted a missile heading straight towards them "Break left!"

"Shit, that was close" Tom sighed in relief as Maverick nodded "Chaos, we need some help down here!"

"Hang in there" Chaos said as she was about five minutes out.

"Chaos, come on, we need you" Maverick then said in some hope to calm his sister down.

"How about some help Chaos? Engage!" Ice yelled "Where the hell are you? God dammit!"

"Come on kid, hang in there" Stinger said from the control room.

"Jesus christ" Ivy mumbled at the scene in front of her.

"Chaos, we got a MiG on our tail" Merlin told her as she turned her head to see the aircraft coming towards them "Watch out! Watch out!" Chaos broke left but they wasn't out of it yet "Shit, we just flew right through his jet wash!"

The beeping started as the aircraft started to spin and the four aviators who were already up there felt like they were watching history repeat itself.

"This is not good. We've got a flame-out. Shit, engine two is out!" Bullet said in a panicked voice, his hands doing everything they could to get the jet working again.

"No, no, no. I'm losing control, I can't control it!" Ivy had never felt so scared in her life as the jet began to spin "Bullet I can't control it! It won't recover, shit!" She told Theo frantically.

"It's coupling up, Ivy! We're out of control! This is not good! This is not good!" Theo's voice was restrained as the jet spun around in circles.

"Get control, Chaos, get control" Ivy came to back to the present when she heard Merlin behind her and everyone else through her comms.

"Chaos!" Maverick called to his sister "Hey, hey, you're okay. You're fine. Just focus"

"Come on Chaos, I know you can do it" Ice said as the pilot took a deep breath before she got the plane working again.

"Good recovery, Chaos" Merlin said as everyone let out a sigh of relief that they were okay "Okay, let's get in there, we gotta help Ice" But it was like Chaos couldn't move like she had just gone in to shock "Come on! Let's get back in the game Chaos!"

"It's not good" Chaos mumbled so no one heard her.

"Come on Chaos!" Merlin said again when Ivy shook her head and broke away from Maverick and Ice "It's no good" She said louder this time.

"God dammit! Chaos is disengaging!" Slider shouted to Ice.

"Shit!" Ice yelled while Maverick and Goose were trying to get her to re-engage as was Merlin.

"God dammit Chaos!" Stinger shouted from inside the control room.

"Get in there Chaos! Come on you can't leave them. What are you doing?!" Merlin shouted to her.

"Ivy I know you can hear me" Maverick's voice came through the radio "Now get your ass back over here and engage. Come on Ivy you know this, don't think just do"

"Talk to me Bullet" She whispered, looking down at his dog tags in her hand while Merlin was still shouting in the back. She squeezed the dog tags in her hand and her eyes closed as she took a deep breath before turning the aircraft back around.

"Chaos is re-engaging sir"
