Chapter 81) What To Do

Arriving to Pensacola, Florida, we greeted my parents with a hug and at this moment, we were both feeling at peace for the first time in forever.

"Hey ma!"

"Hey son!" She said with her smile that reached from ear-to-ear.

"Ashley and I have some incredible news to share with you and dad."

"What's the surprising news?" My father asked.

"Seth was finally thrown into prison after everything he's done to both Ashley and I. It was never-ending and he was always going around and traumatizing her with every chance he had. He's finally gone for seven whole years!"

"That's amazing news that he's finally put away! I'm so sorry that you both went through so much with that cold-hearted bastard." My father replied. "He'll get what's coming to him in prison, that's for sure."

"I'm just blessed that I can finally live my life with Ashley. The one thing that gets underneath my skin is that I may have to deal with my boss and his crew trying to fire me because of us putting Seth in prison for the things he said and his actions, too."

"I wouldn't let them fire you son."

"They have authority over Ashley and I because we're employed. Ashley hasn't been able to compete inside of the ring ever since her coma, and it's because of them."

"That's not fair." My mother said. "I hope for the betterment of you and Ashley that they don't do anything. You both done the right thing and sent Seth to prison."

"I know we did the right thing mom." I sighed. "What's going to happen if Seth tells Hunter and Stephanie and then I possibly get fired? Hell, I can't even trust Vince at this point either."

"What did he do, son?" Dad asked.

"Remember when Ashley was in that coma that almost lasted for a month?"

He and my mother nodded.

"Vince forced me to work for interviews with Byron about Brock and Paul and I was feeling devastated. I looked as if I haven't slept in weeks and I was mentally and physically drained. I explained to Vince that she needed me at the time and he forced me to still come to work. Because of that, I had to have either Ambrose or Ziggler take care of her while I was out because of him. Either that, or they would've fired me from the spot and replaced me with somebody else. Maybe Bryan."

"I understand son. What I don't understand is why he's doing you and your girlfriend like that. It doesn't make any sense for him to do those things."

I shook my head, "Neither do I."

"Want me to have a word with Vince?"

"No thanks."

"Alright, alright." He said with a sigh. "I want you to do good things and I won't let him take away your opportunities in that business. You're part of a huge Samoan bloodline and you have so much more to accomplish."

"I know." I replied. "I just want to accomplish so much within the WWE, and I feel like they're going to take that away from me, along with causing issues with Ashley in the process."

"I don't think that they would do anything because you're one of their biggest superstars, despite the hatred they have towards you. Losing you would have them lose out on millions." Ashley said.

"That is true."

"Don't worry about that right now. We're in your hometown and with your family. Let's enjoy the moments that we have before we have to deal with the authority." She replied.

"Alright."

"What is it that you two would love to do today?" My father asked.

"I don't know." I paused, "What about we invite my cousins over tomorrow and the rest of the family for a small family cookout? Maybe Ashley can get to know the rest of my family that way."

"That sounds perfect! I'll call up Jimmy and Jey along with everyone else!" My mother said enthusiastically.

"Hey Ashley. I want to speak to my son alone about something personal." My father said.

"Okay! I'm going to hang out with Mrs. Anoa'i for awhile."

Ashley walked out of the room to spend time with my mother while my father escorted me outside of the house near our huge outdoor pool.

"Son. I have an important question to ask of you."

"Shoot." I replied.

"Have you thought of proposing to Ashley lately? She sounds like she's the right woman for you, my son."

"Honestly, yes." I grinned, "That's kind of what I wanted to talk with you about."

"When do you plan on asking her to marry you?" He asked.

"I don't know." I lied. "Maybe when the time is right."

Little did he know, I planned on asking Ashley to marry me at WrestleMania in front of everyone.

"I respect that, son. I know you and Ashley belong together by the way you two treat each other and how you took care of her during her months coma. I'm so proud of you and for the man you've become."

"Thanks, dad."

We walked back inside and sat down on the couch while we waited for my mother and Ashley to return.

Knowing that it wasn't long until I was about to pop the question had me apprehensive. I loved Ashley so much, but I also didn't want her to feel as if I was rushing things between us.

With the whole ordeal with the authority, I was concerned about how they'd react upon seeing my proposal towards Ashley after my match at WrestleMania. The authority shouldn't overcome the love between two people; that's absurd!

However, there was a huge part of me that wanted to propose, not giving a second thought about what Hunter, Stephanie, or even Seth would think. If there was one thing that I was more determined to do other than reclaiming my WWE World Heavyweight Championship, it was proposing to the woman that I fell in love with in this business.

In the meantime, I couldn't wait for Ashley to meet the rest of my family. This is just one step towards the future and I couldn't be anymore excited.
