ONE?!

sakura nervously followed kai with her eyes, watching as he approached her with a blindfold. she trusted him with her life, but she knew him, knew that he was probably going to mess with her. she then remembered that this whole 'blind taste test' thing was her idea.

she let him tie in around her eyes, and she heard him rearrange the plates with different foods on them in front of her. he handed a small plate to her, "try this first." she looked in his direction, "can i smell it?" he rolled his eyes as if she could see him, "obviously not."

she scoffed, "you never know!" he didn't answer, and she moved on to finally tasting the dish. she put it in her mouth, and curled up at the taste. she refused to spit it out, and forced herself to swallow. she heard kai's laugh in her ear.

"what the hell was that?!" she shouted through a laugh, his giggles getting to her. "you have to guess!" she groaned, "you just want to torture me." he immediately went to defending himself, "hey! it's literally the point of the game."

"salmon?" she guessed, and he denied it. "you get one more try." she nodded, racking her brain to find this one flavor that she hated. "mushrooms?" he clapped, admitting she got it correct.

she had to get revenge. he made her eat her least favorite food, so she was going to make him eat his least favorite food. she quickly put a slice of avocado on a plate, handing it to him. she hid her smile, subconsciously thinking he could still see her.

she watched him like a hawk as he brought the green food to his mouth. she laughed at his expression, one of confusion and disgust. "my first guess is pumpkin?" she laughed, "nope. try again!" he groaned, "i wanna say a banana? but i'm also thinking avocado..." he thought aloud.

"final guess?" she prompted and he sighed. "banana?" she shook her head as she took off the blindfold. "you gave me avocado?!" he playfully screamed and she only laughed. "payback."

TWO?!

the summer heat was unbearable, even with air conditioner on the highest setting. the two suddenly became grateful for the ac, without it they would be drenched in sweat. they were desperate to cool off, every second just made them hotter.

they finally decided on making popsicles. it was fun, and would help them get cool. it was a win-win situation. especially since they were struggling this much just because of the heat.

it took a long time to decide what flavor to make, but they eventually settled on strawberry. her best friend wanted lime, but she would rather throw up. or at least that's what she told him. he only rolled his eyes, and let her have the satisfaction of a strawberry popsicle.

the younger stared at the girl, who stood still in front of the counter. she nervously chuckled, averting her eyes from his gaze. "so, uh, i kinda don't know how to make popsicles..." he rolled his eyes, taking his phone out with a sigh, though deep down he couldn't care less.

"okay, so we need strawberries, honey, salt, and lemon juice," the younger read off from his phone as she took out each ingredient. as instructed, she put everything in a blender, waiting for the magic to happen.

when she was done, she handed the mix to kai. he then put it in the mold as evenly as possible, shoving it in the freezer. "how long do we have to let it set in there?" she asked, confusion evident in her expression. he took a moment to search for it on his phone, "it says here at least four hours." she nodded,

the duo thought the four hours would take much longer, but it felt like nothing. the heat was still as unbearable as before, but just the thought of the popsicles was enough to cool the two off.

as soon as it hit the four hour mark, sakura jumped up to get the popsicles. she handed on to the youngest, and they both took a lick at the first time. "hey, it's not that bad!" she exclaimed and he excitedly nodded in agreement. he high-fived her, "we're just too good."

THREE?!

the cold of the night felt comforting for an odd reason, maybe it was the atmosphere. she watched with an amused smile as kai tried his best to set up a tent. they were in the backyard of a rental house and decided to go "camping."

the constant sounds of crickets became background noise, advancing to help the youngest with the tent. "no, you have to put the pole in there," she pointed and he turned his head to follow her outstretched finger.

