In My Time of Dying.

Athena always wondered what happened to her mother.

And anytime she would ask her father, he would never give her a straight answer. It was always, 'She abandoned you' or 'I found you at your worst and you should be grateful'. So, Athena tried to keep her mouth shut and pretend that she was grateful. She pretended like she didn't need to know the truth. A part of her slowly started to believe she didn't need to know either. John revealed the truth to Dean when he first brought Athena back to the Motel. When John first came back with Athena in his arms, Sam and Dean were confused. It was abrupt when John left that morning and now he's back with a baby?

John didn't know how to tell his sons about what really happened. So, he took a few months to come up with a perfect cover story that a devoted son would believe. It was pretty easy. When John told Dean, he couldn't even handle the guilt--not by himself. So, Dean did the only thing he thought was right. He waited until he and Sam were alone so he could tell him the truth about Athena's mom. And now they were both stuck with the truth.

And now, they were stuck with the gut-wrenching truth about what happened to Athena's mom.

Flashback

The Impala speeds down the road. John's hands tighten around the steering wheel until his knuckles turn white. He didn't want the news to be true. Fuck it couldn't be true. I mean, of course, if you have unprotected sex someone's bound to get pregnant. But, he has so many other problems to sort out and handle. He couldn't deal with a child. Especially, a child that wasn't—well, a child he didn't want.

John slams his foot on the brake, skidding to a stop. He parks the car and gets out of the car, slamming it shut. John looks at the two-story house. His eyes shift to the white picket fence and he lets out a sharp scoff. He stalks over to the light caramel brown house and walks up the porch steps.

John raises his hand and before he knocks on the door, he stops. There was a part of John that was telling him not to knock on the door. But there was the other part of him that was curious. If this kid was his, he couldn't have it showing up later in his life asking for favors.

No fucking way.

The door opens, revealing the chestnut brunette. As soon as the bright sapphire eyes connected with the man's dull brown eyes, her smile dropped. "John." She tilts her head. "You're actually...here."

John stays silent, "So, where is it?"

The woman raises her brows, "It..." she presses her lips into a small smile. "...she's not an 'it', John." she leans her head against the doorframe.

"Can I come in?"

The brunette squints her eyes through her fringe. "No."

"Faye—"

"Mmmm no," Faye says in a singing tone.

John tenses and Faye smirks, knowing she was getting on his nerves.

"You. Called me." John seethes.

Faye blinks, then she raises her brows. "Huh. I guess I did." She frowns. "Yeah, sure. Come on in." Faye eagerly jumps aside.

John's eyes slightly widen. He doesn't remember Faye being this annoying. The man enters the house and looks around the house. Faye closes the door and leans her back against the door and watches as John examines the house. The brunette pushes herself off the door and brushes past him.

"Come on." Faye motions her head down the hall.

John opens and closes his hands. He shakes the nerves out of them and follows after the woman.

Faye pivots a corner and continues down the hall. She makes it to the door with glued rainbow letters spelling, 'Athena'.

The brunette grips the doorknob, before she opens the door she turns back to John. Faye points at him, "Wait out here."

John holds his hands up and takes a step back. He keeps his arms folded and taps his fingers against his arms. Small coos are heard approaching and Faye comes out of the room quietly comforting the infant.

"John, meet your daughter, Athena Clarke."

John looks at the baby in Faye's arms and doesn't say anything. Faye looks at John and sees the stoic expression. "You know, you have a very punchable face." The brunette walks down the hall.

John rolls his eyes and follows after Faye. The woman places the infant in the crib that was in the front room.

"She's not mine."

The brunette blows her fringe out of her eyes. "Okay."

John turns to the girl, "She's not!"

The woman slows her walking and stares at him. She presses her lips together and shrugs, "Okay."

She motions her head to the door. "You know where the exit is."

John clenches and unclenches his jaw. "How...do you know?"

"I'm Faye Clarke. I know everything." She leans against the wall with a smirk.

John didn't find it funny so Faye rolls her eyes. "I wasn't with anyone else for months, John."

"So, what you just went to the bar just to brush the rust off?" John growls, his anger increasing with every second.

Faye snorts and rubs underneath her eyelid. "I could ask you the same thing, bud she turns to him. "Besides, you came onto me."

"And if you actually came on me. This would've been avoided." Faye holds her arms out.

