Betty Cooper was runningโrunning like she had never run before.
As she leaped out of her car, her heart raced, and panic surged through her. She couldn't even remember if she had parked it; all that mattered was getting to her sister.
But then, suddenly, she was halted by a strong arm wrapping around her waist.
"Betty! Stop!" Jughead shouted, his grip firm as she struggled against him, twisting to meet his gaze. His eyes were wide with urgency.
"Where is she, Jug? Where's my sister?!" Betty cried, desperation choking her voice as she frantically scanned their surroundings for Cami. She had been reaching out to her for the last thirty minutes, ever since the chaos at homeโthe terrifying moment when her father had tried to harm their mother, only stopped by the quick thinking of Betty hitting him over the head. Now, just when she thought things couldn't get worse, Jughead's frantic call had shattered her world; Cami was in danger.
Everything had unraveled so quickly, and now Jughead was the only thing standing between her and her sister. That is until a cracking sound pierced the air, freezing them both.
Betty turned, dread pooling in her stomach as she beheld a horrifying sight: FP emerging from the woods, cradling Cami in his arms, her sister limp and covered in bloodโher own blood. She wasn't moving.
"No, no, no," Betty whispered, horror flooding her veins. If it weren't for Jughead's steadying grip, she would have crumpled to the ground.
"Cami!" The scream tore from her throat as she broke free from Jughead's hold, darting toward FP. But she wasn't alone; everyone had turned, their eyes glued to the scene, each breath caught in their throats.
"I-I couldn't check..." FP muttered, his face pale and haunted as he peered down at Cami, grief palpable in his expression. Betty's hands trembled as she reached out, desperate to feel her sister's pulse. But someone was faster.
To her left, Sweet Pea hovered, his jaw clenched tightly as he pressed his fingers against Cami's neck. Time slowed as they all held their breath, watching him intently. For what felt like an eternity, he stood there, motionless, until finally, his body relaxed.
"It's strong," he exhaled, relief washing over him. As FP tightened his grip and began moving toward his motorcycle, a wave of hope flickered in Betty's heart.
"Where are you going?" Betty demanded, trailing after him, panic fueling her steps.
"Call the hospital," FP said, his jaw set as he sat on the bike, ensuring Cami's helmet was in place before revving the engine. He didn't glance back at them.
In the stillness that followed, Jughead's quiet confession shattered the tension. "It's all my fault."
His voice carried the weight of anguish, and he turned toward Sweet Pea, who smirked darkly as he straddled his own bike.
"If you expect someone to tell you otherwise, you'll be waiting a long time. It is your fault," Sweet Pea said, revving his engine before taking off after FP.
The night was thick with uncertainty and fear, but one thing was clear: Camilla Cooper would be avenged, no matter what it took.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
At the hospital, FP sits beside Cami, gently cradling her hand in both of his, kissing each knuckle as he gazes at her face, filled with concern.
"Please, baby, wake up," FP begs softly, resting his cheek against her hand. The room around him fades away as he clings to her presence.
He struggles to comprehend what the doctor is saying, only catching snippets: a concussion, the reason for her unconsciousness. The doctor mentioned a two-hour window, a point after which they would start to worry. Now, all FP can do is wait, each passing second amplifying his fear and apprehension.
As the two-hour mark approaches, panic rises within him.
"I should have realized it sooner," a voice murmurs, breaking through FP's thoughts. He turns to see Fred seated in the other chair beside Cami, his gaze fixed on their intertwined hands. FP had almost forgotten he was there, lost in his worry.
"I started to notice it at POP's when I saw the connection you two had, but I never put it all together," Fred admits, shaking his head, a deep sigh escaping him.
"I see why Mary kept saying I was blind," he adds, almost to himself, the weight of the revelation heavy in the air.
"I should have told you," FP replies earnestly, but Fred shakes his head gently, understanding.
"I know I don't deserve her," FP whispers, his eyes still locked on Cami as he squeezes her hand. He hasn't left her side since they arrived at the hospital, only briefly pulled away by security for the doctors to examine her.
"The moment I saw her smile for the first time, I knew something was different," FP continues, a mix of awe and disbelief in his voice. "I'm still shocked that she chose to trust me with her heart."
With a serious expression, he looks directly into Fred's eyes.
"I promise you, Fred, I will do everything in my power to deserve her love, for as long as she'll have me. I will protect her, no matter what," he vows, and Fred watches him, seeing a side of FP he had never witnessed before.
Fred glances down at Cami, still unconscious, before meeting FP's gaze again.
"Are you in love with her?" he asks gently. FP's gaze shifts back to Cami as he brushes a stray hair from her forehead, knowing how much she dislikes it when it covers her eyes.
"Love doesn't even begin to capture how I feel about her," FP replies, his voice thick with emotion.
"I never expected her to shout at me, telling me how she felt. If her phone hadn't interrupted our conversation, I would have told her just how much she means to me."
"She transformed my life the moment I saw her sitting on that bar stool after your boy broke her heart. She made me want to be better because she believed I could be. Cami has become an unforgettable part of my life, and I've never known happiness like this since she walked in."
"For her, I would do anything, even burn this town down to keep her safe or just to hear her laugh. She is everything," FP concludes, overwhelmed by emotion, while Fred gives him a reassuring pat on the hand.
