3rd Person POV
Emily and Aria sit on Aria's porch swing as Emily apologizes, "I'm sorry for just stopping by."
"No. Anytime, Em," Aria assures her, nudging her leg, "Come on, you know that."
Awkward silence lingers for a moment. "Somebody left a note in my locker," Emily admits.
"From A?" Aria guesses right away, relief washing over her face that she's not the only one.
"You too?" Emily questions.
"Do you really think it's her?" Aria asks, both of them thinking the possibility of it being Alison, just as Scarlett did. "Is it possible?"
"Only Alison could've known," Emily says firmly.
"What? Known? Known what?" Aria rushes out.
"It was-"
"Personal?" Aria finishes for her.
"I really believed she was dead," Emily tells her.
"Yeah. Yeah, we all did," Aria agrees, "Well, except Scarlett. Scarlett never thought she was dead."
That got Emily thinking. "Scarlett, um, she knew about my secret too actually, not just Alison."
Aria blinks, "Yeah, mine too." She pauses. "But you don't think-"
"No," Emily's quick to answer. "No. It's not her style."
"Yeah," Aria chuckles, "She would just say it to our faces, not play games," Aria nods in agreement.
Even though both girls haven't spoken to Scarlett in a while they rushed to defend her, knowing better than to believe that A is her doing...
Scarlett's POV
I exit my steaming shower to see a text from Spencer. Ugh, didn't we just have a conversation at the window?
We need to talk her text reads.
I reply back with its late, cant we jst tlk 2morrow?
I start towel drying my hair as my phone buzzes again. I expect it to be Spencer but audibly gasp as I read the text.
@ the police station rn...
Oh shit. Hanna finally got caught?? I text back saying she better give me all the details first thing tomorrow if she's at school.
Well, I guess she finally got her wish. Her dad will definitely be hearing about this.
I throw on a matching pajama set, then my robe, and pad down stairs for some water. Maybe I should take something with it, I'm so over today.
Of course my parents still aren't home yet I notice right away. It would be more rare if they actually were. I start rummaging through our medicine cabinet for some melatonin when I hear sirens. But they don't fade, no, they get closer and closer until it sounds like they're right outside in the driveway. I shut the cabinet door, banging my forehead against it. Maybe I should hit it harder and I can wake up from whatever nightmare is apparently occurring.
Lights shine through our front living room as I peak out the door and find people starting to swarm next door and several police cars and a fire truck parked outside of the DiLaur- the neighbors yard, some even in the street. What the hell?
I quickly rush out the door, shoes not even being a thought at the moment. I see Emily, Emily? hurry over to that girl I met earlier and then my eyes flash over to a gurney with a body bag being wheeled on it.... And it's not an empty one.
Oh god.
Bile rushes up my throat and I stumble back, not even caring about the sticks that are probably cutting up my feet. I release a shaky breath as I notice Hanna out of the corner of my eye push her way to front of the crowd. How did she get here? She catch a ride with one of the officers?
I make eye contact with her and she nods her head towards Spence's house.
We escape the crown and see Aria speed walking from her car towards Spencer. She's standing on the sidewalk in front of her house staring at the scene in horror. Huh, we're all here then?
"I heard the cops took Hanna to the police station today," We hear Aria tell Spencer.
Spencer snaps her head to her. "Wait- you don't think she'd ever talk about-?"
"The Jenna thing?" Hanna voices as we join them, startling both in the process since we came from behind. "We made a promise," She finishes.
"One we all intend on keeping," I slant my eyes at Spencer as Aria turns to look at us before we all look back over to the mess that's unfolding. Guess this really is a nightmare.

I went home with Hanna, far too upset to be alone or even sleep now. I sent both my parents a text and never heard back. Even though they don't care if I'm at her house or mine, I let them know what was happening next door.
Hanna and I are now curled up on her couch, sharing ice cream and watching the news, though that's the last thing I wanted to watch.
"Current owners were in the process of demolishing the structure to make room for a renovation project when workers made the gruesome discovery," The reporter explains. "The parents of the deceased were unavailable to for comment..."
Well no shit. It literally hasn't even been like three hours, how dare they think that they would comment!
"But a family spokesperson has confirmed," The reporter draws me back in, "The gazebo was under construction the summer 15-year-old Alison DiLaurentis disappeared."
That last part makes me sick.
"Here," I pass the small Ben & Jerry's back to Hanna, "I can't eat anymore."
"Tonight the family is asking for privacy-"
"Then why are you showing it on tv," I mumble, looking at my hands when they show paramedics rolling out the gurney. Out of the corner of my eye I see Hanna's eyes widen as she takes frantic bites.
"As they come to terms with the sad ending to a year-long mystery. And local authorities are coming to terms with the fact a killer is at large in Rosewood," The reporter finishes.
She can't be dead. There's just no way. I just saw her. Heard from her. Didn't I? This is all too much. Am I losing it? Am I actually going fucking crazy?
"Thank you so much," The anchor man takes over just as we hear banging.
I jolt as Hanna gasps. She hurries to shut the tv off and grabs my wrist as she pulls the blanket we're sharing tighter to her chest. I sink further into her and the couch as we turn to see a man push Ashley, Hanna's mom, up against the wall. I tense up and squeeze Hanna's arm but my grip loosens once they start to kiss.
"Ew," I mutter under my breath, my whole face scrunching in disgust. I look at Hanna wondering who is that but she's still staring at them as she tries to catch her breath, looking just as confused as I am.
I turn back in time to see the man leading Ashley upstairs. She looks over her shoulder at us, well Hanna, with a look I'm too shook up to read further into.
Well, that was... interesting.

Later, once Hanna falls asleep, I chew on my lip as my finger hovers over the call button. I know I shouldn't, and I hate myself for it, but after earlier I haven't stopped thinking about calling him.
I let my finger press it, hitting the end button as soon as I do. What the fuck am I thinking??? I sigh in frustration and throw my phone at my pillow. My eyes begin to sting as my throat aches for the tears or a scream to be released. I collapse onto my pillow, raking my hands roughly down my face. A dark chuckle quietly escapes my lips.
What. The. Fuck. were you thinking??
