Jade's face came into view as the live began, her casual bun and oversized cardigan giving a cozy vibe. She adjusted the camera, her focus entirely on setting up the space. In the background, a familiar male voice could be heard rummaging around.
"Is this working? Can you all hear me?" Jade asked, her attention briefly on the screen as she read comments pouring in. She didn't seem to notice the fans already catching on to who was nearby.
-Is that Mingyu's voice?!
-Not us getting boyfriend content before book content ๐ญ
-Mingyu Oppa, what are you doing there?!
Jade glanced toward the background. "Yes, that's him. He's getting ready to leave." She turned her head and called out, "Your wallet's by the door, like always!"
"Got it, thanks," Mingyu's deep voice responded. "Are you sure you don't want tea before I go?"
Jade rolled her eyes dramatically, making fans laugh. "I'm fine, go."
-Jade x Mingyu banter is peak comedy.
-Can we get Mingyu on the live?!
-Couple goals ๐ฅบ
Mingyu chuckled, and his voice grew louder as he moved closer. "Why are you waiting for me to leave? It's not like it's a secret. I can just watch this live later."
Jade scoffed, rolling her eyes again for dramatic effect. "Because you're noisy. Now shoo."
-HELP, she's so done with him ๐
-This is why they workโthey're hilarious together.
-We're here for Jade roasting Mingyu, not the book anymore!
"Alright, alright," Mingyu said, clearly amused. "Have fun with the book talk, Jagiya."
"Bye, have a good day," Jade responded with mock sweetness, waving exaggeratedly as the door clicked shut behind him. She sighed, visibly relieved. "Finally. Now we can actually focus."
-He really stole the show for a second.
-Jade's acting like she doesn't love it when he's around ๐
-Night walks when, unnie?! We need details!
Jade laughed, shaking her head. "You guys are so nosy. Fine, yes, we go on walks sometimes, but it's not that romantic. I'm usually in sweats, and he's grumbling about me not walking fast enough. Can we talk about something else now?"
Comments shifted quickly, some asking about her break. Jade smiled softly as she read. "How's my break? Honestly, I'm home a lot. Mingyu makes sure I rest properly, so I haven't been up to anything too crazy. But, no complaints! It's been nice to relax a little."
From off-screen, Mingyu's voice interrupted again, muffled but clear: "Liar! Tell them about our late-night convenience store trips."
Jade froze mid-sentence, her jaw dropping. "Why are you still here?! Go!" she shouted, waving her hand toward the door.
His laugh echoed faintly before the door clicked again. "Bye for real this time!"
-Not Mingyu coming back to spill tea ๐
-Late-night snacks sound so cute ๐ฅบ
-Jade ignoring him is my favorite dynamic!
Finally, Jade shook her head and smiled. "Okay, I swear he's gone now. Let's actually talk about the book. Did everyone read up to chapter eight? I hope so because I have thoughts, and I'm ready to share."
The mood shifted as fans began flooding the chat with their opinions on the book, the couple's antics momentarily forgotten in the shared love of their book club.
Jade adjusts her camera slightly and leans closer, holding up The Wrong Bride again. "So, let's really get into it. This book has been all over BookTok, and honestly, I couldn't resist picking it up after seeing so many people rave about it. I know that a lot of you Blinks are bookworms too, so I thought it'd be perfect for us to read together. Did anyone else find it through TikTok?"
-Yes! BookTok has been hyping it up so much.
-I didn't even know about it until you mentioned it, Jade!
-BookTok is the best for finding emotional books like this.
Jade chuckles, scrolling through the comments. "I know, right? BookTok is dangerous for my wallet. But it's also where I find most of my recommendations, so I can't complain too much."
She sets the book aside and folds her hands together. "Alright, let's talk about the story in general. For those of you who've started, how are you feeling about the characters so far? Especially Raven and Ares?"
-Raven is so sweet, but her family makes me so mad!
-Ares feels like such a mystery. I can't figure him out yet.
-Raven deserves better than her sister, honestly.
-The Windsor family traditions are so intense. I feel bad for both Raven and Ares.
Jade nods along as she reads. "Exactly! Raven is such a sweetheart, and it's heartbreaking to see how much her family takes advantage of her. Like, her mom and sister don't appreciate her at all. It's awful! I think I connected with her right away because of how kind and strong she is despite all that."
