12.) Summer Camp (Part 2 of 3)

The first to wake is Aizawa. He's awakened by the vibrating of his phone in his sleeping bag. He shuffles around trying to find his phone in the pit of his sleeping bag. He eventually finds it and turns off the 5am alarm. The tired pro stretches his limbs and shuffles out of his sleeping bag. "Vlad." He moves over to Vlad and shakes him. "I'm getting the students."

Vlad yawns, voice deeper with more growl to it when he speaks. "I'll get... up laterr... and bring my classsss... out..."

Aizawa rolls his eyes and moves over to Hibiki. "Noizu."

She doesn't move but makes a cute little grunt-like noise. He takes in her sleepy appearance before deciding against waking her up and leaves the room. She is a top pro hero after all. That'd make him exhausted too.

The soft shutting of the door wakes Hibiki up, knowing it couldn't be opened from the outside. She yawns, stretches, and makes her way out of the sleeping bag. "Aizawa?" She looks to find his sleeping bag empty. She groans. "He really needs to man up and wake me up," she complains to herself. She looks to the snoring Vlad and tilts her head. She decides to leave him be and looks at her nephew also sound asleep. She leaves the two be and follows the sound of Aizawa's footsteps which leads to the students' rooms. "You know, you should really start waking me up."

Aizawa flinches, not hearing her coming. "You looked too peaceful."

"Ya big softy."

He rolls his eyes. "Mind helping me wake up the boys?"

She smirks. "Sure." She walks to the boy's room, sliding open the door and readying her quirk. "WAKE UP! TIME TO TRAIN!!!"

All the boys in the room scream and scramble awake.

Aizawa gives her an amused grin. "You know me too well."

She boops him on the nose with her finger before heading off to the girl's room and doing the same thing.

The two gather everyone outside at 5:30.

"Good morning, class," Aizawa greets.

"Good morning!" Hibiki chirps.

"Today we begin a training camp that will increase your strength," Aizawa says.

"Our goal for all of you is to increase your skills quickly, so you can get your provisional license," Hibiki says.

"This will allow you to face the dangers that continue to fester in the darkness," Aizawa says. "Proceed carefully." He pulls the baseball from their first day out of his pocket. "Look alive Bakugo." He tosses the ball to the boy who catches it with ease. "Try throwing that for me."

"Yeah, sure, like in the fitness test," Bakugo says.

"That's right," Aizawa mumbles. "When you first started school your score was 705.2 meters. Let's see if you've improved."

Bakugo moves off a bit.

"Oh, I get it! You're checking our progress!" Mina exclaims.

"Lots happened to us in the last three months maybe he can throw it a whole mile now!" Sero comments.

"Come on! Get it, Bakugo!" Kirishima cheers.

Bakugo winds up his throwing arm then smirks. "I've got this," he growls. "No one blink!" He moves his arm back to throw. "Go to hell!" He throws it off with an explosion.

The ball soars through the air. Bakugo steadies himself with a proud smirk.

"That was 709.6 meters," Aizawa deadpans.

Bakugo's eyes widen.

"That's it?" Sero mutters. "Kinda disappointing..."

"You've had a single semester at UA, due to your various experiences, most of you have definitely improved, but improvements have mostly been limited to mental prowess and technical skill with a slight increase in stamina thrown in along the way. As you can see your quirks themselves have not improved much on a fundamental level."

"That's why we're now going to focus on improving your powers!" Hibiki grins happily.

"This'll be so hard it'll feel like you're dying. Let's all hope you survive." He grins evilly.

The long day passes and the students get a bit upset over having to cook dinner until Iida motivates them enough to cook the curry. Hibiki decided to cook for the adults, and Ren, since she didn't help yesterday.

Ren and Kota became fast friends since neither of them wanted to be around the students, one because he was shy and the other because he hated heroes. They ended up hanging around each other and doing things around the forest together. Ren said that Kota had a secret hideout they would continuously go to.

That's where Hibiki figured they were going now as she watched them walk off into the woods.

She wasn't worried about wild animals attacking them. If that happened, Ren would be able to take care of it before it even approached them. Ren has his mother's quirk. He can sprout plants from anywhere. At this camp, he's completely surrounded by plants as if he belongs. With a thought, he can get rid of anything he wants. Of course, he will when he trains more. At the moment, it's powerful and outta control determined by his emotions.

