12 - what's your name?

The next day rolled around,
and then started the first day
of work studies.

"Today, we will be doing patrols and surveillance. We'll split up into two groups with me and Bubble Girl, and Mirio, Midoriya, and Y/N," Sir Nighteye explained looked looking back to the four. "Surveillance?" Deku asked looking down, Bubble Girl and Y/N gazed over to him.

"Nighteye Agency is currently working on a secret investigation," Bubble Girl said before Sir spoke again. "Shie Hassikai is a small designated villain group. It's young head...in other words, the number two, Chisaki, has started showing strange actions," Sir laid out, flipping the book on his desk to show the 4 on the other side.

A photo sat upon the book, a male's side profile was shown. A plague mask covered his face, covering up his face from fully distinguishing him from a crowd. The only thing standing out besides the mask was the black button up and white tie. Y/N only looked at the photo, almost burning it into her mind.

"But designated villain groups are under the surveillance of the police, so they usually seem pretty obedient," Deku questioned, as he picked up the photo. Bubble girl answered Deku explaining, "It's because there was a big break up once in the past. But this Chisaki guy is starting to gather then again for some reason. Recently, he's even made contact with the League of Villains. The details are uncover, though".

Deku's eyes widened at the mention causing Y/N to look at him. Her stare was cut short as her attention was brought back to the eldest man in the room. Sir Nighteye spoke again, "But we haven't been able to get any proof that he's planning anything criminal. Because of that the Hassaiki is a gray close to black, and we cannot treat them like villains". Y/N only continued to listen in, pulling at her fingers at everything, how she wished she could be singing and dancing right then.

Sir took the photo looking at it before speaking once again. "What we're after is their tail. Be careful not to let them suspect anything," Sir ordered causing the three students to respond. Three yeses rang out at the same time before they found themselves out to patrol.

As the three walked the streets people couldn't help but point them out. Some even going as far as to compliment the trio, more leaning towards Y/N but the boys got compliments as well. Deku and Mirio spoke within their own circle as Y/N waved to the few children that pointed and waved at her.

Y/N soon stepped up to join in with the duo, creating the new popular trio from earlier. "Now that I think about it, we haven't told each other our hero names, huh?" Mirio asked as Deku nodded. "Th-That's true...I'm Deku!" Deku said as Mirio stared. "Deku? Deck? You're okay with that?" Mirio questioned as Deku agreed. Mirio nodded before speaking for himself, "I'm Lemilion. I don't have to save everyone, but 1,000,000. Not all, but a million-That's what I want to do, so that's why I chose Lemilion!" Mirio bragged a bit happy to explain himself.

He soon turned to Y/N, ushering her to say her name. Y/N looked down a bit embarrassed at the name, how was her name supposed to be remotely as good as Lemilion or Deku. "It took me a bit of time but I thought Lotus fit me. I always thought that Lotuses were beautiful, for them to grow from the depths of a murky bayou to emerge to the top and be considered beautiful was kind of inspiring in a way," Y/N confessed.

Y/N continued even in the boy's silence, "They've kind of just remind me of the constant world I've been put in as an idol, it kind of plays into my part in class now. I'm like an underdog compared to everyone, but I'll earn my spot the right way, fair and square. I mean that's what a friendly sibling rivalry is right!". There it was that family stick, it was perfect for a girl like Y/N.

To be seen as an older sibling that always cares for family. It suited her weirdly still, seeing her as some reliable and relatable at the same time. She was good to say the least, and there was quite a bit to say about the girl. Sooner or later she'd definitely be the nation's sister or something with her attitude.

Deku especially couldn't help but feel his feelings get the better of him. Her hero suit was already pretty when they were getting their license, but this one was fat better. The white bodysuit with some of the same fun cut outs sat firmly on Y/N's body. Seeing the fit of the costume was enough to bring back memories.

Two lotuses sat on her, one on her waist above her leg cutout and the other on her right shoulder. Both lotuses held pink sheer covers that wrapped around her in the air. Accommodating her arm was her
trusty hook bracelet designed to look like a vine wrapping around her forearm.

The boys could only stare more to the girl in behind them. She was just to much for them some time, and to think she was just graced into their lives so easily. Mirio gave a thumbs up before speaking, "Once we put on our costumes and go out into the streets, we're heroes, so don't let your guard down, Deku, you too Lotus!".

Deku nodded, "We won't, Lemilion!" he reassured as Y/N nodded as well. The trio soon began back walking for their patrol. Heavy pants soon raced through Y/N's left ear causing her to glance over. A girl ran closer and closer as she made distance with whatever was chasing or following her. Before she got any further she slammed head first into Deku's side, causing her to fly back on impact.

Y/N instantly dropped to one knee, holding the girl before she fully fell to the concrete sidewalk. The girl seemed to be a bit obvious to the grasp she was in as she loked to the man she bumped into. Deku apologized, "Sorry, that must've hurt," before bringing a hand out. Her eyes widened as she shifted slightly back more into Y/N's arms.

"Can you stand? Are you okay?" Deku questioned as he tried to help her up. Her trembles could be felt in both of the first years grasps. 'Is she scared?' Y/N questioned a new person came to the scene. "Now, you know...you can't go around causing trouble for the heroes," an older man said making his presence fully known.

Y/N looked up to him, she knew this man. The same man from earlier this morning was right in front of her. His eyes burned holes into hers as they seemingly stared down each other. "I'm sorry about my daughter, hero. She likes to play around a lot and keeps getting hurt. I don't know what to do with her," Chisaki apologized as he laughed it off a bit.

