TSUKISHIMA KEI
"woah, tsukki! you got perfect scores! lucky." yamaguchi says with his eyes sparkling as he saw my answer sheets with perfect scores.
"tone it down." i sigh, looking at the pen i have on my hand. it's the pen i got last night.
"see? i told you that a lucky charm will fall from the sky just for you." yamaguchi winks, resting his head on his desk.
don't get me wrong. i know i'm smart. that's why i'm assigned in an advanced class, but i don't usually get perfect scores. just high scores. i make mistakes, too, y'know?
"there's still something else about this mysterious pen." i mumble under my breath, furrowing my eyebrows as i look onto it like it was a person.
believe me or not, i might actually look like kageyama or hinata in this kind of situation. like an idiot. that's the right term, but can you blame me?
"you think so?" yamaguchi asks.
"yeah. i have a strong feeling that this isn't just an ordinary pen." i sigh once again before returning it back to my bag and waited for the time to pass.
"it's not just a lucky charm, eh?" yamaguchi asks and i replied with a simple nod.
as time passed by, all i kept on thinking about was the pen. i didn't even notice that class hours already ended.
"tsukki! let's go!" yamaguchu says happily, pulling me towards the clubroom for us to change our clothes.
"excited for practice today?" i ask, chuckling lightly.
"yep. hey, i just noticed, but are you being nice today? you'd usually go 'urusai, yamaguchi', but why am i not hearing it today?" yamaguchi asks, giggling as he pats me on my shoulder, making me start walking away from the clubroom, for i have changed my clothing.
"hey, wait!" yamaguchi yells from behind, trying to catch up as i purposely widen the gap of my steps.
"I just feel extra kind today because I don't want the luck to fade away. oh, and by the way, your level of imitation is at rock bottom." i answer with my usual monotonous tone before sighing.
"you can start being kind by waiting for me to catch up! stop that!" i hear him yell towards my direction, making me sigh once again and stop in front of the gymnasium.
"you're so mean, tsukki." he pouts as he wipes his oozing sweat away from his forehead.
"good afternoon!" yamaguchi and i greets as we enter the gymnasium. i just happen to say it in a low yet obvious tone. i don't greet that loud.
"good afternoon, you two!" our captain greets back with the usual smile plastered on his face.
everyone seemed to be doing their own thing. we have hinata and the king doing their quick attacks, the second years going crazy over our third year manager having her hair into a ponytail, and the third years watching a video, but what really caught my attention is the girl beside yachi who was having a conversation with ennoshita-san.
"something up, tsukki?" yamaguchi asks.
"that girl beside yachi. doesn't she look familiar to you?" i ask, diverting my eyes somewhere else.
"hmm, now that you mention it, she does." yamaguchi replies, staring at my eyes.
silence has devoured our conversation, not until both of us widened our eyes at the same time as we took another glance from the girl.
no way.