The female pro clones herself to drop her dishes off into the bin with the rest of the dishes then to watch over the students, while the real one heads up to sit on the cliff Sero was training on earlier. She moves to sit on the edge, dangling her feet off the side as she leans back onto her hands and gazes at the stars. She closes her eyes and drawls in a deep calming breath.

"This is so peaceful it almost feels undeserving." She continues to look at the stars.

She lets her senses block fall away to listen to the many sounds of the forest. Most of the time Hibiki blocks out unnecessary sounds and things around her, so she doesn't overwhelm her senses. It took a long time to train her quirk to do that, but it was well worth it. She used to constantly have to wear earplugs before she could block it. Constant headaches with the occasional sensory overload were fairly common.

"There you are."

~~~
Aizawa comes back from the bathroom, moving back to sit down at the teacher's table beside Hibiki.
"Thanks for cooking. It was delicious as usual," he tells Hibiki.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was something I could do since I was asleep for most of yesterday."
He studies her for a few seconds. "Hmm."
"Is something wrong?" She owlishly blinks at him.
"You're not the real Noizu."
She blinks and grins. "I'm impressed. How could you tell that?"
He looks away. "I wouldn't be a very good pro if I couldn't tell, would I?"
"Even Endeavor can't guess correctly."
"He's not exactly a model example."
She laughs. "True! Well, All Might can't either."
"He isn't a very good example either."
"Yeah, Yagi-san is kinda dimwitted sometimes."
"Sometimes?"
"Don't be mean now."
"Which emotion are you?"
"I'm a mix," she says then explains a bit at seeing his slightly confused expression. "I'm able to put more than one emotion in a clone. I currently have a mix of 20, love, compassion, stern, crazy, nice, protective, watchful, among other teacher-like ones. If something happens, I'll be able to clone out each of these emotions. So you don't have to worry."
"Sounds good." He stands up, brushing off the back of his pants from the seat. "Where is the real you?"
"She's up on that cliff over there, gazing at the stars." She points to the tall cliff.
"Echo! Can ya help over here with the dishes?!" Pixie Bob calls out.
"Sure," she responds, cloning a few out to help carry dishes to the kitchen.
Aizawa watches her help then looks in the direction of the cliff. He huffs, putting his hands in his pockets, and makes his way to the real Hibiki. "There you are."
"Hey, stranger," she responds. "You need me for something?"
"No, just..." he cuts himself off. Why did I come here? Just what? Just wanted to see her? I can't say that. He mentally sighs. What's wrong with me...? "Are... you okay?"
She smiles, patting the space beside her to her right. "I'm fine. I just wanted to see the stars."
He sits down beside her, glancing up at the stars. "There's definitely a lot of them here."
"Yeah, you can never see them in the city, and they're so beautiful here. It's so peaceful and relaxing here. It's a nice change of pace from taking down villains in a concrete jungle. Aren't they beautiful?"
His gaze moves to her face, watching as her gaze is set on the stars. The occasional breeze would blow, making her silver hair toss and turn behind her. "...Yeah." His gaze continues on her, taking in every feature of her face. Her hypnotizing yellow-green eyes, to the slight natural pout of her lips, to her glowing pale skin, to the curve of her button nose. Stop, you're being creepy Shota. But why is she so entrancing to look at? Nemuri was right, she really does look like a perfect angelic doll.
"I wish that cool breeze would've been out during the day," she sighs. She stretches and returns her hearing to normal. "Well, I guess we should go wash up. I'm sure I smell awfu–" She suddenly stops, her eyes widening. "I hear people other than our own on a cliff in the distance."
"We should go talk to the Pussycats first before we investigate," Aizawa says, breaking out of his trance. "We don't want to scare anyone."
She nods, and they begin to make their way back to base camp. "They don't seem to be moving from that area, but I don't know what they're saying."
"How many are there?"
"Mmm, 6 or 7."
They quickly find the closest Pussycat, Mandalay.
"Do people camp here?" Aizawa asks.
"Oh, yeah, this may be a private area, but people come here to camp all the time," Mandalay says. "We get a lot of hitchhikers and travelers coming through here for a night or two before moving on. We even get many groups of high school students camping out for the summer. Why?"
"I heard a group of people a bit of a distance from here," Hibiki says.
"Yeah, it's likely a group of high schoolers."
"We'll do a patrol still, if you feel like it," Aizawa suggests.
"I think that'd be a good idea," Hibiki nods. "I'll send some clones over there to patrol before heading to sleep."
"That's fine with me," Aizawa says.
"I'm gonna go and inform the others," she says, walking off and communicating to all the other teachers with her quirk.
"Thank you for trusting me," Hibiki says, giving Aizawa a smile.
"I have no reason not to," he replies. "You've proved countless times that you're to be trusted. Along with meeting everyone around you. It's obvious you have no ill intentions. It's a reason why I entrusted you to come with us here."
Her face turns a bit rosy. "I-I'm glad!" she says a bit louder than normal, making her even more flustered.
Aizawa chuckles at her flustered state. "Cute."
She looks at him a bit shocked only to see him walking off. "Wha..."
