ISMENE STARK lives with a burden, one so heavy that it rests upon her shoulders in every waking moment. As a noble lady, she is aware that her life is never going to run a course that she desires, where she decides what her destiny will be.

Even though she knows she is loved by her father, she knows what her role is in life. Ever since she's been old enough to understand, she's known what it means to be a noble lady: she'll marry a lord one day, bare his children, and run his keep. She would be lying if she didn't dream of marrying a man one day, taking  upon herself to perform her wifely duties, but she dreamed of being able to choose such a match. Even with her entire young life to process such a duty, she not entirely sure if it's what she wants. Yet, she knows there isn't much of a choice she has to make.

HER twin brother, Darik, is the heir to Winterfell. Meaning, he will need heirs of his own. It would be expected that he'd be the first of the Stark children to marry and start the new legacy, but Ismene's fate comes on the black wings of a raven when her betrothed's father requests their union to finally take place after years of her father delaying it. With her parents reluctant approval, she is locked into her predestined future.

NEVERTHELESS, things soon begin to shift. Not only do the Starks have a longly anticipated  wedding to plan, but strange news reaches the north in the form of the King's impending visit. The king simply does not visit the north, so many know his reason for coming must be important. Many would soon realizes just how cataclysmic the visit would be.

"And so, the game begins."