John looks away from her with a scoff and Faye laughs, knowing she was once again irritating him. "Listen, Johnny Boy, I just wanted to inform you about what's been going on."

John pulls his brows together, "Why didn't you tell me about the child before you had her?" He turns to the girl.

"You seem like the type of guy to Plant one in a girl then pay for an abortion." Faye tilts her head. "Or kick them down the stairs. You've got that sinister look. And I wanted to keep her—"

"Why?" John growls.

Faye squints her eyes, "Because...when I was married, we never succeeded in conceiving. Now, one divorce and a drunken one-night stand and boom—miracle baby."

John looks at the ground and pinches the bridge of his nose. He lets out a chuckle and his chuckle slowly morphs into a laugh. It wasn't a warm laugh that you would hear from a typical suburban father. It was a laugh like someone was saying Faye was the stupidest person to ever walk on the planet.

"Miracle baby? It's a mistake!"

Faye raises her brows, she looks at the ceiling. Her eye twitches and she quietly laughs. Her laugh begins to echo through the house with a sinister squeak to it.

John pulls his brows together a pit forming in his stomach. "Faye--"

"You know, I didn't believe them when they said you were so full of yourself." Faye sighs. "I mean, I thought this would've been an easy mission. After the child is born, I possess the mom, call you, then kill you." she looks back at John, revealing her solid black eyes.

John's eyes widen and his jaw goes slack.

"But you..." she points at John and cackles. "You don't even look like you care about this child. May I ask why?--"

"Who sent you?"

"I mean, this is your flesh and blood, Johnn Boy!" Faye points at the baby in the crib. "And she is to die for. I want to feed her to my Hellhounds. Imagine the screams--"

John reaches for the flask from his bag,  the demon quickly latches her hand around his wrist. "You are gonna have to try a lot harder than that." she chuckles. "Azazel wouldn't be happy about how lackluster your attempt to kill me was."

The demon possessing Faye's body notices John's expression, that was still cold and she slightly tilts her chin up. "Right, right. You don't know him by name so how about...the demon that killed your wife?"

And almost like a flip of a switch, John's face twists with rage. The brunette's smile widens. "There's the reaction I was looking for--"

John punches the demon across the face. Faye snaps her head to the side, she runs her tongue over her set of teeth and exhales through her nose. She looks back at John and cracks a small smile, her lower lip now bleeding. Faye rams her head into John's, causing him to fall to the ground. "Okay, I'm gonna kill you, then take little 'Baby A' on an adventure." she places her hands on her hips. "If she can be of use, then we'll keep her. If not--I'll just toss her on the side of the road or something. It's gotta be better than living with you, right?"

John stabs the demon in the calf. Faye looks down and sighs, "Ouch..." she kicks John across the face, knocking him out. The demon walks over to the crib and lightly touches the baby's nose. "Aw, pumpkin, don't you worry. Momma's gonna be finished soo..."

The demon feels a small tickle in her throat. She quietly coughs and grips at her throat. Faye's coughing becomes more aggressive, black smoke speaking from her lips. Her eyes shift to John, whose eyes were closed. Faye looks back at the baby and her eyes widen, seeing the glowing blue eyes from the child.

"Aw, shi—"

John thrusts his dagger through Faye's back. The demon quietly laughs.

"You are as dumb as fucking rocks, aren't ya?" The demon slightly turns her head toward John.

The demon starts to feel like its innards were burning. Her stomach twists and something travels to her throat. The rest of the black smoke shoots from Faye's mouth. The brunette's body falls to the ground while the black smoke dissipates into the air.

John looks at Faye's body on the ground, then at the baby who had glowing blue eyes. The baby's eyes stop glowing.

"J-John...?"

John looks down at the woman then at the child. How could a child have expelled that demon? Could there really be something special about the kid? John starts to think about all the things that he could use the child for. Training her to become such a skilled hunter and magic user that she could defeat the demon that murders his wife.

"John...what's happening...?" Faye croaks, slowly blinking the tears from her eyes.

Without another second, John stumbles toward the crib. Faye watches as the blurry figure approaches the wailing child.

"Wh-what are you...?" Her voice gets caught in her throat when he sees John grab the child and walk towards the door. "J-John—"

"I'm sorry," John says, shaking his head.

