~IVANDOR~

The next week of school was moving too quick. A lot came with it apparently. Well, some things still stayed the same - like Giwa not even batting an eyelid in my direction, yes. But, ofcourse, some other things changed. I mean, it's unlikely to have a 'normal' week in Castron High.

Well, it all started with speculating rumors of Shade Onam's birthday party. Ofcourse, I had gotten used to that rumor that usually sparked this time of the year. Word also had it that the principal was getting sacked. Reason unknown. Worse still, I heard the new principal was going to be a member of the school's disciplinary committee and the first thing on his list? Banning social evening apparently. So convenient.

However, that wasn't even the thing that took me off guard this week. Not even close.

Well, as of recent, my boy, Yure, was now becoming_

"An Internet sensation!?" Nova's voice boomed as he stared into the screen of his phone, completely clearing me out of my thoughts.

Yeah, what he said.

I adjusted myself on the seat I was on, next to Yure. Nova sat closely, on the railing of the large window railing by us. It was a little past 7:30 in the morning, and the three of us were in the School hall, getting ready for the morning assembly to commence.

"Dude! Your videos are getting mad attention!!" Nova continued, as he scrolled down his phone, a pleasantly shocked look on his face.

"And Prissy Waje is reposting everywhere, guy!" He added, still wide eyed in excitement, as he kept scrolling down his feed.

"Assembly will soon start." Yure's response was rather dry and failing to equate Nova's excitement.

I raised a brow at the kid by me and he straightened up, cleared his throat.

"You good?" I wanted to make sure.

He responded something I didn't hear. His voice came up in an almost muffled tone as he rubbed the back of his neck.

One thing was certain. Something about what Nova said made him uncomfortable. It was so clear that Yure was trying to avoid talking about his awakened music journey. I could clearly see he was nervous. I just didn't understand why.

"Ella will soon climb stage." Yure even added, as he gestured to the Chapel prefect girls, who I saw was now standing up from a seat by the staff corner, looking like she would come up to the stage to commence the assembly properly any moment soon.

Nice way to dead the topic, bro. I mentally saluted Yure.

Yure was clearly uncomfortable. It was too obvious that his music was a sensitive topic for him. It almost even looked to me like there was even more to it than just his music. For one, I've always been certain Yure was hiding something from all of us. But that was okay, I guess. Everybody's got secrets, right?

"Nova, are you staying here with us?" Yure asked Nova particularly, as he seemed to be the one opening that chapter of his life he was not ready to talk about with us yet.

Way to chase him away, Yure.

Well, Nova, ofcourse, wasn't a prefect. So actually, he had no business at the moment, sitting where we were with us.

We were by the entrance of the hall - where Yure and Giwa should have been staying during assemblies, since they were the Head Prefects. Nova chose to come around and make himself comfortable by the railing of the window.

"Dude, why you dey dodge anyhow??" Nova taunted Yure. I only laughed to myself and shook my head at the boys. But, in all honesty, someone actually needed to ask Yure why he kept running away from talking to us about his music.

"One question though.." I spoke up, getting both Yure and Nova's attention adruptly.

"Who's your videographer, Yure?" I popped the question. It needed to be asked. For all I knew, Yure was an only child and all his cousins were abroad. Still, the videos he had been posting the entire week looked very professional. It definitely wasn't self made. Someone was helping out.

I looked at Yure and my brows formed together in suspicion as I noticed the growing discomfort on his face.

My question seemed to shake tables apparently?

I only thought to myself; What on earth is going on with this guy?

~YURE~

No, Prissy and I hadn't been intimate the entire week now. We'd only been meeting strictly because of my music alone.

Still, I wasn't ready to start explaining how and why it was Prissy, of all people, who was helping me with my videos. I mean, the boys and I have never really been particularly close to any other girl in Giwa's clique, asides Shade Onam.

"Dude?.." Nova's voice called after me.

I knew I looked nervous as hell. Screw me and my inability to keep my composure.

Ivandor's face clearly showed he knew something was up. He was downright into mr and I knew. Nova looked rather confused. And on God, if I wasn't careful, I may just give myself away in no time.

"Well, I - I - er - I.." I swear, my mouth started slurring rubbish by itself. I actually heard my stupid self start to stutter something incoherent, confusing the boys even more.

Luckily for me, no further questions were asked because at that exact time, we all got distracted by the noise of seats, colliding and moving back at the same time, feet shuffling even more noisily, and the loud voices of scared, terrified junior students who were hastily, hurriedly, jumping up from their seats, and getting on their feet like their seats were suddenly producing acid under them.

I didn't get a chance to get confused, because I immediately looked ahead to see what caused the sudden compliance from the Juniors.

Giwa Falade.

She was walking through the straight empty route that was a demarcation between the Jss1s' and Jss2s'. As as she walked down, passing through the other classes after them, each and every one of them started to stand up from their seats at once. She didn't utter a word as she moved and her face was so straight like a girl ready to kill and it almost seemed like it had the command invisibly written all over it 'stand up for the assembly now'.

That sure was a major distraction. I sure have to give it to this girl for always saving my ass from uncomfortable situations, like the one I just got myself into right now.

"What's up with you and Giwa though?" I heard Nova say. I was certain he was talking to Ivandor, and to be honest, I also wanted to know.

"I'm not sure yet." was Ivandor's basic reply.

That's when I turned to look at him.

