Recommended Song: Goodbye - Apparat

Jungkook sits on the park bench, holding a burner phone in his hand. He has a pistol in his other hand, but the dark, cloudy sky hides it. He stares at the trees ahead, blinking slowly while deep in his thoughts. Ever since that day at the factory, he's been different. He saw Jimin and Y/n in a different light. A scarily familiar light.

He averts his eyes to the ground, shaking his head ever so slightly. It's now or never. Just send the text. He still has Mr. Min's phone from that one day that feels like years ago. So he took Y/n's number and put it into his burner phone. All that's left is sending the text. One text. That's it.

After a few minutes of contemplating his decisions, he finally listens to his thoughts and pulls out his phone. He flips it open, only using one hand to type. His thumb hurts from going so slow and hard, but he doesn't even care right now. Soon enough, everything will be over.

The text is written out in only a minute. Jungkook doesn't even spellcheck it: he sends it. As soon as the text is successfully sent, he waits a full minute. One minute, then he sees it was read. As soon as he sees that he breaks the phone, tossing the two pieces away. This is it. The day everything changes for him. Jungkook lets out a shaky breath. After today, Mr. Jeon will be no more.

~~~
You walk into the park, looking at the text one more time. Coordinates and a request to come alone. Armed if needed. Of course you took that offer and brought your pistol. Jimin hated the idea of you going alone, but deep down, you think it'll all be okay.
The dark sky covers your face as you approach the unpopulated area. It's in the back of the park, covered by countless gigantic trees with thick leaves blowing in the gentle breeze. There's a single bench under a broken light, the sidewalk leading down to it cracked, moss covering it.
You step forward, seeing one figure on the bench. As soon as you see Mr. Jeon there, you draw your pistol. You want to shoot, to end everything here, but you hesitate. He called you here for a reason. If you just kill him, you'll never know that reason. Not to mention you're tired of it. All the killing. All it does is cause more and more hurt.
"When I first started dating Taehyung, he told me that this part of the park has always been this way. Broken... abandoned." Jungkook dryly chuckles, looking at the ground. "Funny how just now I realized he didn't mean that in a bad way."
You approach, keeping your pistol trained on him. He slowly peers up at you, giving you tear-filled eyes. Neither of you speak for a minute. He's staring at you, you staring back with jagged breathing and bloodshot eyes.
"I've wanted to kill you for months. Months," he whispers, holding a pistol up but being careful not to point it at you.
You watch every motion closely, your breathing going to a halt for a moment. He unclicks the magazine from the chamber, letting it fall uselessly to the ground. Confusion fills your face as he tosses the now-unloaded gun away.
"And now I can barely look into your eyes without seeing myself."
He scoffs, gazing at the ground again. You lower your pistol for a brief second, your eyes softening.
"I didn't realize how much I hated my life, my world, until Tae showed up. I explored a world I never had all because of him." He takes a moment, breathing softly. "Sometimes he feels like a dream. Sometimes my world feels like a dream."
Again, silence. You don't bother saying anything. After all the evil you've done, the least you can do is let him monologue in peace.
"This whole time I didn't want revenge. I wanted another escape. I wanted you to feel my pain. I wanted a reason to look past my world for one minute." Jungkook lets his tears fall as he leans back against the bench. "This whole time I was never mad at you. Funny how it took me so long to realize that, huh? I don't want to lead my mafia anymore. As the leader, maybe I can get out. If you want it, I'll let you and Jimin lead."
Your shock shows in your eyes seeing as he shakes you off.
"I know you're probably wondering why I'd do that for you. It's to maybe make up for killing Mr. Min. For my assistant killing your dog. For me killing Mr. Kim. I can never apologize enough for that. I know I don't deserve forgiveness." He pauses. "Speaking of forgiveness."
Jungkook keeps his eyes on you, breathing heavily. "I know you're not asking for forgiveness, and I don't blame you for that. But if you were, or if you ever wanted it, I'd give it to you." You stand directly across from him, raising your pistol to eye level, aiming right for his forehead.
He sighs. "Thank you for showing me what I really needed. Thanks to you and Tae, I can finally rest." To your surprise - he smiles. "Mr. Jeon is gone. All that's left is me."
You heave, your finger shaking over the trigger. Jungkook closes his eyes, keeping his smile.
You stare, unsure of what to think. A full minute passes as he waits for his demise by your hand. This whole time he hasn't budged or lost his smile. So, you sniffle and let your tears fall. Yoongi, Mr. Kim, Ryland: they all flash in your mind. All dead because of the man in front of you. Jimin almost died because of him. You almost died because of him. You almost lost everything because of Mr. Jeon.
But you deserved it. How many Taehyungs have you taken from their Jungkooks? How many have suffered because of your evil deeds? Everything you got, you earned, and that helps you make your decision.
The pistol you were holding falls to the ground, the clattering sound it makes echoing down the area. Jungkook opens his eyes as you peer at him, too tired to give him any sign of the emotions you're feeling. He gives you a confused look, opening his mouth to speak, but no words come out.
"Goodbye, Jungkook," you whisper.
And just like that, you walk away.
