"Guys, the rupture's getting worse." Bree noticed, as the four bionic-humans stood in front of the pipeline at the mission site. Chase gestured to the burst in the pipe in worry. "That's natural gas. We have to fix that leak or it'll explode." The girls turned to him as he instructed. "Girls, go check the rest of the pipeline for cracks."

"On it." Emilia nodded before her and Bree super speeded away. As soon as they were done, they returned to where the boys were, their hair being covered in leaves and branches, and small rashes showed up on their faces.

"We checked all two hundred miles โ€” seventy of which had poison oak." The girls grimaced while they started pulling branches out of their hair, but with their skin itching to be scratched, that was also a problem.

"All right, let's get out of here."

"All right, grab on to us." Bree turned around and waited as if she was expecting the boys to do as she said, only when she looked back, both girls spotted them looking awkward. "Actually, I'm gonna take the bus."

"Me too." Adam agreed before they both made a run for it.

"Seriously?! How rude!" Emilia exclaimed as she watched them run off before sighing. She took one last look at the area before super-speeding away with Bree.

If only they knew, they had an audience.

The next day, felt like a whole different vibe after the team walked into school to see every student that stood in the hallway, turn to them. Stopping beside Perry who held a tablet in her hand, and she looked almost worried, Bree asked. "What's everybody looking at?"

"A new viral video. Guess what it's called?" Perry started off. "The World's First Bionic Humans and the Banshee."

"What?!"

Unlike the other four who looked shocked at this news, however Adam, furrowed his brows. "Wait, there are other bionic people? Then, why are we working so hard?" He groaned.

"She's talking about us, Adam." Emilia explained to him, making Perry nod.

"Yeah, look." Their principal turned the tablet to them so they could see the video.

"That's yesterday's mission." Chase observed, still in shock.

"Somebody filmed us."

"Your secret's out." Leo stated, his worry starting to grow. "Everybody's gonna know you're bionic, along with Emilia being a banshee."

"Never mind that." Perry groaned. "Now I can't blackmail Daddy Big Bucks anymore. My gravy train just ran right off the tracks."

"Good for him." Emilia mumbled, trying hard not to panic. People finding out that they were bionic was one thing, but people knowing what abilities she had as a banshee? That freaked her out even more.

"Everybody's looking at us."

Chase gripped Emilia's hand, the couple seeking comfort in each other as Perry followed Bree's eyes, yelling at the students. "Hey, quit your staring! Scram!" The woman approached another group of students. "So they're bionic and one of them is a banshee. Get to class before they mow you down with their finger missiles."

As the hallway cleared out, the five of them were now alone as they thought over what made them get to this place. "How could this happen? What are we gonna do?" Bree asked.

"I don't know." Chase sighed. "We're in big trouble."

"Wait! I know how we can fix this! We'll convince everyone the video was made with special effects. You know, like those fake videos Adam's always watching." Leo explained.

"So 'Giant Baby eats Tokyo' is fake?" Adam asked before sighing. "I should have known. Where are they gonna get a diaper that big?"

"Leo, that might actually work." Emilia was first to tell him, all of them hoping this was a situation that they could get out of.

"Well, first we better go tell Mr Davenport." At Bree's words, the five of them went to leave the school before Adam stopped them.

"Wait, wait, hold on. Is 'Giant Baby eats London' fake, too? Because I just sent 50 bucks to the victim's relief fund." They sighed at him before rushing out of the school.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

"Mr. Davenport!" Chase was first to call out after they arrived through the front door. Tasha and Donald were already standing at his desk at the time as they walked further into the living room with the latter, calling out. "We just heard."

"What are we gonna do?" Tasha wondered as the other Davenport brother walked into the room to join them.

"I say we sell Chase to the circus and use the money to start our new life." Adam suggested.

Leo stepped forward to stand in front of his step-father. "Big D, I know how we can spin this." He began to say, but Douglas shook his head and cut him off before he could finish.

"Oh, no, no. We're way past spinning, Leo. That video is all over the news." Douglas walked over to the tv with the others following. "Experts have verified the footage wasn't manipulated." He turned the tv on to replay the video, showing that it was legitimate. "People all over the world are freaking out."

"Ah, of course they are. They just saw Chase in a skintight mission suit."

Donald sighed. "Douglas is right. This is way too big to spin." He frowned, walking away from the group.

"I can't believe this." Tasha shook her head. "You guys are the biggest news story ever, and I got scooped!" The woman received looks of disbelief, showing that she wasn't helping in this situation.

Donald approached them again, holding a tablet in his hands. "How could this happen?"

"I don't know. I did a thermal scan on the mission site. No one was there." Chase explained.

