A group that shared similarities, but also had their own unique differences. Two pale girls left the red BMW convertible, with two boys leaving the white jeep. Leaving whoever was in the Volvo to stay put in their car. Cecilia Chapel was almost jealous of their beauty. Yet, the more she looked at them, she began to realise they were almost... creepy? From their black eyes, to their pale skin and stone like structure, the girl found it unsettling.

"Oh, Love Bug, you really need to leave the house more often and socialise... practically the whole town has been talking about them since they arrived over the break. They're The Cullens. They're kind of like you, apparently. They don't really socialise with anyone, and only really keep to themselves. Allegedly! I'll use that word since I'm only running off of rumors," Vivienne nudged Cecilia, standing side by side while they looked at the group standing by their flashy cars.

      "The Cullens, huh?"

"Yep! All adopted by some guy named Carlisle, and his wife, Esme. Must have hit the jackpot at the adoption center since they all practically look the damn same," Vivienne observed, "don't tell anyone, but I'm definitely down for the blonde one. Totally my type."

Cecilia peered over the other cars that were beginning to flood into the carpark, "the guy that looks like he's holding his breath for far too long and is going to die?"

As she said that she could see the small, pale brunette with a pixie cut giggling beside the so-called "dying" one.

"God, no! I'm not a necrophiliac!" Vivienne casually pointed towards the blonde girl, "that one. Right there. She is who I'm talking about. Less dead looking but still on the pale side. I believe that's Rosalie. Pretty name for such a pretty lady. Great sense of style, too."

Cecilia rolled her eyes, "alright, alright. Down dog. You don't even know if that's her name, you just believe it is."

The echo of Vivienne's laughter could be heard from half the carpark, causing a few unusual glances toward the pair. "No, no. Definitely sure. I trust my sources... AKA me..." The red head observed for a little while longer. "The short one with the brown hair is Alice, the one that looks like he's dying more than the others is Jasper, and the big beefy muppet that was hanging out of the sunroof is Emmett. But there should be one more..."

"You mean that one getting out of the Volvo that was going way too fast for a school parking lot?" Cecilia stood on the tips of her toes to properly see him. She could only make out the golden hair through the open car door.

"You and your fear of people going over the speed limit. You're lucky I don't speed when you're in my car," Vivienne shook her head, "anyways, that only leaves on name left on the long ass list. Must be Edward Cullen. Apparently he is perfect looking. More than the others but I seriously doubt that when that blonde one is standing right there..."

Perfect he was indeed. Cecilia took in every feature of his. Much like the others, his skin was obscenely pale, and flawless. Not a single mark, or dent left in the porcelain. His eyes were just as black, if not more, but it was hard to tell from such a distance. He was just like the main love interest of a recent novel that she had read. Possibly better. She watched as he closed the door and joined the others, leaning against the red convertible as he observed the people in the parking lot, much like her and Vivienne were doing.

The words from Vivienne's rambling began to fade as all of Cecilia's attention was on the boy. When he had finally observed everyone else in the parking lot talking to one another, he finally made it to her. Standing there, in her white dress and brown jacket that was far too big for her. He looked at her far longer than anyone else he had looked at in the vicinity, his eyes remaining on hers as she kept hers on his.

"Earth to Cecilia!" The red head waved a hand in front of the zoned out girl, capturing her attention again. "Did you hear anything I just said?"

Standing awkwardly, rubbing her arm, Cecilia softly smiled.

Vivienne rolled her eyes, "and what were you looking at?" She followed the original path of Cecilia's gaze. "My, oh, my, buggie. What exquisite taste you have. Already making moves on the fresh meat."

"It wasn't like that..." Cecilia said, looking back over to Edward, who now had his back turned from her.

"HEY VI!" A boy ran up to them, holding a stack of paper. He handed a flyer to the red head and gave a subtle wink, "hope to see you there." His eyes then trained to the small girl beside Vivienne, who kept her head down. He almost felt bad. He passed her one too, "you too, I guess."

As quick as he came, he left the girls to look at the hideously made flyers. A party for tomorrow night.

"We are so going," Vivienne gleefully clapped.

Cecilia's face turned into disgust, knowing exactly what happens at parties. Well, at least based off of what Tommy had told her. "I'm not going."

"Yes, you are."

"No I'm not," Cecilia shrugged, scrunching the piece of paper and shoving it into her satchel, "besides, Tommy would never let me."

Vivienne groaned, grabbing onto the shoulders of the girl in front of her, "will you just sit in your room reading books and sipping on your special mineral water for the rest of your life?"

"No! Sometimes I drink soda, too!" Cecilia smiled. Upon seeing Vivienne's unamused expression, her face dropped. "Scary things happen at parties, Viv. Drinks. A BOYS HOUSE. So many things wrong."