"That sounds like love," Fred says softly, and FP nods, resting his head back on her hand, lost in thought.
"I just need her to wake up so I can finally tell her," FP confesses, a deep sigh escaping him. Fred nods in understanding, then adds,
"We'll also need to tell her about Hal," he says, watching as FP's jaw clenches at the mention of her father. The pain of knowing how Hal Cooper has hurt Cami fills the air, and Fred feels a surge of anger mixed with sadness.
"I truly believe that will break her. No matter what Hal has put her through, Cami still loves him more than anything...and he almost killed her," Fred concludes, shaking his head in disbelief.
Deep down, his anger about being shot by Hal pales in comparison to his fury that Hal could hurt his daughter so deeply, only to act as if he is a caring father afterward. Fred can't fathom how that's possible.
"She'll be okay," FP says nodding his head as he looks towards Fred who stares at him with eyebrows furrowed.
"She'll have you. She'll be okay," FP tells him as Fred smiles slightly at that before looking at Cami.
"And you," Fred tells him making FP nod as he squeezes Cami's hand placing a kiss on her knuckles.
"Always," FP whispers towards Cami as he stares at her still unconscious form.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
In Cami's hospital room, Veronica sits quietly by her side, her heart heavy with worry. Fred managed to coax FP out of the room by mentioning that Cami would want a strawberry milkshake when she woke up. That small distraction allowed him to step out for a moment.
"Please, Cam, I need you to wake up. I know you're taking your sweet precious time, but we're all right here waiting for you," Veronica pleads softly, her voice trembling as they pass the two-hour mark.
The doctor has started running more tests, but, consistent with earlier assessments, everything seems normal. The doctors assure her that Cami is fine; she's just taking a little longer to revive from her slumber.
"We all miss you so much, Cam. Betty is so scared and upset; she can't even leave her house because of your dad. Archie is trying to channel his energy into his dad's campaign, and Jughead feels like this is all his fault. And I-I just need you here with us, Cee. With me," Veronica confesses, her voice breaking as she clutches Cami's hand, tears streaming down her face as she desperately hopes her words might reach the blonde.
Suddenly, she feels a soft squeeze from Cami's hand, which jolts Veronica to attention. She looks up, her eyes widening in disbelief as she sees Cami's eyes fluttering open, a delicate tilt of her head indicating she's trying to process what's happening.
"Iโ" Cami starts, but a fit of coughing interrupts her. Without hesitation, Veronica grabs a cup of water, gently lifting it to Cami's lips. Cami sips greedily, and once she finishes the entire cup, she leans back into the bed, her gaze focused on Veronica.
"I-I'm so sorry...but who are you?" Cami asks, her voice faint and filled with confusion as she studies Veronica, who stares back, wide-eyed and overwhelmed with a mixture of relief and fear.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Over an hour later FP begins walking back towards Cami's hospital room with a Cami special milkshake. He would have been here faster but stopped by his trailer to change clothes only to see a bottle of scotch.
For ten long minutes, FP stared at that bottle, battling inner demons, until something on the back of his chair caught his eyeโCami's cardigan. It served as a gentle reminder of her warmth and spirit. In a moment of clarity, he grabbed the bottle, poured it down the drain, and tossed it in the trash, leaving his trailer with determination, and slamming the door behind him as a symbol of his resolve.
As he approached Cami's room, FP froze for a moment when he saw Veronica standing outside, her wide eyes reflecting concern.
"Veronica? What's wrong?" FP hurried over, sensing her distress. Veronica turned to him, her eyes red-rimmed and filled with unshed tears.
"Camiโshe's awake," Veronica said, her voice shaky. Relief washed over FP, and he rushed toward the room, eager to see her.
"FP, waitโ" Veronica called out, but he was already stepping inside. There sat Cami in her hospital bed, gazing thoughtfully out the window.
"Hey, Trouble," FP said softly, his heart swelling at the sight of her. Cami turned her head toward him, her expression a mix of curiosity and confusion.
"Do-do I know you?" she asked, tilting her head as FP felt his heart sink. The color drained from his face, and he was momentarily overwhelmed, almost dropping the milkshake in his hand.
"Wait! I'm joking! I'm joking! Please don't drop my milkshake!" Cami exclaimed, reaching for it, and FP found himself both stunned and relieved by her playful spirit. Veronica couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head.
"I told you it wasn't funny, Camilla!" Veronica chimed in, gently patting FP's arm as he continued to stare at Cami in disbelief.
"What?" FP managed to ask as Veronica took the milkshake from him, handing it to Cami, who smiled gratefully at her friend.
"I've always wanted to do that, and I did it with Veronica, and she started freaking out, and then you came in, andโI'm sorry?" Cami said, wincing slightly, sensing something out of place as she looked at FP.
His initial shock melted away, and he burst out laughing, leaning closer toward her and gently grabbing her chin to meet her gaze. "I don't care if you pull that prank on me a thousand timesโas long as you are awake and...alive," he said, emotion filling his voice. Cami smiled softly and leaned in, connecting her lips with his in a tender kiss that conveyed all their shared moments.
FP sighed contentedly, kissing her back gently as Cami traced her fingers along his cheek, savoring the intimacy before slowly pulling away.
