124. A bro in need is a bro indeed
Coming from someone who has been a part of someone's schemes, try to avoid them as much as possible, or, think farther than they do.
I posses neither of those skills. I am not a quick thinker. But my husband and my dear friend is.
So that's what we ended up doing.
Krishn and Yudhishthir sat in the lounge, while we discussed further strategies. Bheem, Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev too sat by, waiting on what their Samrat decided. Jyeshth had gone home to his parents.
" But is it wise to have the army out? Wouldn't that indicated agression on our part? " Yudhishthir asked, when Krishn shook his head.
" No Jyeshth, you misunderstand. I don't want you to have your guards armed all threoigh the eight prahars of ghe day, just enough for someone to know, that if they dare attack you, they will suffer. " Krishn moved the cavalry to the main gate on the map.
" But Govind, why don't we just take up war. If you so claim it to be inevitable, why delay it? We've taken our five years. Karali's insult needs to be avenged! Mini's culprit must be punished! " Sphulingini exclaimed.
" Sakhi, all that has to happen happens on its own time. We cannot have war right now, because your husband and his brothers need to meditate. You need to earn the required powers to be able to fight -"
" - why so much effort just to kill those hundred idiots? " Sahadev growled and Krishn rested a hand on his shoulder.
" Sahadev, one must always be prepared, for any scenario, you may think that it's just a war among you, but this war will consume all of Aryavart with it. This war is the holy fire, in which, the deaths of all the adharmis is the ultimate sacrifice to Kaal Bhairav. The one who brings justice to all. He brings them to their kaal, " Krishn said and my mind drifted to our conversation nearly two years ago.
' Other than your husband and his brothers, all of Aryavart and Kuruvansh will lose their lives in this war. It is inevitable'
" Sagarika? What do you think? " I was shook put of my reverie by q concerned Kali, who put her hand on my head out of comfort.
" I -" My heart caught in my chest, fear bubbling in me as I scanned the room.
" Mumma! " A sudden voice called, as Abhi rushed in, thumping into my legs as he threw his hands around my waist.
" Didi and I made a new friend! Vir!" He exclaimed, as Madhu ran in with Krishn's son from the courageous, Nagnajiti.
Just as courageous as his mother, he too held the bravery in his honey eyes, ones he borrowed from his mother, while the curly, dark jet black, hair from his father.
" Mumma? " A concerned voice asked as two small hands made their way to my face, wiping away what I realised were tears.
" Are you alright mumma? Did something hurt you? " Madhu asked suddenly, her new friend abandoned as she walked over to me.
" Sagarika? " Yudhishthir asked, himself standing up, while I felt all other eyes on me in the room, yet the one that hurt the most were the ones who looked over to me, not in pity, not in sadness. But in plain acceptance of the truth.
" Sakhi, I think you have become far too emotional knowing your children have made friends. Does Madhu really not make many friends? " Krishn teased as I felt Yudhishthir's hand on my shoulders.
" Is everything alright? " He asked softly, but my eyes were still trained on both Madhu and Abhi.
" No -I -" But it made no sense, my mind was running faster than I should let it, my hands were sweaty as I wrung them, then wiped them on my saree.
" Bhabhishree? " Arjun asked, further concerned.
" I -I need to -I need to go. " I shrunk back, running out of the door, my feet carrying me, the path unknown.
But I bumped into the last person I ever expected.
" AJ! " I exclaimed, panting as I got up, his face shifting from mocking to concern as he tracked the shift in my mood.
" Saag? " He asked and I shook my head, shifting to move away when he grabbed my shoulders.
" Come here, " He forced me into a room, lighting the lamps.
" Sit. " He sat me down, offering me a glass of water.
" What is it? Why does the Samragyi of Aryavart so frazzled? " He asked,
" What have you heard that has hurt you so much? " He shook my face, eyes finally landing on his own.
But I couldn't control my fear when I saw the concern and fear in his eyes.
" I -Krishn -" I sobbed, breath catching as I tried to breathe through the fear.
" Krishn? What did he do now? Married Madhu off to someone? " He asked and I shook my head.
" Dead! They'll all be dead! Krishan says all of them will be dead! " I cried and his eyes hardened.
" What do you mean all of them will be dead? " His voice turned cold as he saw the shadow that appeared at the doorway.
" He said they'll die! " I yelled,
" Krishn says my son! All the sons that carry the blood of Kuruvansh will die! " I heaved, heart catching in my throat at even the thought of Abhi's death.
I still remember the day he was born.