She pauses to read another comment aloud. "Ares is definitely a mystery. I wasn't sure what to think of him at first, but I feel like there's so much more to him beneath the surface. He's such a layered character. Do you all agree?"
-Yes, I think Ares is just guarded. He's dealing with so much pressure from his family.
-I'm still mad he asked to marry Hannah instead of Raven.
-He's growing on me, but he needs to step up for Raven more.
Jade laughs softly. "You're rightโAres has a lot to prove. But I think his cold exterior hides how much he actually cares. At least, I hope so. I haven't finished yet either, so don't spoil it for me!"
She leans back slightly, sipping her tea. "What about Hannah? I feel like we need to talk about her. How do we feel about her so far?"
-Hannah is SO selfish. I can't stand her.
-She treats Raven horribly, and I hate that she makes her do all the wedding planning.
-I think Hannah is dealing with her own insecurities, but that doesn't excuse how she treats Raven.
"Exactly!" Jade says, pointing at the screen. "I think you hit the nail on the head. Hannah is definitely struggling with her own issues, but it doesn't excuse the way she pushes everything onto Raven. Like, why does Raven have to do all the wedding planning when it's not even her wedding? And then the way she cancels the wedding again and again? Ugh, I was so mad reading that."
-The grandmother's ultimatum was wild. Poor Raven!
-Honestly, Ares should've just married Raven from the start.
"Right? The grandmother is so intense," Jade says, raising her eyebrows. "But at the same time, I kind of respect her for not putting up with Hannah's nonsense. Like, she wasn't wrongโHannah kept pushing the wedding back. And honestly, I think Ares and Raven were supposed to be together anyway. There's just something about their connection, you know?"
She pauses for a moment to scroll through more comments, smiling as she reads.
-The brothers are so fun! I love their dynamic with Raven.
-What would you do if you were in Raven's position?
Jade taps her chin thoughtfully. "Okay, first of all, Raven definitely had feelings for Ares from the start. I mean, they spent so much time together planning the weddingโhow could she not start liking him? And the brothers? I love them! They add so much warmth and humor to the story. I wish I had a squad like that."
She laughs at the last question. "If I were in Raven's position? Honestly, I'd probably run away and start a new life somewhere far away from all the drama. But then again, Raven is so strongโI admire her for sticking it out."
-Do you think Raven and Ares will have a happy ending?
-I love how Raven is best friends with Sierra. Their bond is so sweet!
-Jade, you should write your own book one day!
Jade's eyes widen at the last comment. "Write my own book? Oh my gosh, I wouldn't even know where to start! But maybe one day, who knows?"
Jade leans forward, propping her chin on her hand as she scans the comments. "Alright, since we've caught up a bit, let's figure out the next deadline for the chapters. Where should we stop next, Blinks? Any suggestions?"
-Chapter 15! The drama really picks up there!
-Stop at Chapter 12, it's a good mid-point.
-Chapter 20! Let's go big, unnie!
Jade chuckles, shaking her head. "Chapter 20? Are you trying to make me spend all night reading again? I barely made it to Chapter 8 this time!" She scrolls through a few more comments before nodding. "Okay, let's compromise. How about we stop at Chapter 15? It gives us enough time to really dive into the story without rushing. Sound good?"
-Yes! Chapter 15 is perfect!
-Can't wait to talk about the drama in those chapters!
-Thank you for doing this, Jade! I'm loving the book club!
Jade smiles warmly. "I'm glad you're enjoying it! Honestly, I love getting to do this with you allโit makes reading even more fun. Now, while we're on the topic of books, what are some other ones you think I should read? I'm always looking for new recommendations."
-Have you read Ana Huang's books?
-Twisted series by Ana Huang! You'd love it!
-What about King of Wrath by Ana Huang?!
Her face lights up as she sees the comments flood in. "Oh my gosh, yes! I'm such a huge fan of Ana Huang. I've read her Twisted seriesโwell, not all of them yet, but Twisted Love and Twisted Lies were so good. Her writing style just hooks you in, you know?"
She pauses, grinning. "Actually, TMI Mingyu just bought me the first book of her Kings of Sin series, King of Wrath. I finished it in four days." She raises her hands dramatically, laughing. "Four days! That's how good it was. I couldn't put it down. And after I read it, I recommended it to Youn-Jung unnie and Lisa. I think Youn-Jung might have finished it already, but Lisa's still working on it."
