looks are deceiving, almost 99% of the time. you can look at someone and make an assumption, too many tattoos? must be a criminal? a black eye? a trouble maker. looking at paris, it's easy to make assumptions. rich girl, parents don't pay her much attention, she must be spoilt — well that part isn't a complete lie. paris is arguably the most innocent girl, ever. she's seen a lot of things, but that doesn't mean she has done it all. waiting for the right person, the right time, maybe she's picky, but people don't seem worthy enough to be the right person. paris would much rather hold out, than do anything she regrets, with someone she would definitely regret it with.

paris is particular with who she spends time with, and what she does. she doesn't mind interacting with others, brought up in the limelight it was pretty common for her to be socialising with others. she hates when the spotlight is directly on her, though. in a crowd, she would hate to be singled out, and as long as she has her closest friends by her side, she can pretty much get through anything. although at times it's dependant on the situation she's in. paris suffers from slight anxiety — a result of modelling during her younger years. it's uncomfortable to be alone, without people she knows, for too long. whilst interacting with others is not a big deal, it can be overwhelming, and when feeling a little too overwhelmed, her anxiety sky rockets and it doesn't take much for her to grow uncomfortable.

it goes without saying, having been forced to do things — like model — against her free will, just to please her mother, paris finds it hard to express how she feels. she finds it hard to communicate effectively, often just doing things to please others, specifically her parents, even if a part of her doesn't want to. paris has a habit of bottling up her emotions up until the point where she can no longer contain it. a breakdown like that has only happened once, but it's one time too many. it's not like she's a pushover, paris simply prefers to not address her concerns and issue, the fear that they won't be taken seriously and would be ignored. she's tried in the past, tried to explain how things made her feel, but more often than not they were disregarded and brushed over as if nothing. hence why she avoids telling people how she feels, it's easier that way. the feeling following the act of being ignored isn't a pleasant one, so why not avoid saying anything that could be ignored in the first place?

born into an influential family & the youngest of five, paris' father runs a successful, multi-million dollar firm, whilst her mother was a supermodel early on in her life. as a result, paris was brought up in the limelight, tabloids discussing her family, discussing her siblings, discussing her. not that it really bothered her, she was too young to understand what was going on. no five year old — or well, maybe just paris — knew what it meant to have people snapping photos of you randomly, to have them hounding your parents, to have them asking questions and not leaving you alone till you answered said question. it was bizarre, and definitely uncomfortable for a child of that age, or well, any age. she wasn't equipped for media attention, but really, no child of that age truly was. what paris wanted, what she needed, was a normal childhood. with two busy parents who had demanding jobs, it was safe to say they weren't around as much as they should've been — as much as they could've been. holidays were to keep up a public face, most of the time it was the nannies that took the kids around to do what they wanted to. it was paris' nanny that raised her. each child had their own nanny to look after them, and paris spent most of the day with her nanny, whom she would probably consider to be a mother-like figure at this point.

when her parents were around, they didn't hesitate to make their presence known. if her mother wasn't busy jetting off to european countries for fashion shows. she'd be commenting on the children's food intake — the way they looked, always finding ways to mould one of her children into the next supermodel with the older. her siblings obviously uninterested, so the attention and expectations fell onto paris. she must've been at least ten years old, when put forward for her first mini fashion show, it was a mess. the clothing was itchy, suffocating, not to mention all the people there watching and standing, those there taking photos, instantly in the spotlight. a disaster was bound to happen, the tabloids didn't take to it lightly either, the headlines were unkind, 'the supermodel and the disaster child', anything else taunting and humiliating. not to mention her mother decided that paris needed extra attention, more focus and a push in the right direction — that could never be a good thing.

any child would improve if given the adequate and proper amount of attention & supervision. as expected, so did paris. it wasn't really a choice, she was afraid of disappointing her mama, who wouldn't be? however that much focus & dedication definitely had it's impacts, some good, some not so good. her mother forcing her disorderly ways of eating onto paris was an example of the not so good outcomes — as a result came the calorie counting, the weight watching, the fear of certain foods her mother had branded as 'wrong' or 'unhealthy', when clearly they just didn't satisfy her mother. to her mother, this whole thing was a kind of game, a way to relive her youth. any prize that paris won in modelling competitions, was automatically also her mother's prize. after all, she helped, why wouldn't it be? paris never had the heart to tell her mother she hated it, it was the only sort of attention she received from the woman. so it was either suffer miserably and not have any communication with at least one of her parents, or to please them and hope to build a bond. now her father was far too busy to worry about any of this, he was a workaholic and could be find behind his desk almost constantly. either his desk in the office building, or his home desk — on holidays he could be found behind a makeshift desk as well. so yes, they had money, wealth and fame, but at what cost?

clearly nothing ever really satiated the two. the more she stood for pictures, the more she walked down that catwalk, the more paris lost interest — or well, the tiny piece she had anyway. under the ruse of wanting to pursue higher education, she had temporarily managed to satiate her mother into dropping the whole modelling thing, for now anyway. set to graduate soon, it wouldn't be long until the whole conversation started up again. so far, paris had managed to successfully dodge questions regarding her future as a model, and hoped to continue to do so. she couldn't do anything she wasn't passionate about and one day would have to burst her mother's happy bubble, but not yet.