She looked at him, her gaze softening, then between him and Veronica, confusion flickering in her eyes. "Hey, where is everyone else? Where's my parents? And Betty and Jug? And the serpents?" she asked.
Veronica exchanged a glance with FP, and he sighed, giving a small nod. Veronica squeezed Cami's hand reassuringly before stepping out of the room, leaving Cami feeling unsure and worried.
Outside, Veronica leaned against the hospital railing and sent out a group text to everyone, sharing the good news that Cami was awake. But then, she heard itโthe heart-wrenching sob that Cami let out, filled with disbelief as she repeatedly cried "no," desperately hoping FP's words were not true. Wiping her tears, Veronica took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Betty laid Cami's arms wrapped tightly around as Cami's fingers ran through her baby sister's hair as the two lay in Cami's hospital bed.
"I'm so sorry, Betts," Cami whispered, tightening her hold on her sister, who instinctively leaned in closer.
"It's not your fault, Cami. I'm so sorry for everything you've been through," Betty replied, struggling to keep her emotions in check as Cami shook her head, wanting to comfort her sister instead.
"You have nothing to apologize for. His actions aren't on you. You did nothing wrong; he did," Cami explained, taking a shaky breath. "Dad...," she trailed off, shaking her head as the weight of her feelings pressed down on her.
"He deceived us all, Betty. I thought that maybe, after everything, he would finally realize his mistakes. I truly believed that almost losing me would make him see how much he loved me," Cami said, staring at the ceiling, trying to hold back her tears.
"But it was all a facade. He just felt guilty," she said, running her fingers through Betty's hair again, while her sister looked up at her with empathy in her eyes.
"If it helps at all, he did say he never meant to hurt you. He thought he was protecting youโthat you were the only good thing in his life," Betty said gently, but Cami couldn't help scrunching her nose at that.
"That just feels wrong," Cami replied, making Betty laugh softly, and soon they were both sharing a moment of laughter despite the heaviness surrounding them.
"I missed you, Cam," Betty said earnestly, which brought a small smile to Cami's face.
"I missed you too," Cami replied, just as a vibration interrupted the moment, drawing their attention to Jughead's message on Betty's phone.
"Is he okay?" Cami asked, her concern evident as Betty nodded slightly.
"He's feeling guilty about everything that's happened, and he's trying to support the Serpents as they cope with it all," Betty explained, causing Cami to sigh.
"They shouldn't have acted that way," Cami replied with a touch of firmness, shaking her head in disapproval.
"There was no stopping us," a voice chimed in, and a smile broke on Cami's face as she looked up to see Sweet Pea entering the room. However, her expression quickly shifted to one of stern concern as she processed his words.
"What you did, Sunshine brought every Serpent I've ever known out of hiding. Nobody was going to let this go unpunished," Sweet Pea said gently, leaning down to place a warm kiss on the top of her head.
"And look what happened because of it. There were too many Ghoulies, Pea! The Sunnyside Trailer Park... it's a mess. Most of the trailers are burned. Some Serpents defected and joined the Ghoulies, others got arrested, more are hiding, and some just left town. The Serpents don't even exist anymore because of me," Cami lamented, shaking her head in disbelief.
"That was a risk we were all prepared to take, Camilla. You made that choice for us, so why wouldn't we do the same for you? You're one of us, Sunshine," Sweet Pea reassured her, looking into her eyes until she nodded slowly, comforted by his words as he kissed the top of her head again.
"I'll try to get Jones to come see you," Sweet Pea said, glancing at Betty before leaving the room.
"Is he... sweet?" Betty asked, tilting her head quizzically as Cami let out a laugh, shaking her head lightly.
"He's Sweet Pea," Cami corrected, and a warm smile spread across Betty's face as she nodded in understanding.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
The next morning, Cami was done with the hospital. She was in the process of putting on the clothes Veronica had brought her, all while confidently removing the monitors from her body.
"You know, I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do that," a voice remarked, causing Cami to jump. She turned to see Toni standing there with a smile.
"Care to help me break out of this place?" Cami asked with determination, which made Toni chuckle as she moved to assist her in taking off everything that was attached.
"Alright, let me check to see if anyone's coming," Toni said, and Cami nodded as she slipped on her shoes.
"Let's go," Toni urged, prompting Cami to rush over as she lowered her head, ready to make their escape. Once outside, Cami turned to Toni, her face lit up with excitement.
"So, what's been happening while I was stuck in there?" Cami demanded playfully, causing Toni to laugh.
"Well, Hiram fired FP from Pop's," Toni began, making Cami scoff and shake her head.
"Tall Boy is dead. Something went down with the sheriff, and he got caught up in a firefight. Good riddance, honestly," Toni continued, earning another chuckle from Cami.
"Oh, and Weatherbee is now claiming Riverdale High is 'overcrowded.' That means all the Southside High students are getting transferred to Seaside High, which is two hours away," Toni announced, and Cami turned to her in disbelief, prompting Toni to nod knowingly.
"Weatherbee blames the Southsiders for trashing the school during riot night," Toni explained.
"Didn't Sweet Pea get caught doing just that, though? And by Weatherbee?" Cami questioned, tilting her head.
"Yep," Toni confirmed, and the two began laughing just as Toni's phone rang.
"It's Cheryl; she's supposed to meet us," Toni said, and Cami nodded, chuckling a bit more.