"You don't have to drink, buggie. If that's something you're worried about, you can just count how many shots I'm drinking instead and you can have water shots!" Vivienne smiled, forming her hands into a prayerful posture while the girl gasped at the sentence she just heard. "Please. Just this once, Love Bug."

Cecilia thought for a moment. She truly felt the urge to say no. This was the first time she had ever been invited to something like this. Usually it was just Vivienne, who would then ask her to come along. It was always an unsurprising no. But maybe she needed to get out of her comfort zone.

"Just say yes already. I know you wanna!" Vivienne teased.

Giving in to temptation, the girl sighed, "okay... I'll go. I'll find some sort of excuse to tell Tommy..."

Vivienne clapped excitedly once more, dancing around in a circle with her hands raised, "and my persuasion tactics work once again! And just tell him you're sleeping over at mine!"

"Yeah, yeah... I might pull out last second, you never know..."

"DON'T you dare!" The red head pointed her finger in the girls face, "I know where you live."

The pair giggled and nudged each other. Seeing Vivienne so happy made Cecilia just as equally happy. Perhaps going to this party would be good for the both of them. Then, Cecilia sighed as she heard the schools bell, "I don't think I can laugh anymore knowing you aren't in half of my classes."

"I'm sure you'll find someone to tag along with, Love Bug," Vivienne looked over the schedules they both had, matching up their classes on the pieces of paper as they wandered toward the school. "If worst comes to worst, you can always sit on your own."

"Yeah but in the classes I don't have with you they always do group projects..." Cecilia whispered, folding up the piece of paper and slipping it into her satchel.

"You'll be fine! It can't be that bad!"

Cecilia sighed, taking in Vivienne's words.

It can't be that bad, right?

Edward Cullen, a single pen in his hand and a single book. She was already making assumptions about him. Organised, or just too lazy to carry around a bag. Or perhaps he was the type that hardly ever took notes and just did his own thing and still managed to pass. When he shuffled his seat slightly away from her, and she was brought back to reality. Yeah, that's more like it, Cecilia told herself. Just another person who treated her the way the others did. He probably was already given a rundown by Jessica Stanley.

"You're staring." He spoke up. He met her gaze and almost immediately looked away. His fist clenched around the pen in his hand as he scribbled his name on his notebook.

It caught her quite off guard, and she straightened up in her seat before blinking rapidly to remove herself from her thoughts, "sorry."

From a distance he looked good, but up close he was even more beautiful. Almost like he had been hand carved from head to toe. Despite his dark and gloomy eyes, his golden hair helped to bring out the small golden flecks that tried to hide behind the darkness of his irises. You're being rude by staring, Cecilia, she told herself.

She finally looked away and back toward the front of the room, where the young but professional teacher stood. Cecilia had him last year, too. He was always impressed by her grades, and really pushed her to aim higher than what she thought she was capable of.

"Good morning, class. I'm Mr. Madden," the teacher introduced himself to those he hadn't taught before, straightening up the white lab coat he wore. "I hope most of you are aware of what class you're taking. If you're not, I'm afraid this will be a long year for you. Welcome to Biology, where we learn all things about life. Cells, energy, genetics, evolution, how our body systems work, and lastly, ecology."

While the teacher rambled on about cellular anatomy, Cecilia made sure to keep her head down and write down the notes from what Mr. Madden had instructed them to write down. She made sure her notes were neat, and although she knew most of what she was writing down, she still tried to pay attention.

      Key word: Tried.

She would occasionally peak through her loose, dark hair to spare a quick glance at him. His posture was stiff, and he was practically leaning away from her. His muscles straining from gripping the pen so tight. Such strain could be seen as her eyes ventured up the length of his arm, disappearing just below the elbow where the sleeves of his black shirt were rolled up. Perhaps he hated it here just as much as she did. Maybe a friend would help? Well, it would help both of them.

"Are you going to the party... tomorrow?" Cecilia chose to ask. Damn it, I should have told him my name. She suddenly felt like Mike Newton, playing twenty questions.

He stopped writing whilst in the middle of a word. His grip only growing tighter on the four colour selection pen in his hand. "Who's asking?"

Her eyebrows practically rose to her hairline. Before she hadn't noticed how harsh his voice was, purely because she had been caught off guard. God, no wonder this man had no friends. Negative energy, and a negative way to speak to people.

"C-Cecilia Chapel's asking," she spoke softly. She couldn't tell if that was his unusual way of getting her name or something else.

He paused, shifting in his seat until he sprung up just as the bell rang, forcing the girl to move away from his self appointed seat. The slamming of his book startled her, and Cecilia stayed frozen in her seat, watching as he passed through the doorway before anyone else had managed to put their books in their bags.

She already knew his name, but it would have been nicer if he told her himself. Her mood suddenly shifted. Well, seems like he definitely doesn't need a friend...

She knew one thing though. She hated rude people and she knew that she already hated Edward Cullen.