"Yudhishthir!" I screamed! As pain shook my body , fear consuming my heart as I held his hand, nearly crushing it down.
" Don't worry, you'll be fine. We'll be fine. You're so strong my dear, " He whispered, his hands running over my own as I yelled out yet again. The contractions far too strong.
" What is taking so long! What is wrong! " Yudhishthir demanded, eyes bulging at the midwives as it had been nearly eight hours since I had been sitting in labour.
" The baby is breeching my Lord! " A midwife tried.
My heart beat louder at her words, my eyes widening.
" Breech? " He wondered out loud as he looked at them in confusion.
" What does that mean? " He mumbled as they were far too busy.
" It means -" I broke off with another yell as I felt my energy drain, my body nearly give up, " - it means the baby is coming feet first! " I shouted, yet again I could feel his small feet pushing at my walls.
" So is there no way to fix this! " He yelled and they shook this head, " Nothing other than allowing the child to come out naturally my Lord, " One of them said, but my painful screams brought his eyes back to me.
" You tell me, is there no way to fix this? " He insisted.
" That's the only way! " I cried and he shook his head, " If that was the case, then, what difference does it make! Head or feet! What are they not telling me? " He asked to no one in particular.
" It means she will bleed out if the baby doesn't come out on time! " A midwife answered as his face turned white with fear.
" Blood loss? " He muttered as I nodded, then he steeled his face.
" Don't worry. I'll help.. I'll pull the child out -"
" -are you insane! You'll tear her apart! " A midwife yelled and he shook his head.
" No, I won't have to. We will pull the baby out carefully. One limb by one limb, " He spurred into action, washing his hands in the warm water, as he rushed down, face paling at the sure amount of blood that covered my body.
" Right, you need to listen to me Sagarika, " He said, " When I tell you, you must push, hard, " He looked for confirmation from the midwife, who acquiesced.
" Alright, now, " He said, his hand gripping onto what felt to be my baby's feet.
Gently, he guided one foot out, then the other, then the hand, and when it came to the head, my own fear trumped any courage I had.
" You must breathe my dear, that's it," Yudhishthir muttered, as he gently pulled him out, the cries that pierced the air were the first signs of peace I felt in the nearly ten hours my body had struggled.
It might have taken him a while, but that day, he saved our lives. Mine and my son's.

" Sagarika, whatever has to happen will happen. Your future isn't decided that he has said it will happen and it will happen. Isn't that why we forgot many of the incidents that happened when we came here? We don't remember so many of the true incidents. What we do know is what happened now, you must calm down -"
" - calm down! I will lose my son! " I screamed and he held my face.
" Saag! You're being very, very pessimistic, you don't understand. You must understand, no one can write your fate for you -"
" - but they can write my destiny! "
" If you allow them too. Who gave Krishn the right to write your life! Your son's life! You need to understand. You are enough to protect him -"
" - his vajr!" I broke off, my mind reaching clarity.
" Vajr? " AJ asked confused and I shook my head.
" After he was in the fire with me, he gained, what Krishn called his Vajr body. " I paced around the room.
" Then why are you so worried! Why do you trust him over your own love for your son! " He exclaimed and I sighed.
" I don't know what to think! You expect me to think clearly when I am told my son can die! "
" Yes! " He cried, grabbing my shoulders, " You need to think clearly because you are their mother! You must be positive so that they can be. " He sighed, holding my face.
" Saag, you must realise, we're the masters of our own fate. No one can change it if we don't want it to. When Markandey himself staved off death, in the face of Yamraj, defying Mahadev's boon himself, then you are Karali! The flame herself! You cannot fall weak! Especially not for you children, " He advised, " You must be strong Saag. They depend on you to be. "
I nodded, my fear leaving, even if it's clutches would always be present in my mind.
But as the door creaked open, I saw a teary eyed Yudhishthir standing in the doorway.
" Dead? " He whispered and my face drained off all colour, a new fear gripped my heart.
" Yudhishthir-" I began, but he stormed away, his footfalls created dread in my heart.
" Go apologize to him, " AJ mumbled and I nodded.
" I should have told him, shouldn't I?" I asked absently, even as I began moving towards him.

I know. I know... Updating at 1 in the night is not a good thing...
But this is when I found the time. And I do apologize for lacking on my promise of daily updates. Far too much is happening in life.
Also... Yudhishthir is mad..... He'll be furious.
Well.. Saag isn't too wrong either... But this concerns their son. He should have known.
Anyways, tell me how it was.
Much love
