WHILE THE LACROSSE GAME RAGED ON OUTSIDE, Stiles Stilinski stood before Derek Hale and Erica Reyes as he explained what exactly had happened at the mechanic shop.

Derek Hale had bitten and turned not only her, but Isaac Lahey and Vernon Boyd.

Stiles was having his jeep worked on as the Kanima attacked the worker, dropping the jeep that was hoisted high above the man on him. "All right, the thing was pretty slick-looking. Um," he began. "Skin was dark. Kind of patterned, uh.. I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough?" He cocked a brow to Derek who gave him a knowing look. "Fine. Eyes. Eyes are yellowish and slitted. It has a lot of teeth.." He explained, unaware of the creature in question that climbed the walls behind him. "Oh, and it's got a tail, too. Are we good?"

He noticed the fear in Erica's eyes and knitted his brows. "What, have you seen it? You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I'm talking about." He turned his head to where their eyes lay, only then hearing the horrific hissing. Stiles jumped back and stood beside Derek who dropped on all fours and growled at the creature. The creature slid it's claw against the rear of the Beta's neck, paralysing her within seconds.ย

"Run!" He ordered to Stiles, who did exactly that.ย

"Derek, your neck." He whispered to the lycan who trailed his hand over the fresh cut. Derek fell onto the Stilinski, taken aback, he helplessly lifted the Alpha away from the reptillian. While pulling him away, his phone slipped out his pocket. Stiles leant forward to pick it up from the floor - unaware of how Derek slipped from his grasp and into the pool. Cursing to himself, he dived into the pool and helped the lycan.

Stiles didn't want to be responsible for murder - even if it was for the sour wolf's. He struggled to keep the man afloat as he glanced around for the Kanima. As Stiles reached for the diving board bars to keep him afloat, him and Derek were aprubtly yanked out of the pool by none other than Scott McCall.ย

The Kanima sped towards the Beta, who dropped to his hands and roared towards it. Wrapping it's tail around Scott's leg, he slammed the lycan against the mirror and watched shards of glass surrounded him.

Scott clamored to his feet and picked up the shard of mirror, holding it before him as a makeshift weapon. He snarled to the repitillian as it drew closer. Although, the Kanima caught its reflection in the broken shard of mirror and coiled back, leaping out of sight.ย

The next day, Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall made their way down the halls of Beacon Hills High. "I just talked to my dad, who talked to Jackson and I've got terrible, horrible, very, very bad news." he hissed. "Isaac's back."

"Yeah, duh, I saw him in homeroom." Scott seethed back to his best friend. "That's not our only problem either. Whatever that thing was, I think Derek thinks its Dallas."

"Why would he think that?"

"Dallas survived the bite, right?" He whispered to his best friend. "And she's obviously not a werewolf. I'd sense it if she was. So-"

Stiles finished for him. "So she might be the Kanima."ย

Scott nodded along with his best friend, both entering economic class with nothing but troubled thoughts.ย

As Dallie copied the notes from the board, the teacher's face contorted into the thrilling figure of Peter Hale. She swallowed dryly, watching as the letters formed into musical notes. She glanced around as all the other students had disappeared, nobody but her and Peter in the class. He drew closer, slamming the desks aside with his claws.ย

She jumped back in fright, her stare with Peter failing to break. She stood up and yelped out in fear as he inched closer and closer - desks flying across the room. He came within inches of her face as she clasped her eyes shut. "Dallas!"ย

Her eyes stretched open as she heard her name. Peter Hale was no longer there, instead, the entire class was staring her way. She stuttered dryly before dashing out the class, grabbing her bag from the floor and clearing her throat.ย

Stiles shared a knowing look with Scott as they watched her leave. Perhaps she wasn't the Kanima, or perhaps she was - either way, there was no way she was human.

"Derek isn't gonna kill her without proof-"

"How much proof does he need, Stiles?" Scott whispered, treading his way into Chemistry with his best friend. "She died and came back to life, okay? If you haven't noticed, humans don't do that!"