"Well, the footage from my Daven-Earth satellite says otherwise. See." Donald showed them the footage on the tablet, zooming in to see a teenage girl hiding behind a bush while filming the team fixing the pipeline. "Someone's standing right there."

"What? But I scanned the site." Chase insisted he had done it, shocked but also confused by this outcome.

Donald sighed at him. "Yeah, well, you missed a spot, and now the entire family is in danger." He walked over to the kitchen.

"Hey! Don't blame him, it's not his fault." Emilia called, coming to Chase's defence, as well as Douglas who followed his brother. "Come on, Donny. The kid made a mistake. Could've happened to anyone."

"Yeah, not really. He's the only one who thermal scans." Adam reminded the man, making Emilia glare at him.

"You're not helping." She sighed.

Leo looked around at all of them. "So, what's our next move?"

Tasha looked hopeful. "Give Tasha Davenport an exclusive interview?" She asked before noticing the looks she was getting. "It's my job to ask."

"Don't worry, guys. I've prepared for this. I've got a safe house at a secure location. You four will hide there. It's got food, capsules, a normal bed for Emilia, everything you'll need for a year's worth of survival." Donald explained to the four bionic-humans.

"A year?" Emilia asked, filled with shock.

"Well, 343 days." Donald corrected. "After that, play rock-paper-scissors and eat the loser." He shrugged before walking past the group, carrying on talking. "In the meantime, I'm gonna hold a press conference, and prove to the world you're not dangerous. When they're ready to accept you, you'll come home. Any questions?"

"Yeah, I finally decided to whiten my teeth." The eldest-bionic sibling piped up. "Wait, that's not a question. So, yeah. No questions."

Donald shook his head at Adam. "Everybody, get your stuff. We leave in five minutes." He said and they all ran out of there.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

"I don't get it." Chase sighed, walking over to Leo and Emilia who stood in the middle of the lab. "I know I scanned the mission site. How did I not notice that girl?"

"Yeah, it is weird." Leo nodded. "Usually, it's the girl who doesn't notice you."

Emilia narrowed her eyes. "Hello? Girlfriend for nearly a year. Right here." She sighed, gesturing to herself. "What is it with everyone forgetting that we're dating."

"You know what?" Chase looked up from his bag and told them. "I'm gonna check my chip log." He started typing into the cyber-desk, when Douglas walked in, carrying a small box.

"Guys, hurry up." He stopped and turned around to look at them. "See, this is why I should have raised you. Then you'd know how to abandon a building."

Chase waved him off before looking at the screen, gasping. "Aha, look!" He pointed at the monitor, letting the others follow his gaze to see Chase's chip log.

"Chase is right. He did do a thermal scan at the mission site."

"Yes! I knew it! Still perfect!" Chase wore a bright smile as he pointed to himself, making Emilia giggle.

"Hey, look." Leo caught their attention. "The time codes match and that's the spot where the girl showed up on Big D's satellite footage, but on your chip log, she's nowhere to be found..." He observed the footages.

"That's impossible. Something weird is going on. I'm gonna tell Mr Davenport."

Douglas nodded. "Good idea." He called out, and stopped Chase at his next words. "But leave out the part about being perfect. It just makes people wanna punch you in the face." The teenager slightly nodded before leaving the lab.

"Hey, you okay?" Leo approached his best-friend, noticing her looking spaced out.

Emilia sighed. "I'm fine. It's just a lot to process, you know? Plus, I can't help but get the feeling, something is going to happen." She spoke softly, making Leo place his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.

A few minutes had passed by, and just as Emilia expected from her bad feelings, the tablet made a noise and Leo turned the camera on the monitor to see what was going on upstairs, revealing the family members upstairs to be surrounded by feds.

"We have to help them." Leo declared.

Douglas sighed. "We don't stand a chance against those guys."

"Then, I'll go rescue them myself." Emilia went to leave the lab, but Douglas stopped her. "Emilia. The only way we can help them is if we don't get captured." He advised. "I know you want to save them, but this time, you can't. We can't risk you being captured too."

Emilia sighed before a whirring noise that came from the elevator caught their attention. Turning to the monitor, they watched the security camera footage to see multiple feds in the elevator.

"They're coming in the elevator." The Dooley boy panicked and the three of them went to run out the tunnels but stopped when they heard running footsteps approaching. "They're coming in the tunnel, too."

"I don't like this." Emilia mumbled.

"We're surrounded." With a panicked look on his face, Douglas looked back at the two teenagers before asking. "You want me to blow up the lab again? I'm good at it."

"Let's make that Plan B." Emilia pulled a face.

"Well, what's Plan A?" Douglas asked.

