BEING SHAKEN AWAKE IS NOT EXACTLY HOW GRACE PICTURED HER MORNING STARTING. She didn't even want to open her eyes as the blinds had been pulled open so the bright sun burned into her skin. Whoever it was better be ready to lose something because she was ready to absolutely murder the person pushing her. "Girl, get your ass up." Hayley's voice can be heard, clear as day as she slaps the girls back. Grace groans as she kicks a little bit but not too hard because she didn't want to risk hitting Hayleys stomach.

"Stop it." She demands in a tired voice as she keeps her eyes closed for a second longer before she rolls onto her back, meeting Hayleys gaze.

"I didn't ask you to come here so you could sleep all day." Hayley says as she crosses her arms against her chest. Grace only rolls her eyes as she yawns.

"No, you just decide to stay here where there's constant danger and threats." Grace points out as it seemed like every single second, there was something going wrong in this city. "Can we have one day of peace?" She asks as that was all she asked for. The rest of her life could be chaos and she wouldn't care. Grace just needed one day.

"Yes." Hayley responds and Grace smiles, closing her eyes again but is suddenly hit with a pillow. "But not today." She finishes as Grace opens her eyes again, a deathly glare settled on her face as she clenches her jaw.

"Did something already happen?" Grace questions as she couldn't imagine what could've possibly occurred while she had been sleeping.

"Already? It's one pm." Hayley says with furrowed eyebrows as it's already been half of the day.

"Sill early." She mumbles back with a shrug as she rubs her forehead.

"A witch killed two daywalkers." Hayley tells her and Grace raises her eyebrows, just simply nodding her head.

"Ooh, that's cool." Grace responds and Hayley just stared at her with a confused expression. Grace rolls her eyes as she sighs. "Oh, am I supposed to go, boo hoo blood sucking vampires are dead?" She asks, Grace really didn't care if vampires died since they probably killed people anyways. It's not exactly a loss, losing people who literally have to feed on human blood to survive.

"Just get up." Hayley tells her and Grace only groans as she stares up at the ceiling. Hayley was one of the only people who were allowed to tell her what to do. The list consisted of her and Jenna.

"Yes, mom." Grace mutters as she rolls her eyes playfully. Hayley makes her way to the door, but not before turning her head again, seeing if Grace was at least making an effort to get up.

"I'll be waiting downstairs." She states and Grace only nods her head, stuffing her face into the pillow to drown out the bright light.

"Okay." She replies, beginning to close her eyes when something is thrown at her head. Grace snaps her head up, seeing that Hayley had chucked a clock from off of the table near her.

"Don't you dare go back to sleep." Hayley threatens and grace just glares at her as she sits up, rubbing her eyes.

"You're so demanding." She mumbles as she gets up from the bed. Hayley only laughs at her, causing the blonde to stick up her middle finger before dragging herself into the bathroom to get ready.

GRACE MAKES HER WAY DOWN INTO THE COURTYARD, seeing Elijah with his back turned to her. She walks over to him, running her finger along his back, to the front of his chest. "Hey, sexy suit man."ย  Grace says with a smirk on her face but Elijah just stared down at her with a unamused glance. She saw he was on the phone making her press her lips together tightly. "Not the time for jokes.." She trails off as she glanced towards her feet. As Hayley walks over to them, Elijah brings his phone down.

"Rebekah is not answering her calls." Elijah states making them both look at him, both concerned and a little bit confused.

"You worried about whoever killed those daywalkers still being out there?" Hayley suggests as the thought of Rebekah being held by the person came across her mind. But it was hard to picture anyone getting the upper hand on the original.

"Frankly, I'm worried that she had something to do with this." Elijah says and Grace only looks a little surprised. Sure, she knew how she was helping Davina but doing this was a whole nother thing. "She's very displeased with Niklaus. Perhaps even conspiring..." He trails off as his eyes looking around the courtyard until they land on Thierry, who had recently been released from the dungeon. "With others." Elijah says as he starts walking over to the vampire. "Thierry, is it?" He asks, raising an eyebrow as he looks down at him.

"That's right." Thierry responds, a little bit wary as he glanced between the group.

"You know, my sister is rather fond of you. Strange, she's not typically drawn to unremarkable men." Elijah says as he looks down at the man who only sighs, glancing away from him. "Would you care to explain your sudden magnetism?" He asks as he raises an eyebrow at the vampire.