"He'll test her, like he did with Jackson!" he flickered his eyes to her as she flipped through her chemistry book and ignored the desperate whispers of Lydia Martin behind her. "But when and where?"

"Come on, Dallie, I'm sorry!" The strawberry blonde whispered out. "I know I've been a shitty friend, but the silent treatment, really?"

Stiles then watched as the two Betas, Isaac Lahey and Erica Reyes, entered through the bottom doors of the classroom. Their eyes held chaos and conspiracy as they both averted their attention to the simplistic Garcia. Scott swallowed harshly. "I think here and now."

All four of them lay eyes on the empty seat beside her, sharing a knowing look. Before anyone could register it, Scott leaped to her side and sent her a puppy-dog smile. Stiles sat on the other side of the small table, pulling up a chair beside her.ย

She sent them both an odd look and raised a brow. "What are you guys doing?"

Allison seemed just as confused as she entered the class too, knitting her eyebrows at her boyfriend who simply shrugged. He nodded to Erica who gave the huntress a killer smile.ย

"Einstein once said, 'Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity." Mr Harris set his eyes on Stiles Stilinski. "And im not sure about the universe,ย  but I myself have encountered infinite stupidity." He slapped his hand on the human's shoulder. "So, to combat the plague of ignorance in my class, you're going to combine efforts through a round of group experiments. Let's see if two heads are indeed better than one."

He then glanced at the teen. "Or, In Mr. Stilinski's case, less than one." he hummed. "Erica, you take the first station. You'll start with.. " he noticed all the raised hands of the male teenagers and sighed. "I didn't ask for volunteers. Put your little hormonal hands down.ย  Start with Mr. McCall. All right? Next two."

Scott let out a frustrated breath and Erica gave a side-eye to the jealous Argent. They all moved seats, Dallas eventually being sat with Lydia.ย

"You cant ignore me for the full period, Dallas." The Martin groaned. "Come on, I've apologised multiple times. What more can I do?"

"I don't want your bullshit apologies, Lyds." Dallas mumbled out, pouring the solution into the container. "You just hate being the third wheel between Scott and Allison, I cant imagine how much that sucks, right? Oh wait, I know exactly how that feels." she spoke with ice.ย

Not too far from them, Scott and Erica sat beside each other. "Whatever you're thinking about doing, wait. Give me a chance to talk to Derek."ย

"Why don't you talk to me instead?" Erica spoke in a sultry tone, leaning closer to the lycan. "That's funny." She giggled. "In school, you guys act like you're broken up, but she's all over you." She stared at Allison who was stationed next to Stiles. Scott avoided her look and her giggles as he examined his paper instead.ย

"I don't know what you're talking about."ย

Erica gave him a bored look. "If I were Allison," she ran her hand over his thigh. "I'd be wanting you..ย  all the time."

Scott pulled her hand from his thigh and jerked it away. "You're not my type."

"I'm exactly your type." The blonde hissed, flashing her golden eyes to him. The ding of the bell broke their moment as Harris spoke.ย

"Switch."

Lydia pulled away from the desk and held her belongings close to her chest. Before Dallie could get another word in, Scott dropped to her side and panted heavily, sharing a look of relief with Stiles. Next to him, however, sat Isaac Lahey.ย

"If you harm one hair on her head, I'm gonna turn your little werewolf ass into a fur coat," Stiles warned. "And give it to her as a birthday present."

Isaac let out a gruff chuckle. "Really?" he cocked his head to the side. "I've never actually been to one of her big, birthday parties." he hummed. "I've always wanted to ask her out, though. Maybe I can go to one then. You know, if I don't kill her."

Stiles clenched his jaw and sent the Lahey a hard glare. "If." The beta repeated before the bell dinged again.ย

"And Switch."

All the students fled to other stations, Isaac Lahey finally planting a seat at Dallie's. She sprinkled chemicals into the beaker and ignored the leather-bound beta beside her.ย

Erica sat beside Allison while Lydia took her seat beside Danny. "Danny, can you please convince her to stop hating me?" Lydia pleaded to him as he shook his head.

