Sink or Swim

xv. sink or swim

Leo, Davenport, and Freya were still stuck in the elevator. Leo had managed to climb through the shaft and pull the emergency switch, which fixed the elevator. Tasha was outside the elevator, calling for them in hopes they respond or come out of the elevator soon.

"Leo? Freya? Donald? Can you hear me?" Tasha called. Freya could hear her now since the elevator was moving. Soon, the doors opened and Freya smiled at the sight. "Finally!"

"Tasha!" Freya smiled as she stepped out of the elevator and immediately hugged Tasha.

"Mom!" Leo said and hugged Tasha when Freya let go.

"I was so worried." Tasha told them.

"I'm so glad you're okay," Davenport sighed with relief, hugging his wife.

"How did you fix the elevator?" She asked.

"Well, it was incredibly difficult, but in the face of great adversity—"

"Freya helped me shimmy up the shaft and I flipped the emergency switch while he cried." Leo smiled heroically, pointing to Davenport.

"Lot of crying from him," Freya pointed to Davenport.

"I coached them. At least my sprinkler system put the fire out before it spread to the rest of the house." Davenport mentioned with relief.

"What about the lab?" Tasha asked.

——

The four are now standing in what used to be the lab. Now it's completely destroyed with nothing left. Freya stood there absolutely distraught and didn't know what to say or do.

Tasha noticed Freya and pulled her into a hug. She silently sobbed into her shoulder and Tasha rubbed her back.

"Everything will be okay," Tasha assured her.

"How do you know?" Freya asked.

"That's just something parents say," Tasha remarked. "I really don't know."

Freya pulled away from Tasha and wiped her eyes.

"It's worse than I thought." Davenport said with distraught, looking around at the disaster.

"The blast took out everything." Leo said.

"Nothing left." Freya sniffled, putting her hand in her pockets. Her eyes found where their capsules used to be and she sighed, lowering her head sadly.

"I can't believe your own brother would do this. He could have killed Leo and Freya." Tasha said with sorrow, putting her arms around the kids. Donald looks at her. "... And you."

Freya was too sad to make any jokes right now.

"My Mission Specialist desk. Okay, this just got real! I'm gonna hurt Douglas where he lives!" Leo threaten and backed track, thinking. "As soon as I find out where he lives."

Davenport stood by the rubble where their capsules were. "Look at their capsules. There's nothing left."

"Even Eddy's gone." Leo added. Freya let out the smallest grin, not upset about this.

"Yes!" Tasha silently cheered. Donald, Freya, and Leo look at her. She changed her emotion to fake sorrow. "Yes, he will be missed."

Freya shook her head at this, mumbling. "Not by me."

"He was my best friend." Davenport admitted, walking up to the destroyed screen where she usually was.

"I thought I was your best friend." Tasha replied.

Davenport shook his head. "No, it was him."

"What are we gonna do?" Freya asked him, leaning into Leo' side.

"There's nothing much we can do. The house isn't even ours anymore." Davenport shrugged, feeling hopeless.

"Speaking of which, the bank wants us out. I'll go gather what's left of our stuff." Tasha walked out of the lab after that.

"All your hard work. Millions of dollars' worth of equipment. Gone." Leo mentioned, looking around.

"All of this stuff can be replaced. Adam, Bree, and Chase can't." Davenport told them and Frey nodded. "We have to find them before Douglas does."

"How? They disabled their GPS signals. They could be anywhere by now." Leo asked and Freya sighed, covering her mouth with her hand at the thought of the bionic teens in a dangerous situation at the moment.

——

Freya, Leo, and Davenport stood in the living room with almost all the luggage. Freya was going to offer her place for them to stay, but she knows her mom and sister will question what happened and the secret will slip out.

All the furniture was gone. It was empty and sad.

Tasha came downstairs with more suitcases. "Almost ready. Just three more bags."

"Tasha, we're homeless. Do you really need all these clothes?" Davenport asked.

