FINN DOUBLES OVER AT THE MEME Liam just sent him, laughing till he (almost) cried. It was that hilarious. Even though the other boy is supposed to be resting in the hospital.
He was glad he was doing okay, although he'd ask him when he got to the hospital later. The young teen put his phone away, getting back to jotting down the last little bits of his essay.
He had to finish before Eddie came to pick him up for hospital volunteer work, not that Liam was helping, if anything, Finn's newfound friend was making it worse.
But he digressed, Finn finished up his homework, and gathered his backpack, knowing it'd be sort of a late night. He'd never volunteered at a hospital before, in fact, he despised hospitals.
There were more germs and illnesses in places like a hospital than the outside world. Of course falling down a Google rabbit hole didn't deter his feelings about the whole thing either.
The teen double checked his list, making sure he packed everything he needed. Once he knew he was ready, all that was left to do now was wait for Eddie to come pick him up.
Having nothing else to do for now, Finn went downstairs to watch something on TV. It was only twenty minutes into a Criminal Minds episode when he heard keys against the door knob.
Eddie appeared on the other side, looking slightly disheveled and tired. He fixed his bag on his shoulder, using his foot to open the door a little more. Noticing his little brother sitting on the couch and greeted him.
"Hey, how was school?" He asked, finally filing into the house. Finn jumped up and grabbed his backpack, and picked up his phone from the coffee table.
"It was fine, Mr. Finstock asked if I wanted to join the lacrosse team. But I declined, since I'm a stick and not that athletic. And Liam spammed me with memes earlier while I was finishing my homework."
Eddie laughed, "Your teacher must be desperate, cause he's asking the wrong kid."
Finn rolled his eyes, "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ed."
Eddie ruffled his hair and he gathered a few things. "Let's go brochacho." The two of them head out the door, into the car, and off to the hospital. Finn was proud of his brother, he sacrificed so much for him to be able to live a good life.
Sometimes feeling guilty because of how much of Eddie's life revolved around taking care of him. He definitely needed a way to repay him and show how grateful he was.
Eddie parked in the lot and walked with Finn into the hospital, stopping at the front desk, Finn glanced at the woman, standing and writing up forums.
Finn noted she looked oddly familiar. She looked up and saw Eddie, she smiled before speaking, "Hey kiddo, welcome back. And this is Finn, I presume?"
"Yep, the one and only. Finn, this is Melissa, she is a total badass and is my head nurse." Eddie introduced.
Finn smiled, "Hi ma'am, nice to meet you."
Melissa waved her hand, "None of the ma'am nonsense. I'm not that old, nice to meet you Finn, your brother talks about you all the time. Nice attempt at grabbing brownie points, Eddie."
"Oh Melissa, I try my best." Finn chuckled at his brother.
"Between you and me kid, your brother can be a pain in the butt sometimes." Melissa said, looking at Finn.
Finn played along, "Tell me about it. I live with him."
Eddie mocked offense, "The absolute disrespect." To which Finn and Melissa laughed.
"I like him, but enough chit chat. Eddie, I need you in room 402. And Finn I'll show you where we can set you up, alright?"
Finn nodded and followed the woman's lead, he liked Melissa so far, she seemed pretty cool. The two of them went to the cafeteria, and she told him to basically read the list of patients who needed juice, jello, pudding.
Or one of the shitty bland and questionable microwaveable meals that everyone hated. And to go to each room to give them,
Finn got straight to work, telling Melissa he'd be alright and started looking at the clipboard. He thought about visiting Liam later while making his rounds.

Hours earlier the man brought him into his office. "So Connor, how would you like to join the lacrosse team?" Coach Finstock questioned.
Finn was currently sitting down opposite of the older man's desk. He previously had no idea why his teacher asked him here,
Now he knew, and it almost made him burst into laughter. The most athletic thing he's ever done was run six blocks, while his neighbor's German Shepard was hot on his trail.
The man repeated his question, "It's a great way to get active and make friends." That statement stung, did he know Finn only interacted with one kid out of the twenty in the class? He probably did.
"Sorry Coach. I'm not that into sports, though if my brother was my age he'd definitely be all for it." Finn replied.
Coach Finstock sighed, "So you're one of those nerds. I see, well, go learn finance or whatever you nerds do."
Finn corrected him, "That's a college course, sir." Coach waved him off dismissively in response.
"Whatever! Just get out Connor!" Finn got up from his seat and walked out of the office to his next class. Kind of laughing to himself, but something caught his eye. He saw a poster, it read: PHOTOGRAPHER NEEDED!
It was for the newspaper/photography club. This was extremely intriguing, as Finn loved photography.