He shook his head harshly. "Woah, no. I know girl world well enough to know that getting involved in the drama is suicide."ย

Meanwhile, Erica taunted the Argent. "What are you gonna do to her?" Ally deadpanned, giving the werewolf an unbothered look.ย

The blonde pretend to ponder momentarily. "Don't you think the better question is 'What's she going to do to us?'"

"Hey, Its Dallas, right?" Isaac cocked his head to the brunette who nodded. "Pretty name."

"Pretty jacket." She deadpanned, glancing at his leather. "That's if you're going for that whole biker-gang look."

"Not into that?" He narrowed his eyes at her smugly.

She scoffed at him. "Not into the ego." Dallas flipped her hair over her shoulder.ย

Isaac took a glimpse at the graze on her neck. "Maybe it'll grow on you. Maybe we're not so different as you think."

Allison glanced at Dallie who gave her a simple shrug. She then connected eyes with Scott who tried to keep his cool. "I have to say, you guys are cute together." The blonde Reyes taunted. "But you know, I've always had this feeling that I'm a little psychic... and I just don't think that you're going to last."ย

The brunette kept a tight-lipped smile and nodded along with her. "You think you can hurt me by sliding your hand up his thigh?"ย

Erica hummed. "Would you like it better if it were your thigh?" Her claws were extended as she placed them atop of the huntress's tights. "Oh, come on. Girl fight in lab. It'll be hot." She dug her nails into her leg. Allison tried to cover her whimpers with a cough as the bell rang again.

"You should now be looking at a crystal."ย  Mr. Harris called out. Stiles took a look at the mush that had formed at the bottom of his beaker and knitted his eyebrows. Nevertheless, Isaac pulled the crystal out of the beaker with some tongs and twirled it in the light. "Now, for the last part of the experiment is something Im sure you'll all enjoy." The Teacher explained. "You can eat it."

Isaac offered it to the Latina who pulled it from the tongs. What Scott noticed, though, was the sticky venom that coated atop. She placed it on her tongue but jumped back as Scott abruptly stood up. "Dallas!" He called her name, both Danny and Lydia glancing up at her.

"What?" She furrowed her eyebrows, unfazed by the venom. Erica shared a knowing look with Isaac while Scott plopped back into his seat.

"Uh, nothing."

She took a bite of the crystal, the venom having no effect on her. Stiles slouched in his seat as he watched any possibility of his beloved being human die before him. Scott glimpsed out the window and caught the eyes of Derek Hale - who had come to a terrifying conclusion.ย

Allison panicked before her boyfriend and his best friend while they discussed the Latina.

"Derek's outside. He's waiting for Dallas." Scott commented dryly. Allison stuttered and felt panic claw up her throat.

"Waiting to kill her?" She choked out. Stiles ran a hand over his buzzcut and seemed just as anxious. If it wasn't obvious enough, though, Scott could smell it radiate from his body.

The Lycan dropped his hands to his sides. "If he thinks she's the Kanima, then yes." he began. "Especially after what happened at the formal."

"It's not her, man." Stiles butted in. "I know it. I know Dallie, okay?"

Scott gave his best friend a dreaded gaze. "Stiles, she didn't pass the test. Nothing happened."

He continued shaking his head in response. "No." he deadpanned. "It's not her. It can't be her."

Allison broke their arguing. "It doesn't matter because Derek thinks it's her." she inhaled sharply, running a hand through her chestnut hair as it hung over her shoulder. "So, we either convince him that he's wrong, or we've got to figure out a way to protect her."

Outside, Dallas walked beside Danny. She was supposed to be hitching a ride home from him, but the surprising attendance of her father caused her to cock a brow. "Dallie, I'm taking you home today."

She turned to Danny who nodded his head. "It's okay. Go." he waved to Mr. Garcia who stood in front of his car, pitch-black sunglasses resting on his head and nodded to him.