"These are yours." Tasha replied

"I cannot believe they're kicking us out. Where are we gonna go?" Leo asked.

"Look, there is a five star hotel downtown. We can stay there until they can prove my account was hacked." Davenport suggested.

"How? You got no money, no credit cards, nothing." Freya folded her arms, giving him a look.

Davenport shrugged. "Well, yeah. I just thought we'd tap into Leo's college fund." Tasha frowned at him and Leo's eyes grew. "Maybe Freya's too?"

"Like I'm going to college," Freya scoffed. "But I would offer my house for you all to stay at."

"That would be lovely," Tasha smiled.

"I was thinking that, but your mom and sister might find out about the bionic secret. Perry is bad enough. We can't have any more," Davenport explained and they nodded.

"That's what I was thinking." Freya agreed.

Someone knocks at door and Leo answers it. It was Principal Perry.

"Sup, Dooley?" Perry greeted and Freya groaned.

"Oh no!" Leo gasped and tries shutting the door, bur she pushed against it. Freya chuckled as Leo struggled to keep it closed.

Perry eventually pushed it open and walks in. Leo huffed. "Well, I see you did your squats today."

"And you didn't do any pushups," Freya grinned and Leo glared at her.

"That's the power of protein." Perry flexes. "I eat three whole chickens a day."

"Principal Perry, what do you want?" Tasha asked.

"Nothin' from you, Betty blue." Perry pointed at her and then walked up to Davenport. "I just came here to shake down old Donnie for my hush money. Keeping a bionic secret really takes it out of a gal." Perry reaches for Tasha's purse and Davenport takes it from her.

"And here I thought you were just winded from walking up the driveway." Davenport remarked. "Look, you know I'm broke."

"Well, then perhaps I'll have to find another way to get my money." Perry shrugged. "Maybe a tell-all book. How one adorkable principal saved America from three bionic freaks!"

"Not freaks." Freya muttered.

"Look, I will get you your hush money, but first, we need a place to live. And then we have to find Adam, Bree and Chase." Davenport explained.

Perry frowned. "Who?"

"The freaks." Leo told her.

Perry used her hand to imagine the three by going tall, short, and shorter. "Oh." She nodded. "So, you're telling me the sooner you find a place, the sooner I get my money?"

Leo nodded. "That's right, T.P. You help us out, we help you out. You wash our back, we–" Leo and Freya both cringed at this. "Ohhh!"

"Please don't put that imagine in my head." Freya groaned lightly.

Perry pondered for a bit. "Hmmm." She nodded. "All right, I'm in. You can stay at my place. As long as you don't mind sharing the john with eight cats and the occasional semi-pro bowler."

Freya's eyes grew at this. She was lucky she didn't have to do that. She has the comfort of her own bed.

"What if we stay at the school temporarily? Tasha suggested. "Like when you set up the shelter for people after the big storm last year."

Perry gasped. "Oh! So that's why everyone was bangin' on the door trying to get in!" Perry chuckled and then shrugged. "All right, you can stay at the school."

Davenport sighed. "Oh, good. Well, you wanna help us with our bags?"

My pleasure." Perry picks up a couple bags and walks out with them. They heard Perry get in her car and drive away.

"We're never gonna see those bags again, are we?" Davenport asked.

"Nope." Freya shook her head.

——

~School Cafeteria~

Perry lead Tasha, Davenport, and Freya into the cafeteria where Perry had set up three cots for them.

"Here you go, three cots." Perry said. "Monroe doesn't need one because she lives somewhere else. If you do by any chance, too bad you have a floor." Freya gave her a sarcastic grin. "Ah, this takes me back to the good ol' days in the prison infirmary."

"You were a nurse?" Tasha asked.

"No, I was in prison." Perry corrected and Freya nodded, understanding that. "Okay, you kids settle in. I'm gonna go try and find some less crusty blankets."

Freya sat on Leo's cot and got out her phone.

"Is there some place we can store our things?" Tasha asked.

