CHAPTER TWELVE

REAL LIFE

LUNA HAD PRACTICALLY just started her stream. She had minimal plans for the day, which was fine. Currently, she was planning on just talking to her chat and watching some YouTube videos until she had to play Valorant with Foolish, Tina, Sykkuno, and Miyoung. Considering her stream started about five minutes ago, she was in the talking to her chat portion, catching up with her community and waiting for some more people to roll in.

"No, I'm telling you guys, Better Than the Movies was actually one of the best books I have ever read," Luna announced, moving some of her hair off of her shoulder to rest on her back. "But, honestly, I could just be saying that because I'm a sucker for a good romance novel. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm such a Lix Buxbaum. Either way, I highly recommend." She cleared her throat for a moment, watching her chat agree with her or say that they'll add it to their reading list. "I actually have a lot of books that I want to read. Jodi, aka QuarterJade, actually gave me a whole list of books when she saw my Tweet asking for recommendations, which was so sweet. I fucking love that girl. Jodi's the best."

Luna paused for a moment, waiting for new messages. As she did so, her heart warmed. Of course, Luna got her fair share of hate — it was standard now in the industry she was in. However, her chat was mostly so welcoming and nice to her, her friends, and the new people who happened to show up. It was probably the most rewarding thing about streaming.

"You should play with Jodi more," Luna read out loud. "I want to. That would be so much fun. If it's Valorant though . . . she would definitely frag out, and I would be her cheerleader. I'll be her pocket Sage."

Through her headphones, interrupting her slightly, came the sound of her alert, saying that someone just subscribed with their Twitch Prime. Luna glanced over at the sound, and smiled softly once she saw who it was from and the message with it.

"Hi, Foosh," Luna greeted. "Thanks for the Prime."

At once, her chat went absolutely crazy. They spammed Foolish's name with a ton of emotes, mostly of them showing their love. That was another thing about Luna and Foolish's friendship — their respective chats loved each other. Foolish's chat would spam whenever Luna showed up and vice versa. Luna even recalled once that she saw someone from her chat met some of their best friends from Foolish's chat. Words couldn't describe how happy it made Luna to see that their friendship caused friendships.

"What'd you do today?" Luna continued. "I haven't seen you at all today, so it's glad to see that you're still alive."

"In the rain?" Luna joked, giggling slightly. "And thank you for the sub, I appreciate it."

She snuck a glance at her chat, only for her face to start to feel warm. They were spamming Luna and Foolish's names with hearts, how Foolish was a simp because he was gifting her so many subs, and how cute they were. Her mods obviously were watching for the weird comments, but so far, it was pretty wholesome. Luna inwardly took a deep breath to try and control the redness that was definitely painting her face.

Luna sighed in exasperation. "Foolish, enough. Thank you, I appreciate it, but it's too much. You're at, like, eight right now." 24.95

"Foolish," Luna stated, even though her heart was beating impossibly fast against her chest. "I will ban you from my channel, I swear to God. Mods, get his ass." She laughed for a moment. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. But Foolish, please, you really don't have to. Let's just chill out for a moment, maybe take a deep—"

She was, once again, cut off by another alert. However, this one was different, because it was the one she had set for when she got gifted a large amount of subs. It never really sounded, but now it was.

Luna's mouth fell slightly open in shock. She looked at her chat in shock, who were spamming a multitude of emotes, mostly all of the love ones. Foolish had just spent well over five hundred dollars of subs on her, practically just to talk to her when Discord or texting was literally right there. Luna didn't know what the absolute fuck was going on, but she did know that it made her already stupidly big crush on him even bigger.

"I . . ." Luna trailed off, words completely failing her. "I don't even know what to say." Luna let out a small laugh of just complete and utter amazement. "Foosh, thank you for the hundred subs. I love you dearly, but get the fuck out of my chat before I strangle you. No more subs, you hear? Or else . . ." She raised her fist, shaking it very non-threatening at the camera. "You're gonna fucking get it. Watch your back, shark boy."

She giggled once before leaning back in her chair, trying to calm herself from the high she was feeling right now. Her chat was still going a million miles per minute, but Luna caught sight of a message before it was deleted by a mod. It read oh girl, he's into you. Luna paused for a moment, tilting her head just ever so slightly. Foolish had wanted her attention, and he was literally giving her money for it. Could that be a fucking sign?

Nope. Definitely not. Luna was probably just delusional. But what else was new, right? Always the foolish one. (Pun not intended.)