"no, stupid, that's where that nail goes. this pole goes straight down into the ground." she helped him shove the pole into the ground, letting him win the argument. after what felt like years of work, the tent was useable.

she zipped open the door, crawling inside. kai followed her in, bringing his sleeping bag with him. "oh, you're smart," she acknowledged, getting out to grab her sleeping bag. "i know," he boasted. she rolled her eyes with a smile and shoved his shoulder.

entering the tent once more, she laid her sleeping bad next to his. while she was gone, he set up his phone in replace of a television. he had opened netflix and was scrolling through the many options, humming as he did so.

they scrolled for what felt like hours to find something to watch. eventually they ended up with glass onion. she didn't pay too much attention, letting her thoughts control her mind. she didn't want to disrupt the boy focused on the movie, so she kept silent.

the movie came to an end, and she nodded along as kai excitedly explained his favorite parts. she smiled as he calmed down, laying back in his sleeping bag. "that was a good movie," she said through a sigh, mimicking his actions.

with a faint mumble of 'goodnight' the younger turned to his side, getting comfortable. she smiled softly at her best friend. she wouldn't want to do this with anyone else.

FOUR?!

sakura missed home so fucking much. she missed coming home and smelling her mother's cooking. she missed hearing the door open and her father walking in. she missed the family hugs and the discussions they would have over dinner.

nights would go by and all she could think about was her beloved family. were they missing her too? she hoped they were. she had only seen her family when they were performing in japan. she just wanted to go home for a little while, not as txt.

she didn't realize she was crying until she felt her wet cheeks. she just let herself cry harder, no one was in the dorm anyway. she unconsciously imagined her mother hugging her. she wanted, no, she needed to go home.

she perked up at the sound of the front door opening. she forced herself to abruptly stop her tears, running to the bathroom to splash her face with some cold water. she was too late, kai had seen her.

"are you.... crying?" he asked, she felt a sense of shock in his voice. she looked down, "don't worry about it." still, he pushed her for more. "why were you crying?" she felt guilty, reminded of the questions he asked her the day she attempted.

she pushed the fear down her throat, "i'm just homesick. that's all." his smile turned soft and he approached her for a hug. he didn't quite know what to say, but he was happy to offer at least a hug. she wrapped her arms around his torso tightly, as if he were to disappear if she let go.

she pulled away after a few minutes, making eye contact with the boy. she wanted to burst into tears then and there. he just looked at her with so much sympathy and adoration, she felt like crying again. but she didn't. instead she smiled widely. he reciprocated the smile.

she looked down at the wood floor and whispered, "thank you, ning, i love you."

FIVE?!

huening was one of the best idols sakura knew. he was able to sing flawlessly right after dancing a hard choreography. he was able to entertain those around him with ease. but that didn't stop him from feeling insecure about his abilities.

he couldn't help but feel that he didn't really deserve his position in txt. he felt that he worked hard, but not enough. and it seemed that everyone else in the group was better than him at something. he didn't feel good enough, and it was evident through his facial expressions during practice that day.

during their break, sakura went up to him. "you're doing great," she whispered. he jumped in place, how did she know? he looked down at his fingers, and she continued to speak. "kai, you're one of the most talented people i know. you deserve your spot in this group more than anyone else."

he nodded, mumbling, "i just... don't feel, i don't know, worthy." her soft smile turned into a frown. "i wish you could see how worthy you are of good things, like this group and genuine happiness." he was silent, unsure of what to say.

he broke the silence with a sharp breath in. she crouched down to his side, where he was sitting on the floor. she moved the hair out of his face, wanting a clearer view. she could tell he was stopping himself from crying. she wished he would just let it all out.

"you can cry, ning," she whispered, letting him wrap his arms around her for a hug. she felt his body shake in the slightest way possible, she rubbed his back in an attempt to comfort him. she sat there and let him let go of everything he needed to.

he began to vent, ignoring the fear that he would be judged. he spoke of his disappointment in himself, of his lacking talents. she forced herself to not interrupt and deny his claims. as he finished, she couldn't help but softly frown. finally, she spoke.

"i wish you could just escape your mind for a single moment and see everything you deserve. because once you see it, you won't be able to say that it's not real. you are worth so much more than what you're mind says you are. i hope that you start to see all the things that are meant for you, coming to you. and i hope you realize that you're worthy of it all."
