STRAWBERRIES & CIGARETTES [CHAPTER 10]

10|I want to solve that mystery.

They reached the hospital after 1 hour. Of course, she knew Jungkook was acting. She was annoyed and bored by Jin nagging at her the whole time for not reaching the hospital. The more he nagged the more she took long routes.

Jungkook was whining and groaning the whole time and it made her desire to kick him in his nuts to shut him up but the old man right there would throw her out of the window of her car.

She parked the car in front of the hospital not bothering to speak something. Seokjin immediately took the seatbelt off and rushed inside the hospital. The way the doctor was running toward the patient, it looked like that Seokjin has exaggerated a little—a bit too much.

The doctor took long strides to check the patient. He brushed his platinum blonde hair back, showing his clammy forehead. He squinted his eyes, fixing his specs. The long white coat complemented his tan skin, and the black jeans wrapped around his things as if it was his second skin, showing his naturally thick thighs. He looked giant from afar.

She wonders how tall he was. The doctor was way too handsome to handle but it didn't flatter the girl beside the whining boy. They reached the car with a wheelchair and took him inside. She sighed and also went inside with them.

The doctor glared at the worried Seokjin who was standing by Jungkook's side.

"Is he his father? Or brother?" She thought, staring at Seokjin.

"You told me he has fractured his leg!!" The doctor yelled, glaring at the man who was worried sick. "How would I know? He was whining and groaning all the time!" Seokjin yelled back, his eyes wide, and hands flying in the air in angry gestures.

"I told you he was acting." She scoffed, frowning at Junklook. "Namjoon Hyung, she doesn't know anything—don't believe her, it was me who got hit by the car not her!" Jungkook defended himself, biting his lips.

Namjoon whipped his head towards the girl, curious as hell. "You are?" He questioned, pointing at her. "Does that concern you?" He shakes his head in denial. "Then do the work that concerns you." He pursed his lips in humiliation, clearing his throat.

No one ever said something like that to him. Every girl in the hospital came to him without any reason or faking sickness just to see his face.

The girl appeared straight-up rude in his first impression. Jungkook snickered at his Hyung who just got embarrassed by a girl. Namjoon cleared his throat, his long finger raised towards his cute little nose and he sniffed.

He started checking Jungkook again to cover his humiliation. "Nothing has happened to you. You just got a little sprain on your foot." Namjoon informed smiling at Jungkook, showing his deep dimples that could make anyone's heart swoon. Jungkook's eyes widen—

"This Hyung always ruins everything." Jungkook panicked internally.

"Wasn't he holding his knee the whole t? me." She pointed out, turning her hand towards  Namjoon. Namjoon immediately panicked at the girl's sharp observations. "I–I meant to say knee—it was knee–I meant to say that just got a tongue of slip." He scratched his head, smiling nervously at the girl.

"Sure, tongue of slip." Everyone started laughing at Namjoon who stood there with flushed cheeks, looking as cute as a shy baby.

"Shadow observes everything," Jungkook whispers to himself but she heard it. "Say me shadow one more time and I would intentionally run a tractor over you." She warned him, her tone cold as ice and deep as the ocean, scaring the shit out of Jungkook.

"You can not threaten anyone," Namjoon mumbled, scared by her himself. "Why would I not? You always wear black and don't show your face—" She interrupts him, glaring at him through her slits.

"—That shouldn't concern you!" She yelled at him, pointing her lean fingers at him. "You don't have any right to meddle in my life—I warned you before—" she walks towards him, gritting her teeth. "Or else I would not hesitate to do something brutal with you." She shouts and leaves the room not forgetting to shut the door with a loud bang.

Everyone froze at their spots. The girl's aura was something that could make you quiver at your place. She had a dark and intimidating aura. Her personality was mysterious, always getting unwanted attention. Just like Jungkook gave her the name–shadow

"Okay, what was the deal with you?" Jin broke the silence, staring at the boy who was still starting at the creaking door. "Yeah Jungkook, why would you act like you were hurt?" Jungkook didn't answer them, still lost in his thoughts.

