(act two, chapter eight: rose)

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

It was a secluded country area where a SUV stopped in the morning of a sunny day.Β  Another black car was waiting for that said SUV, since it was the place the man from inside the SUV had made the human come too so he could hand them over to him. The man inside the waiting car stepped outside once he heard the SUV approaching his own car.

The man quickly left his own car from the moment he had seen it driving up next to his car. He slowly walked around his own car over to SUV, just to be greeted with a man, who was sitting in the driving seat, wearing a black hoodie with the cap over his head and a pair of sunglasses placed in front of his eyes for the sun. The SUV also had tinted windows, keeping the sun from coming into the car at any time.

In other words: the perfect car for a vampire who wanted to drive around during daytime.

"Where are they?" The man with the hoodie and sunglasses asked the human.

The man answered. "In the trunk. I did exactly what you said."

Trevor nodded being pleased that he finally had the solution of their problem. "Good, put them in the back." He finally had what he needed to strike a deal with the Originals, the vampires he and his best friend had been running from for more than 500 years.

The two girls would make sure they wouldn't have to run anywhere else ever again.

The man walked around to the back of his own car, opening the trunk before going back over to his car. He opened the door which allowed the sun to shine on the unconscious doppelgΓ€nger's face as he softly picked her up and went back over to the SUV and laid her down in the trunk.

The man quickly went back for the blonde a nod before returning back to his car, picking up the Sommers girl and put her down next to her cousin.

"Wait." Trevor spoke, catching the man's attention. Trevor was looking through the rear-view mirror and smiled at the sight of the newly human doppelgΓ€nger and the girl he knew was more important to the Originals than the doppelgΓ€nger would ever be. And the doppelgΓ€nger was already too important to lose track of. "Put the blonde in the backseat."

And the man did once more what was asked of him before joining Trevor again by the front of the car after he was done closing the trunk of the SUV again, with now both of the girls inside the car.

"Thank you for your help." Trevor gave the man a short nod of appreciation.

"Is there anything else?" The man asked, hoping to be helpful for Trevor, like he was compelled to do.

Trevor nodded another short nod. "One more thing." The man smiled, nodding immediately. "Come closer, please." Trevor said as the man hadn't moved any closer and he was too far away from the car to do what Trevor had to do. The man obeyed, getting closer to the black tinted window, however he was still not close enough for Trevor. "Closer." Trevor repeated, and the man's head moved more closer, almost through the window that Trevor was slowly sliding down.

Trevor bit the man, feeding of him until he died and when he was dead, Trevor threw the man down to the ground and sped the SUV out of the country area. Not caring about the dead man on the ground or that anyone would find him. He was just feeling happy that he had the doppelgΓ€nger and the blonde in his possession.

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

The SUV arrived at and old house, parking in the backyard. It was an old house, but it was definitely a classic house. When the two of them had found it they had pretty much been dissapointed at the state of the house inside, but this house was the only one they could find to do what they had to do.

Trevor took Buffy inside first, laying her on the couch gently.

He went back outside so he could get Elena, who was already more conscious by the time that Trevor had opened the trunk of the SUV. He quickly picked her up and walked back inside, putting her down right next to the still knocked out Buffy, on who's head was dried up blood.

He took of his sunglasses and his cap as these didn't matter so much inside as they did outside. He sat down to remove the rope, which were bound around Buffy's ankles. Than he removed the same rope, which bound Buffy's arms together. When he was done, he went over to Elena and started doing the same with her ropes.

"What do you want?" Elena asked in a scared tone as Trevor was so close to her. He shushed her, placing a finger on his lips before carrying on.

"Please, I'm hurt." Elena begged as Trevor finally undid the knot of the rope around her wrists and quickly undid the knot in the rope around her ankles.

"I know." He said, throwing both of the ropes on the ground next to the couch and leaned in closer to Elena's neck. "Just a taste." The veins under his eyes were already appearing.

Elena screamed as she felt his breath on her neck and luckily for her she was heard by his best friend. "Trevor! Control yourself!" Rose screamed, making Elena look up and Trevor looked around.

