47. A surprise in a Song
The trip back to Hastinapur was just as boring as the trip coming here had been, save for the incident at the pond.
Now, I was sleeping the whole time. It was rather peaceful, even if it was a boring journey.
As we finally reached Hastinapur late at night, I was overwhelmed with my brother 's love.
" Acha acha! Alright. " I said, laughing as I broke out of the hug we received.
" Where's Jyeshth? " Yudhishthir asked.
" Jyeshth Yudhishthir, Jyesht bhrata Karn has returned to Angdesh. He said that he needs to handle the urgent requirements and confront some leaders for their misconduct. " Bheem answered.
"Oh. Won't he be going to Varnavart with us? " I asked.
"Nahi bhabhishree, he says he'll meet you all when we return. " Sahdev said, while mata looked sad.
"It's alright mata, you have us, we'll never let you feel sad. " Nakul said, while Bheem put in, " Haan haan. Nakul would only keep admiring his 'beauty' in the mirror. Nakul, do you know you admire your self in the mirror more than bhabhishree. "
Nakul visibly turned red and said, " Well, that's because I have such a beautiful face. "
"Haw! Are you trying to say bhabhishree isn't beautiful? Look Jyeshth, Nakul is insulting your wife. " Arjun instigated, as Yudhishthir laughed at Nakul's pale face and my mock glare.
" Bhabhishree, you had Jyeshth for a week. May we borrow him away tonight? " Bheem tugged on Yudhishthir's hand.
"Why not. Go ahead. " Me and mata meanwhile went back to her room.

" So outri, how was your getaway? "
"Oh mata, I must tell you, the flowering fields were so beautiful, I can't imagine a land more peaceful. Beautiful flowers, the humblest of homes. We even danced in the fields... Y-Arya and I attempted to make kheer, nearly burning it and making it a bit too sweet, but it tasted wonderful. " I gushed.
"Oh my dear. I am so happy you had the chance to experience that. When I first got married, Arya had to leave for war and returned with more than just a glorious victory. I truly made ace for Madri in my heart, I did, but it did break my heart when Arya brought another bride. " She said, a bit despondent.
"It's alright mata, as they say, it all happens for reasons unknown to us, it's all Narayan's wish. "
'Yes it is. '
'Shut up. I am talking to mata. '
"Putri! " Mata shook, and I looked at her startled.
" Are you alright? You look pale and looked away suddenly. " She worried, a hand on my face.
"Don't worry mata. I'm fine. " I said. My eyes teared at her love. It had been so long since someone loved me like my mother did.
"Oh putri, did I say something wrong?" She asked, noticing my tears.
So I simply put my head in her lap.
"No mata, you could never, I was just missing my own mata. "
"But I'm right here putri. " She said.
"What? " I asked confused.
"I am also your mata aren't I? Or do you only call me so -"
"Nahi nahi mata. I didn't mean that. It'd just, as a child I used to spend so much time with mata, going to the fields to watch her garden, watching her make food for pitashree with love. It just made me remember her. "
"Well, why don't you go meet her after we return from Varnavart putri?"
"I'd have to die for that. " I mumbled.
"What? I couldn't hear putri. " She said, running her fingers through my hair.
"Oh nothing. I meant I'll definitely do that later. " I answered, closing my eyes and giving into the love.
"Putri, I meant to ask. Is everything right between you and Yudhishthir? " She asked, hesitantly.
I got up, hearing her worried tone.
"Why mata? Do you feel something is amiss? " I enquired... Are our banters appearing like fights?
"No it's just. It has been so many months since the wedding and - well, I would love to have a child to play with, now that I am old. "
Oh come on! This thing?
" I understand mata. I'll bring this up with Arya. " I answered, looking down.
"No no. Putri, don't mistake my words for contempt. I truly understand how it feels to have to worry about taking care if a child when one's not ready. Believe me I do. I just thought there is something wrong. " She smiled, holding my hands.
" I know mata. It's alright. I understand your concern too. I promise you, I won't let you loose on the magic of pampering and spoiling my children. " I laughed.
" I am glad you see my way of things putri. " She said, pulling me into a hug.
"Bhabhishree." I heard, but it wasn't in the cheerful four voices I loved.