"This." Leo pressed a button on the tablet before the floor beneath them, opened up and they fell down to the storage basement โ€” the floor closing up just in time before the feds ran in.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

Douglas, Emilia and Leo found themselves at the school, to use it as a hiding place for now until they figured out where to go next.

"You know things are bad if school is my safe place."

Emilia hummed in agreement before the three of them turned the corner after hearing a noise to see Perry going through Bree's locker.

"Principal Perry?" Emilia called out, and quickly, the woman pressed her hands on the wall, with her legs spread out, hiding her face. When she noticed it was them, Perry stood up straight and closed the locker before turning to them. "What are you doing in Bree's locker?"

"Certainly not stealing stuff to sell at my bionic souvenir shop." Perry confessed to what she was doing, before she noticed Douglas. "Ooh, I see you brought the one family member who doesn't disgust me." She shoved Leo aside. "Hello."

Douglas looked at her strangely. "Principal Perry, we need your help." He said calmly, but ignoring what he said, Perry continued to smile. "Please call me Terry. It's easy to remember because it rhymes with marry."

Douglas looked uncomfortable. "Yeah, if it's okay, I'd still like to call you principal because it rhymes with... I have a girlfriend." He stammered out, making Emilia purse her lips.

"Special agents took over the house and have Adam, Bree and Chase in custody. They could still be looking for Emiliaโ€”" Leo tried to inform the woman.

Perry quickly turned to the boy. "Put a sock in it! Mama's trying to get her groove back!"

"It's true. For all we know, they're being grilled by the feds right now." With Douglas being the one telling her, Perry panicked. "No, no, no. If the feds find out I was in on this. I'm cooked. Well, I guess there's only one thing left to do. Trade you three for my freedom."

She pulled her phone out, stepping away to make a phone call, making the others widen their eyes in fear. "No, no, no, no, please. You're our only friend right now." Douglas grabbed her hand to stop her from dialling.

"Well, who can say no to a man with such hairy knuckles." Perry leant her face on his hand until Douglas could finally pull his hand away, feeling creeped out.

"We don't think the bionic video was an accident. This is the girl who did it." Leo showed Perry a picture of the girl. "Have you seen her?"

"No," Perry shook her head at him. "but email me the picture and I'll run it through our student-faculty database. It's supposed to be used for transcripts, but I use it to play the ugly-face-ugly-name game." She laughed before starting to walk away from them. With her eyes on Douglas, she purred. "Be back in a flash my little love troll."

"So, let's think about this." Leo began to say after Perry walked into her office. "The mission alert was for a pipeline that burst because of seismic activity at exactly... Wait." He stopped what he was saying, staring at his phone in silence.

"What's wrong, Leo?" Emilia and Douglas looked over his shoulder to see what he was looking at on his phone.

"This geological website says there was no significant activity yesterday."

"That's weird." Douglas furrowed his brows and moved Emilia in front of him when he saw Perry walk out of her office.

"Nothing came up on your gal. The records say she doesn't exist." Perry explained. "But check out the horse face on this French teacher from Modesto. Bonjour, Matilda Flart." She showed them the picture, making them all yell and look away.

"So no seismic activity, no trace of the girl." Leo recapped. "You know, I'm starting to think this whole mission was a setup."

Douglas pointed a finger at him. "If we could find evidence that the pipe was sabotaged, that would prove it." He voiced his thoughts.

"Good idea." Emilia nodded, on her way to leave with Douglas and Leo before Perry had stopped them.

"Wait! There's one other thing you should know. The school board frowns on parents dating teachers, but let's be honest. You ain't no parent, and I ain't no teacher." She smirked and winked at Douglas who visibly looked uncomfortable, so Emilia pushed them out of there before rushing to the Mission Site to check it out.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ ๏ฝฅ ๏ฝก๏พŸโ˜†: *.โ˜ฝ .* :โ˜†๏พŸ. โ”€โ”€โ”€

After checking out the Mission site, Douglas, Leo and Emilia rushed back to the school to tell Perry about what they thought.

"And that's why Krane cloaked himself as the girl and posted the video. He knew the feds would take Adam, Bree, Chase and Emilia out the picture." Leo finished explaining to his principal.

"Quick question." Perry interjected. "At any point during your dealings with this Krane guy, did my name come up?"

"No." Douglas looked confused to why she asked before him and the teenagers were being shoved away by the woman. "Then get out of my school!"

"Stop!" Leo exclaimed, stopping the woman from shoving them out the building. "Look, we need to tell someone about Krane. It may not free our family, but maybe the feds can stop him."

Douglas whacked Leo on the arm. "You're right. We can't waste anymore time."