"So you like Giwa for real? It's not a joke?" I said.

"What's the big deal if I do?" Ivandor nearly snapped back, and I backed up slightly, shocked at his defensive tone.

Wait... He wasn't even joking. This dude was really for real. He actually was having feelings for Giwa? Why.... Her?

"Are you sure she'll even answer you, guy?" Nova interrupted my thoughts. Ivandor, himself, looked unsure. Unsure of how to even answer Nova too. He barely shrugged as a reply.

"Well, if you ask me.." I said, getting both he and Nova's attention. "If you ask me, I'd advice you to chase after some other girl that's not Giwa. I mean, I don't hate the girl but if you don't want headache, drop her quietly before it's too late. Besides, Giwa doesn't even seem like someone who's thinking about having a boyfriend."

Nobody said anything after my little speech. Not Ivandor, not Nova.

I just had to let Ivandor down on his Giwa obsession... Or whatever it was. Truth be told, he low-key hadn't really given us an answer, do we couldn't be sure if he liked her, or if there was something else going onn in that head of his'. Ivandor could be strange.

Whatever the case was.. He was actually wasting his time, and with the way he just stayed quiet on his seat, and looked intently to the ground after hearing what I said, I felt he was also starting to believe he was wasting his time as well.

~GIWA~

The bell for break over went and I was walking into the Ss3 Block with some snacks wrapped up in a paper pag.

The block still seemed a bit rowdy. Some of my classmates who weren't in the school's restaurant or snack bar were still loitering around. Some of them, in little cliques, talking, laughing, and making a whole hell of noise - as usual.

"Giwa!" I heard a boy's voice call behind me. I stopped walking and turned around just to see Aaron, at the other end of the hallway. I looked to him, hoping he didn't expect me to be the one to walk over to him.

He gestured a "wait up" with his hands before leaving the group of guys he was with to literally start brisking towards me. Okay good. He's coming here. He has sense. Now, it's left for me to wonder what he wants.

He reached me, panting slightly. "Can we talk?"

My eyebrows furrowed.

"About?" I questioned him.

"Shade's birthday party next week." He answered.

I immediately sighed of frustration. Can someone just give me a break?

"I have a class, Aaron." I told him, attempting to leave.

"I know. I know.." he said, holding me back. I turned to look at him again, looking from my arm to the desperate clutch on it by his own hand. Looked back and forth it, brow slightly arched and invisible command on my face for him to let me go. The eager boy realised soon, and was quick to let me go.

"I have a plan on how to make Shade's party work." Aaron told me.

"What's the point? Shade doesn't even want the party." I said. I mean, he knew already, didn't he? He was there in my room, the day Shade and I argued about this whole party issue.

"No, but.."

"Aaron!" I cut in immediately, immediately shutting him back.

He stayed quiet and just looked at me, hesitantly holding back whatever he wanted to say.

"I have to go to class now." I dismissed the conversation.

I left Aaron after saying that and started walking to Ss3A. All I wanted to do was just reach class, sit down and eat.

That shouldn't be too much a favour to ask, should it?

I got into a completely empty class.

Wow.

Almost made me wonder if I was being too serious with this whole punctuality thing.

Anyways, I balanced on my seat.

Needless to say, I didn't even have enough time to settle properly and start with my snacks. No such luck. No such peace.

Right at that moment, Prissy burst in through the doors, running into the classroom with a dangerous urgency that jerked me in alarm. The look of terror I saw on her face jolted me up on my seat immediately. Scared the shit out of me.

Jesus Christ!
What was going on with her?

"Giwa! Giwa!" She screamed, her hands, waving frantically in the air.

"What is it!!" I exclaimed, scared to death at that point, wondering what on earth had gotten into this girl. Oh God, if this were a joke!

"Nini!! It's Nini!!" Prissy was screaming.

Hearing my little sister's name drove me up from my seat immediately. Sent electricity into my body, and my heart was beating at a dangerous pace at that point.

"What's wrong with Nini!?" I exclaimed as I rushed over to Prissy, trying to get words out of her.

"She's in my class! Ajiro and all my class girls are punishing her mercilessly!!" Prissy reported.

What the fuck?

Anger and adrenaline fuelled my system that instant. I felt it. That mad rush of fire that consumed me in my anger.

Ajiroghene, punishing my little sister?!

Without wasting another second, I moved past Prissy, who started following up behind me, running up behind me, as I walked as fast as I could to get my sister away from the hands of those Class F fools.

They had finally lost it. Those fools! They must be out if their goddamn mind!

As usual, as I got two classes close to Class F, I was already hearing the laughs and screams of those evil witches. The thought of having my little sister there at their mercy plus the sound of their shrieking laughter completely ruined me.

Class F door was closed when I got there. Still, I could hear everything from inside the class. I could clearly hear all the laughing from the Class F girls. I could hear Ajiroghene's voice screaming "We will tear you into two today!" and I could hear my little sister's voice - Nini's tiny voice - crying and wailing out loud in the most painful way ever.

I was initially stunned and paralyzed for a second. My heart tore to shreds. I was completely demoralized, my body was numb.

Then, the anger overwhelmed me again. Taking over my entire bidy and soul, and blessing me with strength from above.

I got my hands on the class door and shoved it right open, barging, storming into the class in a fit of thunderous, murderous rage.

There and then, I saw the worst scene my eyes had ever seen...
