You weren't sure if your eyes were deceiving you, but the boy in front of you seemed to be smiling.

Oh god, is he looking forward to this lawsuit? I'm so screwed. I should never have opened my dumbass mouth and—

"Let me rephrase, why are you avoiding me?" He asked.

"I- I wasn't!" You protested.

Any idiot can tell you're lying, what are you even trying to do y/n?

You weren't even sure yourself why you were still beating around the bush. If a lawsuit was awaiting you, it was better to just accept it right? You sighed and finally looked Todoroki in the eye again. "How much do I owe you?"

You were fully prepared for him to state a ridiculous amount of money and for you to start having a public meltdown, but now the boy just looked puzzled. "What?"

"Money. How much do you want?"

"You think I need money?" He asked.

"Gee no need to flaunt how rich you are. If you're not here to sue me then what is it for?" You said with a boy so subtle eye roll. "So? Go ahead. File a lawsuit for all I care. Do it. I dare you."

"Lawsuit? Sue you? L/n I'm sorry to say but I'm very confused. I came here to apologise." He states.

"Yeah I thought as muc— wait you what?" You took a double take.

"Apologise? For my rude behaviour. I was drunk and I don't imagine I was polite. I was trying to talk to you so I could explain myself."

"Uh Huh." You nodded slowly. "But just to be clear— you're not filing a lawsuit?" You asked again.

"Of course not, why would I?"

"I ruined your shirt and cursed you out when you were drunk."

"You did?"

"I shouldn't have reminded you if you'd forgotten." You sighed.

He chuckled. "I probably deserved it. I'm quite the asshole when I'm drunk, or so Momo tells me. And everyone else who's had to put up with my drunkenness. So I apologise again if I inconvenienced you." You couldn't help but laugh, not offensively of course. A genuine, relieved laugh. "Is something funny?"

"You speak like you're from the Shakespearean times." You pointed out. "And I never thought a rich guy would apologise."

He seemed to flinch at the mention of his wealth, so you made a mental note not to bring that up often. "Is my apology accepted?"

"Only if mine is too. I wasn't the kindest person to you either. And I'd like to apologise on my friend's behalf." You pointed to Bakugou who narrowed his eyes at you. "He has no manners, and will probably never apologise himself."

This seemed to put Todoroki at ease. "So he's always like that?"

You nodded. "Since birth, probably. I've known him for years and he hasn't got any nicer. But he does care, even if he'll never admit it." You but your tongue after that last line.

Shut the hell up y/n, no one wants to hear your lovesick ass rant about Katsuki and how you're hopelessly crushing on him.

"Sorry, I talked too much."

"It's not a bother." Todoroki assured you. "So, are we friends?" He asked, holding out his hand.

You glanced down at it and back at him before grinning. "Sure, we're friends." You said and shook his hand. "But as a side note, shaking hands to start a friendship is pretty old. I prefer fist bumping."

"Fist what?"

Your yes widened in horror. "Oh sweet chocolate chip muffins please don't tell me you don't know what a fist bump is."

"Uh— I guess I won't tell you then?"

"It's literally just like the name. You bump fists." You stated holding out your hand in a fist. At first he looked worried, as if you were going to punch him, but after realising that it wasn't your intention he held out his hand in the same way and the two of your fists collided. "It's that simple."

"Handshakes are better."

"Handshakes are cool, shaking hands is what grandpas do."

"There's a difference between handshakes and shaking hands?" He asked you, clearly puzzled.

"Oh Todoroki." You shook your head. "I have a lot to teach you."

"I look forward to it."

You introduced Todoroki to Midoriya and his friends, knowing that Todoroki would feel much more comfortable and included with them than around Bakugou and Kaminari.

The rich boy had only properly spoken to you today, and you didn't even know what fist bumps or handshakes were, he definitely wasn't ready to hear you and your friends quoting vines and meme references every waking second, that would scare him most likely.

You couldn't help steal glances at him though, just to make sure he was doing okay and not too confused. His pretty friend, Yaoyorozu has joined him at the table and they all seemed to mix well together much to your relief.

You smiled. You didn't have to worry after all.

The rest of the day flew by without you having to hide in bathroom stalls or run away from a potential suer. You felt more relieved already. Mina kept making fun of you for jumping to conclusions, but you still thought your worries about him possibly wanting to sue you were very valid.

The orientation day had come to an end and most students had made new friends, spoken to new people and were buzzing with excitement as they headed either to their dorms or out to eat.

"L/n, wait." You turned around at the sound of your name and saw Todoroki approaching.

"Oh, hey." You greeted. "Who's your friend?"

"This is Sero, he was in my last group during orientation." Todoroki introduced.

"Heya Sero. I'm l/n y/n."

"I fisted him." Todoroki told you casually.

You choked on air, laughing so suddenly it caught him off guard. "You did what?"

"Fisted? The thing you taught me during break." Todoroki answered looking confused.

You turned to Sero. "Did you tell him that?"

Sero nodded proudly with a shit eating grin. "I can't believe he believed it."

You chuckled for another few moments. "Sero, I think we'll be great friends."

"Is fisting not the same as fist bumping?" The rich boy asked, even more puzzled now.

"Todoroki, no—" You said between laughter. Every time he said the word 'fisting' you only laughed harder. "They're very different things, and it's probably best if you never say 'fisting' ever again. Trust me."

Although he was still visibly confused, he nodded and continued walking while you and Sero were still laughing at the innocent boy. "Good one." You whispered to him.

"Thank you." He whispered back, his proud smile never leaving his face.

And you were certain he'd fit right in with your newly made group of friends.