"Buzzkill." He spoke to her before walking away, leaving Rose behind with a conscious Elena and an unconscious Buffy.

"What do you want with us?" Elena asked her.

"Oh my god, you look just like her." Rose said looking at the Gilbert, fascinated as she walked closer to the her but she was still in disbelief on the fact the there really was a human doppelgΓ€nger. She had never expecting it to be actually true.

"But I'm not. Please, whatever you-" Elena was cut off.

"Be quiet!" Rose snapped at her in anger.

"But I'm not Katherine. My name is Elena Gilbert. You don't have to do this to us." Elena said as she stood up and walked over to Rose, begging her to let her go.

"I know who you are, I said be quiet." Rose repeated her words.

"What do you want?" Elena asked again.

Because she still didn't stop talking, the vampire got angry and she slapped Elena, hard, causing the doppelgΓ€nger to fall on the couch, yet again, unconscious.

"I want you to be quiet." Rose said, before leaving the room but not without going in Buffy's direction, moving a piece of hair that fallen in front of her eyes, back behind her ear. The blonde was pretty. Even more beautiful than on the painting that Rose had seen of her. It made the vampire quite sad that they would have to hand her over to the Original.

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

"Buffy!" Elena said as she shook her sister awake and with a groan the blonde opened her eyes.

"My head." Buffy muttered, a hand going to the place that the man had used to knock her out, looking down at the hand to see drops of blood hanging on it.

Where are Stefan and Damon when you actually need them?

"Are you okay?" Her sister asked.

"I will be, don't worry. You?" Elena nodded. "Where are we?" Buffy asked her but Elena shushed her. For a few seconds it offended Buffy, but then she heard why Elena had done it.

"How are the girls?" A woman's voice asked another person and Buffy looked questionable at Elena.

What the hell are we kidnapped for now again?

"Both are still passed out." Trevor answered, having no idea that the two of them were actually listening on their conversation right now.

"You didn't touch them, did you?" Rose asked worriedly. Especially if one of the two girls got hurt because of them they could say bye bye to their free lives. Or just their lives.

"Give me some credit. So you called him?"

"No, I called one of his contacts. You know how this works."

"Look, did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?" The man asked again and Elena placed her finger once more on her lips before signalling Buffy to follow her up the stairs so they could find out more.

"They say he got it." Rose said.

"Wonderful. And what?" Trevor asked and the two human girls saw them pass the room as they entered another hallway.

"So that's it. He either got it or he didn't. We just have to wait."

"Look, it's not too late. We can leave them here. We don't have to go through with this."

"I'm sick of running."

"Yeah? Well running keeps us from dying." The man spoke back to Rose as Elena pointed at a door at the end of the hall, right besides where there kidnappers were standing.

"Elijah's old school. If he accepts our deal, we're free." Rose spoke to Trevor as the two sisters moved over to the door, but one of the floorboards under Elena's foot cracked, making both Rose and Trevor look in their direction.

"You two!" Rose spoke in angry tone, but Buffy knew it was more of a worried emotion. They clearly needed her and Elena for something and if they would get away, that 'deal' she was speaking off would be off. "There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. Understand?"

"Who's Elijah?" Elena asked as Rose started to walk away, but when she answered the Gilbert's question, she looked at Buffy.

"He's your worst nightmare." And this time Rose actually walked away

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

"How does this work?" Jeremy asked while opening a big map and placing it on a desk between himself and Bonnie.

"I'll use your blood to draw the energy for the spell. You're blood-related, it'll make the connection stronger." Bonnie explained to her best friend's brother before turning to Alaric. "Since you're Buffy's biological dad, the connection between your blood and hers will be stronger than hers and Jeremy's. Just in case she would be somewhere else, which I doubt." Alaric let out a small nod with a worried frown on his face. His mind was going all sort of places about what could've happened to his daughter.

Stefan walked into the classroom as well with a bag full of weapons that Alaric had handed him when Stefan told him about what was happening.

"Are you ready?" Bonnie asked them both before making a small cut in Jeremy's palm, making him let out a little grunt from the pain as the Gilbert let his blood drop slowly on the map, right above Mystic Falls. Bonnie quickly repeated doing the same with Alaric's palm.