"It's time for me to go help with the remedial classes. I'll meet up with you later if you're still up by then."
She doesn't respond as her whole face turns into a tomato, neck, ears, and all. She covers her face with her hands, letting out a quiet squeak.
Aizawa smirks as he turns the corner, watching her reaction with amusement. She's not good with compliments. She's gonna be fun to tease.
Hibiki takes a few deep breaths to calm herself down. "Oh, this is not good for me... I'm not used to being called cute by anyone except my family and even then it's still embarrassing! This school is going to be the death of me."
"Oba!"
Hibiki turns to see Hide calling out to her down the opposite way Aizawa left. Walking tiredly beside him is Ren. Both are cleaned and dressed in their pajamas.
"You worked really hard today," she says, walking over and picking up Ren. He slumps against her shoulder. "Your quirk has come a long way. Get some rest."
"Thanks, oba," Hide yawns, leaning down to give her a hug.
She kisses his forehead, returning the hug with her free arm. "Goodnight, Hide."
"Night obaaa," he yawns again with a smile before shuffling off to the boy's room.
She heads off to the teacher's room, setting Ren on the futon and tucking him in. "Goodnight, Ren."
"Niigh, oba..." he murmurs, snuggling down into the pillow.
She kisses his forehead before leaving the room, quietly shutting the door behind her. She walks to the boy's room to make sure they're all there and sleeping, heading off to the girls to do the same thing. After reassuring herself they're all accounted for, except for the remedial students, she returns to the teacher's room to get her things to shower. The heroine lets herself soak until she hears Aizawa and Vlad enter the men's side of the hot springs.
She listens as the two wash off then climb into the hot springs.
Aizawa releases a relaxed but agitated sigh. "I don't know what I'm going to do with those four. Sato doesn't count. He can typically handle himself."
"I don't know how I'm going to get Monoma to stop being so... crazy," Vlad adds. "That kid is too intense for no reason."
Hibiki chuckles a bit, agreeing with them. She sighs, looking at her fingertips to find them wrinkled. "Time to get out."
After getting dried off and dressed, she clones out 20 clones and sends them off into the forest in pairs in full Echo suit.
Happy and Angry begin to head in the direction of the small group. The two keep their distance just silently watching and listening.
Seven people are gathered around a fire, eating. None of them talk to each other as they eat rice. Nothing else just rice. A black-haired man with awful purple scarring covering most of his skin, a messy double-bunned blonde girl, a large man in a black cloak, a lizard man with purple hair, another that may be an ugly girl or a boy with big lips, another that's completely wrapped with only his mouth showing, and the final person is an average looking brunette haired boy.
The blonde girl groans loudly. "I'm sick of rice! I want sushi!"
"Get over yourself," the scarred man replies. "We're out in the woods. It's not like we could carry much food with us. After we finish this job, you can go eat whatever you want. That is if you don't get caught."
Echo mentally sighs. "Dammit." The two jump down, making most of them flinch.
"Don't get caught doing what exactly?" Angry asks.
Scarred man narrows his eyes. "Who are you?"
"I should be asking you that question," Angry replies. "This is private property, so you shouldn't be here."
"Dabs, that's Echo, the number six hero!" blondie whispers to him.
"Ah, that's right. Thought I recognized you. Big fan."
"Same here!" blondie squeals. "You're a symbol and role model to all girls out there!"
"Thank you."
"I wish I can be like you one day! Well known! Name striking everyone who hears it!" Her face seems to flush in excitement.
"Why are all of you out here?" Happy asks.
"College friends just camping," scarred answers.
"MMhmm," Angry hums, walking around and looking at everyone closely.
"What are you doing out here, number six?" big lips asks.
"Hero duties, it's confidential," Happy replies.
"Then you should probably get back to it," the big man in the cloak growls.
"You never answered my question," Angry asks. "What do you mean by don't get caught?"
"We're planning a surprise for our professor and don't wanna get caught before we can surprise him," scarred says. "We're going to meet up with him here tomorrow."
"Well, I hope you don't cause any trouble," Happy says. "Angry, let's go."
Angry grunts, following Happy. "Cause any trouble, and I'll beat the crap out of all of you."
"Angry!"
"Yeah, yeah," Angry replies as they vanish into the darkness of the forest.
They all watch the place she disappears, waiting to see if she'll come back. Everyone remains silent for a good ten minutes before speaking.
"I'm impressed you came up with that lie so quickly," Mustard says quietly.
"Gotta know how to lie on the spot," Dabi replies. "This isn't good. She's onto us, and I'm sure she's already told the other heroes. We're going to need to be even more careful now. Can't be making any careless mistakes. Looking at you, ya giant bastard." He looks up at Muscular. "Same to you crazy bastard." He looks to Moonfish.
"How about you shut your damn mouth before I rip it off," Muscular threatens.
Dabi rolls his eyes, unaffected by his threat. "Looks like we need to compensate for her. She's able to clone herself. I don't know if her clones are limitless or not, but we're going to have to work around her. Twice is gonna have his work cut out for him."
~~~