Mirio soon pulled Deku's hood back up, covering his face from Chisaki. "Your good and mask came off again. Maybe the sizing's off?" Mirio deflected trying to not get the three caught. Deku looked down understanding the face he made at seeing Chisaki. "With that lovely mask, you must be from the Hassikai, right? You guys are famous around here," Mirio said before Chisaki spoke.

"Yes, don't worry about the mask. I'm sensitive to filth. It's my first time seeing you three heroes tho," Chisaki responded as he looked over the three. Mirio smiled before rubbing his neck. "Right! We're still nee, so we're pretty nervous. Now stand up, partners! Let's head toward a future we haven't seen yet!" Mirio let out.

Before the two first years could move a muscle Chisaki asked a question. "What agency do you belong to?" he questioned as Y/N shook her head no, Mirio following suit after. "We're students! We're still so new that it would be presumptuous to identify with an agency. We're just gaining some experience in different places for our internships. Anyway, we need to finish patrolling this division by lunch. Let's go!" Mirio said, turning away so the three could leave to finish and report.

Deku began to get up following behind Mirio. Y/N followed swiftly after only for the little girl to roughly grab onto Y/N's arm, scratching it a bit to cause it to turn red from irritation. The girl cried out, "D...Don't go..." as tears formed in her eyes at thought of the heroes leaving. Her trembling worsened as Y/N felt herself hold tightly onto the girl, she couldn't let go.

"Your daughter seems scared...did something happen?" Y/N questioned as she felt her leader instincts kick in. The male's gaze onto Y/N darker a bit as she invaded his personal matters. "It's because she just got a scolding," he responded quickly. Y/N teased up at the explanation, slowly letting go of the girl she felt the little gi tighten even rougher on her, now digging her fingers into Y/N's suit.

Y/N in instinct wrapped her arms around the girl again, hugging her like she would younger trainees. She doubled down even more on Chisaki, speaking her mind on his daughter. " I don't think these bandages are from "playing around too much". I've seen and been through what's it's like to play around to much, it's never this severe," Y/N let her opinion out.

Chisaki doubled down as well, "She falls a lot". "Well explain her trembling? Kid shouldn't tremble this much without a sound from them. Trust me I know it's not normal, I practically raised kids where I'm from," Y/N herself explained as Chisaki stared down at her. "Please don't force your "normal" on other people's families," Chisaki warned before Mirio spoke.

"Everyone has different dispositions, right?" Mirio let out, frustrated a bit out Y/N's prying to the villain. He was surprised at her boldness but knew it wasn't going help in that moment. Y/N gritted her teeth before speaking once again, her tone was low almost deathly to the man in front of her. "Now I'll ask one more time, what are you doing to this girl?" Y/N warned as a aura flew through the air, it smelled of venom in the hot putrid sun's rays.

The villain only sighed, lighting the mood up a bit as he looked to the defensive Y/N. "Jeez, heroes are so sensitive to the subtle signs in people, huh? Very well. It's embarrassing to talk about it. People are watching here, so you come this way with me?" Chisaki spoke turning back to the alley and walking.

Mirio led the trio down the alley, followed by Deku and Y/N holding onto the girl. Y/N throughout the whole journey looked down to the little girl, whispering she was there for her and everything would be okay. The girl was calm in her arms, feeling a warmth so close to normal healthy love, she liked her she needed her to save her.

As the group traveled farther down the alley Chisaki spoke. "Actually, recently, I've had a lot of problems with Eri. She just keeps defying me no matter what I say," he confessed as he threw a hand out. "Parenting, huh? It must be hard," Mirio inquired as Chisaki responded. "Yes, children are hard to understand. They feel like they can and will become someone.." he let on as he slid a finger into his glove, pulling it up.

Y/N watched him as Eri seemed to almost in an instant jumped out of Y/N's arms. The girl held her hand trying to get her to come back, it didn't work as the girl scared fled back up to Chisaki. A look of panic painted her face before she lowed her head next to Chisaki. He looked down to her as she followed him. "What, done with your tantrum already?" she nodded as her fist tightened.

"Huh? Um, Eri?" "She's always like this. I'm sorry you had to listen to my problems, too. Sorry for the trouble. Well, do your best at work," Chisaki apologized before walking off with Eri. Y/N stared the male down as her heart broke for the little girl. What was she supposed to do in a situation like this now. She was heated, rightfully so but she knew what they needed to do.

As the rain poured I listened to Sir and the rest of the group. We stood at the crossroad next to a convenient store, taking in everything that happened. "Sorry! It was an accident! I never thought we'd run into him like running into a transfer student at a crossroads," Mirio apologized. Sir shut it down however saying, "No, this was my fault. We could've avoided this if I'd used Foresight on you three beforehand".

Bubble girl only thanked that we got out of the situation safe and sound. I nodded and listened in on the latest news on Chisaki and Hassaiki. My mind however just replayed images of Eri. The look of fear and sadness washed over her face every second I was around her. I couldn't stop the feeling of her gripping onto me even if I wanted to.

Sooner than I thought I cleared my mind to listen to Sir. "First, we must predict what our opponent would do and after analyzing it, arrange for the most complete preparation preparations possible. This world isn't so lenient that you can save her with good intentions. The truly wise villains hide in the shadows. Know that sometimes, things will take time. The three of you should go back to the office today. Bubble, let's go," Sir laid down before walking away with Bubble girl.

I felt heavy, it was my first work study day and I felt drained. It was a somber feeling walking back, and even worse when we got back to the school. I'm into the shut off everything around me for the night I just needed to wrap my head around what I been through.

Laying in bed I could only look at the ceiling, wondering what would have happened if I done something else. It doesn't matter now, nothing mattered in the moment. I just know I need to save Eri, even at the cost of my life.