"I don't know what you're-" Thierry goes to deny but Elijah grabs a hold of him, speeding them over to the wall in the hallway, roughly pushing him up against it. Hayley and Grace quickly rush over to them.

"You can either tell me what you know or I can distribute tiny pieces of you throughout the quarter." Elijah threatens as he glares at Thierry.

"She asked me to keep an eye out on the witch stuff. I found something and when I showed her we were jumped by some guy." Thierry explains to him frantically and Elijah only furrows his eyebrows. "He desiccated her with his touch." He states, obviously shocked because his eyes were wide. But then again, not many witches could do that to someone, especially an original.

"Like a coward, you left her." Elijah says, his grip tightening on him.

"Typical man." Grace says as she shakes her head, looking very disappointedly at Thierry who was just looking back at her confused.

"What was I supposed to do, fight some warlock that took out an original?" Thierry asks with a scoff, there was no way he would even be able to lay a hand on the warlock before he was killed.

"Where was this exactly?" Hayley asks as she squints her eyes at the vampire.

"The docks. Warehouse fifty seven." Thierry tells them before his eyes move to Elijah. "I was just doing what she asked. You cannot tell Klaus about this." He states and Elijah simply stared at him, nodding his head before he throws him across the hall and into the wall. Thierry lands on the ground unconscious.

"I shall take that into consideration." Elijah says as he wipes his hand on his suit before meeting the women's eyes. Grace only had a smirk on her lips, her hand placed on her waist.

"Maybe I do like you after all." Grace states as she points her finger at him and Elijah was a little bit confused by her comment.

"When have you not liked me?" He asks curiously.

"Quite a few times actually." Grace retorts as she shrugs her shoulders. He was an original, obviously there would be times where she disliked him.

"I'm coming with you." Hayley says as she watches Elijah about to walk away. The man sighs as he shakes his head, turning to face the werewolf.

"No. Stay here. Compound is safe." Elijah tells her as he didn't need her getting into harms way. Grace nods her head in agreement, no way was Hayley about to go out where the murderous witches were.

"Yeah, he's not the pregnant one. You are." Grace points out as it seemed that Hayley missed the obvious reason why elijah wanted her to stay behind.

"Rebekah is in trouble. I'm going." Hayley says as she crosses her arms against her chest. She goes to walk by Elijah but he grabs her arm, pulling her towards him.

"Do not leave my sight, you understand?" Elijah says as he stares down at Hayley and she only nods her head. "Both of you." He adds as he gives a sharp look to Grace who only smirks, raising an eyebrow at him. If he believes that she was going to let him save her like some knight in shining armour, he had another thing coming.

"I can handle myself, sexy suit man." Grace states as she brushes her hand along his chest as she walks by him. Elijah only raises an eyebrow at Hayley who just shakes her head, silently telling him to not start to conversation otherwise it would be endless. Plus, Hayley really didn't want to hear Grace flirting with the man.

THEY MADE IT TO THE DOCK, rushing into the container and looking around until they saw the originals body laid in a circle in the middle of the floor. Grace gasps as she sees the girl, her eyes widening lightly. "Rebekah." Elijah says softly as they all rush towards her only to be held back by an invisible force. Grace furrows her eyebrows as she holds her hand up, pushing against the force field that was blocking them from entering the circle.

"What's happening?" Hayley asks confused as she glanced around, seeing that there was no one else in the container.

"Some kind of boundary spell." Elijah tells them with a sigh as he clenches his jaw. "Someone's channeling her. Typically, its a lethal process but because she's an original, she cannot die." He explains to them, shaking his head as he knew this wasn't good. "Instead, she's an endless source of power." He states and Grace groans, of course her day had to start out like this. When would she ever just have a normal day. Well, probably when she goes back to New York.

"So, what are we supposed to do?" Hayley asks as she was confused how they would help Rebekah if they couldnt even reach her.

"You have to get her out of there." Elijah says as he turns to her before taking out his phone and dialing someone's number.

"Who's doing this? I thought the witches would lose their power since the harvest didn't work?" Grace asks as she thought that since the girls weren't resurrected, that the whole thing didn't work. Maybe she was wrong, she obviously didn't know much.

