It was June. A few days left of school. Epiphany had met her birth mother and Alex learned that he actually was living with family his entire life, his grandmother, November. School was hard, but you learned to balance it with life at home and your friends. Serenity and Rosetta did make up, but Rosetta claims that you're her new best friend, and things just aren't the same between her and Serenity. Angelina is really enjoying her last year, thanks to her friends, and her new ones like Epiphany, You, and Rosetta, now she can finally relax. Duke is the same mischievous Duke he was before, he returned the crystal to his Grandfather, getting a big scolding about it. He looks foreword to getting out of the Academy as soon as he can. Alex is happier than ever. His life finally feels complete. Although he'll never know his father, because not even Epiphany's father remembers who he was, Alex doesn't mind. He found two of his mothers. And Angelina is almost like his third as it is. As for you.... well, let's take a look at what happened to you...

Throwback to January....
You and Epiphany were hanging out with Rosetta, Angelina, and Alex one evening, going on a nice stroll in the evening through a small town. It was a human town, but it small and near a big forest. You were wearing

And you felt really good. The sun was just going down around six because it was that time of year. You had a big winter jacket on from the cold, and the five of you kept walking and chatting. Suddenly you guys heard a scream in the distance.
"What was that?!" Epiphany called. Angelina stopped in her tracks and listened for noise.
"I'm not sure, it's best we get going though, it's getting dark and I'm sure Scarlett is freezing in that dress." She gestured to you. You smiled,
"Don't worry about me I'm fine." You weren't as cold as you thought you would be. As you guys kept going you got closer to the forest, making it to Angelinas car. Rosetta was next to you, the other three in front. Suddenly you heard a bunch of shuffling. *Shckshcksshcks. You...
A) look around with your head unsure of where the sound was coming from.
B) quickly cling to Rosetta's arm. "What is that noise?" You ask scared.
C) walk a little closer to the trees, your friends watching, trying to see what it is.
D) say, "Guys let's not go this way, I'm kinda scared." And start walking the other way.