Both drops of blood started moving and didn't stop until they stood by 'Reidsville'. Bonnie spoke, relieved that it had worked. "There. They're there."

"That's 300 miles away." Jeremy spoke.

"No, Bonnie we need a more exact location than that." Stefan said to her.

"That's as close as I can get." Bonnie answered.

"We can map it. Airview. It'll help us narrow down the area." Jeremy said to the others.

"Perfect, call me with whatever you find." Stefan said, standing up and walking to the door, leaving the other two behind.

"No, no, I'm coming with you." Jeremy said, ready to follow behind Stefan and so was Alaric, only both of them were stopped by said Salvatore.

"No, you're not." Stefan warned, shaking his head.

"I'm not just gonna sit here." He started to argue. "What if they're hurt? Or worse." Neither of the men noticed that Bonnie's nose had started to bleed, but the Bennett quickly wiped it off before anyone would actually notice it.

"They're not. Just go back to your house. Just in case. I'm gonna call when I find them." Stefan said to Jeremy while grabbing the bag with weapons.

"You can't do this alone, Stefan." Alaric spoke to him as the door opened and now Damon walked inside. "He's not. Come on."

"You're coming with me?" Stefan questioned, surprised.

"It's Buffy." Damon answered.

"I'm her fath-"

"You're not coming." Damon cut the history teacher off before turning around and leaving the room, with Stefan following behind him.

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

While Buffy entered the room which Trevor was in, Elena followed after Rose. "Why are we here?" She asked while Rose turned on a lamp to search between a lot of books.

"You keep asking me these questions like I'm gonna answer them." Rose spoke to her as she put a cover over the window to stop the sunlight from coming in.

"Why won't you?"

"There's another one." Rose said while now covering up the windows.

"You got us okay? It's not like we can go anywhere? The least you can do is tell me what you want." Elena said, trying to nudge Rose in the direction that she would tell her why she had kidnapped her and and her sister.

"I personally want nothing. I'm just a delivery service." Rose replied with a shrug.

"Delivery to who? Elijah?" Elena asked, since that had been the only name she had heard them use while she and Buffy were awake.

Rose let out a small laugh. "Two points to the eavesdropper."

"Who's he? Is he a vampire?"

"He's one of the vampires. The Originals." Rose answered, going through some books on the table where she had turned on the lamp earlier, but neither Elena's questions or the old books seemed to take her interest.

"What do you mean 'The Originals'?"

"Again with the questions. Haven't the Salvatore's been teaching you vampire history?"

"So you know Stefan and Damon?" Elena asked, a bit surprised.

"I know of them. A hundred years back, a friend of mine tried to set me up with Stefan. She said he was one of the good ones. More a sucker for the bad boys, though, but I digress."

"Who are the Originals?" Elena asked, finally stepping off the stairs and coming closer to the vampire.

"Trevor and I have been running from them for 500 years. We're tired. We want it over. We're using you and Buffy to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess." Rose said, turning around to look at Katarina's doppelgΓ€nger.

"But why me?" Elena asked her confused.

"Because you're a Petrova doppelgΓ€nger. You're the key to breaking the curse."

"Curse?" Elena asked confessed before she knew what Rose was talking about. "The Sun and the Moon curse?"

"You do know your history." Rose said after rolling her eyes.

"What do you mean, I'm the key? The moonstone is what breaks the curse." Elena said.

"No. The moonstone is what binds the curse. Sacrifice is what breaks it." Rose told her.

"Sacrifice?" Elena asked.

"The blood of the doppelgΓ€nger. You're the doppelgΓ€nger. Which means in order to break the curse, you're the one that has to die." Rose spoke.

"Tell me more."

"Captivity has made her pushy, eh? What do you wanna know, doppelicious?" Trevor asked, catching everyone's attention to him as he and Buffy walked in, Buffy holding a chocolate bar in her left hand. She didn't even want to know why the had it. She had already been surprised when Trevor actually handed it to her when she asked him for some.