Eddie had said he had a natural talent for capturing whatever emotion was in the picture. He'd definitely go on his lunch break.
Meanwhile Scott and Stiles arrived at the lacrosse field to practice for tryouts. Stiles complained the entire time about; "Why do we have to try out again?"
"There's no point, especially if we already tried out in our freshman year!" Scott kept his grades up like Coach told him, he wanted to at least have a little normalcy.
But Coach hadn't said whether Scott was back on the team or whether he's still captain; he just told him to show up at tryouts.
Stiles thought they had bigger things to worry about and asked if Scott contacted Argent. Scott sighed, "I texted him but he didn't get back to me."
Stiles was bewildered, "You told him his sister, Kate, came back from the dead over a text?"
"I didn't have the money to call France." Scott wasn't the only one with money problems;
Stiles and his dad are still trying to scrounge up enough money to pay for an MRI and Stiles's weekend trip to Eichen House.
Stiles doesn't think that worrying about their status on the lacrosse team should be added to their list of 117 million problems.
Then he sees the new talent practicing out on the field. Man-children, as Stiles would put it, are shooting at goal and some new kid goalie is blocking every shot. The two sophomores had no idea who this kid was.
Stiles decided that maybe he and Scott should practice as well. After practice, all the sweaty teen boys took their showers, changed into clean clothes, leaving Liam, Stiles, and Scott in the locker room.
Scott and Stiles cornered him and asked Liam to explain his impressive lacrosse skills. Stiles thought that not missing a single save was suspicious.
Liam argued that that's the point of being goalie. He was extremely confused about these two, he told them he transferred from Devonfort Prep this semester.
Scott used his super hearing to listen to Liam's heartbeat spike, he replied saying Liam didn't transfer; he got kicked out.
Liam gritted his teeth, telling them it doesn't matter. He came here to play lacrosse and the team could always use a few good players.
Stiles spoke up, "Alright, how'd you get this good? Have you always been this good or did it suddenly happen just once overnight? Have you ever been out in the middle of the woods during the night of a full-"
Scott cut Stiles off before he could just blatantly ask Liam if he was a werewolf. Liam says that he learned from his stepfather, who was a team captain when he was a junior just like Scott.
And yes, he is just that good. Scott's lie detector didn't go off; Liam's telling the truth. Liam shook his head, grabbed his gear, and headed out of the locker room and headed to find Mason.
Scott and Stiles left too, going into their math class, sitting through it as the teacher droned on and on.
Stiles left his phone vibrating in his pocket, he took it out and saw the notification about a triple homicide developing in Beacon Hills.
After class, he fills in Scott and Kira. Scott's mom had already called him about it and she said they should stay out of it. Kira told Stiles that she is all for letting the adults handle it.
"So the two of you- you just want to stay here at school and go to class? I've never heard anything so irresponsible in my life." Stiles complained before walking away from the two love birds.
Finn passed by and Scott waved to him, the younger teen smiled back and continued on his way to the library.
Where he proceeded to sit down in his usual corner and read a new book he ordered off Amazon. At this rate, he was going to be flat out broke with how many books he's buying.
He flipped through the page, using his bookmark as a guide, he was one of those people who needed to know which sentence he was on.
Otherwise he'd be stuck reading the same line over and over again. He got so lost into it, he didn't even hear that someone was calling out to him.
He glanced over and saw Liam, cheekily smiling at him. "I always find you here. You need a better hiding place."
Finn chuckled, "You're the only one who knows this is my hiding spot. And if the people find out, I could be kidnapped!"
"Oh no! You being kidnapped?! How would I go on without you?!" Liam joked, Finn laughed as he joined him on the floor.
"By the way, I've got lacrosse tryouts in an hour. Wanna come and watch?" Liam glanced at his friend.
Finn looked back, "Sure, although I may be a little late since I've got English. Funnily enough, Coach asked me if I wanted to try out."
Liam looked like he was going to laugh, Finn told him to go ahead, "Seriously? I may have only met you some weeks ago, but I know for a fact you're not one for sports."
"You would be correct. But hey, I'll cheer for you on the sidelines."
"Thanks, I'm glad it's you on the sidelines, Mason has no clue how lacrosse works."
"He knows there's a stick, if it goes into the other team's goal, it's a point for us. That's the extent of his knowledge." His friend laughed in response.
Finn nodded his head, "I'll be there." Liam smiled, before getting up and heading off to the locker room. After Finn got in a couple pages he had to stop and go to English class.
ββββββββββββββββββ
In the locker room, Scott was telling Stiles all about kissing Kira in the hallway before running off like an idiot. It was their first kiss since their actual first kiss.