"S-Stop—please!" Faye cries, blood staining her mouth. She coughs, blood spilling from her mouth and she cries out from the excruciating pain that didn't go away anytime soon for her.

Faye tries her best to fight her exhaustion. She goes to move her legs, but she couldn't feel them. Her lips start to shake, she looks back at the door, seeing John run away.

With the last bit of the mother's strength, she inhales a deep breath and lets out a gut-wrenching scream that sends shivers down her child's spine.

"ATHENA!!!"

Exhaustion settles into the mother's body and her tears run down her cheeks. Faye keeps her eyes on the ceiling sobbing quietly, dying at an agonizing rate. She hiccups and feels the blood that was spilling from her body, staining the back of her blouse.

"I-I'm so-so...I'm sorry, bug..."

All of Faye's life she had to survive. She was miserable. Then she had Athena and everything in her life just lit up. Athena Clarke was Faye's light and all Faye wanted to do was have Athena know her father. She didn't want Athena to grow up like her. Just surviving.

And now, here she was, dying on the ground with her daughter gone. Now, Faye had only two thoughts that went through her mind.

She was praying that Athena was safe. But she knew deep down Athena was going to have to fight.

And the second thought...

Faye wished she never called John Winchester in the first fucking place.

Faye Clarke's eyes glaze over, while her body goes limp. As soon as Faye exhaled her last breath, an even powerful electric surge was sent through her daughter's body.

Present

Athena Winchester was a smart girl. But there were two things that always stumped her. The first one was social cues. She hated trying to understand what people were saying without words. Sarcasm was something that Athena couldn't understand either. She was doomed with the amount of sarcasm Sam and Dean use. Another thing that would normally stump Athena was death. Yes, she knew how death worked. But she didn't understand why it would happen. I mean, if there was a God out there why would he take away people's lives? Athena didn't see anything logical about it. Maybe she was thinking about it all wrong.

But in this moment, Athena was looking at her own body. And all she could think about was why?

Hurried steps are heard from down the hall, causing Athena to turn her head. It's like all of Athena's troubles went away. She thought that everything was going to be all right at the sight of her brothers.

"Oh, thank God!" Athena takes a step toward them.

Sam and Dean stare at Athena's cut and bruised body laying in the hospital bed. "Oh, My God..." Sam whispers.

"I'm so glad you guys are okay..." Athena exhales a chuckle of relief. "You know since we all were in some kind of accident--which I'm so fuzzy about."

Her eyes examine their wounds. Sam's eye was still swollen and he had small cuts across his face. Dean had new stitches going down his forehead. Almost in the same place, Athena had hers.

Tears burn in Sam's eyes, seeing the tubes in Athena. His eyes shift to her EKG monitor and he shakes his head. Sam looks over at Dean, whose back was against the wall. Dean could barely even stand on his feet. Sam saw the familiar glassy look in Dean's eyes.

"Dean--"

"I was right there with her, Sammy." Dean shakes his head.

Athena looks at Dean with her brows pulled together.

"You can't blame yourself, Dean." Sam says.

"But, I can." Dean's voice starts to shake. "If I hadn't pushed that Demon so much, he wouldn't have hurt Athena in the first place. Maybe the crash wouldn't have taken such a toll on her."

Athena slowly shakes her head, "Blaming yourself isn't gonna solve anything." she chuckles. "Nobody knew this was going to happen."

"Everything happened so fucking fast..." Sam says softly. "There's nothing for you to blame yourself for. That Demon was going to hurt someone, it would've been any of us."

Sam turns back to Athena's body and walks over to the hospital bed. "Then again, we're her big brothers. We're bound to feel guilty no matter what, huh?"

Dean lets out a tired breath and wipes the tears from his eyes. "Yeah."

Athena tilts her head. She knew her brothers cared about her in their own 'Sam and Dean' way. But, she didn't think they would be so destroyed and defeated over anything happening to her. Athena didn't think anyone would ever be that worried about her. Her brows pull together, remembering her last few memories before she blacked out.

"Where's dad?" Athena asks. She looks back at her brothers and sighs. "You can't hear me, right..."

Athena looks at Sam, "Hey if I wave my hand in front of you, do you think you could sense it?" she waves a hand in front of Sam.

Nothing."

She purses her lips, "He's a seer. Not a psychic."