-Unnie, who's your favorite character in King of Wrath?
-Do you think you'd ever act in a movie based on one of Ana Huang's books?
-Vivian from King of Wrath would suit you so much!
Jade gasps, clapping her hands. "Vivian? Oh, I would love to play her! She's such a strong and elegant character. Her story with Dante was so intenseโI was on edge the entire time. If they ever make a movie or drama based on the book, I'd audition in a heartbeat."
She scrolls a bit further and catches another comment. "Ava from Twisted Love, though? That would be another dream role. I mean, her dynamic with Alex was so intense and emotional. Plus, Ava has such a bold and fun personality. It'd be so much fun to play someone like her."
-Jade as Ava or Vivian? Yes, please!
-Can Mingyu play Dante? ๐
-You'd slay as Ava! Do it, unnie!
Jade bursts out laughing at the comment about Mingyu. "Mingyu as Dante? I don't know if he'd agree to that, but it'd definitely be interesting. He'd have to work on his 'brooding billionaire' vibe." She wiggles her eyebrows, trying to look serious but breaking into giggles. "Yeah, no, he's too smiley for that."
Leaning closer to the screen, she tilts her head. "But seriously, Ana Huang's books are amazing. If you haven't read King of Wrath yet, I highly recommend it. It's such a good mix of romance, drama, and a bit of suspense. And her Twisted series? Absolute gold. What about you all? Do you have a favorite book from her?"
-Twisted Lies is my favorite! Christian is amazing.
-Twisted Hate! Josh and Jules had the best enemies-to-lovers vibe!
-I haven't read Ana Huang's books yet, but I'm adding them to my list!
Jade nods enthusiastically. "Yes, you have to read them! Start with Twisted Loveโit's such a good introduction to her writing. And Josh and Jules in Twisted Hate? Iconic. I loved their dynamic so much. I'm so happy to see more of you are planning to check out her books."
She pauses for a moment, scanning the comments with a smile. "It's so fun to talk about this stuff with you all. I feel like we're just hanging out as friends. Oh, and don't forgetโChapter 15 is our new deadline. I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the next part of The Wrong Bride."
-This book club is the highlight of my week!
-Unnie, you make reading so much fun!
-Thanks for inspiring us to read more, Jade!
Jade places her hands over her heart, her expression soft. "You guys are the best. I'll always make time for this, so thank you for being here with me. Let's keep the recommendations comingโI'll write them all down later!"
She picks up her cup of tea, taking a small sip as she glances back at the screen. "Alright, what's next? Let's keep chatting for a little while before we wrap up."
-Can we talk about more books you've read, unnie?
-Do you have any favorite authors besides Ana Huang?
-What's your all-time favorite romance book?
Jade sets her cup down and grins. "Oh, now you're really putting me on the spot!"
Jade adjusts her camera slightly and leans back, a relaxed smile on her face as she continues scrolling through comments. "Okay, so we've talked about Ana Huang's books, but I just rememberedโI recently read The Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori. Have any of you read it?"
-Yes, unnie! Nico is such a dream.
-Elena and Nico's chemistry is amazing!
-What was your favorite part, Jade?
She clasps her hands together, a spark of excitement lighting up her expression. "Oh my gosh, where do I even begin? The earlier dynamic between Elena and Nico was so intense, wasn't it? They're constantly at each other's throats, but you can just feel the tension building." Jade laughs, shaking her head. "My favorite part has to be when Nico pushed her into the pool during his engagement party. Like, what even was that? The audacity!"
-That scene was iconic!
-Unnie, that's my favorite part too!
-I'd fight Nico, honestly.
Jade grins and nods in agreement. "Right? I was so mad at him, but also low-key rooting for their chaotic relationship. There's something about how they went from enemies to... well, not exactly friends, but you know what I mean."
More comments flood in, and one catches her attention.
-Have you read The Maddest Obsession yet?
Jade sighs dramatically, placing her hands on her chest. "No, not yet! It's still on my TBR list. I've heard so many good things about it, though, especially about Christian. Apparently, he's a lot better than Nico, right? I feel like I'll need to prepare myself emotionally before diving in."
-You'll love him more than Nico, trust me!
-Add The Darkest Temptation too! It's amazing.