"Sure. You can take the gym locker next to mine." Perry offered. "You might wanna wear slip-ons in the shower. I got something in between my toes that just won't quit." Perry walks away after they leaving the others in disgust.

Leo enters, wheeling an old computer on a cart.

"Good news, guys! I got some of this stuff from the computer lab. Maybe you can use it to track Adam, Bree and Chase's last GPS location." Leo suggested.

Freya stood up and looked at the old computer. She raised her eyebrow at him. "Is that all you can find?"

"Or, judging by its age, the last location of King Tut." Davenport sarcastically replied and then sighed, apologizing. "Sorry, Leo, I'm just frustrated. Without my stuff, without my lab, this is hopeless."

"Come on, Big D, you're a tech titan." Leo encouraged him. "You built an empire out of nothing."

"Yeah, but it was so hard." Davenport pouted, sitting on the cot.

Freya sat next to him. "But you did it. And if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. You're brilliant."

Davenport got up and Freya stood up with him. He smiled. "You know what? You're right, guys. I am handsome. And brilliant."

"Hold on, she didn't say–" Leo said.

"Let him have it." Freya cut him off.

"I'm back!" Davenport smiled and started to work on the computer.

——

Later that night, Freya and Leo ran back into the gym. They had snuck into Perry's office to try to use her internet, which they successfully did.

"Principal Perry was hogging the Internet in her office, so we snuck in, plugged in our wire instead." Freya told Davenport.

"Turns out she's a day trader for the Japanese stock market." Leo mentioned.

Davenport looked at the computer. "That did it. We are now able to pinpoint their precise location when they turned off their GPS." He looked at the kids. "You know, Leo and Freya, with my genius and your guys ability to follow wiring, we make a great team."

Davenport checked their last location. "Their last known location was at the port. They must have jumped on a ship."

Freya read the information. "It says there were three freighters that left around the same time. They must be on one of them."

"Douglas may already have a jump on us. We have to act fast." Davenport told them.

"But even if we know which freighter it is, how are we gonna get to it?" Leo asked.

Davenport looked around, before smiling and leaning in. "I have a secret. I have a helicopter I keep stashed away for special occasions, and nobody knows about it!" Davenport laughed, grabbing their arms.

Freya and Leo shared a sheepish grin..

"Freys and I have a secret too. We know. We use it on weekends." Leo informed him.

"I drive it." Freya chuckled and Davenport stood there in shock.

——

Davenport, Freya, and Leo were in the helicopter, flying over the ocean. Freya had hope she was going to find them. She couldn't wait to see them. She couldn't wait to kiss-

Hug Chase. She wants to hug Chase.

"Well, searching that first ship was a bust. This is gonna take us all night!" Freya groaned, getting impatient.

"Well, at least we got the radio." Davenport turned on radio.

Davenport's voice spoke on the radio. "You're listening to another Donald Davenport audio book, "How to Make a Billion Dollars".

"Oh, we need to turn this up. You could use a refresher." Leo suggested and Freya chuckled.

"Ah." Davenport smacked Leo hand away and Freya snickered. Davenport turned off the radio.

Freya's phone beeped. It was ChaseMs GPS signal. She smiled. "It's Chase's GPS signal! It's back on!"

"They turned on their GPS signals that means they're in trouble. Hang on, guys." Davenport flies helicopter down and Freya was smiling with relief.

She was going to see her best friend again.

Davenport flew them down and searched the area for a bit for another ship.

"We should be close." Davenport said after a few minutes of searching.

Freya looked at Chase's signal and then out the window to see a ship.

"I think I see it!" She pointed.

"That's gotta be it!" Davenport said and flew them toward the ship.

——

Freya, Davenport, and Leo had landed on the ship Adam, Bree, and Chase were on. However, they couldn't find them anyway. They were gone.

"I don't get it. How can they not be here?" Davenport asked as they walked out on the front deck. The captain of the ship was there, drying himself with a towel.

"Hey, we're looking for three kids: two guys and one girl. Have you seen them?" Leo asked him.