Buffy came to a stop next to Elena, handing the chocolate out to her, but Elena shook her head, declining the offer, making Buffy happy that she had more.

Elena asked as she turned to Trevor. "Who are you running from?"

"The Originals." Trevor simply answered Elena.

"Yeah, she said that but what does that mean?" She asked him confused.

"The first family. The Old World. Rose and I pissed them off-" Rose made a noise, making Trevor notice he should correct himself. "Correction, I pissed them off. Rose had my back and for half a millennium they've wanted us dead." He said, throwing a book at Elena's feet, making her let out a gasp.

"What did you do?" Buffy asked, curiously.

"He made the same mistake others did. He trusted Katerina Petrova." Rose said.

"Katherine." Elena said.

"The one and only. The first Petrova doppelgΓ€nger."

Trevor started to speak again. "I helped her escape her fate, and now I've-" Rose coughed. "sorry, we've been marked ever since."

"Even more reasons to want the bitch dead." Buffy muttered but she was heard by the vampires.

"What did she do to you?" Trevor asked.

"Killed our best friend. Stabbed my mom. Many more things." Buffy replied with a grimance on her face at even the thought of her sister's doppelgΓ€nger.

Rose turned back around as she was walking towards the door, while Elena and Trevor were speaking. "Which is why we're not gonna make the same mistake again."

"What does Buffy have to do with this?" Elena asked before Rose actually left the room.

"While you are the doppelgΓ€nger who needs to be sacrificed-"

"Hold on, what?" Buffy asked confused since she had missed the entire conversation between Rose and her sister. "I'm sure you're cool and all, Rose, right?" Buffy asked and Rose nodded. "But, if you think I'm just gonna let you hand over my sister to this Elijah dude just so she can be sacrificed, you're totally nuts."

Rose gave the girl a small smile as she noticed how protective the two were of each other. "I don't think the spotlight will be on your sister when Elijah comes in. It will be on you."

"And why is that?" Elena asked her.

"Because she is the girl from the paintings." Rose spoke.

"What paintings?" Buffy asked her even more confused. Why would some random stranger have a painting of her?

That's fucking creepy.

"I don't know the details exactly, okay? I just know that they have been searching for you longer than they have for her." Rose nodded at Elena, before turning back to Buffy. "It's what makes you more important than your sister. You're the soulmate of the Originals."

"This is a joke, right?" Buffy asked, feeling like they were definitely playing a joke on her.

"It is-" Trevor was cut off.

"See, no problem." Buffy spoke to Elena who was staring worriedly at her sister as she heard Rose's word.

"-not." Trevor ended his sentence, being amused on how much she was trying to deny it to herself.

"Whatever you say, Mr. I-am-named-the-same-as-a-fucking-toad." Buffy spoke, frustrated as she passed him and Rose, who's eyes worriedly followed after the girl.

"What?" Trevor asked.

"500 years alive and never seen or read Harry Potter." Buffy said with a gasp, but the girl didn't look back. "Can you believe that, Elena?" Once again she didn't wait for Elena's answer as she continued her way back to the couch Elena had woke her up.

Since Buffy was back to the couch they were on earlier than Elena, she found a paper on it, handing it to Elena as the girl also entered the room.

Stefan and Damon are coming for you two. -B

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

"He's here! This was a mistake!" Trevor yelled as he entered the room where the Gilbert's were currently sitting in and so was Rose, still moving painting in front of the windows because of the sun.

"No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me." Rose said to him.

"No! He wants me dead, Rose!" Trevor spoke, fearfully.

"He wants them more." Rose pointed to the two girls sitting on the couch?

"I can't do this. You give her to him, he let you leave but I need to get out of here."

"Hey!" Rose said, loudly, grabbing his hand. "What are we?" She asked, trying to calm him down.

"We're family, forever." Trevor said after taking a breath, trying to slow down his breathing. The lovely family moment was sadly interrupted by a loud knock on the door.

"You're scared." Elena noticed.

"Elena, I love you, but now you're just stating the obvious." Buffy spoke, not looking away from the two fighting vampires in front of her. She hadn't said much in the last hour, not knowing how to actually react to the news of her being the soulmate to a bunch of people who want to murder her sister.

