Chapter Thirteen

2:30 AM

Maya had finally gotten home after being cleared, it was around seven pm, and she was exhausted.

She went up to her room to catch up on some sleep, as the nurses kept coming in and waking her up to check up on her.

She crashed into her bed and shoved her face into the pillow. Almost immediately, she fell into a blissful sleep.

It was still dark by the time her eyes had opened. Looking at the alarm clock on the side of her bed, she saw it was around two am.

Maya groaned and rolled out of her bed. She walked over to her closet to get something comfortable to wear. She settled on a pair of shorts and an old tee-shirt she had stolen from Richie last year. She picked up a book and curled back into her bed, the warmth causing her fall back into a drowsy state.

Maya had gotten invested into her book when she heard it. A rock hitting her window. She groaned softly as she closed the book and placed it beside her. This action caused the candle she was using to read to go out. Walking over to the window and looking out of it, she was shocked. She could faintly make out the silhouette of Beverly in the darkness of her room.

"Beverly?" She asked quietly after raising her window. She sighed and motioned for her to climb up as she made her way back to her bed. She picked up the book and moved it to her desk before turning back to her window.

Beverly climbed through her window and shut it quietly behind her.

"Hey," Beverly said, walking up to the girl quietly. She stood in front of her, scratching her arm as she stared at Maya.

"Hi?" Maya replied, smiling softly at the girl. The moonlight made her look so pretty. Her blue eyes were shining as she looked at Maya. "What, uh, what are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to see you.." Beverly replied, examining the girl in front of her. She stared at her in awe, the moonlight made her look perfect. Even if her hair was messy and she looked paler than usual due to the recent incidents. Beverly still thought Maya was the most beautiful girl she had ever laid eyes on. She had never wanted to kiss her more, than in this exact moment.

She stared into her eyes. The moonlight made them look enchanting. Maya's eyes reminded her of the sky. Vast and full and beauty. Like the sky, her eyes could be warm and inviting, much like the warm summer skies. On the other hand, they could be cold and uninviting. Like the winter skies. She could get lost in her eyes any day and all day, and she would gladly

Of course, Beverly had been waiting for this moment since their second sleepover, the one they almost kissed at. She wasn't sure when, but somewhere along the way, she had fallen for Maya.

She had fallen hard for her. She wasn't scared. She didn't care what the others thought about her. She just cared about what Maya thought.

"O-oh.." Maya mumbled, her face heating up as her hand went to pull on the hairties. Beverly frowned and grabbed the girl's hand quickly. She intertwined their fingers and smiled sweetly at her. Maya looked up and stared into Beverly's eyes. They sparkled in the moonlight, showing a deep blue color.

Beverly's eyes reminded Maya of the ocean, beautiful and mysterious. Full of many unknowns. Like the ocean, her eyes could be filled with beauty, but also like the ocean, it could change it a heartbeat. Change to a more dangerous and stormy blue. Full of anger, determination, or fear.

That's what Maya loved about her eyes. Her eyes, how could she even begin to describe them? So beautiful and full of emotion. She could drown in Beverly's eyes easily. She wouldn't be upset if she did.

Oh, how badly Maya wanted to kiss her. She wanted to kiss her more than anything else.

Beverly slowly intertwined their fingers.

Beverly leaned forward slowly, glancing at Maya's lips in the moonlight. Maya's heartbeat sped up as she leaned forward slowly to meet Beverly.

Suddenly, just as their lips were about to meet, Maya heard a loud crash from downstairs.

Maya jolted out of bed, the light blinding her as her face flushed due to the dream she had just awoken from.

"Maya! Maya! Maya, shit, Maya! We need to go!" Richie shouted as he slammed into her room, Bill following close behind her.

"What? Huh? What happened?" Maya asked quickly, throwing the covers off of her and getting out of her bed. Her face flushed at the realization of the dream she had.

"It's B-Beverly." Bill explained, a worried expression clear on his face.

"What?" Maya shouted, rushing over to her shoes and pulling them on quickly. "What happened?"

"IT got her." Bill explained, a worried expression on his face. Maya felt her heart drop at the thought of losing Beverly. She couldn't stand even thinking about it, let alone it actually happened. Maya felt anger bubble in her stomach and fear strike her heart. Her face hardened as she followed the two down the stairs.

"Fuckin' bitchass clown." Maya mumbled to herself as her feet his the bottom stair. Maya was beyond pissed. The clown had taken Beverly from her, and there was no way she would let it get away with that. "Gonna kill that motherfucker myself. I swear to-"

Maya pulled on her shoes, shouted a quick yet angry bye to her brother and closed the door behind the three.

"Un-fucking-believable. I swear, this ugly ass clown is gonna fucking pay! I don't give a shit what it takes I'm gonna stab that bitch right in the fucking eye socket."

"Uh, M-Maya?" Richie said, mounting his bike, "you're yelling a lot."

"Yes, I am. So glad you noticed. Now can we be on our way? I'm gonna save her from that ugly ass motherfucking clown!"

Both Richie and Bill knew that Maya had her mind made up, and there was nothing they could do to calm the rage she felt.

She was gonna kill that fuckin' clown, and neither of them wanted to stand in the way of that.