She perks up at the recommendations. "Okay, wait. Hold onโlet me pull up my list." Jade reaches to her side and grabs her iPad, quickly unlocking it before holding it up to the camera. "I actually keep a very organized TBR list because I read so much. Look at this!"
The screen displays a neatly made document, separated into categories: Books Read (highlighted in pink), Currently Reading (highlighted in blue), and To Be Read (enclosed in clean boxes).
-Unnie, your list is so aesthetic!
-How is your TBR list prettier than my life?
-Teach us your ways!
Jade chuckles, clearly proud of her system. "I know, right? I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of stuff. It helps me keep track of everything because otherwise, I'd forget what I want to read next."
She scrolls through the list slowly, allowing Blinks to see the names of books. "So here's The Maddest Obsessionโdefinitely on my radar. Oh, and I've also added The Darkest Temptation because a lot of you recommended it."
-Read it soon, unnie! You'll love Ronan.
-Your list is giving me life!
-Add The Confidence of Wildflowers tooโit's so good!
Jade nods, quickly typing into her iPad. "Okay, let me add The Confidence of Wildflowers to the list. Thank you for the recommendation! Seriously, you all are the best for helping me discover new books. I'll promise to read them eventuallyโpink highlight and all."
-Do you ever struggle to keep up with all these books?
-How do you read so fast, unnie?
-What's your favorite genre?
She tilts her head, pondering the questions. "Honestly, I think it's because I get so immersed in the stories. Once I start, I can't stop! Like with The Sweetest Oblivion, I finished it in two days because I couldn't put it down. My favorite genre, though? Definitely romance, but I also love books with a bit of suspense or mystery."
She scrolls through the comments again, her eyes lighting up as she reads more recommendations. "Waitโhas anyone here read A Court of Thorns and Roses? I've been hearing about it everywhere. Is it worth the hype?"
-YES! Feyre and Rhysand are iconic!
-Unnie, you HAVE to read it.
-ACOTAR will change your life.
Jade claps her hands, laughing. "Okay, okay! I'll add it to the list too. You're all turning me into an even bigger bookworm than I already am."
As she finishes updating her TBR, she leans closer to the camera, a playful smile on her face. "So, what's the verdict? Are we sticking to Chapter 15 for The Wrong Bride as our next goal? And don't forget to keep the recommendations comingโI'll read as many as I can."
-Chapter 15 is perfect!
-Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the next part!
-Thank you for being such a relatable bookworm, unnie!
Jade places her iPad down and takes a sip from her mug, her expression warm. "I'll always make time for these chats with you all. You keep me inspired. Now, what else should we talk about before I go back to reading?"
Jade glances at the time on her phone and sighs. "Alright, Blinks, I think that's enough book talk for today. I should let you all get back to your lives, and I need to get back to mine, which, let's be honest, will probably include starting another book tonight." She laughs softly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
-Noooo, don't leave yet!
-Unnie, do a live again soon!
-We'll miss you!
She smiles warmly. "I promise I'll come back soon. And I'll keep my word about the night walks! I'll try to snap some photos during our next walk. Maybe I'll even post them, but only if they turn out decent. You know how bad I am with photography."
As she's about to end the live, a comment catches her eye. She squints at the screen and reads it aloud, "'Don't forget you promised to post photos of you and Mingyu.'"
Jade immediately hides her face behind her hands, her cheeks visibly turning pink. "Aish, why would you remind me of that? That's a sensitive subject for the next week!" she says, half-laughing and half-embarrassed.
-LOL, unnie, we're holding you accountable!
-Mingyu-oppa, if you're watching this, remind her!
-You're so shy, unnie! It's cute!
She shakes her head, peeking out from behind her hands. "You all are so noisy. Fine, fine, I'll think about it. No promises, though! And don't tell Mingyu about this, okay?"
-Too late, unnie. He's probably watching.
-You're blushing so much, LOL!
-We'll be waiting for those photos, hehe.
Jade gives the camera a playful glare before laughing. "Alright, I'm going for real this time. Thank you for always making me smile, and I'll see you all soon. Don't forget, Chapter 15 by next week! Bye, Blinks! Love you all!"
With one last wave and a soft giggle, she ends the live, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.
I'm probably gonna end it because why did I start talking about the wrong bride now I'm gonna have to read it again, the last time I read it was last year
I was coming to proofread a chapter to upload and i realised I forgot to upload this bye. Here you go my lovies.