A) You keep hearing shuffling and you decided it was from the trees. Angelina is also looking around.
"We should be coming to the car soon." Alex says.
"Okay." You say. Suddenly you feel a huge pain on your shoulder and back, and you fall to the ground. The earth is vibrating and Epiphany and Rosetta scream. You feel paralyzed, then suddenly three incredibly fast teenagers, two girls, one boy run over you, literally stepping on you. You want to cry but you can't. You can only watch as your friends are being attacked but what you thought were other vampires, but way more viscous. You felt warm all over and you closed your eyes in pain. After a bunch of screaming and thumps you hear, someone call your name,
"SCARLETT!!!" You couldn't tell which girl said it. Suddenly you felt the heavy weight lifted off of you and you opened your eyes to see that you were laying on Epiphany's lap, the other three were looking down at you.
"Oh my word..." Rosetta covered her mouth.
"This is really bad, really bad!" Angelina cried.
"What do we do, what do we do?" Epiphany asked frantically.
Angelina was pacing and Alex looked at her than held her wrist.
"Angelina." He said. She shook her head vigorously.
"No no no..." She cried.
"We have to!!" Rosetta yelled.
"I can... do it for you." Alex said. You could hardly see them, your vision was too blurry.
"No, no... I'll... I'll do it. I know how much it means to you to stay clean..." Angelina said. You were so confused, but at the same time you felt every care drop out of you. You just wanted to sleep. You were exhausted and in pain. Suddenly you saw Angelina lean in close to you, her drapey silver earrings brushing against your chest as you suddenly felt a sharp pierce in your neck. Your eyes widened and... You felt every inch of you transform. Light poured in and you were cold. Your heart surely stopped. Suddenly you were able to see and all your pain was gone. You opened your eyes and saw that Epiphany, Rosetta, and Angelina were crying. Alex looked down at you, frown on his face.
"What...?" You looked around at your surroundings, you saw Angelina wipe away something red from her mouth as tears spilled down her face. You looked down to yourself, your clothes stained red. When you saw the blood you felt yourself want to launch out at it, it smelt so good. At that moment you knew.
"Oh my gosh." You say. That's all you can manage.
"Oh my gosh." You repeat, looking at a huge log that was covered in blood. Suddenly you feel yourself start to cry, but it's a lot harder than you suspected. Like the tears were trying to stay in.
"I'm... a vampire... aren't I? I died, didn't I?" Epiphany nodded her head, crying and just held you tight.
"Angelina. Get in here. I'm not upset. Come on." You waved her over and she was hesitant. She nodded and slowly came into your arms, crying.
"Thank you... for saving me." You say giving her a hug, tears spilling from your face as well. That was when Angelina learned that being a vampire wasn't the worst thing. For the next while you stayed with your vampire friends, not wanting to risk your parents of any harm, and you learned how to control your own bloodlust.
Vampire fate.
B) "I don't know..." Epiphany says. Alex suddenly holds his arm out in front of you.
"Vampires." Angelina says. Suddenly three vampires rush out of the trees, two women and one boy. You're terrified for your life. Instantly Angelina and Alex start attacking them. Rosetta and Epiphany start protecting you, even more so Rosetta, whereas Epiphany was more a shield. You watch the fight in fear, wide eyed. Tye slashing and brutal force they used was obviously more than a normal human can manage. You're hearts beating fast as you processed the fact that the reason they're here is probably because your scent lured them in. With a fast and swift movement you hear a loud crunch! That's when you notice that one of the vampires is laying on the ground, unmoving. You feel horrified, and you see the other girl and boy look at her, shocked.
"You want more?!!" Rosetta screams at them with a vile tone you've never heard in her.
"Get lost!" She yells as hesitantly rush back through the forest. Angelina holds her hands in horror. You break down crying from the fear and murder you just witnessed.
"Are you okay?" Alex asks you worried. You sniff for a moment, trying to find words.
"Th-thank you... thank you so much." You cry. He looks at you with a subtly confused expression and Angelina duplicates it.
"How 'thank you' when I killed someone? She must've been only fourteen!" Angelina yelled, her eyes getting watery.
"Don't yell at her!" Rosetta hissed. Epiphany came between them.
"Guys, stop! Angelina, you protected Scarlett from dying! Try to see it from her perspective! You are such an amazing person. I know it's rough, but think of it this way... that girl was already dead..." She said. Angelina was silent, looking at the ground. You quickly moved your numb legs and ran to your traumatized friend, hugging her.
"Angelina, thank you... You had my back, you're an amazing friend." You say, looking up to her. Your heart was beating quick. You where scared and shocked, but the shock also allowed you to ignore the disturbance and feel grateful for your life.
"Everyone, thank you for protecting me... I can't believe I could've died in that moment." You looked at them. They all nodded and smiled to you, Alex brushing your hair messily.
"Y-you're welcome..." Angelina said, finally allowing herself to smile. You two pulled away, Epiphany instantly squeezing you, causing you to smile and gasp for air.
"Let's go." Alex said and gave you a piggyback ride to the car. You five drive on the highway mostly silent. You were forever thankful to have vampire friends, or else you would've been dead. Angelina realized for the first time that it's not that bad being a vampire, it can actually be quite useful at times.
Human fate.
C) You peered into the darkness, trying to see through the trees.
"Careful, Scarlett." Angelina warns. Suddenly you see something like a ghost, white and fast. Before you could even mutter one word you felt a cold body press against you, a girl with purple hair in a bun. Your eyes widen, and you feel her freezing hands come to your face, and she tilts your head and leans in. Your heart speeds up and you feel a tight pinch.
"AAAAGGGGAAAaaaa...!" Your scream dies out as you close your eyes to see only blackness. You feel your limbs go weak and your heart stops... Suddenly bright yellow light filled your vision. You felt every part of you transform. You open your eyes to see that you're still alive, and you wipe your neck. Blood covered your hand and you felt a horrible desire to lick all the blood off of you. It smelt so good. Wait, what?! You think to yourself, widening your eyes.
"SCARLETT!" Rosetta screamed. She was by your side in seconds, you looked at her speechlessly.
"I-" you looked at you bloody hand.
"I'm a... Vampire..." You say in a quiet soft voice, due to your shock. You hear Angelina and Alex fighting the three vampires behind as you hear Epiphany running up to you.
"Scarlett! Are you okay?!" Epiphany yells then stops when she sees your neck. Rosetta's looking at you silently, hand holding your arm delicately. Epiphany frowns and you see tears well up in her eyes.
"Oh, Scarlett...!" She cries and takes you into her embrace, her face resting on your collarbone region. You hug her back, Rosetta starting to sniffle as well. Suddenly Alex and Angelina were before you as well.
"Scarlett, are you alright?!" Alex asks, holding your shoulder. Epiphany and Rosetta pull away, and you reveal your neck to them.
"I'm... no longer human." You say. Their eyes widen and Angelina punches her fist into her hand.
"I... can't believe it! Dang it all! I was... too late!" She cried. You look at her worried and concerned, startled by her reaction.
"It's not your fault." Alex says to her. She looks at him with an upset expression.
"I was too slow! Another one falls to this curse!" She yells. Rosetta and Epiphany look down sadly. You step up to her.
"This is not a curse." You say. She looks at the ground.
"Angelina, look at me." You say and take her arm. She looks up to you and you see her eyes are watery.
"They could've killed me. In fact, I'm so happy that I'm still alive. I was only bitten, and I have you guys, all of you to protect and guide me! You are my role model Angelina, and if you weren't a vampire you wouldn't be! So don't call this a curse!" You say, tears daring to prick your eyes. She looks at you speechless and you take her into a hug.
"I guess... it's not that bad..." She says and a small smile makes its way to her tear stained face.
"Let's go home." Rosetta said. You walked hand in hand with Epiphany back to the car.

