Chapter 2
The room was filled with the gentle fragrance of dripping flowers, and for a moment, you felt as though you had been transported back to Izuku's house after the incident with the mucus plug. His mother was exceptionally kind to you, treating you with a warmth and care that reminded you of the motherly love you had forgotten you possessed.
"Dear, would you like more rice balls? I'm sure Izuku won't mind sharing," she beamed at you, her green eyebrows glowing in the lamplight. You chuckled and glanced over at the tired boy. "Sure, Ma'am."
"Just call me Inko, dear," Izuku's mother said with a smile, and you jumped slightly. "Of course, Inko," you replied, bowing your head politely as you accepted another portion of rice balls.
After finishing your meal, you stood up and thanked Inko for the food. "Come on, Izu, let's get you to bed," you said, gently lifting him up by the shoulders. He barely stirred, his eyes closed and his lips parted in peaceful slumber.
Inko's laughter filled the room as you carried Izuku up the stairs. You smiled back at her, your tail whipping under your pants as it moved with your emotions.
Opening Izuku's door, you glanced at the posters adorning the walls, noticing one featuring a blond hero. You rolled your eyes at the sight. Could that be the sensei that Goji told me about? you wondered, but quickly dismissed the thought. Regardless, as long as he's good for my little Izuku, he can be his idol.
Carefully laying Izuku down on the soft bed, you removed his clothes, not bothering with his underwear. Tucking him in under the duvet, you kissed his forehead and nose gently. "Sleep tight, little warrior," you whispered before slipping out of the room.
Returning to the living room, you offered to help Inko with the palettes. She smiled gratefully, and together, you brought them in and arranged them comfortably. It was moments like these, surrounded by warmth and kindness, that made you grateful for the bonds you had forged with the humans in your life.
With a smile, you turn off the light and gently close the door to Izuku's room, ensuring he is left to rest in peace. Descending the stairs, you call out to Inko, who is busy washing dishes in the kitchen. "I'm outside!" you announce before stepping out into the cool night landscape.
The moon emerges, claiming her dominion in the sky, casting her silvery light over the world below. Her gentle rays wash over you, painting you in a softer, cooler glow, accentuating the silver trail of fate that adorns your features. You are a vision of otherworldly beauty, a goddess incarnate, draped in the darkness of the night.
As you sit upon a rock, basking in the moon's embrace, your blue eyes gaze out towards the vast expanse of the ocean. Despite being surrounded by the bustling city, glimpses of the sea peek through the gaps between the towering skyscrapers, a reminder of the natural beauty that lies beyond the urban landscape.
The cityscape twinkles with lights, its beauty amplified by the veil of night. Yet, amidst the tranquility of the night, your thoughts drift to your beloved comrade, Godzilla. You imagine him, perhaps feeling a sense of loneliness in your absence. He had always been reluctant to let you leave his side, especially after the night when you ascended to become queen and king, a night overshadowed by the threat of Ghidorah.
You recall the anguish he felt at the mere thought of losing you, a pain that cut deeper than any he had experienced before. Having already lost his family, he clung to you fiercely, unwilling to let go, determined to keep you by his side at all costs.
As fate's call echoes through the cosmos, she gathers the threads of destiny together, weaving them into her intricate tapestry of life and death. To her, life is but a game, a playground of beauty where every move is orchestrated with precision. Yet, death holds a different allure, lying in her bed once a week, a reminder of the inevitable cycle of existence.
But tonight, fate grants you the freedom to chart your own course, to follow the path laid out before you in your own way. And so, beneath the ethereal glow of the moon, you sit amidst the tranquil night, a beacon of grace and power in the darkness.
Izuku slumbers peacefully in his soft bed, while Inko offers the warmth and comfort of her home, as she always has. And you, the guardian of two worlds, choose to remain outside, awaiting the setting of the sun, though your heart yearns for the embrace of the moon.
As the golden rays of dawn herald the arrival of a new day, you rise from your reverie with a contented sigh, stretching leisurely before making your way inside the cozy home. There, you find Izuku already awake, eagerly devouring his breakfast.
"What's got you so excited?" you chuckle, joining him in the living room and handing him bowls of food.
"My little boy is going out with a personal trainer today. I thought it was going to be you," Inko remarks, her smile bittersweet as she gazes at her son.
You shake your head, realizing that Izuku hadn't mentioned anything about this development to you. A pang of jealousy flickers within you, knowing that he has a life beyond your influence, yet you push it aside, masking your emotions behind a facade of indifference.
"No, Inko, I don't know," you reply calmly, your purple eyes narrowing slightly as you observe the green-haired boy before you.
"Good luck, son," Inko says, patting Izuku's green head with the tenderness of a mother bird nudging her fledgling from the nest. She turns to you, her smile warm yet solemn, "Take good care of him, Azure. I never imagined this day would come."
Her eyes glisten with unshed tears, the pride in her voice a melody of hope and love. "Oh, it's so wonderful to see him grow up. Just wait, Izuku, you'll be a hero in no time."
With a final, lingering look at her son, she hurries out of the room, leaving you alone with Izuku. Your purple eyes narrow slightly, jealousy coiling within you like a restless serpent.
"So," you begin, your voice a calm river hiding turbulent currents, "you have a trainer, don't you? Who is it, if you don't mind me asking?"
Izuku sighs, setting down his bowl of noodles. "I know you might not like this, but I've met a friend. He's actually my idol. I met him after you rescued me..."
You cut him off with a dry laugh, your tongue flicking like a whip. "After I rescued you? What are you talking about? I was with you all afternoon."
He shakes his head, frustration etching lines into his young face. "I went out after we got home, while you were resting. Just forget about it, okay? I met someone, and I want to be with him."
You hum thoughtfully, the serpent of jealousy coiling tighter before loosening its grip. "Fine, but I'm coming with you. I don't want you to get hurt," you say, watching as a beam of relief breaks across his face.
"That's all I ask!"
You nod, turning on your heel, your tail flickering behind you like a whisper of wind through reeds, blue-striped hair catching the light like moonlit waves. "Hurry up, then," you call over your shoulder, leading the way.
