"B- boke. "

Boke?

"Hinata boke..." He trailed off.

Of course he was dreaming of his boyfrien-
I mean, best friend.

(A/N: don't worry readers, in this fic, KageHina is strictly bromance only)

I almost laughed aloud but I bit my tongue to stop myself.

"No, no! Run the other way! Dumbass!" A giggle slipped past your lips and Kageyama's brows furrowed. You worried that you'd disturbed his sleep until he relaxed again.

You breathed out a sigh of relief and began to walk away when you heard him mutter something else.

"Oikawa-san?"

You stopped for a second. Oikawa-san?

"No, I won't lose to you this time."

You shook your head, smiling. Volleyball means that much to him, huh?

You left to go upstairs to your room, you still had plenty of homework to do since you had spent the evening cleanly frantically. You climbed the stairs and slumped at your desk, ready to do your work.

Unbeknownst to you, downstairs on the couch, Kageyama hadn't stopped sleep talking.

"I won't lose (f/n) to you again, Oikawa-san."

~•~

You jolted awake, feeling shivers run down your spine.

Did I fall asleep?

Checking the clock, you realise you did, in fact, fall asleep.
It was now 3:27 a.m.

You got up from your desk and pulled on a hoodie, but you still felt cold. You dived onto your bed, wrapping the duvet around yourself like a burrito and closed your eyes in attempt to sleep.

No luck.

You tossed and turned for about 20 minutes before giving up temporarily.
Grabbing a thin blanket, you wrapped it around yourself like a cape before heading downstairs, trying not to make much noise.

You passed the living room as silently as you could, attempting not to wake Kageyama who was sleeping on the couch, and making your way into the kitchen. You opened the fridge door and heated a cup of milk for yourself.

"What the hell are you doing?" Asked a sleep deprived voice.

You almost jumped in surprise but to your relief it was Kageyama. He was good at that. Noiselessly sneaking up on you.
"I wanted some warm milk." You said quietly, not wanting to wake your grandma even though she was a very deep sleeper. "I heard warm milk makes you sleepy."

"It does." He confirmed. You figured you could classify this as a fact since the milk expert was the one talking. "Could I get some too?"

You nodded and handed your cup to Kageyama straight from the microwave, before heating another cup for yourself, not wanting to make him wait another while.

He leaned against the fridge, his tall figure looking unusually attractive at night.

Control your hormones (f/n).

He watched you with curious eyes which made your heart pound as you opened a tin of sugar and dumped half a spoon of sugar into your milk and stirred it.
"You are one strange species." He muttered.

"Hey! Aliens like me have their preferences too." You argued. "I bet you've never even tried your milk with sugar."

To your surprise he held out his cup of milk to you. "Enlighten me."

Without any hesitation, you put a bit of sugar in his cup and mixed it for him, pushing his hand back. "Try it!" You chirped excitedly.

He sighed and shook his head at you, but took a sip of his milk and his eyes widened. "It's... actually really sweet. I like it."

You punched the air with a victorious smile. "I've converted you!" You giggled and quickly gulped down your milk, washing the cup in the sink.

He followed after you and reached out to open the tap to wash his cup when you took it from his hands.
"I'll do the washing in my house." You insisted, knowing your grandma would kill you if she found out you let the guest do any work at all.

You showed Kageyama to his room, then. Not wanting him to crash on the couch when there was a bed for him to sleep on. "We've two extra bedrooms, and we might as well put them into good use." He brought the duvet to his room and you brought his pillows.

"Good night, Tobio. Sleep well."

"Good night, (f/n). Sweet dreams."

You were just about to say it back when you noticed that he was asleep. You chuckled to yourself and closed the door. "Sweet dreams, king." You mumbled under your breath and headed back up to your room, this time finding it much easier to drift to sleep.

I guess the milk did it's job. You thought, feeling your eyes slowly get heavier and heavier, until they shut tight and your mind floated off to the land of dreams.

~•~

You felt a tap on your shoulder, bright and early in the morning.
It had to be at least 9 a.m. though, your grandma wouldn't be awake before then.

"Grandma, 5 more minutes." You mumbled and pulled the covers over your head.

"Uh, (f/n)?" You sat up straight faster that you thought you could at the sound of Kageyama's voice.

"Gah! Oh my god you scared me!" You shouted, then slapped your hand over your mouth, appalled at hearing your own morning voice.

He shook his head at you. "It's fine, now get up. It's almost 11." Your eyes widened and you snapped out of your self hate sesh which was going on in your head since you despised your morning voice.

"It's 11 already? Shit!" You leaped out of your bed, grabbing your bra from under your pillow (because let's be real, what kind of a psycho would torture themself by wearing a bra to sleep?) and dashed into the bathroom to freshen up.

"Oh, (f/n)?" He called.

"Hm?"

"You morning voice is cute." Kageyama left your room, unphased by your behaviour since he had known you for quite a while, but your heart was beating abnormally fast when he'd said that.

I must be feeling sick.

You rushed downstairs, only to find that it was just past 6 a.m.
Kageyama just tricked you.

06:09 was what your digital clock claimed the time to be. And you sure as hell trusted the clock more than Kageyama when it came to sense of time.

(A/N: if you get rid of the '0's in 06:09 then it's 69 lmao-)

You turned to him with an accusing look, but he shrugged. "Hinata's gonna meet us outside for an early morning run. You should come too, your ankle seemed to be perfectly fine yesterday."

You faked an overly dramatic sharp pain in your foot. You bent down and clutched your ankle. "Oh no! I think my ankle's hurt again! I shouldn't strain it should I?"

"(F/n), you're holding the wrong leg." He deadpanned.

You sweat dropped. "It's too earlyyy!" You whined. "I need sleep! I've barely slept all night!"

"Exercise is good for you."

"So is sleep. I'm heading back in." You said, turning your back to the raven haired boy and heading towards the stairs again.

"Come on (f/n). It'll be just like old times." This made you stop in your tracks and you narrowed your eyes at him.

"You really have to play that card?" A heavy sigh escaped you, but you nodded. "Gimme 10 minutes. I'll be right down."

All the way up the stairs, you felt Kageyama's eyes bore into you, and you glanced at him before closing your bedroom door.

Kageyama was beaming at you with delight. And for some reason, you felt your heart race.