"Wait, what?!" Toni exclaimed suddenly, causing Cami to look at her, concern creeping in.
"Is Cheryl okay? Did something happen?" Cami asked, her worry palpable.
"No, but her mom just warned her that Sheriff Minetta is raiding the Wyte Wyrm tonight. If things turn violent and some Serpents get shot, he'll see it as an opportunity," Toni said, her voice tight with concern, while Cami's expression hardened.
"We need to get to the Wyrm. And I've got some calls to makeโtwo, to be exact," Cami stated firmly as she grabbed her phone and began dialing.
"Cheryl, try to reach Jughead. He and Archie are at the trailer," Toni instructed as they wrapped up their call and hung up. As they walked toward Cami's car, Cami was still on the phone, speaking assertively before hanging up with a determined expression.
"One more call and I'll handle it on the way. Let's roll," Cami said, taking the driver's seat. The two buckled up and sped away from the hospital, heading straight for the Wyrm.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโ
"Take only what you absolutely need, and what you can carry with you," Jughead says as he stands in front of the Serpents at the Wyrm.
"We need to move quickly and quietly. Sheriff Minetta's forces are sweeping through the Southside, and they're on the hunt for us. If we want to keep our heads โ literally โ we have to slip away unnoticed," Jughead advises, his eyes scanning the group, landing on Sweet Pea, who gazes back at him.
"But where are we going? There's nowhere safe," Sweet Pea counters, a flicker of despair crossing his face as Jughead glances at Archie.
"The Northside," a voice breaks through the tension, and everyone turns to see Cami and Toni entering the Wyrm, their expressions serious.
"I've got a... let's say, a friend at the sheriff's station. He shared the patrol routes and timings. We've got thirty minutes before they get here," Cami informs the group, and a shared look of determination passes among them before they spring into action, gathering their essentials.
"You shouldn't be here, Cami. You need to rest," Archie cautions, concern etching his features as he takes in her appearance.
"I'll be fine, Arch. We've got a long night ahead, and Freddie needs our help," Cami insists, meeting Archie's gaze, who finally shows a smile and nods in agreement.
Cami offers a reassuring smile, but her eyes drift past him until they meet Jughead's. He looks away almost immediately, a flicker of guilt shadowing his expression.
"Give me a second," Cami says to Archie, who nods, already moving to assist others in their preparations.
As she approaches Jughead, he tenses and avoids her gaze. The silence between them feels heavy, but Cami breaks it, playfully delivering a soft head slap that catches Jughead off guard.
"It wasn't your fault, Jug," she reassures him, her smile gentle as tears begin to form in his eyes.
"I shouldn't have said you didn't care about us. About me. I shouldn't have called you aโ I'm sorry, Camilla," Jughead stammers, vulnerability pouring from him as Cami cradles his cheek with her hand.
"No, Jug. I should have told you at the beginning. I hated that you found out this way. But I know your words came from a place of hurt. I've faced worse from others it was just the pain that came from seeing that look of betrayal in your eyes," Cami confesses softly, holding his gaze.
"I love you, Jughead, and I'm soโ," Cami starts, but before she can finish, Jughead lunges forward, wrapping his arms tightly around her, resting his head on her shoulder.
"I'm the one who is sorry, Cami. When Dad told me about what happened with Penny, it struck me โ I just can't lose you," Jughead admits, and Cami runs her fingers through his hair soothingly.
"That's never going to happen, Juggie," she whispers, pulling back slightly to inspect the bruises on his face.
"We need to put some medicine on those," Cami insists, and Jughead chuckles, nodding and pulling her into another embrace.
"Alright, as touching as this is, we need to move," Sweet Pea interrupts, rolling his eyes but with a hint of a smirk. Cami chuckles softly as she releases Jughead, planting a quick kiss on the top of his head.
"Let's go, Pea," she says, walking towards Cheryl and Toni, who are anxiously waiting for her.
"You might get her forgiveness, but I won't. If you ever say anything like that again, or if you or your dad ever hurt her, you'll have to deal with me," Sweet Pea warns Jughead, his voice low yet firm.
"Me too," Archie adds, nodding in agreement while Sweet Pea shoots him a look.
"I still haven't forgotten what you did, Carrot," Sweet Pea retorts as he strides towards Cami, leaving a slightly offended Archie in his wake, while Jughead can't help but laugh.
The group quickly exits the Wyrm, slipping through the shadows towards the Northside just as the distant wail of sirens signals the approach of danger, the urgency palpable.
At a clearing, Jughead stops, casting a lingering glance back at the Southside, a sense of anxiety rumbling within him. Archie places a hand on his shoulder, grounding him.
"Come on, Jug. Don't look back," Archie prompts, his tone urging yet supportive. Jughead hesitates momentarily before steeling himself and moving forward, determined to confront whatever lies ahead.

The following morning Fred and Cami work around the kitchen making breakfast for everyone.
"Cam! You really should take a break," Fred urged gently, shaking his head as he watched her plate more fluffy pancakes.
"Maybe later," Cami replied with a soft smile, her heart lifted by the warmth of the freshly baked muffins as she pulled them from the oven. Fred chuckled at her determination, sharing a glance with Jughead and Archie, who were already reaching for a muffin. Cami playfully swatted their hands away, a look of mock disbelief crossing her face at their eagerness.
