Chapter 30) Triggering Flashbacks
I was asleep on the couch and I accidentally left the television on. I began dreaming very vividly of Seth and how we were children at the time back in school. It felt like I was reliving my childhood all over again, starting off from the second grade when I was being bullied by a group of children out of nowhere during the middle of recess. Then I watched as Seth quickly came to my aid and became my friend shortly after.
Flashback - Second Grade
"Look at how ugly Ashley is, everyone!" Said one of the bullies, "Wrestling is for losers!"
"Leave me alone!" I shouted.
"Nobody likes you!" I was shoved to the ground while holding back my tears, hearing the sound of laughter from the children all around me.
"Get away from her!" I heard someone say from a distance.
The bullies ran away and prepared for class after recess. I sat down on the ground and continued crying until a random stranger approached me with his hand out.
"Hey, are you feeling alright?" The stranger asked.
"Yeah. I'm okay."
"My name is Seth Rollins."
"I'm Ashley Kay. Nice to meet you."
"Here, let me help you up."
Seth helped me up from the ground and he shown a look of concern on his face. "Do you want me to walk you to class?" He asked.
"Sure." I replied, "I'd love that."
"I'm really sorry about these bullies, Ashley. I couldn't imagine what you're going through; and I wanted to know if I could be your friend. Everyone deserves to have a friend in this world."
"I'd love to be your friend. Thank you!"
"You're welcome." Seth said as he walked me to class, "Well, here we are!"
I hugged him and said my goodbyes whilst walking into the class with a smile on my face. For the first time, I just made a friend who defended me from the bullies.
During lunch, Seth sat next to me with a smile on his face as he took out a WCW magazine that featured the Ultimate Warrior on the cover.
"You like wrestling too?" I asked.
"Yeah! I love watching wrestling all the time. My favorites are The Ultimate Warrior and George The Animal Steele!"
"I love Ultimate Warrior!" I shouted.
"It's great to have a friend who loves the same thing as I do. I'm glad we met, Ashley." Seth said.
"I'm really glad that we met, too. Thank you for helping me with those nasty bullies."
"Anytime. I cannot stand to see someone be bullied." He said.
I was confused. Why was I having dreams of my childhood and how it involved Seth? It reminded me of how nice he used to be towards me back when we were children. Now, he's a terrible person who allowed fame to change him into someone else; along with the authority giving him the power to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase in his hands.
While I kept having this vivid dream, it slowly became into a nightmare that I never wanted to remember. A time that brought me into a deep depression.
Flashback - Ring of Honor - February 13, 2010
"Here is your winner and the New Ring of Honor Champion, Tyler Black!"
Everyone applauded and praised Seth for his victory while I stood backstage. I was excited for him. He's been working for the championship ever since we began wrestling together back in the indie scene.

When Seth defeated Austin Aries for the Ring of Honor Championship, I was thrilled to see how happy he was.
"Congratulations, Seth! I'm so happy for you!" I said.
He rolled his eyes when I went in for a warm embrace. Seth started to gently push me away, "Uh yeah, thanks."
"What did I do?" I began to ask myself while he walked over to talk to everyone else around him.
As the days grew cold without having Seth as my best friend, he started hanging out with other people and neglecting me in the process. I became distant from him and began talking to the other wrestlers such as Kevin Steen and Cesaro at the time. Two other wrestlers that I've seen in the WWE.
Seth suddenly grew the cold shoulder on me; ignored me and pretended like I never existed once he won the Ring of Honor Championship. He was the only person that I once considered a close friend of mine at the time, and from what I remembered, he and his two friends, started bullying me in the company after he said early in our childhood that he couldn't stand seeing someone being bullied.
"Hey, Ashley." He cackled. "Look what I've achieved when you haven't even earned a title yet!"
After being teased by him and his new friends, I started to shut myself off from the world and refused to talk to anyone for weeks. I eventually took a small hiatus from Ring of Honor at the time after seeing the one person who was my best friend for years abandon me for fame, fortune, and titles.
I finally awoken from the nightmare with tears falling down my face as I heard knocking on the door.
"Hello? Ashley?"
A sudden voice emerged from behind the door.
"Hold on!" I said, walking towards the door.
I opened it and it was Dolph Ziggler, his smile faded when he noticed that I've been crying.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He questioned me.
"Nothing, Dolph."
"Ashley, you can tell me anything. Come on."
I sighed, "There's two reasons."
He nodded and sat me down on the couch.
"First, it's because of Roman being behind bars and I miss him. Even though I visited him earlier today. The second reason is because I had a vividly nightmare that revolved around my childhood with Seth. How we became best friends as children, wrestled in Ring of Honor and the moment he won the championship, he neglected me for other people. I'm not sure why I had a nightmare about it, Dolph."
"Take it easy, Ashley." Dolph said, "I'm surprised that you two were childhood best friends. He's such an idiot because he abandoned the one person that supported him. He'll have what's coming to him."
"I'm trying to."
"On a positive note, I feel like Roman might be able to get out of jail soon before Monday. I'm hoping that he does because it made me upset to see you heartbroken on Thursday. All he was doing was protecting you from that arrogant asshole."
"I'll admit, it was tough on me. I'm also confused about Dean and Renee's whereabouts. I was just watching something on the television and I fell asleep. But suddenly, I began dreaming of the flashbacks." I sighed, "Why?"
"Maybe you're just upset with Seth and how he's treating your relationship with Roman. And you're traumatized from everything that happened many years ago. I'm no therapist, but I think it's because of Seth and how he's triggering all of these traumatic experiences."
"Probably."
"Alright." He stood up from the couch. "I was just coming to check on you, Ashley. If you need anything, I have your back. That'll never change, okay?"
"Thank you, Dolph."
I watched Dolph leave the room and I decided to call Dean and Renee to check on them for the second time. Their phones weren't allowing me to call them. I felt like they had their phones turned off and I started to grow suspicious. What were those two up to?