D) "But the cars the other way." Alex says. You keep walking the other way and suddenly you hear a huge commotion. Quickly you turn around to see three other people, but you were certain they weren't humans. A purple haired girl, a red haired girl, and a dirty blonde boy. They were viscously attacking your friends, most of them could fight back, but Epiphany was struggling, standing behind Alex, Rosetta trying to protect her and fight at the same time. They were monstrously slashing and you watched wide-eyed. Suddenly an idea formed in your head and you started to run back into the town. You found the grocery store and bolted down the aisles, looking for it. The store was going to close really soon. Suddenly your eyes came across garlic, and you bought five of them. Quickly you ran as fast as you could through the cold January air, each breath visible.
"What are you doing?! Stay back!" Angelina shouted. Your heart was racing fast and you really hoped your plan would work, so you pulled out the garlic, trying not to get it too close to your friends.
"AGGH!" The three screamed.
"What the?!" They covered their noises and ran away. Quickly you put it back in the bag and looked at your friends who were also covering their noises.
"Scarlett, you're a genius!" Rosetta shouted!
"Wow, nice job!" Alex said.
"I would give you a hug but... your hands reek of garlic." Epiphany said. You couldn't help but laugh.
"Whoa... I had no idea that I would be the one saving you guys. Let's get home before another terrifying thing like that happens, okay?" You say rushing them to the car.
"Are guys okay?" You ask your silent vampire friends.
"Yeah, thanks to you Scarlett. I admire your bravery." Angelina says. It's a pretty loud car ride home as you guys blast the music flying down the highway.
Human fate.

As convocation came around you sadly said your goodbyes to Angelina and Duke. The gowns were black with a red strip down the side.
"Angelina, thank you for being Hemo Academy's guardian. You were not only Alex's motherly friend, but to all of the students you interacted with. I'll miss your presence so much." You said to her. She looked at you and smiled.
"Oh come here." She said and held her arms open for you. You gladly embraced her and she patted your back saying,
"I learned quite a few things from you, Scarlett." She smiled.
"Goodbye."
Duke smiled at you and pat your head.
"This school was lacking someone like you." He said in his cool voice. You looked up at him with a weirded out expression.
"Hahaha... thanks. I guess you're an interesting guy yourself." You joked. He laughed and you were surprised when he brought you into a hug. A small smile appeared on your face and you hugged back. When you were walking to the big main doors of school you heard someone call you.
"Scarlett!" You turned around to see Epiphany, in a pretty magenta dress, and a nice necklace on.
"Epiphany." You smiled. She took both your arms and held them.
"Scarlett, I'm not coming back to Hemo Academy next year." She said, looking deeply into your eyes.
"What?" You question.
"I'm old." She laughs lightly at your reaction.
"I've been long done my high school years. I've already graduated." She says with a smile.
"E-Epiphany..." You say feeling a little sad at her news.
"I know Scarlett, I'm sorry to leave you. Your were my greatest friend I've ever had. I'm pretty sure the past me would agree too. Your humour and kind heart got me through this year, especially through my rough patch. I'm so thankful to have met you." She says and takes you into a hug. You hold her back before she pulls always and says,
"But hey, you always have my number." She held up her phone and the two of you laugh lightly.

A) "Thank you Epiphany, for everything. I'll miss you lots. Have a great summer." You say.
B) "That's true. On a serious note though, I'll miss you so much. Thank you for being in my life, Epiphany." You say.

She nods and smiles saying, "Of course. I'll see you around." And like that she runs to some other people and you push open the tall dark doors of Hemo Academy.
"See you next year." You say to the castle building.