How does one react to that?

"Stay here with them and don't make a sound." Rose said to Trevor, before she left the room to open the front door to let Elijah in, however it was already standing wide open when she arrived at the bottom of the stairs with Elijah standing on the threshold.

"Rose-Marie. Is there somewhere we can talk?" He asked as he saw one of the vampire his family had been looking for so long standing on the stairs.

"Yes, in here." She nodded her head to the room on his left, her right. "You have to forgive the house." She said, a little nervous with how wrong this could go.

"Oh, no, what's a little dirt? I completely understand." Elijah said as he closed the door behind him and walked over to the other room. "So tell me, what is it that gave you the courage to call me?" He asked, but the more he entered the house, he felt the energy that was in the house change, giving him the feeling that something he really wanted was here.

Or someone...

"I wanted my freedom. I'm tired of running. You are in a position to accord me that?" Rose asked.

"I have complete authority to grant pardon to you and your little pet. What is his name these days? Trevor.. if I so see fit."

"Katerina Petrova." Rose spoke.

"I'm listening." He said, turning around with interest.

"She didn't burn in the church in 1864." Rose said.

"Continue." Elijah said, sitting down in an old chair that stood in the corner of the room.

"She survived." Rose informed him.

"Where is she?" Elijah asked, not being very surprised. Of course the Petrova girl had found a way out of facing death once more.

"You don't seem surprised by this."

"Oh, when you called and invited me into this arm pities civilization, which at 3 hours from the town we know as Mystic Falls, I surmise it had everything to do with Katerina. Do you have her in your position?" He asked.

"No but I have better. I have her doppelgΓ€nger." Rose said, surprising Elijah, but he couldn't let her see that.

"That's impossible, her family line ended with her. I know that for fact." Elijah said, shaking his head once.

"The facts are wrong." Rose said.

"Well, show her to me." Elijah said, while sitting more straight up.

"Elijah, you are a man of honor, you can be trusted but I want to hear you say it again." She said, stepping closer to the original.

"You have my world, I will pardon you." Elijah said, being careful with his words.

"I also have someone else." Rose spoke, carefully. Elijah looked at her, telling her to continue. "Elizabeth."

Hearing her name caught him off guard for a few seconds. He had given up hope that she actually existed around 100 years into his vampire life, but that never made him stop looking for her. Despite not believing his mother's words were true anymore, he had never stopped dreaming about the blonde girl with the beautiful name. There was never a day that Elizabeth didn't cross his mind.

It didn't matter if it was day or night, seeing her never failed to make him happy.

"If you are lying to me-" Elijah spoke with a warning in his voice.

"I'm not." Rose quickly spoke. "Follow me." Rose spoke, relieved that everything till now had gone right.

Even though Elijah's first thought was to look for his mate in the room, his eyes fell on Elena first, who was pacing in front of the couch her sister was on, coming to a stop right in front of her as Elena heard footsteps coming in their way.

As soon as Elijah saw her, he used his vamp speed to go over to her. The girl stood quite still as the Original sniffed her neck, while Buffy stared weirdly at him for doing so. "Human, it's impossible." The Original spoke, but when his head moved away from Elena's neck, he saw the girl he had actually wanted to see.

His girl.

He pulled her off the couch, but in a soft and calm way, not one that could cause her anymore harm than she was in already. One of his hands resting on her waist as he used the other one to move her hair so that he could look better at the wound at her forehead. His eyes slowly looking at her wrist were blood was left on from when she tried to stop Elena's bleeding last night.

"Drink." He spoke to her, rolling up his sleeve, biting in his wrist and holding it up right in front of her mouth. "Please, Elizabeth." He spoke and finally Buffy looked him in his eyes, to see them full of worry.

So Buffy leaned in.

Why?

She didn't know.

She just knew that this stranger, who was supposed to be her soulmate if she believed Rose and Trevor, and by the way the man in front of her was behaving she was really starting to believe that, his blood tasted better Caroline's or Damon's.

When she pulled back, his hand was still on her waist.