"Of course I've seen them. They just got on a chopper..." The captain told them and looks closer at Davenport. "With you."

Freya stood there with confusion. She frowned.

"With me?" Davenport asked and shared a look with Leo and Freya.

Oh no. Freya thought.

——

~The Next Morning~

Davenport, Freya, and Leo had arrived back at the Davenport house. Freya had already told her mother that she was staying over with the Davenport's last night, because they were out much later than they wanted to be. Freya didn't have to worry about her mother or anything, because she worry's a lot about her kids. Cassandra trusts Davenport and Tasha to take care of her daughter.

Tasha has texted them that they needed to come back to the house and not the school. This made Leo panic and vomit all over their neighbors house. Freya hates the sight and the smell and wanted to get off the helicopter as soon as she could.

Leo, Frey, and Davenport rush into the living room, greeting a distressed Tasha. Davenport immediately hugged her.

Leo was holding stomach, feeling nauseous. "Please don't text "Hurry home" when we're in a helicopter, I left my lunch all over the Rosenblatts' roof."

"I almost throw up too. It was gross," Freya gagged, moving away from Leo.

"So what happened? Where are the kids?" Tasha asked, not see the bionic kids.

Davenport sighed. "Douglas got to them before we did."

"Your brother, again?" Tasha asked. "Okay, you are done complaining about my mother."

"We have no idea where they are, but they're smart, they will figure out a way to escape..." Davenport assured her and Leo and Freya gave him a look. "Well, two of them will."

"I do have some good news. The FBI finished their investigation and proved you were cyber hacked." Tasha informed them and Leo and Freya cheered silently, hugging.

"So I'm getting all my money back?" Davenport asked, smiling with hope.

Tasha hesitantly replied. "No... All the money was stolen, you're still broke."

"But I'm getting all my stuff back, right?" Davenport asked her. "My boats, my cars, my planes?"

"Just the house." Tasha informed and his smile dropped. "But the good news is that now we can all move back in together!"

Tasha put her arms around Leo, who smiled widely and out his arms out. Freya gave two thumbs up, smiling.

"Not even like a jet-ski or a motorcycle with one wheel?" Davenport asked sorrowfully.

"So what are you going to do about the kids?" Tasha asked her husband.

"Well, they're not gonna come back here because they still don't think it's safe." Freya mentioned.

"I just wish there was some way we could get a message to them and let them know everything's alright." Leo remarked.

"Well the only thing I can do remotely is update Chase's software." Davenport told them and then had an idea. "Wait. Maybe that's it! Maybe I can embed a cyber message into the update. Leo, Freya, find us a computer!"

"Got it!" They said and looked around the empty house. Freya frowned and Leo stood there confused.

"He does know we are broke, right?" Leo's asked Freya.

"He's trying not to think about it," Freya replied. "I'll go grab mine from home."

Freya ran out the door to get her computer.

"Is there anything I can do?" Tasha asked.

"Tasha, now is not the time for jokes." Davenport told her and she gave him a look.

——

Freya returned with her laptop and Davenport used it to update Chase's chip to send the bionic teens a message. Freya hopes it works.

Davenport recorded himself saying the message. "Guys, I know Douglas has you. Leo and I are doing everything we can to find you. But if you can escape, come home. Perry has agreed to keep our bionic secret. Can we do that again? I just feel like this hologram makes me look fat."

Freya shut off the hologram and shook her head. "No."

——

Time has passed and they haven't heard anything from Adam, Bree, and Chase. Freya has a feeling they will come home soon, she feels it. They're smart. Well, two of them are.

All they have to do now is wait and hope they come home soon. Freya still had the holographic device Chase recorded his message on. She was going to keep it.

All the furniture had been returned to the house in the meantime. There were giant boxes all around the house that need to be unpacked. Tasha was unpacking some boxes. Leo, Freya, and Davenport walked into the living room and Tasha stood.

"Still no word from the kids?" Tasha asked.

"No." Freya replied with sorrow.