"Oh, such a good boy," Fred said fondly as he offered a piece of bacon to their dog, Vegas, chuckling at the antics around him.
"Okay, so two dots and a dash, and two chicks on a raft here, Jug," Fred called out as he plated the food, making Cami chuckle at his restaurant-style serving.ย
"Oh, trust me, I've had my fair share of practice at Pop's over the summer," he said with a grin, wielding a piece of bacon like a chef before making his way to hand it to someone.ย ย
Just then, a familiar voice broke through the lively chatter. "What's going on here?" FP asked, stepping in through the open side door. Cami turned to flip the last pancake, her heart warming at the sight of him.
"You did all this?" FP questioned, eyeing Jughead, who looked towards Archie and Cami for support.
"With a little help from Cami and Archie," Jughead clarified, and FP turned toward Cami, shaking his head with a mix of amusement and concern as he gently took the spatula from her.
"You should be resting, you know," FP advised softly, pressing a kiss to her cheek, which made Cami roll her eyes but smile affectionately.
"Bulldogs helping Serpents, and Freddie Andrews opening his home to a bunch of snakes," FP remarked with a chuckle as Fred reentered the kitchen, his smile brightening at the sight of FP.
"There goes your Northside vote, buddy," FP teased, and Fred laughed, taking the plate of pancakes from Cami with gratitude.
"We're all neighbors here. Now, who's ready for pancakes and bacon?" Fred called out, and Cami couldn't help but laugh as she grabbed a plate to fill with food.
"Alright, boys, don't eat all of them," Cami playfully warned the two, who beamed at her before she walked towards FP, now mingling with the other Serpents.
"Baby," Cami called, her heart swelling with affection as FP turned to her, his expression momentarily shifting to one of concern as he looked her over.
"You need to eat something," Cami insisted gently, handing him the plate she had prepared. He shook his head but stepped closer, leaning in to kiss her forehead softly.
"I'll eat if you do," FP replied with a warm smile, and Cami nodded, feeling the connection between them as he guided her to sit on his lap.
With a light laugh, she watched as he cut up a pancake for her, offering her a bite. Even as she rolled her eyes at his sweetness, she took it, her heart swelling with gratitude.
"Thank you, Trouble," FP said, and Cami smiled brightly, returning the affection with a light kiss on his cheek.
"Can you not do this while I'm trying to eat?" Sweet Pea interrupted with exaggerated disgust, making Cami laugh as she playfully ruffled his hair. Just then, two figures rushed toward them, clearly eager for her attention.
"What? Did you already finish off all the muffins?" Cami asked, her smile widening. Sweet Pea looked between them, hopeful.
"We really need your help," Archie said earnestly, and Cami nodded at the two.
"Wait, there are muffins?" Sweet Pea's eyes lit up at the mention, and the others chuckled as he jumped up, darting toward the kitchen. The four shared a laugh, feeling the warmth around them.
"Of course! Just let me know what you need, and I'm on it," Cami said, still chuckling, eager to help them however they needed her to.ย

At Riverdale High Principal Weatherbee steps out of his office heading towards the receptionist.
"Please have this faxed to the superintendent," Weatherbee says just as something catches his eye making him rush towards the hallway he looks to see all his students Northside and Southside with Serpent jackets on.
"What's the meaning of this?" Weatherbee questions angrily as he looks at his students.
"It's a show of support, sir," Archie says making Weatherbee look towards him.
"For the Southsiders who are being wrongly transferred out of our school. Everyone's ready to walk out, Principal Weatherbee," Archie tells the man who looks at him before looking at all the students.
"Any student who walks out better keep walking because they'll be expelled," Principal Weatherbee tells them.ย
"You're a good man, Principal Weatherbee. You're not the kind of person who discriminates. And if you are, then expel me. Because I don't want to be a part of that," Archie tells him as Principal Weatherbee stares at him for a moment.
"Everyone, get to class," Principal Weatherbee tells him before walking walking. Everyone smiles as they begin to do just that. Head to class.
As Jughead begins walking an arm grabs his making him look to see Veronica behind him.
"Jughead, come here," Veronica says making Jughead confused as she pulls him into the student lounge.
"I have insider information that my father is making a play to buy the Whyte Wyrm," Veronica tells Jughead.
"Along with him firing my dad from Pop's," Jughead says scoffing angrily as Veronica looks at him in disbelief.
"What? He did that?" Veronica questions truly surprised.
"Yeah. I won't be eating there anymore," Jughead states as he goes to walk away.
"Wait, Jughead. I was gonna make a play to buy the Wyrm in order to torpedo Daddy's monopolizing of the Southside, but now I'm thinking there's a better, smarter play here. If you trust me, and we move fast," Veronica proposes as Jughead stares at her for a moment.

At the lakeside, the Serpents join together as Cami sits laughing with Fangs, Sweet Pea, and Jughead the trio begging Cami to make them some more brownies but until the foreseeable future, she would not be making them any due to their actions with the war against the Ghoulies. Leading to the boys bribing her when a whistle is heard making everyone turn.
"Listen up now! Hey, listen up!" FP called out, his voice echoing as the music faded away.