"Your father's awake." The Doctor walks into the room.

Athena raises her brows, "Well, lucky him."

Sam, Dean, and Athena look at the Doctor.

"You can go see him if you like." The Doctor suggests.

"What about our sister?" The brother's chorus.

Athena smiles softly.

"Well, she sustained serious injury--blood loss, contusions to her liver and kidney."

With each thing the doctor speaks, Athena's smile lessens.

"But it's the head trauma I'm worried about." The Doctor continues.

Athena looks back at her body. Athena's eyes shift to the bandages wrapped around her eye and forehead. The girl didn't know that the extent of her injuries was this bad.

"There's early signs of Cerebral Edema."

Athena snaps her eyes over to the Doctor. "Swelling in the brain..."

Sam and Dean look at each other, then back at the Doctor. "Well, what can we do?"

"Well, we won't know her full condition until she wakes up." The Doctor states.

Sam and Dean almost felt relief until the Doctor corrects his words.

"If she wakes up."

Athena's body stiffens.

"If? What do you mean if?" Dean's voice immediately gets defensive.

"I have to be honest." The Doctor continues. "Most people with her degree of injury wouldn't have survived this long. Especially at her age. She's fighting very hard."

"But you need to have realistic expectations, kids."

Dean's upper lip curls, he opens his mouth to tell the doctor to 'go fuck himself', but Sam speaks.

"O-Okay, Doctor...thank you." Sam's mouth twitches.

The doctor nods his head and leaves the room. Dean shakes his head, "He's full of shit, he doesn't know anything."

"Swear." Sam and Athena chorus.

Dean looks over at Sam with a 'be serious' expression. Athena rolls her eyes, "Dean, I'm sure you guys will find some...magical...magicy...magic thing to help me." she waves a hand.

"Dean, look, we can't tell off the doctor, he's just doing his job." Sam sighs.

"Yeah, well--he's doing a pretty shitty job at his...job." Dean looks back at Athena. "He said Athena's fighting. And he's right about that, Athena's strong--she's a survivor." he nods his head.

Athena raises her brows. Dean walks over to the hospital bed and lightly touches Athena's hand. "I'm gonna need you to keep surviving, Athena. We'll find something."

Tears form in Athena's eyes and she nods her head. Athena knows that she left things rocky with Dean before going into a coma. But seeing how much he was trying to fight for her. Even if there was the slightest amount of hope for her to wake up, made Athena hopeful that their relationship could be stronger than it was.

"We should...go see dad, huh?" Sam inhales.

Dean blinks, "Oh, right..."

He honestly forgot all about his father waking up. Especially, with all the news the Doctor gave them. Sam and Dean walk out of the room and Athena follows them. They caught John up on everything the doctor told them.

"Here. Give them my insurance." John hands the card to Sam.

Sam looks at the name and chuckles, "Elroy McGillicuddy?"

"Yeah, and his three loving kids."

Sam and Dean sit side by side beside John's hospital bed.

"So...what else did the doctor say about Athena?" John asks.

Sam shakes his head, "Nothing."

"Look, if the doctors won't do anything, then we'll have to--that's all," Dean speaks.

"Like what?" Sam asks.

Dean bunches his shoulders, "I don't know--I'll find some...magical...magicy...magic thing to help."

Athena laughs softly.

"We'll find something," John says. "But, boys...I don't know if we're gonna find anyone."

All the kids look at John.

"Why not?" The siblings' chorus.

"I found that faith healer before," Sam says.

"That was one in a million." John retorts.

Sam scrunched his face, "So what? We just sit here with our thumbs up our ass?"

Athena scrunches her brows, "What? Why did you just say that?"

"No, I said we'd look--"

"You're sounding a lot like a Devil's Advocate right now," Dean speaks. His eyes were on the ground. He then looks at his father with a mixture of disbelief and anger in his eyes. "And we don't need that right now, all right?"

John squints his eyes. "I know you guys are upset, but mind your tones."

"We're adults, dad," Dean emphasizes. "And the doctor is saying Athena might not wake up. So, I think I'm entitled for this little attitude of mine, don't ya think?"

Athena shifts her eyes to Dean then to her father. Sam was doing the same thing. John and Dean continue to look at each other. John has been through many showdowns with Sam and has had a handful of with Athena. But never has Dean been the one to stand up to him. It didn't sit right with John.