"I don't know." Elijah admits as it was still a mystery to him aswell. "Sophie. We need your help. Rebekah is trapped in some sort of pentagram circle and we cannot get her out." He tells her as he holds the phone to his ear.

"Can't you break it?" Sophie asks as you could usually draw a line to break the seal. But Elijah only sighs, rubbing his forehead.

"You're not listening, we cannot enter the circle, there's some sort of confinement spell. If I can't remove her, we can't break the link." Elijah explains to the witch as he paces back and forth.

"It's a convoluted spell. It's like a witches recipe. You can spoil the balance by adding a more potent ingredient, a mystical binding agent-- I don't know- Volcanic ash, rock salt, anything up to and including eye of newt." Sophie tells him and as elijah listens, his eyes move over to Hayley, obviously something clicking in his mind.

"What about the blood of a witch?" Elijah asks and he heard the small pause before Sophie answered him.

"Do you have the blood of a witch?" She questions, wondering where he would get it but elijah just hangs up the phone, meeting Hayleys eyes.

"I need a favour." He tells her and Hayley already knew what he was going to ask. It was obvious to her whenever he said the blood of a witch.

"The baby." Hayley says with a nod as her hand was placed on her stomach. She glanced down, sighing a little bit. "She's a quarter witch." She states and Grace looks back and forth between them, not really sure about this.

"Are you sure it's safe?" Grace asks the original who nods his head but Hayley only gives her a comforting smile as she holds up her arm to Elijah.

"It'll be fine." Hayley assures her before meeting elijahs eyes and giving him a nod. With that, Elijah bites into her arm before releasing her and holding it over the circle.
The blood drips onto the white substance, letting off a little smoke as it burned.

After a moment, Elijah moves his arm over and when it passed the threshold, he sped in and took Rebekah. He sped back out, returning to his spot beside the two girls. Grace looks down at the dessicated original, knowing that if this was any other vampire, she wouldn't be waking up.

"Is gonna be okay?" Grace asks curiously and Elijah nods his head.

"She just needs blood to heal." Elijah tells her and Grace bites the inside of her cheek. She glanced down at her wrist, debating it in her head. But she knew when Rebekah was finally aware, that she could stop herself.

"Here." Grace holds up her arm to Elijah who only hesitantly looks at her. He grabs her arm slowly but he only looks towards Hayley. Grace sighs, knowing that he was wary of letting her be the blood source. "Do it." She says with a nod and Elijah bites into her wrist making Grace let out a small gasp. He pulls away before bringing her wrist to Rebekah's lips. The blood drops onto the girls grey skin and it's a few seconds before Rebekah slowly latches onto the girls wrist. Grace grimaces as she tries to hide the pain that was evidently showing on her face.

Rebekah's hand comes up to clutch her arm, the colour restoring back into her face as she drinks from the girl. Grace could feel it taking a toll on her body but she doesn't say anything. Rebekahs eyes open, seeing the blonde above her and she immediately stops feeding, pulling her mouth away. The blood dribbles down the side of her lips. Grace gives a soft smile as she brings her free hand to her wrist, covering the wound.

She could tell that Rebekah felt a little bit guilty but the original also knew that Grace wouldn't have let her feed if she didn't want her to. Grace only grabs a hold of the girls hand, giving it a squeeze. She honestly just cared that the woman was okay

GRACE WAS LOUNGING ON THE COUCH, finishing off her glass of wine as she had practically emptied the bottle in front of her. She knew she shouldn't drink so much since she wasn't exactly at full strength, but Grace needed it. She could handle the extra woozyness she would feel from the alcohol taking more effect. Her eyes move to the door where she sees Elijah making his way through.

"Elijah." She says as she rests against the back of the couch. Grace smiles up at him, closing her eyes for a moment. "Come to join me?" Grace asks him and Elijah gives a soft smile in return before putting his hands in his pockets.

"Just checking in on you." Elijah admits and Grace nods her head, her eyes moving down to the bandage around the bite marks on her wrist.

"I'm fine." She tells him as he moves closer to her, his eyes seeing the wine bottle before they move back to her.

"I could give you some blood to heal you." Elijah was more talking about the wound but he wouldn't mind also sobering her up a little bit.