"Some 60 years ago, the very first Serpent meeting took place on these same riverbanks. And it makes sense that is where we gather now, where I...where I say my goodbye. Jughead, would you step up here, son?" FP's voice deepened with emotion, and he looked toward Jughead, motioning for him to step up. Jughead exchanged glances with Cami, both of them uncertain about what was unfolding. He stood up, walking towards his father, who placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Dad, what are you doing?" Jughead asked, concern flickering in his eyes as FP's grip tightened slightly.
"What I should've done a long time ago," FP replied, with a tenderness that made Jughead pause, feeling the weight of the moment.
"I'm retiring from the Serpents. For real this time," FP announced, and a chorus of protests erupted from the crowd, while Cami watched in shock, with Sweet Pea placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, sharing in her confusion.
"Whoa," FP said, raising his hands to calm them down. He turned back to Jughead, placing a hand over his heart.
"But my boy...my boy has never stopped fighting for this crew. That's why I'm giving you the mantle," FP says and cheers erupt spontaneously as Jughead gazes at his father, a mixture of pride and disbelief lighting up his face.
"And now, as your first official duty as Serpent King," FP continued, as Toni stepped forward, presenting not one, but two serpent jacketsโone red and the other white.
"...I think you know what to do with this. Take it," FP said, handing Jughead the red jacket first. He accepted it, his smile wide as the crowd erupted in cheers once more.
"All right. All right. All I can say is...I love you, Dad. And the Serpents will not die out. Not on my watch," Jughead declared, and FP wrapped an arm around Cami, as Jughead gestured for Cheryl to join him. He carefully draped her red serpent jacket around her shoulders.
"One more thing," Jughead said, filled with a sense of purpose as FP gently kissed Cami's forehead before stepping closer to hand Jughead the white jacket.
"Now this jacket...," Jughead paused, a smile lighting up his face, "This is for someone very special. Someone who's done so much for all of us. Someone who has protected and sacrificed for us. The Angel of the Serpents," he said, extending his hand toward Cami, who stood frozen in disbelief.
Fangs and Sweet Pea moved towards her, arms outstretched, encouraging her gently. "Come on, Princess," Fangs whispered as they guided her to Jughead, who awaited her with a reassuring smile.
With a tender touch, Jughead helped Cami put on the white serpent jacket, and the air filled with cheers of joy. Turning to him, Cami wrapped her arms around Jughead in a heartfelt hug, and he held her tightly, the bond between them shining brightly amidst the celebrations.

Cami playfully teased, "And now I have my own jacket," as she nestled beside FP, her feet resting in his lap while he gently rubbed her calves, shaking his head at her antics with a warm laugh.
"Yeah, Trouble, you do," FP replied, a tender smile spreading across his face. "But honestly, I have to say, I prefer you in mine." Cami's laughter rang out, and she leaned in for a quick, gentle kiss. FP instinctively leaned forward, trying to catch her, but she playfully pushed him away, both of them unaware of the watchful eyes nearby.
Across the room, Jughead observed the scene intently. Cami animatedly spoke to FP, her face alight with joy as she waved her hands expressively. FP listened intently, a soft, affectionate look in his eyes that Jughead realized he had never seen on his father before.
"They're good together, aren't they?" SweetPea's voice broke through Jughead's thoughts, and he turned to see him captivated by the moment.
"They really do make each other happy," Toni commented, joining Jughead's side and watching the couple.
Jughead nodded slowly, warmth swelling in his chest as Cami's joyous laughter filled the air and FP's radiant smile followed her, making his heart swell with something like hope.
"Everyone always thought she'd end up with Knight, but honestly, it was always FP from the darker side who would fit her best," Cheryl remarked, her gaze fixed on her cousin, who appeared so much brighter and more alive lately.
"You're right," Toni agreed, sharing in the moment. Jughead decided to join them, moving closer to Cami, startling her from her happy reverie.
"So, Cam," he began with an earnest look, "I have a question for you." Cami nodded eagerly, pulling Jughead a bit closer, intrigued.
"What is it, Juggie?" Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she leaned in attentively.
"Does this mean I should start calling you 'Mom' now?" Jughead asked with a teasing lilt, his expression lightening the mood. Cami's eyes widened in surprise, and she playfully slapped him on the back of the head.
"Ouch! Cami, that hurt! How can you be so strong at your height?!" he exclaimed, pretending to be wounded, but the laughter bubbling up that followed showed his affection.
Cami, ready to hit him again, was halted by FP's laughter. "Hey now, don't hurt the kid, Trouble," he quipped, shaking his head fondly while Cami scoffed good-naturedly at their banter.
"I'm 5'7", just so you know," she corrected Jughead, who laughed heartily.
"Sure you are," Jughead replied, playfully dismissing her claim, while Cami giggled, and FP watched the two with a heart full of love, cherishing these lighthearted moments they shared together.

Once out at the lake for a while, Cami headed towards the Andrew house as they waited for mayoral election votes to be counted.
Cami sat on the couch beside Fred as Cami held Fred's hands with a smile just as the phone rang.
Everyone turns to it just as Fred gets up to go and pick up the landline ringing.
"Hello?" Fred says once he answers the phone as everyone waits. Cami stands beside Archie and interlocks their hands making the boy squeeze her as they watch Fred.
"Well, um...I appreciate it. Thanks," Fred says before slowly hanging up the phone as Archie and Cami walk closer to him.