"Buffy." The blonde muttered out, meeting his eyes once more but she was distracted by his hand on her waist. The Original's eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. He, however had been to busy with healing his mate, that he had long forgotten about the three others in the room. "My name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Buffy." The girls explained, finding it weird that he knew her birth name.

The only way he could have known it was if what Rose and Trevor had told them was true, right?

"Buffy." Elijah repeated, her name rolling off his lips like it was meant to be.

Which it was.

Elijah released his grip from her waist, making the girl let out a gasp as he stepped back. Elena immediately pulled her sister next to her in a protective way.

"We have a long journey ahead. We should be going."

"Please, don't let him take us." Elena begged by Rose, who looked down, feeling sorry that she can't do anything to help them.

"One last piece of business. Then we're done." Elijah spoke, as if he hadn't heard Elena's words. He turned around and walked over to Trevor, who almost directly started apologizing to the Original.

"I've waited so long for this day, Elijah. I'm truly very sorry." He said, nervously as Elijah started circling around him.

"Oh, no, your apology is not necessary."

"Yes, it is. You trusted me with Katerina and I failed you."

"Well, yes, you are the guilty one. And Rose aided you because she was loyal to you, that I honor. Where was your loyalty?" Elijah asked, coming to a stop in front of him.

"I beg your forgiveness." Trevor begged, and Elijah gave him one more smile.

"So granted." Elijah said, smirking before smacking Trevor's head of with his arm. Rose let out a loud scream, the agony hearable in her voice as she cried over her now extra dead friend. Elena stood still from being shocked and Buffy's hand went up to her mouth, also letting out a gasp from what had just happened as she stared at Trevor's body without the man's head.

"You!" Rose screamed at the Original, who was unbothered by what he had just done, already back to looking at Buffy. The expression of fear was the thing that was bothering him.

"Don't, Rose, now that you are free." Elijah said, acting as if he did the woman a favor before holding out both of his hands for Elena and Buffy. "Come."

"No, what about the moonstone?" Elena asked, coming up with nothing else to stall him. If they could just distract him for as long as possible, Stefan and Damon would save them like they always did.

"What do you know about the moonstone?"

"I know that you need it. And I know where it is."

"Yes." Elijah spoke, expectingly waiting for her answer.

"I can help you get it."

"Tell me were it is."

"It doesn't work that way."

"Are you negotiating with me?" Elijah asked with amusement as he turned to look at Rose, silently asking if she had anything to do with that.

"It's the first I've heard of it."

Elijah tried to compel Elena, but it didn't seem to work. He noticed the necklace around her neck. "What is this vervain doing around your neck?" He asked, ripping the necklace off in one single movement, threw it to the side before compelling her to tell him the truth. He grabbed the back of her head, but he didn't even have to speak anymore as he got his answer from his mate.

"It's in the tomb underneath the church ruins." Buffy yelled out as she saw how harsh Elijah's grip was on her sister.

"What is it doing there, Elskan?" Elijah asked, letting go off Elena once he saw Buffy's worry.

Els- what?

"It's with Katherine." Buffy spoke.

"Interesting." Said Elijah as they heard a noise above from them. "What is that?" He asked Rose, immediately abandoning his spot in front of Elena, and going over to Buffy, pulling her against him, so that whoever made that sound couldn't get to her.

Elena and Buffy shared a look, missed by both Rose and Elijah. Elena let out a breath. They had stalled long enough.

"I don't know." Rose answered also alarmed. She hadn't expected anyone to show up here since it was so abandoned.

"Who else is in this house?" Elijah demanded of the vampire with anger, thinking that she and Trevor had betrayed him once more.

"II don't know." Rose replied.

Elijah roughly grabbed Elena's arm, as he softly and carefully, so he wouldn't end up hurting her, pulled Buffy with them as they walked up the stairs. The four of them went to the front door off the house, where Elijah and Rose had been talking a few minutes ago. A person moved behind them, causing Elijah to push Elena over to Rose, but he held on to Buffy since he especially didn't want her to get away from him.

Another person used their vampire speed to move to the top of the stairs.