"Speak Dushasan. " I said, bidding mata with love.
"Bhabhishree, won't you join me for a game of dyut. " He asked, a sincere glow in his eyes. Sometimes I feel he isn't that bad, just has been influenced by the two idiots sitting on his head.
"Alright. We'll play in the gardens. "
"Why the gardens? We can play in your or my room. "
"Nahi nahi. Otherwise your Jyeshth will find another reason to blame me as characterless. " I answered, as he looked down guiltily.
"I understand bhabhishree, but I can't go against my Jyeshth, he has raised me and us all. It is his right to the throne too. "
"No one ever said he didn't have one. But his crook and jealous nature snatched it from him, not my husband. " I answered coldly.
" Anyways, I invited you out for a game. May we? " He asked.
"We shall, come. "
He was a rather fun sport, engaging me in the game.
"Hah! I win again! " He shouted happily.
You remind me of my sister Dushasan. Even she loves to play like this.
" Bhabhishree, I'll take your leave now. I need to practice my archery. Pranipat. " He said, leaving me to my thoughts.
I felt two hands wrap around my eyes.
"Who's there? "
The one with his hands didn't speak.
"Who's there! Tell me or I'll call for my husband. He's one of the mightiest warriors! " I yelled.
" Oh is he? Then must I fear him, for you have one my heart. " I heard a whisper.
"Oh well, I mean. You should fear him. He looked after his entire family. He's just as strong mentally as he is physically and he won't let any harm come to me. " I answered proudly.
" He will never. " I heard another whisper, followed by a kiss to my cheek.
" How did you know it was me? "ย He asked, coming to sit in front of me.
"Do you want to practical answer or the romantic one? " I asked, laughing at his flabbergasted face.
"Why, can't I hear both? " He said, " I also want to know what my lovely wife has deduced. Is she just as smart as the sh-Sher-sherlock. Yes, Sherlock Holmes she talks about. "
"No one can be as smart as him, even if he's fiction. I think there is someone who's come close, but I don't know. Anyways, for your practical answer, the hands were of a male's, the callouses from the weaponry, no brother of mine would dare to do this without you in my presence. Duryodhan practically hates me and Dushasan just left." I answered.
"Now the other one? " He whispered yet again, pulling my hands close to his lips.
"Well-uh."
"Go ahead. "
"Well, even if you were lost among a million people in the world, I would recognize you by the top of your head." I answered shyly.
"Oh, is that so dear wife? " He asked.
"Oh yes, it is. "
"Well, I wouldn't need to look at the top of your head. All I need to see is your eyes. " He answered.
Are we competing or what!
"Do you want to say that you love me more than I you? "
"What -no! When did I -"
"No no. I heard enough. " I said, puffing up my cheeks and turning around.
"Arre Priye. Please listen! I never meant -"
"Nope. I am not listening. Mata told me to say something to you, but I won't tell you now. " I answered, hiding my smile.
" But - " I walked away, hands tight against my mouth to muffle my laugh.

I was sitting on the bed holding Toothless, waiting to go to bed, when I heard a melodious sound.
I turned my eyes to the sound when I felt two hands snaking around my waist .
"What are you upto? " I asked, feigning anger.
" Ji, humein manzoor hai -" He looked at me expectantly, hoping that I would continue.
I think it's enough of drama now right...ย So I put my hand in his, hoping to dance.
" Aapka, yah faisla, ji humein mazoor hai, aapka, ye failsala -" I was twirled around in his arms, looking at the ceiling.
" Keh rahi hai har nazarย banda parvar shukriya -" He sat down on his knees, as I held his finger, bending both sides and looking into his warm eyes.
"Do jahan ki aaj khushiyan ho gayi haasil mujhe "
"Aapki nazaron ne samjha. " We finished, landing into each other's arms.
" So? You now know... Don't you? " He said, smiling.
"What? No! You still haven't apologised. "
" Oh my dear wife... was the song not enough? "
" So now you're measuring your live? I won't talk to you any-" I was shut up with a hand on my mouth.
"Do you ever not talk. I am sorry my dear heart. Now? " He said, gently removing his hand.
"Alright... But first... I need to tell you something.... "