"You're a tech whiz. Isn't there something else you can do, like send them a text alert, or friend request, or have them paged?" Tasha suggested.

Leo started to open a box. "I'll be honest, sometimes I wonder how you two ended up together."

"Look, all we can do is hope they got the cyber message." Davenport told his wife. "Until then, we just have to wait."

The door opened and in walked Adam, Bree, and Chase. Freya stood up, gasping happily at the sight.

"We're home!" Bree smiled.

"Well, that didn't take long." Leo said. Chase immediately ran over and hugged Freya tightly. She felt relief get lifted off her shoulders as she hugged Chase.

"I was so worried," Freya mumbled into his chest and Chase rubbed her back, missing the comfort of her hugs.

"Me too." He said and pulled away from her. Freya smiled up at him and he smiled back at her. She missed his beautiful smile.

"I'm so glad you're safe. I was so worried." Tasha sighed with relief, hugging Bree and then hugged Adam. Chase moved to Davenport and hugged him.

"You guys okay?" Davenport asked after all the hugs being shared ended.

"We're fine, but Douglas has a new partner." Chase informed him.

"Eh, give it six months. Big one's super high maintenance." Adam shrugged.

"He's some crazy billionaire named Victor Krane, and he's implanting himself with bionics." Chase explained and Freya's frowned at the name. "His face is disturbing!"

"Krane must be the guy who helped Douglas escape from your warehouse." Freya told Davenport.

"I've never even heard of him, but I'm gonna find out who he is and how to stop him." Davenport declared and walked away.

"You guys must be starving. I'll get dinner started." Tasha suggested and ran to the kitchen.

"Look at this. Things are finally getting back to normal." Leo smiled happily as he joined the others in the kitchen.

Freya and Chase stood next to each other near the couch. Their eyes met and Chase's face softened when he saw her eyes.

"You okay?" He asked with worry.

"I am now," Freya smiled, before she walked over to the counter to help open boxes.

Suddenly, Chase froze and his eyes turn green.

——

~Douglas and Krane's Warehouse~

Through Chase's eyes, Victor Krane and Douglas are able to see what he sees.

"Chase's Triton App is up and running. Once I activate Adam and Bree, they'll do whatever we want. Time to have some fun." Douglas said. "Chest bump!"

Douglas tries to chest bump Krane but falls to ground. Krane folded his arms, staring at him.

"You know what? I'll just activate Adam and Bree." Douglas groaned, recovering. "I'm fine, by the way."

——
Freya on the cat with Adam, Bree and Chase as Leo was explaining what happened when they were gone.

"...Then the lab blew up and we got trapped in the elevator. Big D confided his deepest secrets with us." Leo said and Freya chuckled.

"Hiding you three in the basement, not even top ten." Freya mentioned.

Chase gets up and stares at Leo. Freya frowns at this.

"Hey, what's up with your eyes?" Leo asks Chase and Freya notices his green eyes. Chase roughly  lifts Leo up. "Hey! Hey! Easy on the chest hairs. I only have two."

"Chase, what are you-" Freya got up to ask, but Chase shoved her to the floor. She grunted as she landed.

"Adam, Bree, you're up." Douglas spoke from the warehouse.

Adam and Bree's eyes turn green and they stand up. Freya noticed this and gasped, scooting away.

"This fridge is empty. Why don't I just whip up a little tuna surprise?" Tasha asked her husband. Adam appeared behind them, before picking up Davenport and throwing him across the room. Bree was staring into Freya's soul and she stared backed with fear.

"Adam, please don't throw him. You know how delicate your father is." Tasha politely asked.

"What's happening?!" Freya asked.

"Douglas must've enabled their Triton app. Look at their eyes." Davenport explained and Freya noticed all the bionic teens had green eyes. "He's controlling them."

"Mom, watch out!" Leo called and Bree super speeds menacingly over to Tasha. Tasha moved out of the way and Bree flipped over the counter. Freya quickly got up, carefully looking around.