"Rose." Elijah spoke with a warning.

"I don' t know who it is."

"Up here." A voice spoke after the other person crossed them again.

Stefan's voice, meaning that Damon was the one to have passed them.

Elijah handed Buffy over to Rose, giving the vampire a warning look, telling her if anything were to happen to the pretty blonde, her head would go next like Trevor's, before going up the stairs, him with his vampire speed as well.

"Down here." Damon's voice came from the room besides the three girls, catching the Original off guard as he turned around to look where the voice came from. Not even two seconds later a stake flew straight in his hand.

He quickly removed it and threw it to the ground in anger when he noticed that his mate was gone, taken away by the person who had been downstairs.

Buffy let out a breath as she looked at the person holding her and Rose. Him silently asking if she was okay.

The blonde nodded, reassuring the oldest Salvatore.

"Excuse me. To whom it may concern. You're making a great mistake if you think that you can beat me. But you can't. Do you hear that?" Elijah asked, breaking a old wooden coat rack into two pieces and picked the biggest piece as a giant stake. "I repeat, you cannot beat me. So I want the Elizabeth and the other girl on the count of three or heads will roll. Do we understand each other?"

Damon looked down at Buffy with a questionable look on his face on how the man downstairs knew her name.

Elena appeared on the top of the stairs, surprising Damon and Buffy who heard her. "I'll come with you but just please don't our friends, they just wanted to help us out."

Elijah vamp sped to her with the stake still in his hand. "Where is Buffy? What game are you playing with me?" He asked but in reply Elena threw one of Alaric's vevain bombs, in his face, making it explode. His skin burned making the vampire scream before quickly healing.

Stefan arrived and shot him with the compress air weapon for a few times, but it didn't seem to hurt Elijah one bit so Stefan threw the weapon aside and rushed over to Elijah, both fell down the stairs as he did so.

Elijah got up more earlier than Stefan, going forwards to attack him but Damon came up from behind him with the stake that Elijah had made and staked in Elijah's heart, pressing the stake in the front door. As he was doing so, Buffy appeared in the room and his eyes went over to her.

Elijah's lifeless body was staked to the door as the veins started to grown on his face. And as soon as Rose saw him, she turned around and left the house. Damon wanted to follow her but Elena's voice stopped him. "Just let her go."

He smiled at her as Elena quickly ran down the stairs to embrace his brother.

"You okay, Buffy?" Damon asked as Buffy hugged him.

"I am." The girl replied, not taking her eyes away from the Original until she pulled herself away from Damon's arms.

─── β‹†β‹…β˜†β‹…β‹† ──

"Who's there?" Stefan called through the boarding house as he heard some noises and heard someone passing by him by using their vampire speed like he and Damon had done hours ago when they saved the two cousins from being kidnapped by the Original.

"I'm not here to hurt you." Rose said, holding up her arms as she entered the room, letting him know that it was her.

"Why are you here?" Stefan asked, confused on to why she was here.

"Lexi once told me that you're one of the good ones." Rose spoke.

"You know Lexi?" Stefan asked her, surprised.

"Trevor was my best friend. For 500 years, I have lived with one person. And he's gone. I don't wanna run anymore because I don't have anywhere else to run to." She explained, feeling like she wanted to cry again since the image of his head next to his body kept flashing before her eyes.

"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't help you." Stefan said.

"I don't need your help. But I think you need mine. Elijah may be dead, but this isn't over." Rose said.

"What do you mean it's not over?" Stefan asked.

"It isn't over." Rose repeated. "The Originals, they'll come for them. They have to. They're doing it for him." Rose spoke.

"For who?" Stefan questioned her, a frown on his face.

"Klaus."

What none of them knew, of course was when they left Elijah impaled to the door, the Original slowly woke up, his last memory being of Buffy's face. His face regained its colour back before the vampire removed the stake from his heart, letting out a groan as he remembered the vampires who saved the two girls, taking his mate away from him.

But not for long.

Oh, how they would regret it.

I hope the wait was worth it (I haven't wrote anything like in a week since I had no motivation which is weird since I wanted to write their meeting so badly)
