NEVER PLANNED ON DYING. . .
— BNHA x TBHK
"The ability to have all of the Quirks," Tsukasa gushed, eyes sparkling as he stared down at his twin brother who was limp on the floor, on the verge of passing out from blood loss. "Doesn't that sound great, Amane?" Tsukasa curiously asked, his tone so innocent and pure as if he didn't just almost murder all those heroes a minute ago. "He promised me I'll be able to have that."
Amane clicked his tongue, glaring at his twin — can he even consider Tsukasa as his twin anymore? They look the same, from hair to eyes, but Tsukasa is evil. Amane was an aspiring hero, able to enroll in one of the most prestigious highschools in the whole world, whereas Tsukasa is a boy with twisted intentions, who joined forces with the League of Villains. Tsukasa is a horrible person, so Amane wondered, why? Why can't he bring myself to hurt him?
"Stop this, Tsukasa." Amane hissed in pain when Tsukasa tightened his hold of Amane's bleeding arm, making blood spew out more. "Just stop this. They don't deserve this." He was beginning to feel dizzy from losing his blood, vision blurring, head aching, and brain shutting down.
"Oh?" Tsukasa tilted his head, doe-like eyes gazing at Amane. "But I deserve this, Amane. We deserve this. He said so."
"Who is this man you keep on babbling about!?" Amane demanded, trying to pry away Tsukasa's sharp nails digging into his skin, creating marks that is a layer away from tearing and bleeding out. "Why would you side of him instead of your own brother!?"
Then Tsukasa laughed. "I never went against you, Amane. I'm trying to make you join us, join the person who even gave you that Quirk in the first place." When Amane jolted at the mention of it, Tsukasa grinned, his fangs gleaming brighter than the moon. "You know, the person who also gave me the Quirk you have so we are the same!"
Amane weakly trembled in Tsukasa's grip, not able to fight for himself anymore at the sight of his companions bloodied on the ground, and from the battle earlier with the villains. Amane has had injuries before, but there's nothing as worse as the current one. It was like he could feel his and his friends' bodies getting colder.
"The world is—" Tsukasa lifted a knife from his pocket, stained with dried up blood (Amane didn't want to think about what Tsukasa used it for)— "pretty unfair, don't you think, Amane?" The said twin knew where this was going; he knew it all too well, having had the conversation a while back when they were young. It's been imprinted in his, that painful memory when Tsukasa left him.
"I tried everything, Tsukasa," Amane growled at him, mustering up all his strength (or all that is left) to glare at Tsukasa, who stared at him in amusement. "I tried to stop you, but you threatened to hurt them."
"Don't you care about how I feel, Amane?"
"Are you serious? Of course I care—!"
"Then why do you care about them more than me?" Tsukasa said, making Amane's mouth shut. The knife grazed Amane's hero suit, almost tearing it, but the material was strong. "Why is that, Amane? You had a Quirk, you were able to pass through walls and specific surfaces, but I never experienced that. Then one day you came home, suddenly able to float around — you made a deal with the devil!" Amane couldn't bring himself to look at Tsukasa anymore.
"Tsukasa—"
"I met him too, Amane," Tsukasa said. "He gave me the abilities you have. He offered something: saying he can make me stronger than you, but I don't want that. I want be like Amane, not weaker nor stronger. Because we're family, right? I love you, Amane, my brother."
Amane was vulnerable. Tears sprung in his eyes and flowed down mercilessly, only adding more on the puddles beneath him. Amane was too vulnerable and weak to notice Tsukasa raise his knife.
Until Tsukasa got kicked on the face and flicked on the side, passed out from the power. Those ankles. . .Amane narrowed his eyes and followed the person's legs, brightening when he saw Yashiro.
"Radish-legs!" Amane quietly exclaimed, too tired to be excited.
Yashiro glared at him, but still grabbed his arm and wrapped it around her shoulders as a guide so he could stand up. "I told you not to call me that, Hanako-kun. My alias is Daikon."
Amane weakly shrugged. "Same thing, Yashiro." He knew that Yashiro meant strict business, but they were close friends so their real names should be used. "And I told you not to call me Hanako. It's a pretty embarrassing hero name—"
"Shut up."
"—but then again, Daikon is pretty embarrassing, too. We can be terrible hero name buddies, Yashiro! Daikon and Hanako! But you have to be the assistant, okay?"
"I said shut up!" Yashiro barked. Amane flinched at the volume of her voice, confusedly staring at her, trying to figure out what he did wrong. Then Yashiro broke. She broke into a hysterical cry and hugged Amane so tight, burying her face on his chest, relaxing when she heard his heart beat. "I thought I lost you. . ."
Behind them, company began to arrive, helping up the wounded heroes, and catching the villains. Safe. Amane was finally safe — Amane and all who are dear to him are finally safe.
Amane softly smiled and limply ran his fingers through Yashiro's drenched hair from the rain earlier. "You could never lose me, unfortunately. I'd really hate to die right now, you know?" He half-heartedly joked, making Yashiro giggle lightly through the sniffles and tears. "I would die first before you'd lose me, and you know well enough that the last thing on my mind is to die."
Tsukasa is still on the loose.