"Totally agree." Perry turned to the teenagers and told them. "Dooley, Hunter, you two go back to the house, while me and Douglas hunker down in a remote cabin, very remote, where no one will hear your screams."

"Leo, I'm gonna throw up." The banshee groaned, the feeling of disgust soon going away when they heard the doors behind them opening, making them turn to see Krane.

"There you are." The man smirked evilly, walking into the hallway. Emilia watched the man as he came closer, gulping down nothing before pulling her arm out to push the others behind her. "It's always the last place you look, isn't it?"

Not knowing the person was Krane, Perry took a step forward. "If you're the new health inspector, the money's on the desk in an envelope marked, Art Supplies."

Emilia sighed and pulled the woman back whilst warning her. "That's Krane." Perry's eyes quickly widened in fear before pushing Leo and Emilia in front of her. "Please, take the defenceless child, but leave me the dreamboat of a man." He went to hug Douglas who moved away from her and stood beside Emilia and Leo.

Glaring at Krane, Douglas questioned. "How did you know we were here?"

"I had someone keeping tabs on you." Krane told them. "S-1!" He turned to the door just as a girl walked in, matching the same exact description as the girl who filmed Emilia, Adam, Bree and Chase at the mission site.

"Wait, so that wasn't you in a cloak. There really is a girl?"

Looking at Leo unfazed, the girl started stepping towards him. "Sure is. Ever been beaten up by one?" She threatened.

"Do I need to answer that question?" The Dooley boy asked rhetorically, causing Emilia to smile slightly before she remembered where she was.

"S-1's no mere girl. She's a genetically engineered super-soldier." Krane informed.

"She's bionic, too?" Douglas pointed over to S-1.

"You should be proud." Krane looked towards the Davenport man. "Your technology has come in very handy. I've also upgraded your triton app so I can control her abilities directly from my brain." He looked back at the girl who smirked at him before her eyes glowed green for a moment.

Leo turned his head to Douglas. "Wait, if she's a bionic human, how come she doesn't have a heat signature?" He asked.

"It's one of her many abilities." The bionic male started to say as Leo turned back around. "She can manipulate her body temperature to adapt to her surroundings."

"Where is this going, Krane?" Douglas eyed him suspiciously. "What's your plan?"

Krane responded with an evil laugh. "The world will find out soon enough, but you won't." He held his hand that sparked electricity, and Emilia quickly shoved Douglas and Leo back.

Instantly, Perry pulled the fire alarm and stopped Krane. "Ha! The fire department will be here any minute!" This made Douglas smirk, but what she did, didn't seem to phase Krane.

"Good, then they can clean up the mess."

"No!" Emilia screamed once she saw Douglas and Perry get knocked back unconscious by the man's power.

"Can I take care of the kid?" S-1 asked her leader who turned to her with a smirk.

"Of course." He turned back around, making eye contact with Emilia. "I'll deal with the Protector."

"Leo, run!" Emilia yelled.

The Dooley boy went to do as she said, however, S-1 had stopped him, using a forcefield. "Let me go!" He groaned through a yell, making Krane's smirk widen as he watched the super-solder use her abilities to make the beam above Leo, crack.

"Don't you dare!" Emilia eyes flashed blue before she went to charge at the girl, but Krane stopped her beforehand, putting her in a headlock to keep her there. "I don't think so." He seethed.

Emilia stood there, not being able to move as the beam above Leo finally broke and collapsed down onto him โ€” and the noise that next followed, was the ear-piercing scream that Emilia had let out.

Seeing as Krane now had no grip on her, her eyes flashed blue once again before crouching down and she swept S-1 off her feet, making her fall to the ground with a thud.

"Come on, Krane." Emilia had turned to face him, now smirking. Sensing something behind her, the girl shoved her elbow back and hit S-1 in the face, sending the girl stumbling back. Focusing her attention on Krane, Emilia jump kicked him, making him stumble back as well.

Unfortunately, Krane still managed to stand back up straight and glared at her. As she expected for him to charge at her with one of his abilities, he surprised her by suddenly geo-leaping in front of her and lifted her off the ground as he grabbed her by the throat.

Krane smirked. "You may be powerful, but you're no match for me." He taunted, watching as she started struggling to breath as he tightened his grip on her.

With her raspy breaths, Emilia managed to speak some words. "Y-You are no match for all of us, Krane." She corrected the man, slowly pulling her hand up and grabbed his wrist, using one of her bionic abilities to cause him pain.

This only angered him more, unfortunate for the girl as Krane managed to keep his hand around her neck before he threw her into the lockers where she was knocked out cold, giving him and S-1 the chance to leave the school.