"I said I'm fine, Elijah." Her tone was a little more sharp and she hadn't meant it to be, she just didn't want to be healed by vampire blood. Because that implies the chance of her being turned into one, and Grace never wanted to become a vampire. Even if it saved her life. "I don't want your blood." She tells him and Elijah nods his head, fully understanding without even needing ask why.

"Your sister is rather stubborn, isn't she?" He asks as he sits down next to her. Grace laughs, nodding her head. Hayley could definitely push against certain things, like how when she wouldn't stay at the compound earlier.

"Yes, she is." She replies as she smiles. "But I love that about her. She doesn't let anyone walk all over her." Grace states as that was one of the many things that Hayley had learned from observing her all of these years. Hayley always saw this badass, fearless girl standing up to so many men and adults. When in reality, Grace knew that she was actually quite the opposite.

"I suppose you taught her that?" Elijah questions as it was clear where Hayley learned most of her attitude from.

"Don't you know it." Grace responds with a smirk making Elijah smile back at her. "So, what's on your mind, sexy suit man?" She asks as she points her finger to her head. Elijah only squints his eyes, an amused expression on his face.

"Is that my new nickname?" Elijah asks as she had called him it quite a few times now. Grace shrugs her shoulders, her eyes running over him for a moment.

"Your sexy and you always wear a suit. It fits." She states as she runs her finger along his tie for a moment.

"You really are a flirt." Elijah says as he smiles to himself, looking down at his lap for a moment. Grace giggles as she shrugs her shoulders.

"Well, how else will I bend all the men to my will?" Grace tells him and Elijah only shakes his head, chuckling. Grace rests her head against her hand.

She made the observation that men will do many things for you, but only in return for one thing. Sex. So, Grace would just make empty promises and they would usually do whatever she wanted. Although, sometimes men just fell for her charm and wanted to do what she told them to anyways.

"I see you have Niklaus already wrapped around your finger." He states and Grace just raises an eyebrow, she was a little confused by Elijah's comment as she got the exact opposite of a vibe from the hybrid.

"Klaus doesn't listen to anyone." Grace points out as she shakes her head, knowing Klaus only does what he wants, when he wants. He didn't really care for what anyone else had to say. "But I can be very persuasive when I wanna be." She admits as she bats her eyelashes, smirking over at the original.

"Is that what you call it?" Elijah asks as he squints his eyes are her. Grace nods her head, moving towards him slightly.

"Mhm." Grace says as she tilts her head. "Although, I mainly just lead the men on so they think they're gonna get something in return for doing what I ask but they don't." She explains to him and Elijah couldn't help but laugh at this. For a lawyer, he would think that she would be way more honest.

"So, your promises mean nothing?" Elijah asks as he raises an eyebrow at her. Grace only smirks as she shrugs her shoulders.

It wasn't like all her promises were meaningless. Just the ones that she gave to men who were not exactly bright, or were the ones that genuinely pissed her off. Why would she do anything for a man like that? No, she would use him and then just continue on with her life.

"Not to all men." Grace corrects him and Elijah just squints his eyes at her. She leans towards him, tilting her head as she puts her finger on his chest. "Just to the ones I'm not attracted to." She admits as she runs her finger down before pulling it away with a smile. Elijah just nods his head slowly, watching the girl twirl her hair around her finger.

"Hm." He hums as he simply stares back at her. Grace runs a hand through her hair before she stands up from the couch.

"Now, I'm going to go to bed." She tells him as she places her glass on the table. "Because I do not want to encounter some witch when I care barely think straight." Grace admits as that would not exactly go well. Elijah gives a soft smile, nodding his head at her.

"All right." He replies as he watches her take a step but of course she stumbled. Elijah quickly reaches out to grab a hold of her waist but Grace only looks at him, grabbing his hands.

"I can walk." She says as she moves his hands but not before giving him a flirtatious smirk. "Unless you needed an excuse to touch me." Grace says in a sultry voice as she gazes down at him. Elijah licks his bottom lip as he only playfully rolls his eyes.

"Go to sleep, Grace." Elijah tells her as he keeps his hands hovering over her in case she fell again. Grace nods, leaning down towards him slightly and she could see the way the man tensed.

"As you wish, darling." She replies as she brushes her finger along his jawline before winking and walking away from the man. Elijah only sits there for a moment longer, feeling the remnants of her touch. He just shakes his head, clearing his throat as he cleans up the wine bottle and glass that she had left behind.

