𖡡 bell household
6:30 pm
Pip had drove Ravi and Phoenix back to her house. They sat parked outside as they continued the conversation. "In the eyes of the world, it doesn't make Sal look great, does it?"
"Nothing looks good in the eyes of the world Ravi" Phoenix stated and sighed as she leaned into her seat "The jealous boyfriend is kind of the oldest motive in the book" Ravi used the stuff he knew "But Andie had two boyfriends, Sorry Phoenx" Pip apologized looking back at her
"It's whatever, I loved my sister and i still do, but having two boyfriends is messed up, i didn't know that about her." Phoenix shrugged her shoulders sinking into her seat, feeling the tension in the air rise "You didn't know? Not even about secret older guy?" Pip questioned as Ravi looked at Phoenix a look of guilt.
"I knew something was going on with a guy that wasn't Sal, but i never knew who it was or what exactly was happening" Phoenix swallowed harshly, remembering how her sister warned her if she mumbled a word. But Phoenix felt like that warning didn't mean anything now.
"I was close with Andie, but she was secretive. There was lots of things people didn't know about her, even her closest friends" Pip nodded
"So dont be surprised if we find out something shocking, she wasn't always innocent" Phoenix decided to stop talking, as the guilty entered her mind. She felt as if she was betraying Andie's trust. Even if Andie was gone, it felt like she was always watching and listening.
Ravi noticed how uncomfortable Phoenix looked. "In the bright side, were already one step ahead of the police." Ravi gave her a smug smile one of empathy. "Yeah that counts for something"
"Nice work Sarge and Lieutenant" Pip laughed at the nicknames "Dont get eaten by a bear tonight Pip, it would be a bummer" Pippa rolled her eyes "Shut up Phoenix"
"So what are you guys going to do?" Pip raised and eyebrow. "Might try and talk to Becca, i dont really know." Phoenix was honest "And i might go partying and clubbing"
"Oh please, the only party you've been to was mine, and it was princess themed when we were five!" Phoenix tease him, remembering their past friendship "Shut up, ive been to plenty of parties" Phoenix snorted at the false lie
"Just gonna have an all night gaming session in my bedroom" Ravi revealed "I should go, matter of fact we should both go" Ravi ranted trying to leave the situation "No, you've got to meet Cara" Pip protested "That's really not necessary Pippa"
"Phoenix come on, Cara doesn't like you anymore" Pip covered her mouth as Phoenix jaw dropped "Im gonna pretend i never heard that"
They all got out of the car. Ravi grabbed onto her and tried dragging both of them away, but Pippa stopped them. Pip forced them through a awkward introduction. Cara had a flustered look as she talked to Phoenix.
And Ravi noticed. A part of him wanted to drag Phoenix away but he knew he couldn't. "We should go, enjoy your trip guys, and be careful" Phoenix blew Pippa a kiss
Ravi walked in front of Phoenix. "So where we heading?" Ravi broke the silence and let Phoenix adjust to his walking pace. "Well I was heading home, by myself, not with you" Phoenix immediately said, clearly empathizing the 'I'
"Okay? its not like i wanted to go with you either way" Ravi scoffed "Keep lying, its not a good look Ravi" Ravi didn't say anything "You used to like when i lied Nix" He used the nickname she hadn't used im years.
"Well we aren't the same kids we used to be, okay Rav? So don't act like we are." Phoenix walked away as Ravi called out her name. "Phoenix! Come on!" She stopped in her tracks "What do you want Ravi."
"Let's just forget everything happened even for a couple of minutes and we can watch re-runs of glee in your living room" It seemed like he was almost pleading "Like old times" They both whispered. "Fine, just dont make anything weird, you're still not forgiven."
"Im just bored and you're the only person around" Phoenix and Ravi walked next to eachother as the silence filled the space, It wasn't awkward. It was comforting in a way. Both their thoughts being the same.
They made it into the driveway of the very guarded house. Phoenix unlocked the door and the air hit them. Ravi hadn't been in this house in years. Everything felt nostalgic. He could almost hear the laughter for fourteen year old them laughing about the stupidest shit.
Atticus was in the kitchen and looked shocked when she saw Ravi. She gave him a smile. "Ravi my man, it's been awhile" Atticus greeted "It's just for now, don't get used to it Ace" Phoenix clarified as she took her assigned seat on the couch. Ravi sat next to her, it was where they always sat. They then started their re-run of glee in silence.