"Forget the tuna, I'm about to open up a can of Bree surprise." Tasha warned.

Freya swiftly punched Chase in the arm and he dropped Leo, which gave Leo time to run. Freya quickly followed him with Tasha and Davenport running too.

——

Freya, Leo, Tasha, and Davenport were sneaking around the house, hiding from the bionic teens. They stood in front of the elevator, huddling together.

"I think we lost them." Davenport whispered.

The elevator opens and Adam stood there menacingly. The all turned and yelled, before running away with Adam firing his heat vision at them.

"Why are they trying to hurt us?" Tasha asked in a panic.

"It's not them, it's Douglas. Let's get out of here." Davenport rushed them and the four ran to the door, but Chase blocked it using his molecular kinesis to move a box in front of the door. They turned to run the other way, but Bree supersped in front of them. Chase threw a small box over their heads and Freya yelped, ducking.

"Okay, you and your brother just need to hug this out!" Freya cried to Davenport, before the four ran off in different directions.

——

Freya and Leo were being chased by Chase. "Why aren't you going after Adam? He's the one who always picks on you!" Freya cried as they got close to the front door, but got trapped between two boxes.

"Quick, Adam! Make a short joke! Tell him he's got a doll-like body!" Leo yelled out. Adam and Bree were attacking Davenport and Tasha by firing lasers at them. The couple hid behind the counter with a frying pan to block the laser.

Chase used his molecular kinesis to hover a box over there heads. Freya and Leo grabbed one another in fear, yelping.

"No, no, no. Chase, no." Freya cried out, gripping Leo tightly.

"Donald! Do something!" Tasha yelled.

"Chase don't drop it!" Davenport protested. "Listen to me. The Triton app only controls your bionics. Not your human side. You have to fight it!"

"Yes, Chase. Remember? All the great times we had? All the cool inventions we built? The time Trent made us bob for apples in the bathroom?" Leo told him and Freya smacked his arm as Chase's glare intensified. "Okay, that wasn't really cool, but we did it together."

"It's not working!" Freya yelled.

"Keep trying! It's our only chance!" Davenport said.

"I'm the one who showed you the real world, Chase. I taught you what it means to be a brother. A good one. Not like Adam is to you!Remember when I found you in the lab? Our first day of school? When we won the robot throwdown? Oh, I still have the picture!" Leo got out his phone and showed Chase the picture. "Here. See?"

Freya looked over and saw the picture of the two with their robot.

"Try and remember, Chase." Davenport said.

"Yeah, see? You, me? Together? Brothers?" Leo smiled, but Chase didn't react. "Freya, do something."

"Chase." Freya began. "You have to remember me. You showed me around the school my first day. We had class together. It was biology, the thing that we both love so much." Chase's head tilted, remembering. "I got you those tickets to the planetarium that we are going to in a month together. You're my best friend, Chase. I know you are in there. It's me, Freya, Chase. Please." Freya had tears running down her face and she had walked up to him. His eyes were connected to hers and she gently took his face. She let out shaky breath. "Hope this works."

She gently kissed his lips for a moment. Millions of butterflies fluttered in her stomach, feeling sparks fly all around her. Chase's eyes closed and he kissed her back as the triton app deactivated. Freya quickly moved away as Chase threw the box to the side.

"Wow, I didn't expect that." Davenport grinned and Freya was stood there blushing. Chase looked at her before fainting.

Leo went to check on Chase as Freya stood there, touching her lips in shock.

She just kissed Chase.

——

Chase has recovered with the help of Freya, Leo, Davenpor, and Tasha.

"My head is killing me." Chase groaned.

"You remember anything?" Freya asked, worried he remembered the kiss.

"Not really." He said and Freya let out a quiet sigh.

"It was Douglas' Triton App." Leo informed him.

Bree and Adam geared up to attack on the other side of the room.

"Bree? What's wrong with your eyes?" Chase asked as Bree got closer.

"Douglas is controlling them. You have to fight back!" Davenport exclaimed

"I can't fight them! They're my—"

Adam hits Chase in the stomach with his heat vision, making Chase hit the box behind him.