"Hermione won," Fred says turning around and making Cami sigh as she looks at the man.
"I'm sorry, Dad," Archie says just as a knock on the door is heard.
"Dad," Archie calms as Fred heads towards the front door making Archie Veronica and Cami follow after him just as Fred opens the door making everyone surprised at who was on the other side.
"Hello, Fred. May I come in?" Hermione questions making Fred pause before nodding and letting the man in.
"Was it close, at least?" Fred questions Hermione who nods at him.
"Very. Less than 200 votes," Hermione tells Fred as Cami stands beside him sadly squeezing the man's hand.
"So, what, you came to gloat?" Sierra questions staring at the woman.
"No, Sierra. I came to tell Fred that he ran a great campaign," Hermione says holding her hand out to Fred who pauses before shaking her hand making everyone clap as Caki walks closer.
"I did bake a cake. Anyone want a slice?" Cami offers to make people immediately jump up.
"Yes please," Kevin says making Cami laugh as she shakes her head just as her phone vibrates.
Cami looks down at it before responding as she responds before putting her phone back in her pocket.
"Everything okay?" Fred questions making Cami look up at him with a smile.
"Yes, everything is fine. I just have to go in a bit. I'm just getting sleepy," Cami says as she leans and kisses Fred's cheek.
"No matter what you are my mayor, Freddy," Cami says as she squeezes his arm before saying goodbye to everyone as she leans the Andrews house heading towards her car.

At Sweetwater River Cami stands looking at the water as her headlights illuminate her body just as she hears a stick snap.
"You know for what you do you are terrible at sneaking up on someone," Cami states as she turns around looking at the familiar face coming closer.
"Do your Serpents know you're here? FP especially?" Malachi questions as Cami crosses her arms and stares at him as a memory comes back to her.
"You're a true Angel Camilla. Let your dying thought be that your sacrifice was for nothing. And that come morning, Riverdale as you know it will cease to exist," Penny says as she pulls her hand back and punches Cami's jaw whose head turns as she licks the blood off her lips before smirking.
"That's your best shot?" Cami asks her as she looks at Penny.
Penny goes to punch Cami again when something hits her in the back of the head and the blonde falls to the ground unconscious as Malachi stands over her.
"Did you have to punch me so hard?" Malachi complains as Cami scoffs and the Ghoulies let her go as she stands up dusting the dirt off of her.
"I told you not to touch me. So that was your own fault, Kai," Cami tells him as he laughs at her staring at the blonde.
"You know when you showed up while I was in jail offering me your deal this isn't what I thought was going to happen. I was supposed to only be a spy and you were supposed to pay me," Malachi says as Cami throws her hands in the air.
"Well, I didn't expect to have Jughead find out and then be blackmailed into being a sacrificial sheep!" Cami tells him as Malachi huffs at her shaking his head just as a motorcycle is heard coming closer.
"You need to punch me," Cami says making Malachi stare at her wide-eyed.
"Uhm no?" Malachi questions more than states confused as he looks at other Ghoulies who shrug at him.
"This needs to look like Hiram's plan worked to hurt me. Penny will already be a problem. I need to look like I have been attacked and left for dead! You didn't have to do anything terrible just enough. Blood and dirt will make it look worse than it is. Now punch me!" Cami exclaims making Malachi punch her but not with his full body weight.
"Sorry Blondie," Malachi says as he punches her again just as Cami's vision blurries before everything goes black.
"You didn't have to punch me so hard to give me a concussion and unconscious for more than six hours!" Cami exclaims as Malachi stares at her.
"You wanted me to punch you!" Malachi defends confused as he shakes his head.
"I wanted to let you know that Hiram called a meeting tonight. I'll let you know what happens," Malachi says making Cami nod as she heads back towards her car.
"Hey Blondie," Malachi calls making Cami turn to look at him pulling her jacket closer to her.
"This war between you two will not end well. Take it from someone who has been in a few. Hiram won't stop till you're gone. And if this goes wrong everyone you care about will hate you," Malachi warns Cami who nods at him.
"Thanks for the advice Kai," Cami says smiling slightly as she gets in her car and begins driving away as Malachi watches her go.

Opening the door Cami walks into the trailer to see FP waiting for her on the couch.
"Hey I heard about Fred," FP says making Cami sigh as she heads towards him, and once in arm's distance, FP grabs her pulling Cami to sit in his lap as she cuddles into his chest.
"Yeah, he was really upset, but he didn't want to show it," Cami confessed, glancing around for Jughead. "Where's Jug?"
"He went to Pop's with everyone else. I thought you'd be joining them," FP replied, sensing her unease.
Cami shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "They invited me, but I wanted to come home instead... and actually sleep in my own bed," she chuckled softly. FP smiled back, but then his expression shifted slightly, growing more serious.
"You know, we never finished our conversation before everything happened," FP said gently, and Cami felt the tension rise in her chest.
"Do we have to?" she asked hesitantly, wincing at the weight of what was unsaid. Yet FP responded with a warm chuckle, pulling her closer. He took her chin in his hands, tilting her gaze so she was looking right into his eyes.
"Listen to me carefully," FP said, and Cami nodded, wanting to absorb every word.
"It's me and you, Trouble. Got it. It's me and you," FP began, his sincerity making her heart race.
