"Y/N-chan?"

Charmy sat beside you with a cupcake in her small hands, giving it to you afterward. You smiled, bowing your head. The Black Bulls' hideout is temporarily noisy with Asta and the boys talking to each other loudly in the kitchen while the rest are either pulling pranks like Luck and Zora sleeping soundly on a corner.

"Thank you, senpai."

"Is there anything wrong?" She grabbed her cupcake. "You looked troubled."

You took a deep breath before taking a bite. "Nothing."

"Is this about that prince charming of yours on Golden Dawn?"

W-What?!

Immediately blushing, your eyes grew wider as you wave both of your hands in front of her. Of course, you will deny it. You'll deny the fact that you're in love with Klaus, an elite member of the Golden Dawn squad, usually hanging out with Yuno and Mimosa. After a joint mission last time in the Capital, Klaus saved you from a direct hit coming from the enemy and that's where it all began.

Thanking him by buying him a cake from the nearest cake shop, he was delighted to see you giving efforts for him even though he insisted that it was fine, that you don't need to buy him gifts, and a simple thank you will suffice. As a commoner, rich and aristocratic people usually looked down on you and that is the very first time that a noble held out his hand for you.

Klaus didn't treat you differently, he didn't look at you disgustingly. Instead, he played the role of your knight-and-shining-armor and in that instance, he immediately captured your heart.

But come on, let's face reality. Reality is harsh.

There is still a line drawn between nobles and commoners and commoners between nobles. Two people with different ranks can't be together. It's like mixing water with oil, and that's what troubling you. You knew you can't be together.

"See, it's about him."

Sighing, you sat properly beside your senpai. "I...I like Klaus, but we can't be together?"

"Because he's a noble and you're not?"

I nodded. "You knew how reality works."

"Aw," Charmy patted your back. "But why don't you try? What if it works? Maybe you can change the way other people look at a noble and a commoner being together."

"Easy to say, hard to do."

She laughed, "Accurately."

[ TIMESKIP ]

A sunny Saturday, a perfect day to do grocery in the Capital. Every Saturday, there are new and fresh sea products being brought to the public market and since you're free today, you asked your Captain if you could take a look around, and fortunately, he permitted you.

"Let's see," Eagerly checking the fresh fishes on the baskets, someone called your name from behind, making your heart skip a beat.

"Y/N-chan?"

You closed your eyes for a moment, slowly turning around with a sheepish smile. "O-Oh, Klaus-san!"

"Shopping?"

You nodded, scratching the back of your head. "Y-Yeah."

"Great," He held out his hand. "Can I accompany you?"

Your little, fragile organ beating inside your chest increased its' pace, totally making you go crazy. Why is he like this to you? Why is he making you fall in love harder? What if he's just friendly? Do you think that you'll have a shot for someone like him?! Different things are running on your mind as he snapped his fingers in front of your face.

"Are you okay, Y/N-chan?"

"W-What are you saying again?"

"I said, can I accompany you with shopping? I'm free today anyway."

His brilliant smile shone, almost giving light to your whole day, one whole reason to make this period more reasonable and better. Sighing, you gladly gave him the basket you are holding before he profoundly stands beside you. You looked like a sweet couple, spending your leisure time on the market, but actually, that's not the case.

"Thank you for today, Klaus-san."

The megane gave you all the plastic stuff with a reassuring grin plastered on his handsome face. "I had so much fun."

"Me too."

Staring at each other with no words coming from your mouths happened for good three minutes before both of you spoke at the exact time.

"A-Ano, Klaus-san!"

"Y/N-chan!"

An awkward silence followed before a sweet chuckle escaped from your lips.

"You go ahead first," you commanded, making him blush.

"Actually, Y/N-chan, I want to say that y-you made my day better than usual. Thank you very much for that."

Your heart jumped from pure bliss. "You're welcome! I-I want to say something too, Klaus-san, but please, let me run after I say them."

"Run?" He furrowed his eyebrows. "O-Okay, go ahead."

"I like you, Klaus-san!"

Eyes closed while saying those five words, you didn't mind waiting for an answer before dashing away from him. Well, instincts act before a person could even think so Klaus immediately followed you behind, capturing your wrists before hugging you that caught you off guard.

"I'm so happy, Y/N–"

"Please, let me go!" You pleaded, trying to free yourself from his grip. The latter soon obeyed, watching how those precious tears fell from your face. He was so confused about the way you are acting.

"W-Why are you crying when–"

"Just reject me, I beg you." Your lips are trembling while saying those words. "Please be considerate and–"

"What the hell are you talking about? Why would I reject you when I like you too–"

"You're a noble and I'm not!" You raised your head to see him, face painted with pure agony and sadness. "We can't be together..."

You clutched your hands on the hem of your dress before starting to break down. Klaus didn't mind if people started to watch the little scene but he suddenly grabbed you on the wrist before smashing his lips on yours. Your e/c orbs grew bigger as your mind tried to process everything. The way his lips move against yours made your system rebel so you let your emotions conquer, kissing him back eagerly.

Then he let go with a smile.

"K-Klaus-san,"

"Don't go deciding for yourself, Y/N! I like you too so it means that this matter concerns me too. I don't care if you're a commoner and I don't care what will other people think about us. I just want you on my side forever and I could care less about the rest. I will give you all of me if you promised me that you'll give me all of you. Let me love all your curves and edges, all your perfect imperfections."

Your body shook. "B-But still–"

"Y/N," Klaus caressed your cheeks before giving you a quick forehead kiss. "Disregard our social status. I don't care about that, remember it, okay? Starting from this day, let me swear that you'll be my end and my beginning, that even if I lose, I'm still winning because I'm with you."

Nodding, you wrapped him with a warm embrace before burying your face on the crook of his neck.

"I love you, Klaus-san. I love you so much."

"Aw," he patted your head. "I love you too, Y/N-chan."

Believing that if cards on the table are all showing hearts, you're ready to risk it all though it's hard. Why? Because you love him, you will do everything to stay beside him.