"All right, I'll check under every stone." John nods.

Athena's eyes widen, "Hot diggity dog--he gave in."

Silence settles into the room.

"Where's the Colt?"

Sam and Dean scoff. Athena presses her lips into a line and slowly nods her head.

"Your daughter is dying, and you're worried about the Colt?" Sam questions.

"Not surprised there." Athena murmurs.

Dean looks down at his hands and shakes his head in disbelief. Why did he look up to him again?

"We are hunting this Demon and maybe it's hunting us, too." John states. "That gun may be our only card."

"It's in the trunk." Sam states. "They dragged the car to a yard off of I-83."

"All right, you got to clean out that trunk before some junk man sees what's inside." John orders.

"We already called Bobby," Dean informs their father. "He's like an hour out."

"He's gonna tow the Impala back to his place," Sam adds.

"All right. You two go meet up with Bobby. You get that Colt and bring it back to me." John continues. "And you watch out for hospital security."

"I think we got that covered."

Sam stands up then Dean.

"Hey, Dean."

Dean turns to his father, "Yeah?"

John holds a paper out toward his eldest son. "I made a list of things I need."

Dean grabs the paper and looks at the list.

"Have Bobby pick them up for me."

"Acacia?" Dean raises his brows. "Oil of Abramelin? What's this stuff for?"

"Protection."

Athena squints her eyes, "Liar."

Dean nods his head and before the boys could leave, Sam turns back to his father.

"Hey, dad, you know the Demon--he said he had plans for me and children like me." Sam states.

Dean slightly lifts his chin, there was so much that happened that night. He totally forgot the Demon said that.

"You have any idea what he meant by that?" Sam inquires.

John shakes, "No, I don't."

Athena cranes her neck forward, "Double liar."

Sam and Dean walk out of the room and continue down the hall. "Here." Dean holds the list out to his brother.

Sam grabs the list and pulls his brows together, "Why are you giving this to me?"

"Uh, I'm gonna stay here with Athy," Dean says.

Sam pulls his brows together, "But dad said he wanted us both to go."

"Good for him." Dean presses his lips together. "I'm staying."

Dean walks past Sam and goes to Athena's room. Sam lets out a chuckle, finding Dean's defiance against their father amusing.

Half an hour had passed, and Sam still wasn't back yet.

Athena keeps her eyes on her father, who hasn't moved an inch. He didn't make any phone calls to anyone. He just sat there, drowning in his thoughts. "What are you thinking about?" she paces back and forth with her arms folded. "How better your life is going to be with me dead?"

"Where babies come from probably?" Athena shakes her head. "That's still something I'm curious about."

Athena touches her chin as her mind jumps off to another topic. "I've heard the stork theory and the pumpkin patch theory. Then there's just the most horrifying one of all, which I really hope isn't true--"

A sniffle is heard from John and Athena stops in her tracks. She turns to her father and pulls her brows together. "Oh, God..." Athena looks around the room. "Please don't tell me your crying..."

Tears form in John's eyes.

"Please don't tell me your crying for me..." Athena's shoulders sag. "I am a sucker for tears even from you," she growls, pointing at him. "You better stop those tears."

John wipes at his eyes and Athena raises her brows, "Spooky..." she walks out of the room, and her feet pad against the cold tiled floor. Athena turns into her room but stops seeing Dean crying. Dean was holding Athena's hand that wasn't in the sling.

Athena slowly enters the room. "Oh, boy...more tears." she inhales. "I would rather see you cry than dad, so..." she inhales a breath and stands next to Dean. Her eyes stay glued to her lifeless body.

"Do you remember when you first went to school?"

Athena looks at her brother, who was now wiping his tears. "Yeah..." she blinks. "But, you can't hear me. I keep forgetting that."

"You were so excited..." Dean chuckles. "You had that same Hello Kitty backpack and you were wearing light-up pink sketchers with yellow overalls.

Athena raises her brows, "So, I still dress that way except for the shoes." she nods her head. "Good to know."

"You said you were going to make so many friends and show them your new Marvel-issued comics you got."

Athena chuckles, "They were still in the plastic."

"And they were still in the plastic!" Dean throws his head back and laughs.

Athena's chuckle forms into laughter.