Now he's worried because it was like a kiss you give your grandmother when you're five. Stiles concluded, "Oh, chaste. You gave her a chaste kiss."
Scott sighed, "Yeah. And now it's all weird. It's all completely weird and I don't know what to do. Maybe I should text her."
Stiles waved his hands, "No. Just no with the texts." Coach entered and the rest of the guys cheered and clapped.
He reminded everyone that this is an open tryout today. All positions are available. This was a rebuilding season.
"Jackson's gone, Lahey's gone. Greenberg, the one guy I actually wanted gone, was held back again." He complained, when the guys sort of dispersed Scott went up to Coach privately.
Coach said that Scott's on the team but all positions are open, meaning his captaincy isn't assured. Liam overheard that and was pleased.
That meant he had a chance. Tryouts start, and Kira and Malia sit in the stands to watch tryouts. Malia was carrying a Precalculus textbook.
Having no intention of watching, unless it was Stiles. Finn finally finished English, and rushed to the fields to watch Liam.
Coach was in the middle of timing the boys on their running, Stiles, while perfectly capable of running away from dangerous supernatural predators, wasn't all that good at sprints. He comes in last and collapses on the ground.
Scott picked his friend up and told him that Liam came in first. Everyone else is either sitting or lying on the ground. Liam started doing push-ups, Finn was impressed, he didn't know Liam was that good,
Considering how he tried to downplay his skill. "Is he even human? What is he, like a werecheetah? Does that even exist? Is that a thing?" Stiles whispered to Scott.
Scott shrugged, "Maybe he's just that good."
Stiles looked paler than usual, "I'm gonna puke. Take me somewhere." In the stands, Kira has somehow got hold of a lacrosse stick.
Malia can smell Kira's anxiety and asks what's wrong. Kira tells her in vague details about the kiss. Whatever this thing with Scott is, Kira wants it to be more.
Stiles shoots and the ball lands precisely in the goalie's lacrosse stick net thingie. Liam is apparently good at everything and immediately scores a goal.
Scott hated the feeling of jealousy against Liam, since the team needed new players but he didn't want to be replaced as captain.
Scott tries to prove himself but when he shoots, Scott's ball catches the corner of the goal and bounces off. Everyone laughed.
Liam scores goal after goal. Scott keeps missing. Even Kira notices and seems confused. Finn cheered, Liam looked up and saw him sitting in the stands.
He waved over to him and got a wave back. The captain is supposed to be one of the best players... or at the very least a good player.
Scott was none of those things right now because he's trying not to use his werewolf skills. Instead, he's just sucking like a regular human. Using his wolf powers would be cheating.
Stiles admitted, "I just.. I hate seeing this little freshman come in and steal all your glory after you worked your tooshie off. I hate it."
Scott shook his head, "He's not going to steal all the glory." Scott's eyes go red. Coach tells Scott and Stiles to take the long sticks and cover the goal for two-on-ones.
Scott hasn't been able to catch a werewolf scent on Liam but they're about to get close enough to catch any kind of scent.
For this exercise, Scott and Stiles are just supposed to stop a player from reaching the goal. "Those two are like sons to me."
Now that Scott is doing something that looks impressive, Kira has a chance to cheer for him.
Malia, unclear on how to react in this situation, works off Kira's facial expressions and cheers along.
When it's Liam's turn to face Scott and Stiles, he does some moves and gets past them easily, then scores a goal.
Malia shouted that it was luck and she wants a do-over. Coach only agreed after Malia put $10 on Scott and Stiles.
The second time around, Scott let out a little growl to himself as he goes at Liam. When they collided, Liam flipped over backwards and landed awkwardly on his ankle.
Everyone gasped, Finn immediately jumped up and ran to his friend. But Scott and Stiles were already picking him up to take him to the nurse.
Liam assured Finn he'd be fine, but Finn knew it was bull so he followed them. Coach picked up a ball and threw it in frustration. It almost hit Malia in the head but Kira darted out her lacrosse stick and caught it.
When Coach told her to throw it back, she did and accidentally hit him in the stomach, winding him. Coach gasped in pain and asked if she's ever played lacrosse.
Finn waited outside the nurse's office nervously, Liam landed on his ankle badly, he could've sworn he heard the bone snap.
He shook his head vigorously, trying not to think about it, but being the overthinker he was, his mind went to an overwhelming state of constant what if's.
He went inside to see the nurse tending to Liam, as best she could, while Stiles was sitting in a chair, he sat down in the vacant one.
Scott emerged from the office, seeing Kira waiting outside the nurse's office, he saw Kira smiling at a lacrosse helmet.
He tells her that they need to take Liam to the hospital; they're not sure if it's a sprain or a break. Kira tells him they can talk later. Scott apologizes for the weird kiss.