"Fight!" Leo yelled and the four hid behind the couch as Chase took on his siblings.

Chase stepped forward and used his molecular kinesis to push a box toward Adam, crushing him against the wall. Freya smiled at this, but it faded when Addam pushes the box aside.

"Uh, oh." Freya muttered. Adam began to use his hear vision and Chase blocked it using his forcefield. Chase began to struggle after a moment as Adam got closer and this made Chase scoot back.

"Adam's too strong! Chase can't hold out much longer!" Davenport said while being in Tasha's arms.

"I have a question, why am I holding you in my arms?" Tasha asked her husband.

Chase was not against the box, fighting for his life. Freya hated hearing Chase yell like that.

"Adam, stop! You're hurting him!" Freya cried out.

"Can't you just talk him out of it like Leo tried to do with Chase?" Tasha asked.

"What really worked was Freya's kiss," Davenport corrected with a smirk and Freya smacked him.

"Let's not mention it!" She exclaimed, flustered.

"Wait, if Douglas is controlling them, can't Chase do the same thing? He's got that override app that takes over their bionics in emergencies." Leo suggested.

"It's too dangerous, he can't use two abilities at the same time!" Davenport protested.

"No! I've done it before." Chase called.

"Wait, why would you do that?! It puts too much stress on your system, you're lucky to be alive!" Davenport shouted.

"Hey, why don't you yell at him when he's not FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE!!!" Freya screamed at him and Davenport ducked down.

"I've got no choice! I have to try!" Chase said

"I believe in you Chase!" Leo cried.

"Stop talking!" Chase snapped, before touching his temple. "Activating override app."

Chase looks at Bree and connects to her. Her Triton App disables and she faints.

"Hurry! Your forcefield's about to collapse!" Leo advised.

"See? I told you, when he uses two abilities at the same time..."

"Shut it!" Tasha, Leo, and Freya snapped at Davenport.

Chase connects to Adam, his Triton App disables and he passes out. Chase's forcefield disappears and the four gasped.

"Yes!" Leo and Freya said.

"He did it!" Davenport said and the four ran over to Chase. Freya hugged him, allowing him to rest on her. She sighed, shutting her eyes and he let out a breath on her shoulder. She felt him relax.

——

After Bree and Adam recovered, the group rode the elevator down to what used to be the lab.

"Guys, what you're about to see is pretty disturbing." Davenport warned them, before the door opened. The group walked out into the destroyed lab.

"Wow." Bree said in shock.

"The whole reason I built this place was to protect you, and I couldn't even do that. I feel like I failed you." Davenport admitted.

"Well, I'm glad someone said it." Adam mentioned and Freya smacked his arm.

"You didn't fail us. If you hadn't brought us together as a family, and let us live like normal kids, we would never have been able to defeat the Triton App." Chase told his father and Freya smile.

"Thanks, guys." Davenport smiled, putting his arms around Chase and Tasha. "You're right. I am handsome and brilliant."

Chase frowned. "I didn't—"

"No, no. Let him go, it's how he copes." Freya told Chase, before the group hugged.

Slowly, everyone went back up the house, but Chase held Freya back.

"Freya." He said once they were alone and she turned to him.

"Yes?" Freya grew nervous.

"What happened?" He asked. "Did I heard Mr. Davenport correctly?"

Her eyes grew and she chuckled nervously. "I smacked you. That's what I did. I don't know what you heard. But it wasn't what you thought."

Chase frowned in confusion, noticing her flustered face.

"You sure?" He asked her and Freya nodded.

"Yes." She said. "Now, let's go upstairs this place is depressing."

Freya quickly ran into the elevator and Chase stood there as the doors closed. He softly smiled, touching his lips.

He knows she kissed him.

——

Up Next: The Jet Wing

Freya kissed Chase. She thinks he doesn't remember, but he does. As I said, it will take time for them to get together, but they will have some fluff.