ELIJAH NOTICED HIS BROTHER STANDING ON THE PATIO. Glancing around, he walks over to Klaus, resting his arms on the railing. Klaus glanced at him before returning his eyes back down to the courtyard. "Done with your speech, Niklaus?" He asks as the man had given a speech to the vampires in the quarter. Of course, telling them to pledge their loyalty or leave. Elijah was surprised that it took him this long to even do it.

"What would you know of it? Seems like you had company." Klaus retorts as he keeps his voice blunt, clenching his jaw. Elijah furrows his eyebrows before letting a slight chuckle leave his lips when he realized what Klaus meant. He turns to the man, tilting his head.

"If you are referring to grace, I was simply checking up on her." Elijah tells the man who only turns to meet his gaze, not particularly looking happy.

"And that requires flirting?" Klaus asks as he raises an eyebrow at his brother. Elijah only squints his eyes as he carefully examines the man. "Here I am, thinking you were interested in Hayley when in fact, it's the other sister." He says, tilting his head with a small smirk on his lips. But Elijah had known the man for centuries, he could pick up on certain tones and facial expressions.

"Careful, Niklaus. You're starting to sound jealous." Elijah retorts, humour in his voice as he puts his hands in his pockets. Klaus only scoffs, shaking his head but his eyes move down to the ground.

"Why would I be jealous?" Klaus questions as he brings his arms up to cross over his chest. Elijah only takes a step forward, a smirk playing on his lips as he knew he could easily taunt his brother.

"Because she flirts with me and not you." He states, raising an eyebrow as he sees the way his brother tenses. "She seems to like me but with you, it's quite the opposite." Elijah says as Klaus brings his eyes back up and Elijah could see the sliver of anger in them. "I wonder who's fault that is." He ponders, glancing up for a moment before meeting his brothers gaze again. Klaus could feel his fists clench but he just lets out a deep breath.

"I've been the perfect gentleman to her, thank you very much." Klaus responds as he has been more polite to her in the past few days than he has to Rebekah in the past year. "And if you want her, have her. I could care less." He sneers as he pushes past the man, beginning to walk away but Elijah only chuckles, knowing he got under his skin.

"I think you do care, though." Elijah says, smiling to himself before turning to face Klaus' back. He could see his brother clench his fists, meaning he was probably close. "I can see it in the way you look at her everytime you see her." He states, even Rebekah had seen the way Klaus had gazed at her. It seemed every single time the man crossed paths with Grace, he would stare at her with this dazzled expression.

"Is that so?" Klaus asks as he turns back to face his brother again. Elijah only bites the inside of his cheek as he takes a step forward.

"Perhaps if you stopped trying to control everyone and self-sabotaging yourself. You could actually let those feelings in." Elijah tells him as Klaus walks back over to him. Klaus just lets out a scoff as he rolls his eyes but he couldn't help but laugh a little bit.

"Well, like you said. She seems to like you." He points out with a shrug of his shoulders as Elijah only stares at him. "One brother is enough, don't you think?" Klaus asks as he perks an eyebrow up at his brother who just clenches his jaw. Elijah could hear his tone, although klaus would like to believe he was hiding his jealousy. It was still slipping out. "Go ahead, ravish her like you want to." He says, his voice sharp as he squints his eyes, a smug, yet harsh, expression on his face. Elijah sighs as he licks his bottom lip.

"Niklaus-" Elijah goes to interject, knowing he was making these comments to try and push the thought of the girl out of his mind. But he saw the way Klaus smirked at him, only tilting his head.

"Although she doesn't have a particular liking towards sleeping with men, so have fun with that." Klaus states, patting the man's shoulder before moving past him. Elijah just clenches his jaw, turning his head to watch his brother walk away. He didn't know why Klaus always needed to hide his feelings. Maybe it was the fear of rejection. Maybe it was the fear to let himself be vulnerable around someone.

Either way, Elijah knew his brother took a particular liking towards Grace. He didn't know why since he hasn't really fancied anyone in a while. But Grace was smart and cunning and knew how to get people on her side. Perhaps, he saw some qualities of himself in her. Or maybe it was just the fact that she didn't fall to his knees like every other woman.

Elijah had a feeling that sooner or later, they were either going to finally become friends, or tear each other apart.