But Kira tells him it's fine. He goes back into the nurse's office not even a second later, Scott walked back out. "You know what? I'm not sorry."
Kira jumps up and they kiss again. When they break apart, Kira tells him to text her later. Then they go their separate ways with big smiles on their faces.
Now it was towards the end of the day, and Finn needed to get home, so he told Liam he'd visit him in the hospital later.
Before walking it out, gathering his backpack, and walking home.
ββββββββββββββββββ
At the hospital, Melissa was checking on Sean. He still won't talk about what happened and has refused any food. Melissa tells him there's a deputy standing outside.
When Sean still doesn't answer, she leaves, Mellisa finds Scott, Stiles, and Liam in the lobby. She put Liam in a wheelchair and took him off to be examined.
Scott said he'd stay to keep an eye on Liam. He felt terrible, he let his anger and jealousy get the best of him. And he hurt an innocent kid.
Stiles reminded Scott that it isn't his fault; if he'd used any wolf powers, Liam would be crawling back to the other half of his body, not limping around with a possibly sprained ankle.
Scott thinks his desire to be captain is what hurt Liam. Stiles put his hand on Scott's shoulder and told him to give him updates, and he left.
Scott heads to Liam's room, but before he can enter he hears Liam talking to a doctor. He stood listening as Dr. Geyer told Liam to remember what they always said:
'Play smart, not hard'. "Are you mad at me?" Liam asked.
"No, of course not. Your mom might be mad at me for getting you into lacrosse but maybe we should both wait for the x-ray before we panic. And trust me, I have more reason to panic than you."
Scott came to the conclusion that the doctor was someone Liam knew. The two finish talking, and Doctor Geyer leaves the room but Scott pretended like he wasn't listening in.
His phone rang, when he picked it up it was Lydia, panicked on the other end, telling him to get to the hospital right away and find Sean.
Finn checked the clipboard again and made sure he was heading to the right room, he met Melissa at the door.
He told her he had a delivery to make for the patient in the room. The two walked into Sean's room, saying the sheriff is on his way and Sean needs to wake up.
Except Sean wasn't in his bed, and the officer that was stationed outside the door hours before was lying in a pool of his own blood.
Finn gasped, as he and Melissa both saw Sean, eating the officer's intestines, Finn dropped the tray on the floor, and Melissa shielded the teen.
Sean turned to them and spoke, "I couldn't help it. I'm so hungry. I'm just so hungry." His eyes are bright white and he has multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth.
Sean stood up from his puddle of blood, saying he's ready to talk now. Melissa and Finn try to run.
Sean chases them but he drags Melissa back. Finn looked back and tried to get to Melissa but she yelled at him to keep going, so he did.
Then Scott appeared at the end of the hall, wolfed out and ready to kill the guy for daring to touch his mom.
Sean threw Scott off and ran away. Scott paused to check on his mom. She's covered in blood but it's all from Sean. But tells him she's all right. "Go get that son of a bitch."
Liam hobbles out of his hospital room, calling out to see if anyone else heard 'that'. Finn continued running, and ran into his friend, he was out of breath, heart racing, while Liam was asking if he was okay.
Sean appeared behind them, and Finn told him to run. Unfortunately, they don't get too far as Sean caught up and took them up to the roof of the hospital.
The two thrash, trying to get out of Sean's grip. But it doesn't work, Scott tracked him to the roof through a combination of scent and bloodstains left around the hospital.
He found him looking like he was ready to eat/throw Liam and Finn off the roof. Scott, being Scott, tried to reason with him, saying that whatever he is, they could help him.
"Wendigos don't need help. We need food." He said. Scott jumped up to the ledge and Sean threw Liam and Finn off the roof.
Scott shoved Sean aside, leaning over to grab Liam's hands and stop him from slipping. Finn scrambled up the wall, trying to climb up, while Sean tried to pull Scott's arms back and off Liam.
With his arms pinned, the only way Scott can keep a grip on Liam is to use his teeth. He sinks his teeth into Liam's arm just as Sean is ripped away from him.
Scott pulled Liam back onto the roof and went for Finn getting him onto the ground. He then turned to see Sean lying dead on the ground. A man pulled an axe out of Sean's back and walked away.
Before he rounded the corner, the man looked at Scott and pressed a finger to where his mouth should've been, motioning for him to keep quiet.
Scott looked at him in disbelief but does nothing. He turned back to look at Liam, who was groaning in pain and cradling his freshly-bitten arm.
Finn trying to calm him down, All Finn could repeat in his head without speaking, cause in all honesty he was speechless.
"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!" But what was crazier, was the way everything went dark after that.
