Rebekah Vardy had invited Maggie Montez to attend the first Leicester home game of the season against Wolves. Of course, Maggie accepted, excited to see the team back in action after a long summer break.
Maggie had agreed to meet up with Rebekah at the stadium at the time that she had to drop Jamie off for the match, meaning that they would have hours to kill before kick off.
"Hey." Rebekah Vardy smiled as she saw her friend pull into the 'friends and family' car park of the King Power Stadium. Rebekah had a few of her kids with her, the others either being with their grandparents or with their other parent.
"Hey." Maggie smiled back before approaching the brunette who was still talking to her husband.
Maggie hung back a little, not wanting to interrupt or eavesdrop on what could be a private conversation between the couple however, she did stand and watch them, her enjoyment of people watching taking over her.
"Hey Mags." Without knowing what was happening, a smile crossed the brunette girl's face as she heard Ben's voice approaching her.
Once he was by her side, she surprised him by giving him a side hug as a greeting. Despite having hugged a lot when Maggie visited him at his house a few weeks ago, he didn't think that she liked him enough to continue to hug him. Ben was convinced that it was a one time thing since she was so upset but he pushed the thoughts to the side and gave her a hug back.
"Did you come to support Vards or are you actually a Leicester fan?" Ben questioned. He knew that he should be getting inside the stadium to check out the pitch, check in with the physios and make sure he was there for the warm up but he couldn't help but want to stay and talk to the girl that he had gotten to know over the past month or so.
"I've always liked football since it was my Mum's favourite sport," The footballer watched as her eyes lit up at the memory of her mum. She didn't talk about her often so he didn't really know why she wasn't in the picture but he chose not to question it.
"She always had a soft spot for Leicester so I guess I do too." She finished and Ben admired how she had opened up to him properly for the first time. He hadn't pried and she appreciated that. Maggie felt like she could open up to ben and she just hoped that it wouldn't come back and bite her later on.
"Besides, I've got to support my new favourite Leicester player." Ben felt his heart flutter when she winked at him. He didn't know why because despite having shown her how good the world could be, he knew that she wasn't likely to date.
"I can tell that you're getting antsy so good luck out there." Without thinking, she leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek, leaving him stunned as she walked towards Rebekah who had let Jamie go inside a few minutes ago.
"Want to explain what all that flirting was about?" Rebekah held the hands of the two children that had accompanied her to the match and Maggie rolled her eyes.
"It wasn't flirting. I was being friendly. Learn the difference." Maggie was getting defensive, scared that she had accidentally flirted with Ben and given him the wrong impression. She knew that there was a reason why she was always cold towards people.
"I know the difference. I'm married, remember?" The younger brunette rolled her eyes at her friend, wishing that she would drop the subject.
"You're useless at flirting." Rebekah joked, sensing how agitated Maggie was becoming on the topic.
"I'm not completely useless. I can always serve as a bad example. Right, kids?" The two kids cheered and agreed with Maggie, not really knowing what she was talking about. The tanned girl raised her eyebrows at Rebekah, proving a point to her as she walked away, making a quick toilet stop before the game.

The end result was a goalless draw and Maggie could sense the disappointment in the team.
Rebekah and Maggie met up with the team after the game and instead of heading over to see Jamie like she usually did, she found herself wandering over to ben.
"Hey, good game." Maggie's voice was soft, trying to cheer up the obviously disappointed Ben Chilwell that was standing in front of her.
"You don't have to lie, Mags. We were bad. No goals and only one point. Great start to the season!" His tone was sarcastic and she frowned, not liking how negative he was being. That was her role and he was stealing her thunder.
"You didn't concede anything so you must be pretty solid and a point is better than none." She slapped his shoulder which was rock hard, trying to get him to see the positives of the game.
"You sound like me. Who knew you could be so positive?" Ben lifted his gaze from his shoes up to her face, seeing a smile on her face as he spoke those words, a faint smile crossing his face at the sight.
"I know. look at what you've done!" He laughed with her, slinging his arm over her shoulders. he waited for her to remove it but she didn't. instead of tensing up like he expected her to, she moved closer to him. Maggie enjoyed contact with Ben. She enjoyed the comfort that he made her feel and she liked how safe he made her feel. She didn't know why he made her feel those things but he did.
"Get together at mine tonight. Who's coming? Pizza and beers are on me." James announced to his team, hearing a chorus of cheers from all the guys and their partners.
"You coming?" Ben looked down at the smaller girl, seeing a smile on her face. Today was definitely the smiliest that he had seen her and he loved it.
"Am I invited?" She asked, unsure since she wasn't a member of the team or a 'WAG' so she didn't know if the invitation extended to her.
"Of course you are. If you're not, you can be my plus one." The brunette boy offered, walking Maggie back to her car, his arm still around her shoulders.
"Okay, I'll come." Her smile faltered a little when Ben removed his arm from her shoulders, already missing his contact.
"You remember where you're going, right?" Ben checked, watching as Maggie nodded her head.
"See you in a bit." Ben had been debating on whether or not he should do it but he decided to go for it. He leaned down and pressed his lips to her cheek softly, letting them linger there for a few seconds before turning around and leaving before she had a chance to protest.
Maggie smiled as soon as she sat in the driver's seat of her car, her hands reaching up to touch the spot where Ben's lips had touched. His stubble had scratched her skin ever so slightly but she didn't mind. Maggie's olive skin felt like it was on fire and her stomach felt giddy.
She didn't know why she felt like this or why Ben had this effect on her but she liked it. A lot.
