MARX'S POINT OF VIEW

Looking at her from this distance, I can still see her shining smile. How pure and beautiful it is. Her laugh is such a melody to my ears and she looks so angelic. The only thing that's bothering me is she's currently talking at her co-captain, Nozel Silva. It's not like I'm jealous or anything (or maybe just a little bit), but they've been talking for like, hours already. As much as I wanted to butt in, it's too informal and it may look inappropriate, and Julius might disappear from my sight again.

He has a lot of paper works to do and he'll have to lead a meeting at three that's why the captains are here, like Y/N, to gather before the said time. Sighing, I reminded the Wizard King that's it's already 2:30 already. Just thirty more minutes and he'll have to start the meeting.

"Marx!"

A smile suddenly appeared on my face as I heard Y/N call my name.

"D-Do you need anything, Y/N-chan?"

"Can I go out with Nozel? Promise! I'll be back before three."

I mentally scoffed. Go out? Tsk.

"But it's just thirty minutes before the meeting."

She pouted. "Please? It's a promise, Marx! We'll be back before the meeting."

Ugh! Why the hell is she so cute? I can't possibly decline. Sighing, I nodded and finally gave in to her request. I really can't decline especially when she's using her pleading look.

"Be back at three."

She cheered like a baby as I shrugged before standing beside Julius again, looking at his work. I watch as Nozel and Y/N walk out of the vicinity and I can see that she's really happy under his care. I rolled my eyes involuntarily. I should be the one taking her out, not Nozel.

I always put on a cold demeanor and all but deep down, I really care for Y/N so much. We're childhood friends that's why growing up, I mindlessly found myself falling in love with her. With her charms, with her attitude, not just on her looks but with her whole personality. She's so perfect. I can say that she's the woman of my dreams.

Yet I know that there are so many guys surrounding her, trying to catch her attention and all.

But you can't expect me to back down. Not on my case. After all, I'm very close to her family. Her Mom calls me 'love' and her dad calls me 'son'. See? When we both turned sixteen, that's when I admitted to myself that I love Y/N very much. We shared the same things and we dreamed the same dreams since we were young. All my memories with her are precious.

The only thing that's bothering me is that...so many guys are trying to steal my girl.

Tsk, I can't just sit here and wait for fate to do its job. Destiny? I might say I believe in those things but it doesn't mean I could just relax here and wait for our paths to cross.

I need to take my first step.

The meeting ended smoothly and as promised, Y/N and Nozel were back before three. I heard they visited a shop nearby and helped Nozel to pick something. So it was like a date? Duh. Surprisingly, Y/N was active the whole conference too. She was taking down notes and I can see that's she's really doing her best as a newly assigned captain.

Since Julius was free to do anything he wants, for now, he immediately transformed into an old woman before vanishing right before my eyes. He said he needs to witness new kinds of magic inside the Clover Kingdom. It was favorable for me too though, just for this moment, because Y/N asked me if I could hang out with her again. I immediately said yes, of course.

"Marx-chin, where do you want to go?"

God, why am I nervous? "A-Anywhere you want."

"I heard there's a newly opened cafeteria here! Let's check it out!"

I smiled at her request. "Sure."

Piercing looks from other captains and Magic Knights were shot at us. Probably, they're wondering why I am hanging out with Y/N. They think I should be at my office right now, currently worrying where Julius went. But not for now. I can't miss this chance. Especially when we're both busy, we only have a limited time for each other.

We arrived at the cafeteria and it was quiet yet very enticing. A perfect place for a date. Date? I mean—

"Marx, what do you want to order?"

"I-I..." Can I order you for myself? Okay, that one sucks.

"Are you sick?! You're very red, Marx! Should I take you to Owen?"

Y/N hurried to my side as she placed the back of her hand on my forehead. Goddammit, my heart is really beating hard on my chest.

"I-I'm not sick!"

She pouted. "Yeah, you're not hot at all but you're very red. Do you want to take a rest? I'm sorry for taking you out—"

"No!" I suddenly shouted, catching her off guard. "I-It's okay! I want to hang out with you too, Y/N-chan."

"That's great," She smiled. "What do you want to order now?"

Looking at the menu, there's really nothing I know. All I know to drink are coffee and water but this place is full of espresso thingy and frappes. Are they just the same thing? Do they taste like coffee? I don't know. But this is a cafeteria. It should taste like coffee, right?

When Y/N noticed that I'm having a hard picking, she tapped my shoulder.

"If you want, I can order for you."

"T-Thank you."

"No problem, Marx-chin!"

Coming back with two glasses on her hands, she sat in front of me with a smile on her lips. God, she's close, but not that close, but for me she's close! I'm pretty sure I'm blushing again.

Marx, shut the fuck up man. Calm yourself!

"Marx-chin, I want to ask you something."

My eyebrow shot up. "Hmm? What is it?"

"Are you mad at Nozel?"

Mad? Where is this coming from? "No, why?"

She took a sip from her drink first before proceeding. I can notice that there's a crimson blush crept on her face too. Why? Did I say anything embarrassing?

"When we were about to go out earlier, I saw you looking intently at us. I-I was just worried if there's something going on between you and Nozel?"

She smiled sheepishly.

"No, Y/N-chan. We're both fine and did I make you uneasy? I'm sorry."

"No! It's fine!" She chuckled. "I was just worried about the two of you."

"Say, Y/N-chan, do you like Nozel?"

Her eyes grew bigger at the moment I dropped the question like it was a bomb that's about to explode. She immediately blushed before waving both of her hands in front of me. I can see that there's an awkward air that surrounds us and I want to erase it.

"No! I-I don't like Nozel, I just see him as my brother and best friend. A-After all, I already set my heart on someone."

What's this pain on my heart? Am I nervous?

"S-Someone?"

She shyly looked at me. "Yes."

I knew it. There are so many guys that are trying to steal my girl from me. Or more like, someone already stole her from me. Am I too late? A couple billion in the whole wide world, why does it have to be her? Why don't they look for someone else? She belongs to me. She is my girl.

She knows that I never let her down before and I'm never gonna let another take her love from me now.

I don't want to ask her another question but my body acted up before I could even think.

"Who is that someone, Y/N-chan?"

I mentally slapped myself. Stupid Marx! I'm just going to hurt myself and I'm embarrassing her already!

"I'm actually with him right now."

Ha? I blinked twice. If I heard her right, she just said, "I'm actually with him right now." She said, right now. So it means, right at this moment. What time is it? 5:03. Right at this time? So who is it? Wait, I really can't process it. Is it me? I mean, she's with me right now. So it means...

Blushing, my eyes grew bigger. "Me?!"

She shyly nodded before looking at the floor. Oh, God. Did she just confess to me?

"Y-You, Marx-chin, do you have feelings for someone too?"

I can feel that she doesn't want to ask that question too but in the end, she asked me too. I smiled before catching her hand.

"She's with me right now too."