The real Hibiki groans as she runs her fingers through Ren's hair as he sleeps in the futon. She sits in her sleeping bag, waiting for Vlad and Aizawa to return from bathing and taking info in from each of her clones. She has no doubt that the group is part of the League.

"This isn't good."

Aizawa and Vlad finally enter the room.

"Noizu, you look worried," Vlad comments.

"Is it obvious?" she chuckles. "I sent two clones to investigate the group of people. I'm led to believe they are definitely somehow part of the League. They're too odd of a group to be a group of friends. They're waiting on more people, so I assume they're going to attack tomorrow. I'll keep a circle of clones covering the area tomorrow."

"Do you know what their goal is?" Aizawa asks, sitting down at the table at the side of the room.

Vlad and Hibiki move to follow him. Hibiki grabs her brush and begins to work on Aizawa's hair, standing behind him.

"I don't. Happy and Angry confronted them and gave the clones a bunch of lies. The group didn't speak all that much to each other."

Aizawa hums in content as Vlad watches the two in amusement. He still can't believe the man is letting her do his hair. He doesn't like anyone touching his hair... or touching him altogether. Her taking care of him must've made him trust and like her a lot.

"Did you recognize anyone?" Aizawa continues, closing his eyes.

"No, but then again, I don't really pay that much attention to who is a criminal. There's too many to know them all. I take down who I'm told to and who I see currently committing a crime." She begins to French braid Aizawa's hair after untangling it. "There was a large guy in a cloak, but he had a mask on. I couldn't see his face. There was another that had his whole body wrapped in black binds, but his mouth was the only showing part. I'm guessing that has something to do with his quirk."

"What'd the others look like?" Vlad asks, seeing as Aizawa is so content.

"A black-haired man with awful purple scarring covering most of his skin, a messy double-bunned blonde girl, a lizard man with purple hair, another with big lips most likely a trans man or woman couldn't really tell which, and the final person is an average looking light brunette haired boy. I didn't get any names. They made sure to not say any."

"We need to come up with a plan then," Vlad grunts.

"Then let's get to it," Aizawa says.

Hibiki takes a hairbow and wraps it around the end of his hair, finishing his braid. "We should also discuss how they knew we were gonna be here. Do we have a traitor or are they just that good at getting information?"