As Dallas sat in the passenger seat of his vehicle, James then glared at Derek who leant against his own vehicle. Locking the car and shoving the keys into his pocket, he made his way over to him. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" He snarled as he inched closer to the Alpha.

"She didn't pass the test, Jim." Derek hissed. "Your daughter is a killer. If you don't put her down, I will."

Running a hand over his jawline, he shoved Derek against the side of his car and gave him a sour look. "She's not the goddamn Kanima, Derek!" he dropped the tone of his voice. "Jackson is."

The Lycan clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes, taking in the new information like nicotine. "How can I trust you?" Derek questioned. "How can you be so sure that it's Jackson? You won't even tell me what Dallas is."

"Yeah, cause I told Peter and look at what happened!" James Garcia spoke with rage and anguish. "I'm not putting her in danger - not again. Not with your kind."

"What is she, James?" Derek spoke barely above a whisper. "Cause she didn't react to the venom."

James swallowed harshly. "She didn't react because her kind has venom of its own." He disclosed little information. "And If you knew what was good for you, Derek, you'd leave well enough alone." He spat before turning his back to the Alpha. He caught the eye of the two betas and pulled his car door open before speeding away.

Inside of her bedroom, Dallas lay on her bed and ignored the whistling of the wind outside her window. Yet, she raised her head as the whistling turned into low humming. While the Latina was certain she was losing her mind - she couldn't seem to block out the voice. She pulled the pillow over her head and clasped her eyes shut, but the humming continued.

She pulled herself up from her soft mattress and stood before her window. Dallas threw it open and allowed the cold air to prick her skin. It made her feel more awake - more awake than she had been in days. Every time she saw the familiar face of Peter Hale, it felt like a dream. No, not a dream, a nightmare.

The humming was low and throaty, like it came from a male. She found it peculiar that no dogs were barking, or birds squawking along. Even her father didn't seem to hear the particularly low humming that shook her walls.

Resting her hand on the edge of the window, within minutes, she was caught in a trance. She pulled herself onto the slates of the roof and traced her hands along the vines that ran up the brick. Forestry wrapped around her house and pulled her into its abyss. She climbed down the vines and felt the leaves crunch underneath her feet, stumbling towards the voice. Mist climbed up the trees and spilled over the floor, wrapping around her legs and plaguing her sight. Still, the girl made her way to an abandoned house and pushed against the broken, creaky door.

The humming came to a strange halt. Dallas blinked heavily and let in a sharp inhale. She studied her surroundings, unsure of where she was and how exactly she got there. Leaves dusted across the floor and the wallpaper was torn. "Hello?" She nervously called out, whispering gently as the wind blew through the abandoned house and stroked her exposed skin.

"What a peculiar creature you are." She heard the voice draw closer from behind her. As she turned, the world changed around her. The house seeped into darkness and the torn wallpaper was now ashy and scorched. Stood in the doorway was Peter Hale. He stared at her with an unknown expression, his skin coated with blood and burn marks. They fell down his neck and sat atop every piece of skin she could see. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest as she stepped backward, a gasp trying to escape her throat. "Is something wrong?" He commented as her eyes welled up with tears while her arms wrapped around herself.

The graze on her neck throbbed with pain as she slid down the unstable wall, the footsteps of Peter echoing in her ear. "Just - Just stay back!" She managed to choke out, but he gave her a lopsided smile and kneeled before her.

"I'm not here to hurt you." he brushed the hair from out her face and ran his finger down the scar under her jawline. "I'm here to help you, Dallas. We can help each other." The older hale thought for a moment. He dropped to his knees as she seemed to lose all sense of her reality.

"I really am sorry, Dallie." He tutted at the mark on her neck. "But it was the only way knew how to change you." Peter frowned at the girl in front of him as she stared into the distance. "This might seem terribly confusing right now, but you can help me be strong again. I can make you strong, too."

"It's like what your mother said to me once." He nudged her. "A sailor cannot control dangerous seas, but only guide his way through it." Peter remarked nostalgically. "I just wish your father felt the same way."
