RIVER

          Vi threw a punch to River which she quickly blocked before throwing a punch to Vi's face with her left hand which Vi blocked which led and opening to her stomach which River took and landed a punch to Vi's stomach. Vi knelt over and panted "you're a quick learner" she said with a proud look on her face.

River let a small smile play on her lips "thanks" "all right let's take a break" Vi told her, the two had been fighting for hours and Vi was honestly really impressed with how fast River could pick up things and improve from her mistakes.

Powder who had been at the gun range walked over to her "your aim is really good" River complimented, Powders eyes widened and she smiled "I didn't think you noticed me" Powder said, referring to the fact that she only had little breaks and seemed like she was focused on her fighting the whole time.

River shrugged her shoulders "you have to teach me, you didn't miss one shot" River said. She did really want Powder to help her "ooo yes!" Powder said excitedly and sat next to River who had been flexing and in-flexing her hand the whole time.

"are your hands ok" she asked in concern, River who had been zoned out quickly snapped back "hm? oh yeah there fine" she reassured. Powder cocked her head as she stared at River. She'd noticed that during her time living with them River zoned out a lot, Powder wasn't sure why though.

During the few weeks River had been there her and Powder had gotten really close quite fast, Vi was glad that Powder had River now. Vi felt bad for Powder when she would be gone for hours and had to leave Powder alone. But a lot of the time Powder and River would talk or draw or River would take Powder with her to go explore.

River leant against the wall as she sat silently, Powder next to her seeing that she was zone out again. Powder scooted closer to her and placed her hand on River's shoulder making her flinch slightly "are you ok?" Powder asked with knitted brows.

River forced a smile to her lips and nodded "yeah". That was a lie, River wasn't ok. She was exhausted because every night she would have a dream of memories she had with her brother and then it would turn into a nightmare if Rio screaming out to River, begging her to save him but she failed every time.

River decided to just stop sleeping and she would leave the last drop at midnight and run around the lanes until and then sneak back. But unknowing to River, Vander knew that she was leaving.

"come with me" Powder said with a smile as she grabbed Rivers hand and pulled her up. Powder took her to an abandoned building that wasn't far from the arcade, there was flickering fairy lights hanging from the roof, on the walls there was multiple little drawings done by Powder. Against the wall was a torn up couch with worn out blankets and pillows.

Near the middle of the room was a table with multiple pieces of metal with what looked to be bombs hanging from multiple places. River looked around in wonder "when i'm making my bombs Mylo likes to annoy me and mess me up and take pieces from me"

River listened intently "so when Vi found this place she showed it to me and helped me decorate it" Powder cheesed at River making her smile as well. "what types of bombs do you make?" River asked curiously as she walked around the room "i've been trying to make smoke bombs lately but they never work" Powder frowned.

River placed a hand on Powders shoulder, Powders looked up to her. Powder was eleven but she was quite short while River was twelve and pretty tall for her age. River liked to tease Powder about how she was taller because it annoyed Powder.

"they will work one day" River told her seriously and walked around again "you wanna know something random?" River looked at Powder over her shoulder, Powder skipped over to her "yess!" "my real name is Rivera-Star" River whispered like it was something she shouldn't of been saying but Powders face lit up.

"Rivera-Star" she repeated "that's so pretty! why didn't you tell me" Powder asked her earning a shrug "i've always hated my name, it's weird" River explained to her, Powder shook her head in disagreement "I love it" Powder smiled softly.

"Can I call you star?" Powder tilted her head, River smiled at her "you can call me whatever you want" River told her. Powder lit up in excitement and grabbed Rivers hand, tugging it "can you help me make bombs" Powder asked her with wide, excited eyes, River nodded her head and for some reason she felt the tips of her ears go red when Powder grabbed her hand.

For about two hours the two had been making smoke bombs, Powder would passionately explain to River how to do it, she would demonstrate then let River do it. Each time Powder would do a little clap say she was doing really good. The two had successfully made 4 smoke bombs.

red, pink, blue and green

"do you wanna see if it works?" Powder asked "of course" without warning powder pulled the pin out of one of them "wait!" River tried to stop her but was met with a large amount of pink powder exploding and covering her.

Powder coughed and waved the smoke away to see River standing there with an unimpressed look on her face, pink powder in her hair and on her face and clothes, same with Powder. Once Powder saw River she couldn't help but laugh which eventually made River laugh along with her.

"why would you do it in here!" River asked her as she tried to dust it off her clothes "it worked! it finally worked!" Powder jumped up and down in excitement with a wide grin. Powder jumped on River and hugged her tightly with her arms around her neck.

"I think you're my good luck charm!" Powder asked, River hugged her back with a laugh and leant her head on powders shoulder. Powder let her go when she heard the door open, revealing Vi who was smirking but then looked confused as to what happened.

They quickly separated and stood next to each other and stared at Vi "what happened?" Vi asked them. The two quickly pointing to each other to blame with wide eyes. Vi chuckled and shook her head "let's go back home" Vi left for the two to follow her.

As they began to follow her River gently pushed Powders shoulder and quickly walked faster, in front of Powder and acted as she didn't do anything. Powders jaw dropped before she ran up to River, jumping on her back catching River off guard and almost falling but quickly steadied herself.

River laughed "get offf" she jokingly complained.