Dean shakes his head and he looks back at Athena, thinking about how that story ended. "But, that's not how it went..."

Athena looks at the ground, wishing she could forget that day.

"You came back to the Motel and said that everyone said you were 'too much." Dean quietly scoffs. "But, you didn't even cry, you didn't scream or wish those kids terrible futures..." he shakes his head. "...you just smiled and said you would do better next time."

"Athena, you are better than any of us," Dean says softly, his voice shaking. "You are the best of us."

Athena's eyes well with tears and a smile twitch onto her lips.

"You think about everyone else before you even think about yourself." Dean chuckles. "I mean, I would say I'm a caring guy, but I think about myself--a lot."

Athena laughs and wipes her tears.

"And I have a confession to make..."

Athena pulls her brows together, noticing Dean scratching the back of his neck.

"I remember seeing those kids on the street the next day and, I--pfft! May have given one a little trip on the pavement."

Athena's eyes blow wide, "Oh My Gosh!"

"Yeah, not my best moment. Especially since I took the 20 dollars that fell out of the kid's pocket after." Dean covers his face.

"That's where the money came from!" Athena tilts her head back. "I was wondering where you got it from."

Athena's brows pull together and she frowns. "I spent stolen money."

"I just wish I was able to keep that same protective brother attitude these past few years..." Dean sinks into his seat. "...I have been a shitty brother and all because I wanted Dad's approval." his eyes burn with tears again. "He was always--always so worried about Sammy, even after Sam left, dad still talked about him. But I was...right there. And he never saw me."

"And I thought that maybe if I was on his side. He would at least be proud of me." Dean lets out a bitter chuckle. "I felt guilty as shit. I hated myself, but I just...I didn't care as long as dad was proud of me."

Athena presses her lips into a frown. "I didn't know any of this." she looks at her hands. "I say I'm some kind of empath and yet...I can't tell what my own brother is feeling."

"I want to make it up to you." Dean's voice breaks. "I want to be a better big brother, so please--you've gotta wake up, all right? You have to."

Athena nods her head, "I'm gonna hang on." she looks at her brother. "I am not going anywhere, okay?"

Sam enters the room, before he could say anything he stops; noticing the tears in Dean's eyes. Dean quickly wipes his eyes at the sight of his brother. "Hey, you got everything?"

Sam's chest tightens and his eyes shift to Athena's body. "Yeah...I did." he sighs. "We need to talk to dad."

Dean pulls his brows together, "Why--what's up?"

"He's a lying son of a..." Sam looks back at Athena's body. "...nugget."

"Nugget?" Dean blinks.

Sam shrugs, "I'm censoring myself. I'm not putting money in that jar, dude."

"Well, I get that, but out of all the words you chose nugget?" Dean cranes his neck forward.

Athena laughs softly. She follows her brothers out of the room and as soon as they get to John's, Sam drops the duffel bag on his bed.

"You think I wouldn't find out?" Sam snaps.

"What are you talking about?" Dean asks.

"That stuff from Bobby." Sam continues. "You don't use it to ward off a demon--you use it to summon one."

Dean unfolds his arms and looks at John.

"You're planning on bringing the demon here, aren't you--having some stupid macho showdown--"

"I have a plan, Sam," John states, his tone stern.

Athena lets out a breath and leans against the wall. Dean pinches the bridge of his nose.

"That's exactly my point!" Sam shouts. "Athena is dying, and you have a plan! You care more about killing this demon than you do saving your own daughter!"

"Guys, we can't do this now." Dean exasperates.

"Do not tell me how I feel. I am doing this for Athena!" John raises his voice.

"Well, that's a first." Sam scoffs.

John squints his eyes, "What?--"

"Look, dad, you don't have to act confused, all right?" Dean lets out a scoff. "You treat Athena like shit. So, we might be a little...surprised with you wanting to 'help her'."

"How is this revenge thing going to help her anyway?!" Sam shouts. "You're not thinking about anybody but yourself. It's the same selfish obsession!"

Athena lightly starts to bang her head against the wall. "Please stop..." she lets out an exaggerated whine.

"That's funny!" John huffs. "I thought this was your obsession, too! This demon killed your mother, killed your girlfriend! You begged me to be part of this hunt!"

"Now, if you killed that damn thing when you had the chance, none of this would have happened!"

