You look at the new man who came to rescue you and give him raised brows. "Jimin's here?"

"He's outside and safe. Same with your dogs," Jackson Wang explains, cutting your bindings off of you.

"Do you know where Mr. Jeon went?" you ask.

"From what I gathered, he was with you up until he got the call that Jimin was missing. We need to move. Can you stand?"

Although you want to question the fuck out of him and see what he knows, that's probably not the smart play here. This could be your only chance at escaping.

"I'll try. Any clue how long I was out for?"

"They've been keeping you sedated, so I'm guessing a little over a day," Jackson says, helping you up. "I hope you're a good shot."

You groan at the feeling shooting up and down your body. Pins and needles form in your arms and legs as you stand. Jackson holds you steady, which is a blow to your confidence, but you know you have no choice but to try to have strength right now.

"You know I'm one of the best assassins in the state, right? I'd like to think that even blind I'd be a good shot."

Jackson chuckles, handing a pistol to you. "Prove it."

You take it. "Thank you. You said you work for Mr. Kim?"

"Before he passed, yes."

So he really is dead. But you don't have time to mourn.

"Then let's go. Jungkook will be here any minute," you mutter.

Jackson helps you out of Mr. Jeon's office, not bothering to close the door behind him. You're mostly walking on your own now albeit with a limp. It's painful, but you'll pull through. For Jimin.

"This way," Jackson whispers as he goes down the next hall.

You follow at a decent pace and click the safety off to the pistol as you hear shouting and gunshots getting closer.

"We have to pass through the main area to get to Jimin, there's a whole ass war going on down there. I barely got past it," Jackson says, motioning to the door dead ahead.

But before you can move, a gunshot pierces through the door that narrowly misses you and Jackson.

"Shit!" you yell, and Jackson reacts in a heartbeat by bursting through the heavy doors.

As soon as you enter behind him, you eyes almost bulge out of your head. The dim lighting does little to hide the corpses. There's blood everywhere, and shouts and gunshots make up the soundscape of the arena.

Jackson wasn't kidding: it's a whole war.

You use all your strength to duck to the ground, hissing as you bring your pistol against your chest. Jackson dives as well, but he's not as lucky. He gets hit in the shoulder, groaning as he goes down. You manage to press yourself up against a machine in the abandoned factory right as bullets bounce off the metal.

"Sneak around! I'll cover you!" Jackson yells to you.

"What about you?"

"Don't worry about me! Go to Jimin!"

Although you don't want to leave your savior, especially when he's injured, you nod. You crawl away and notice a door on the right side. Maybe it'll lead to a back hall.

You go inside before anyone notices, softly shutting the door behind you. With a huff, you holster your pistol in your waistband and sneak down the dark corridor. It's pitch black, so you're navigating in the darkness right now.

Get outside, that's the plan. Get outside and find Jimin.

Easier said than done.

You manage to turn down a corner before you hear a door opening, and a bit of light from the other room rushes down the hall. A silhouette of a tall man is in the light, but the door quickly closes, shutting you off from him.

"I know you're in here, Miss L/n," Mr. Jeon's voice says.

Stuck in a pitch black corridor with Mr. Jeon. What could go wrong? He only wants to kill you in thirty-seven different ways. No big deal.

Regardless of your thoughts, you quietly creep further down the hall.

"You can't escape this. I won't let you."

You choose to stay quiet as you get closer to another corner. You turn down it just as Mr. Jeon turns down the row you were just in.

That was close. Too close.

"Come out. I won't hurt you."

Yeah right. As if you're believing that.

"Let's just talk about this, okay?" Jungkook says, but you ignore him to instead take a risk. You stand and start dashing toward the back door.

As soon as you run, more footsteps are heard pounding into the metal ground. You grit your teeth as you sprint, hearing the familiar click of a safety being turned off not too far away.

Just as the first shot rings by your ear, you jump outside, slamming the door shut behind you. You pant but know this is no time to stall. Despite the searing pain in your knees from being under for over a day, you run some more. You turn the corner of the building in time to see a truck being loaded up with people. There's a group there, helping a man get in. More specifically, they're helping your man get in.

"Jimin!" you yell, running down the grassy hill.

He turns back, and his eyes widen upon spotting you. "Y/n!"

Instantly, two guards come running for you, but you know this doesn't end until Mr. Jeon is gone. Otherwise, more and more will die. It sounds contradictory to end violence with violence, but you're too lost to consider any other option right about now.

As soon as you reach the truck, you whip around and raise your pistol. He has to be chasing you, right?

"Mr. Jeon came after me. He's here," you say to the two next to you. Jimin is being placed in the backseat, but his eyes are still on you. You give him a soft look he returns before searching the dark terrain again. Nothing. No sign of Mr. Jeon.

"We're going back in for him. You'll have two people escort you back to the city. Back to your house, got it?" one of them says.

You nod. "You need to kill him. If you don't get him, this whole thing starts over again. This'll be for nothing if he lives."

They don't reply; they just start forward with their pistols raised.

You hop in the car next to Jimin, grabbing his hand while using your other one to shut the door. You're slightly surprised to see Gunner and Major in the trunk of the big truck, but you're not complaining.

"Drive," Jimin says. Right away, the engine starts. Just in time, too, seeing as the two left outside get shot in the head. Your eyes widen when you see Mr. Jeon walking out from the corner of the building, two men right beside him.

"Go! Faster!" you yell.

The car zooms off, the men not even bothering to shoot as you zip away. You watch their figures get smaller and smaller as you drive down the dirt road. Then, you turn to your boyfriend and break down.

"You're okay, you're okay," you mutter, bringing him into a hug.

He groans, nodding while shakily hugging you back. "I can't feel my body," he says, resting his head on your shoulder. You shush his soft cries of pain, closing your eyes while keeping him there.

Mr. Jeon failed at killing you again because of Mr. Kim. Even after death, he's still saving you. It's a good thing you did his favor then. You honored the man. And despite everything, despite Mr. Jeon still being alive, for some reason, it feels like everything is over. It feels like you're safe.

You pull back to look at Jimin, him giving you vulnerable eyes that say 'I'm so sorry'. "I love you," you whisper. He almost whimpers at the words, nodding rapidly before bringing you back into a hug.

And for the rest of the drive, you stay like that, in each other's embrace.