"What happened with the Ghoulies will never happen again. Because if you're going down the rabbit hole then I'm going with me," FP says reassuring her, but Cami shook her head in uncertainty.
"Why?" she whispered, her voice tinged with hope yet edged with fear. FP leaned in closer, his lips almost brushing against hers, and she could see the depth of his feelings in his expression.
"Because I love you, Trouble," he said softly, and the words hung in the air, filled with profound meaning. Cami found herself speechless, caught in the moment, her heart swelling. She leaned in, eager to connect her lips with his.
FP wrapped his arms around her tighter as she straddled him, their kiss deepening. He pulled back slightly to trail kisses down her neck, drawing a soft sigh from her. Cami tangled her fingers in his hair, playfully pulling him back to her lips for quick, affectionate pecks, feeling a surge of emotion.
"Just in case you didn't hear me the first time," she said with a teasing smile, "I love you too." FP beamed at her, an expression of pure joy and relief crossing his face. He gripped the back of her neck and kissed her fiercely as if he needed to breathe her in.
In the heat of the moment, FP grabbed the hem of Cami's shirt, lifting it over her head, their kisses unwavering. Cami, in turn, eagerly fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, needing to feel closer to him.
"MY EYES! UGH!" A voice exclaims followed by gagging making the two rip apart so fast that Cami falls backward and on the floor as Jughead stands at the front door gagging.
"Boy!" FP yells protectively, wrapping a blanket around Cami as she turns to Jughead, both mortified and amused.
"Sorry," Cami said with an awkward wince, before bursting into laughter, the tension instantly lifting. FP shook his head with a smile, while Jughead continued to shiver in disgust, clearly distressed by the unwelcome interruption.
"I think we need to set some ground rules," Jughead said with an exaggerated shudder, his face still scrunched in discomfort.

The next morning, Cami rushed home after receiving a message from her mom, asking to talk.
And then try to hurry up to get to the high school gym where Archie was going to be inaugurated as president.
"Mom?" Cami called as she stepped inside, noticing her mom in the kitchen. Alice looked disheveled, her hair in a messy nest and still in her pajamas and robe.
"Are you okay, Mom?" Cami asked gently, worry etching her features as she looked at Alice, who let out a heavy sigh.
"Camilla I need to ask you something," Alice says her tone laden with concern. Cami nodded, anxiety creeping in as she studied her mother's expression.
"Do you want to be a disappointment? To ruin everything I've tried to accomplish for you?" Alice questioned, her voice tinged with desperation. Cami flinched at the hurtful words.
"What?" Cam questions confusion evident in her eyes as Alice continues.
"FP Jones? Really? A criminal?" Alice shook her head in disbelief, while Cami felt a wave of frustration rise.
"Mom, please stop," Cami said softly but firmly, trying to maintain her composure. Alice's disapproval only deepened.
"What kind of relationship do you think he can offer? You have a bright future ahead! Please don't throw it away for a man who's old enough to be your father, who is essentially just like him!" Alice exclaimed, her voice cracking with emotion. Cami felt the weight of the words as she slammed her hands down.
"You know nothing about my relationship. You do not get to tell me who I can and cannot love," Cami says making Alice scoff at that shaking her head.
"You don't love him! This is lust! He'll use you and toss you aside when he's done. I expected so much more from you, Camilla," Alice said, disbelief painting her features. Cami stared at her, hurt by the accusations.
"Do you truly despise me so much?" Cami questioned, sadness in her voice as Alice remained silent.
"We were making progress! We were finally acting like a mother and daughter should, and now... it feels like everything has flipped back! I just want to understandโwhy?" Cami demanded, her voice breaking as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Because I see you making the same mistakes I did!" Alice exclaimed, her eyes filled with pain. Cami could only stare in shock.
"And I won't let that happen to you, Camilla. My past will not determine your future," Alice insisted, her tone softening with concern.
"I want to protect you, just like I protected Polly," she added, her voice faltering as Cami's confusion deepened.
"Mom, what do you mean?" Cami asked, feeling a growing worry just as two men in white scrubs stepped from the shadows. Cami's heart raced as she shifted her gaze between them and her mother, piecing everything together rapidly.
"WaitโNo, Mom!" Cami started, shaking her head in panic as the men approached. She instinctively tried to pull away from them, but they held her firmly.
"Please, don't do this! Don't! Mom!" Cami pleaded, desperation rising in her voice as she struggled to escape. Tears streamed down Alice's face as she watched her daughter fight against the orderlies.
"I just want to keep you safe, Camilla," Alice said, her voice breaking as the two men began to lead Cami away.
"Mommy, please!" Cami sobbed, her heart aching as she fought against their grip, pleading for her mother to intervene. Alice stood frozen, tears in her eyes, when a gentle hand landed on her shoulder.
"She'll understand one day, Mom," Polly said softly, offering comfort. Alice nodded, her heart heavy as she watched Cami, still desperately trying to break free, calling out for her.
As Camilla Cooper is forcibly dragged away by the orderlies of the Sister of Quiet Mercy from her own home, a parallel scene unfolds in the high school gym where Archie Andrews finds himself cuffed and escorted by the Sheriff, accused of murderโall while Hiram Lodge looks on, a silent witness to the chaos.
In that moment, both the Queen and the Knight are swept off the chessboard simultaneously, their fates intertwined.