"Yeah, because blaming your son for this is going to solve everything." Athena rolls her eyes.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Dean snaps. "It was possessing you. He saved your life!"

"Yeah, and your sister would be awake right now!" John shouts at Dean.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up..." Athena runs her hands down her face.

"Go to Hell!" Sam shouts.

John shakes his head, "I should have never taken you along in the first place. I know it was a mistake!"

"Oh My God!" Athena raises her voice and pushes herself off the wall. She walks toward the hospital. "Can we please focus on something more impor--"

Athena trips over her foot and falls forward. She hits the table and knocks over the glass of water before falling to the floor. Athena lets out a groan, "Fiddlesticks..."

The three-man snap their eyes over to the glass of water that was now shattered on the ground.

"What the hell?" Dean mutters.

Athena looks at the water on the ground and her eyes widen. "Wait..." she stands up. "...Oh my..." she looks at her hand and waves it. "Did I do that?!"

Suddenly a wall of pain, slams into Athena's body and she stumbles back. Athena knits her brows together and touches her stomach. Athena attempts to take a deep breath, but pain flares into her body. Her stomach turns in such a painful manner that it causes Athena to fall to her knees. She lets out a small cry and her breathing quickens.

The three men see the nurses rushing down the hall with urgency.

"Something's going on out there." John states.

Sam and Dean turn to their dad and he motions for them to check it out. The brothers sprint out of the room. Athena inhales a deep breath and forces herself to stand up. She stumbles out of John's room. The girl slowly makes her way to the room Sam and Dean were standing in the doorway of.

"No, no, no, come on, Athena," Sam whispers.

Dean stays silent with his jaw clenched and his heartbeat drowning out his hearing. Athena leans against the wall and she pokes her head into the room, her eyes landing on the nurses trying to resuscitate Athena back to life. Athena pulls her brows together, feeling a cold threaded line shoot down her spine.

Athena squeezes her eyes shut and opens them again. Her heart drops into her stomach, seeing a spirit looming over her lifeless body. Athena's eyes widen, "H-Hey!"

Athena stumbles into the room, her knees buckle, and she falls to the ground. She quietly cries and lifts her head up with exhaustion. Athena grits her teeth and anger slowly creeps through her body. Her body starts to get hot and she feels herself instinctively twitch. "Get..." she forces herself onto her feet.

"...the hell away from my body!" Athena snaps.

The spirit reaches its hand into Athena's chest and tears well in her eyes. "No! Leave me alone!" she snaps, her eyes flickering.

The lights in the room begin to flicker, catching Sam and Dean's attention.

"I SAID GET BACK!!!"

A voice echoes through Dean's ears and he pulls his brows together. "Sam--"

"I heard it too," Sam says, his eyes wide.

Athena inhales a deep breath, she lunges forward and hoping to grab the spirit. And she did. Athena's eyes widen and she exhales a sharp breath. The spirit spins around, forcing Athena to fly back into the wall. Athena lets out a groan and slides to the floor. The spirit speeds out of the room and Athena leans her head against the wall.

"I'm way too young to be flung around like this..." Athena presses her hands against her knees and stands up. She feels the pain in her body slowly start to ease and the girl exhales a sharp breath. Athena runs out of the room and sprints after the spirit.

"We have a pulse." The nurse states. "We're back into sinus rhythm."

Sam and Dean simultaneously let out a chuckle of relief. Dean wipes the tears from his eyes and steps away from the door, allowing the nurses to leave the room.

"You felt that chill, right?" Sam asks, looking at his older brother.

Dean slowly nods his head. "Yeah..." he meets Sam's eyes. "Do you think it was her?"

"That's my only guess." Sam bunches his shoulders.

Athena walks back toward her brothers and she was breathing loudly. "I...I can't..." she shakes her head and places her hands on her hips. "...even almost dead, I can't run."

Athena leans against the wall and inhales a deep breath. "I know...one thing...I could grab it which means I could kill it."

Athena then pulls her brows together, thinking. Her jaw goes slack and she throws her head back with a whine. "I have to hunt something on my own?!"

"If it was Athena..." Sam folds his arms. "...there is one way we could talk to her."

Dean raises his brows, "Okay, I'm all ears."

"Let's go. I'll explain on the way." Sam walks away with Dean.