"Who is the girl?"

"Do you know her?"

"She is so weird."

"And rude too."

"Thank me that I played along with you and told Namjoon about it or else I don't know what could have happened with you."

"I don't like her." Namjoon folded his hands near his wait, frowning when he recalled her rudeness.

"But you tried to flirt with her."

"Hyung......."

"Jungkook is she your friend?"

"Or girlfriend?"

"Maybe friends with benefits?"

"Yah! Do you want me to hit you? What are you saying to him?" Seokjin glared, holding his foot, warning him of his slippers.

"Sorry!"

"Isn't she a mystery?"

"I didn't see her face."

"Me too."

"She looked like a psycho."

"A murderer? Mafia leader?"

"I wonder if she's like that or she's pick me girl—"

They waited for his answer but the boy was lost in his world. Out of the blue, he started talking out of the blue still gawking at the door.

"I am—I am inquisitive about the girl. That girl is just like a book–an old grubby book that was never read, a mystery and thriller which was always omitted. They overlooked it just because it stand out from the others because they thought its genre was horror.

It was intimidating and no one dared to touch it because there was a lot of hearsay about it. No one even tried to open it or read its first chapter.

But one day someone came out of the blue and got curious about it–he tried to read it but the book had a lock, a protective lock, so, it didn't open. He tried but it was not easy.

But the boy didn't give up, he tried and tried–and he will until he unlocks the book. Trying is the key—if you try you can fly, you can do anything.

If you don't try, you can't say. "Oh I tried but the result was nothing." So, don't give up unless you don't try and that's my goal right now.

I want to know the girl. I want to know why she's like that—see? even you guys said that she's a mystery. I want to solve that mystery. I want her to open up–to me. I want her to be my friend. "

He finished and looked at his hyungs who were standing there with their mouths hanging in the air. They didn't know out of all of them Jungkook would talk like this.

The eldest shook his head in disbelief. He took steps towards Jungkook who was sitting on the bed. He grabbed his face, and turned it to left, right, up, and then down.

Everything seemed fine. "Where is my Jungkook? Who are you? Where are you from? Did you kidnapped Jungkook and come here? What do you want—"

Namjoon interrupted the elder by saying. "–Stop overreacting Hyung." Seokjin stared deep at the boy, squinting his eyes.

"But how can you be sure it's him? You saw how he used fancy words? And the biggest point is how did his trash brain work this well?" Seokjin was shocked at the youngest as well as Namjoon but Namjoon was not someone who would overreact.

Jungkook flashed his bunny smile at Seokjin who was still inspecting him. "Hyung, see I grew up!"

"Anyone can tell it was him. He started rambling and this 'grew-up' thing. You're literally roasting him but he doesn't know shit and thinks you're praising him." Seokjin nodded his head. Namjoon was right, the grew up thing is what Jungkook will always say and he's so dumb.

Seokjin softly smiled at Jungkook, who was eager to hear something out of his mouth. "You still have to grow up." He patted his head and walked towards Namjoon. A pout formed on Jungkook's lips.

"I wonder when I will grow up?" He thinks, pursing his lips.

"You have to get a cast on your knee," Namjoon says, still talking to Seokjin. Jungkook groans in annoyance. "Just why I had to do it?" He kicks his legs in the air, getting frustrated himself.

"It's the consequences of own my actions! Now, mom will nag me 24 hours, and dad will check on me every 1 second–and shadow will be cursing at me because of my acting." He talks to himself, regretting each action he did earlier.

He just wanted to see the girl's face. He thought maybe he could see it but no–the luck isn't on his side.

This chapter was so long! You must be tired, right? You want a massage? Then go and ask someone to do that—wait–you thought I would say let me do that? Pfft, Nah! I'm tired too so, lets go together.

~Hope you liked this chapter!

Jungkook is so dramatic and innocent I swear.

>And by the way, was the paragraph good? The paragraph where he talks about her? I mean did it sound weird or something? Idk if this blends with this chapter or not. Idk I even almost cut it. I hope it did.
